Muriel Trotter, 89, of Oologah, died Sept. 26, 2001 in Collinsville. She was the mother of Joy Wagoner of Talala and and Jackie Upton of Claremore. Services will be at 10 a.m. Monday at First Baptist Church in Talala; burial in Floral Haven Cemetery in Broken Arrow under the direction of Oologah Funeral Home.

Virginia Lee Guice, 74, of Oologah, died March 31, 2002. Services were Wednesday, April 3 at the Glorious Church Fellowship in Collinsville.

Uthalene Hess, 67, died March 27, 2002 in Claremore. She was buried on March 29, 2002 at Ridgelawn Cemetery in Collinsville.

Rachael Clarkson, 62, former owner of Rainbow House of Beauty, died March 10, 2002 at her home in Kailua-Kona, Hawaii. She opened Rainbow House of Beauty at Tacora Hills with her daughter, Rosalie Boggs, in 1985. She retired and moved to Hawaii in May, 2001.
ANGIE HIXSON BROWN
Angie Brown, 32, of Claremore, died March 25, 2002 in a traffic accident. She was a former journalist at the Pitcher and Catoosa newspapers. She worked for two years at Catoosa Flowers. Services were Wednesday, March 27. Survivors include her daughter Krystan and husband Stanley, a Claremore police officer.

JAMES B. HAMMETT, 79, former mayor of Claremore and founder of The Hammett House restaurant, died March 22, 2002 at the Claremore Veterans Center. Visitation is March 28 from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. at Claremore Funeral Home, with burial at 11 a.m. on March 29 at Woodlawn Cemetery in Claremore and services at 2 p.m. at Claremore First Methodist.
ETHEL BENEFIEL FANCHER
Ethel Mae Benefiel Fancher, 99, died June 21, 2002. She was born in Indian Territory and was a long-time resident of Foyil, where she operated Benefiel's Café. Local survivors include daughter Inez Mallory of Claremore, granddaughter Jane and Greg Smith of Talala, and several great-grandchildren. Services were June 25 at Sageeyah Baptist Church, with burial at the Sageeyah Cemetery.
LOWELL "SPIKE" SCHMIDT
Lowell Spike Schmidt, 58, of Talala died June 19, 2002 at home after a long battle with cancer. Schmidt was a 1962 graduate of Oklahoma Military Academy. He served in the U.S. Air Force, then spent 27 years with the Tulsa Fire Department, where he retired as a captain. Local survivors include Wife Connie Schmidt of Talala, stepson Clay Holly of Talala, and stepdaugther Crystal Brassfield of Talala. Services were June 22 at Talala Christian Church.
MELVEN HENDRICKS
Melven Hendricks, 99, of Talala, died June 11, 2002 in Owasso. Services are at 11 a.m. on Thursday, June 13 at First Baptist Church, Talala. Melven traveled to Talala in a covered wagon shortly after her birth. She taught at several area schools. Survivors include daughter Dortha and husband Wilbert Cook of Talala, and several grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Richard Payne, 52, died June 7, 2002. The Oologah resident was a carpenter. Survivors include wife Janet, daughter Montessa and husband Tim Young, two brothers and a sister. Services were June 11 at Liberty Free Will Baptist Church in Oologah, with interment at Wann Cemetery.
RUBY HAYNES
Ruby Ellen (Lancaster) Haynes, 90, died Sept. 24, 2002 in Bartlesville. She was born March 18, 1912 in Mountain View, Ark. She married Fred Haynes on April 15, 1933 in Stratford, Ok. They had a son and two daughters. The family moved to Rogers County in 1941, where they farmed near Oologah. She was a member of Rabbs Creek Baptist Church. Survivors include dauther Phyllis Wood and husband Jerold of Bartlesville, son Junius Haynes and wife Sharon of Abilene, Texas, and many grandchildren and great grandchildren. Services were held Sept. 28 with interment following at Fairview Cemetery in Talala.
JOE GREEN
Joseph Edward Green, 38, of Collinsville, died Sept. 28, 2002 in Tulsa. He was the son of Catherine Smith of Oologah. Survivors include daughters Britany, Kimberly and Sarah Green of Collinsville; brother Alan Westerman and wife Paulette of Collinsville; sister Cherie Clay of Claremore; and his mother.

