Kennith Silas Beamer, 83, of Oologah passed away Saturday, Nov. 3, 2007 in Claremore. He was born March 29, 1924 in Wewoka to Henry E. and Lottie (Redford) Beamer. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II and was an electrician for Circle L. Electric in Tulsa before retiring. After retiring he worked as a handyman and helped with the Oologah restoration. He is survived by two daughters, Lou Ann Frost and husband, Don R. of Claremore, and Rebecca Beamer of Oologah; one brother, Carl Beamer and wife Jean of Bullhead, AZ; three grandchildren, Amanda Conner and husband Robert Conner of Tulsa, Brian Frost of Claremore and Kennith Fultz and wife Christy stationed in Imperial Beach, CA; one great grandchild, Elle Frost, and numerous family and friends. Private services were held in his honor under the direction of Collinsville Funeral Home.

Billie Ann Mayfield, 63, passed away Thursday, Nov. 8, 2007 at St. Francis Hospital in Tulsa. She was born June 16, 1944 in Weiner, Arkansas to Hugh M. and Lola (Renard) Norris. She was employed with the Rogers County Conservation Department. She is survived by her husband, Ernest; one son, Ernie and wife Holly of Chelsea; one sister, Etta Jane Brewer of Jacksonville, FL. and numerous extended family and friends. Funeral services were held at 11 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 10, at Washington Baptist Church with Pastor Charlie Lehman officiating. Jeremy Brent Jones, 24, of Talala, passed away Friday, Nov. 2, 2007 at Claremore Regional Hospital. The son of Kevin and Tammy Jones was born Sept. 12, 1983 in Stillwater. He played on the Mustang football team and was a member of the graduating class of 2002. After graduation, he attended Rogers State University. He is survived by his parents, Kevin and Tammy Jones of Talala; brother, William Jones of Filer, Idaho; sister, Erica Sanders and husband, Jeremy of Talala; paternal grandparents, Garry and Yvonne Jones of Tulsa; maternal grandparents, Jack and Norma Tillery of Texas; aunts and uncles, Keith and Nikki Jones of Tulsa, Greg and JenAnn Westfall of Woodlands, Texas and Dennis and Angela Tillery of Yukon; dog, Beulah and numerous other cousins and family. Peggy Karen Blunt, 57, of Owasso, passed away Sunday, Oct. 7, 2007. She was born June 27, 1950 in Tulsa to George Allen and Marcia Elizabeth “Betty” (Hayhurst) Garrett. She graduated from Owasso High School and earned her master’s degree in Occupational and Adult Education from Oklahoma State University. Peggy was an instructor at Tulsa Technology Center and was previous part-owner in Black Jaxx. Lloyd Odell Capps
Lloyd Odell Capps, 90, of Claremore, passed away Tuesday, Oct. 2, 2007, at the VA Center. He was born Oct. 5, 1916, in Tahlequah. He served in the Navy during World War II. He owned and operated Capps Boat Sales near Oologah Lake. He had also patented several inventions. He is survived by his wife, Dorothy, of the home; a daughter, Cynthia “Tootsie” Masten and husband Bobby of Claremore; eight step-children; two grandsons, Ricci Partridge and wife Brenda, and Lloyd Bridges and wife Kimberly; nine great grandchildren; and several other relatives. Funeral services were held Friday, Oct. 5, at Westwood United Pentecostal Church. Graveside services were in Park Hill Cemetery in Tahlequah.
John Russell (Rusty) Doshier
Services for John Russell (Rusty) Doshier will be held at 10 a.m. Monday, Oct. 15 at St. Andrew’s Methodist Church in Claremore. Visitation is 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday and all day Friday at the Oologah Funeral Home. Rusty was the son of Sylvia Maxine (Baldwin) Doshier and the late John Doshier of Oologah. He was born on Feb. 25, 1956 and died Sunday, Oct. 7, 2007 in rural Montana. Rusty’s work took him to many interesting places. He had installed dialysis clinics in China and in many areas of the United States. Another assignment took him to Singapore to install CAT scanning equipment. Rusty is survived by his mother, Maxine, step-daughter Molly Redyke of Broken Arrow, step-grandson, Parker of Broken Arrow, sister and brother-in-law Kathy and Johnny Bussey of Oologah, nephews Andrew Bussey and wife Katie of Oologah and Spencer Bussey of Evanston, Wyoming.

Loy Carl Boyd, 90, of Claremore, passed away Friday, Feb. 1, 2008. He was the former Rogers County treasurer. He was born June 19, 1917 in Arkansas to James and Pearl (Drake) Boyd. Loy served in the Army, earning the Bronze Star and Purple Heart. He was Rogers County Treasurer for 25 years until his retirement. He is survived by his wife, Naomi, of the home; children, Carleen Mitchell, James C. Boyd and his wife, Loretta, all of Claremore, and Mary Page and her fiancé Michael Kinney of N. Las Vegas; grandchildren, Shelly Jones and her husband, Rick, of Claremore, Mike Ryan and his wife, Melissa, of Collinsville, Jennifer Puckett and her husband, David, of Oologah, Jason Boyd and his wife, Jackie, of Claremore, Carrie Steffensen of Chouteau and Sarah Denney of Springfield, MO; and 11 great-grandchildren. Services were held at 1 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 5 at First Christian Church; burial was in Woodlawn Cemetery under the direction of Rice Funeral Service.
PAUL WILLIAM BROWN Paul William Brown, 82, of Claremore passed away Thursday, Jan. 1, 2008. He was a member of the Oologah Eastern Star. He was born Aug. 9, 1925 in Claremore to Thomas Henry and Lena Allie (Breeden) Brown. Paul rode in parades with the Will Rogers Round-up Club. He is survived by his wife, Geraldine, of the home; daughter, Sharon Clark and husband, Terry, all of Claremore; grandchildren, Tammy Anderson and husband, Vernon, of Claremore, Terry Walker and wife, Dawn, of Broken Arrow and Jeri Sappington and husband, Jesse, of Oologah; great-grandchildren, Justin and Christopher Anderson of Claremore, Cameron Walker of Broken Arrow and Tyler and Courtney Sappington of Oologah; sisters, Sara Moore of Tulsa and Mary Olsen of Claremore; sister-in-law, Wanda Russell of Claremore; step-great-grandchildren, J.R. The founder of the Oologah-Talala wrestling program has died. Eddie Lee “Coach” Hamilton, 63, of Berryhill passed away Monday, Jan. 28, 2008. He was born Feb. 20, 1944 in Tulsa to Alvy and Ilena Hamilton. Hamilton was an Oologah football line coach for head coach Jerry Keys in the 70s; he also started the wrestling program at the school. After leaving Oologah he became a coach and mentor for Berryhill Schools. He is survived by his wife of 24 years, Michelle Hamilton of the home; three sons, Todd Hamilton, Brad Hudson and Jeremiah Hamilton all of Tulsa; four daughters, Nicole Rae of Denver, CO, Danette Deer of Tulsa, Tracey McCoy of Tulsa and Star Bible of Tulsa; one sister, Pat Horner of Tulsa; three brothers, Larry Hamilton of Tulsa, James Hamilton of Tulsa and Buddy Hamilton of Mannford and 15 grandchildren. Services were held at 2 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 3, at Berryhill School Auditorium in Berryhill with John King officiating; burial was in Berryhill under the direction of Mark Griffith Memorial Funeral Home. James Allen Davenport, 84, of Oologah, passed away Thursday, Jan. 24, 2008 at Claremore Veteran’s Center. He was born April 11, 1923 in Foster to Marshall and Lillie (Hodges) Davenport. He was a member of Liberty Freewill Baptist Church and a 32 degree Mason. He is survived by his wife, Josephine Davenport of the home; one son, Mark “Tony” Davenport of Mounds; two daughters, Cynthia Deleese James of Talala and Colleen Renee' Montgomery of Claremore; five grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren. Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Monday, Jan. 28 at Stumpff-Nowata Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. David Bilby of Shelter Freewill Baptist Church of Collinsville and Rev. Casey Warford of Liberty Freewill Baptist Church of Oologah officiating. Graveside services were conducted by James H. Teel, American Legion Post #105 of Bartlesville. SUSAN KAREN WILLIS
Susan Karen Willis, 54, passed away Wednesday, Jan. 23, 2008 at Hillcrest Medical Center due to complications of a stroke. She was born March 9, 1953 in Tulsa to Harley Wayne Patterson Sr. and Vista Earlen Patterson (Lane). She moved to Jacksonville, FL. shortly after graduating from Oologah High School in 1971. In 1998, she moved back to Oklahoma and fell in love with James Daniel Willis of Vera. They were married on Jan. 30, 2001. Karen is susvived by two children, Scotty Wayne Hudson, St. Louis, MO. and Angela Suzzane Taylor, Punta Gorda, FL. She is a grandmother of six grandchildren, Chelsea Korina Hudson, 17, Dakota James Hudson, 15, Austin Charles Hudson, 11, Wyatt Matthew Beall, 8, Jacelyn Claire Beall, 6, and the soon to be delivered Wesley James Taylor. She is survived by her mother, Vista Earlen Patterson; brothers and sisters, Harley Wayne Patterson of Depew, William Stanley Patterson of Foyil and Donna Jean Fendley of Oologah. Services were held at 10 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 26 at Oologah Assembly of God; burial was in the Talala Cemetery under the direction of Collinsville Dolton Funeral Home.