Ralph Richard ``Dick'' Bird, 76, of Talala, died Thursday, July 24, 2003 at Locust Grove. Memorial services will be held 10 a.m., Thursday, July 31 at the Claremore American Legion. Following cremation, interment will be at Quenemo, Kansas. He was a retired teacher, food service manager and a World War II Navy Veteran. Survivors include daughters Cathy Anderson of Glen Haven, CO and Debra Westerfield of Hollister, MO, step sons Harrill Parks of TX and Darrell Parks of MO, sister Nancy Hettick of Talala, 8 grandchildren and one great grandson. Cremation arrangements were under the direction of the Stumpff-Nowata Funeral Home.
LINDA STOVALL
Linda Marie Stovall, 57, of Mannford, died July 13, 2003 in Tulsa. She taught elementary school for 36 years, the last 31 years at Mannford. She had a special talent for teaching young children to read. Survivors include husband, Larry Stovall of Mannford; two daughters, Carmen Stovall and Christina Stovall, both of Ft. Worth Texas; one sister, Marilyn Koerner and husband Bill of Oologah; one brother, Eldon Wilson and wife Judith of Fulton, Missouri; and aunt Minnie Lee Preston of Claremore. Funeral services were held July 16 at Lakeview Christian Church, Mannford with Danny Moyer officiating. Interment followed at Memorial Park Cemetery, Tulsa under the direction of Moore's Southlawn Chapel.

Randa Kerber, 22, of Owasso, died July 17, 2003 at M.D. Anderson in Houston. Visitation is from 6 to 9 p.m. on Sunday at Floral Haven Broken Arrow, located at 6500 S. 129th E. Ave in Broken Arrow. Services are at 10:30 a.m. on Monday, July 21 at Church on the Move, located at 1003 N. 129 E. Ave., with burial to follow at Floral Haven. She graduated from Oologah in 1999 and is the daughter of Karen and Charles Kerber, swim coach at Oologah-Talala.

Lovada K. Flournoy Birch, 83, of Owasso, died July 14, 2003 in Tulsa. She spent most of her life in the retail business, owning and operating a furniture store, then later the 169 Flea Market in Collinsville. Survivors include six children: Larry Felkins and wife Liz of Talala, Randy Felkins and wife Doris of Collinsville, Dayna McComb and husband Bill of Oologah, Cheryl Wells and husband David of Sallisaw, Alladean Rogers and husband Jerry of Talala and Kent Felkins and wife Inna of Collinsville, 13 grandchildren, 13 great grandchildren and one sister Velma Orman of Broken Arrow. Services were held July 16 at the Mowery Funeral Service Chapel in Owasso. Pastors Lester Orwig and David Wells presided. Interment followed at Ridgelawn Cemetery in Collinsville.

Johnny William Allbritton, 70, of Oologah, died July 4, 2003 in Oologah. llbritton worked as a building contractor and was a resident of Tulsa for many years. He traveled with his wife full time for eight years, which he enjoyed. Survivors include wife Glenda; three sons, Wesley Allbritton and wife Connie, Toby Allbritton and Oren Allbritton and wife Denise; eight grandchildren, John Allbritton, Jerrad Allbritton, Emily Allbritton, Josh Allbritton, Melissa Allbritton, Cheyenne Allbritton, Austin Allbritton, and Amy Allbritton; three brothers, W. H. Allbritton, Otto Allbritton and wife Ruth and George Allbritton and wife Lena; one sister Dorothy Wheeler and husband Fred; two half sisters, Rose Dartez, and Alice Parker; and a host of nieces and nephews. Funeral services were held 2 p.m., Tuesday, July 8 at Zion Hill Church in Oologah with Pastor David Priest, Jr. officiating. Interment followed at Floral Haven Memorial Gardens. Arrangements were made through Floral Haven Funeral Home in Broken Arrow.

Jack M. Graves, 77, of Collinsville, died July 1, 2003 in Collinsville. He was a retired Civil Engineer for the U.S. Government and a veteran of World War II and the Korean War, serving in the U.S. Air Force. Services were held 2 p.m., July 7 at Fort Gibson National Cemetery under the direction of Collinsville Funeral Home.
