Syble A. Conrad, 83, of Wasco, Calif., died Thursday, Dec. 25, 1997 in a Bakersfield hospital in California. She was a Homemaker, member of First Southern Baptist church in Wasco, and a leader of the Girl Scouts.
Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Dec. 29, 1997 at the Mallory Funeral Chapel in Spiro with burial at the Spiro Cemetery under the direction of the Mallory Funeral Home of Spiro.
She is survived by her husband Ted of the home; her daughter, Jerry Colbert and husband, Cleatus of Howe, Okla.; four sons, Aris L. Conrad and wife, Elsie of Marlow, Okla., James Conrad and wife, Mary of Leon, KS, David Conrad of Odessa, Tex., and Ted Conrad Jr., of Wasco, Calif.; two brothers, Johnnie Burrow and Ruben Burrow, both of Ft. Smith, Ark.; 12 grandchildren; and numerous great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers: Kenneth Conrad, Roger Conrad, Bill Greenwood, Jerry Burrow, Adam Colbert, and Roger Colbert.
Evalyn Anna Adamsen Cook
Evalyn Anna Adamsen Cook, 54, of Spiro, Okla., died Sunday, Dec. 21, 1997 in her home. She was preceded in death by her parents. She worked at St. Edward's Mercy Hospital in Ft. Smith as a Medical Technologist.
Funeral services were held Dec. 26, 1997 at 10 a.m., at the Murry Spur Free Will Baptist with burial at Muse Cemetery in Muse, Okla. under the direction of the Mallory Funeral Home of Spiro.
She is survived by her husband, David Cook of the home; two daughters, Amy Cotter of Houston, Tex., and Janet Sheridan of Parachute, Colo.; two sons, David Tarpley of Claremore, Okla., and John Tarpley of the U.S. Army stationed in Japan; one sister, Edith Cuttler of Baltimore, MD; and eight grandchildren.
Pallbearers were: J.E. McKinney, Wayne Davis, Bob Large, Gene Partain, Charles Sebo, and Doug Yates.
Viewing was held Thursday, Dec. 25 at 1 p.m. - 3 p.m.
Wayne T. Hale
Wayne T. Hale, 68, of Sallisaw, Okla., died Tuesday, Dec. 23, 1997 in his home. He was a retired businessman having operated a furniture store in Spiro, Okla. for many years and also in the construction business.
Funeral services will be held 2 p.m., Friday, Dec. 26, 1997 at the Flower Hill Pentecostal Church with burial at Sallisaw City Cemetery under the direction of Mallory Funeral Home of Spiro.
He is survived by three daughters, Judy Irene Wiley of Sallisaw, Sharon Faye Steele of Spiro, and Tonya Renee Underwood of Jennings, Okla.;his companion, Mona Gaither of Poteau; mother of his children, Irene Hamilton of Bokoshe, Okla.; four sisters, Liddia Bell Gilreath of Farmersville, Calif., Lorene Lynn of Stockton, Calif., Maxine Harris and Margie Hawkins, both of Lodi, Calif.; two brothers, Jimmy Hale of Sallisaw and Raymond Hale of Cresent City, Calif.; seven grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
Viewing will be Friday, Dec. 26, 8 a.m. to 12 noon.
Camilla Hendrickson
Camilla Hendrickson, 85, of Panama, Okla., died Friday, Dec. 26, 1997 in Panama. Camilla Hendrickson was born March 31, 1912 in Bokoshe, Okla. She was a Homemaker.
Services will be held at 10 a.m. Monday, Dec. 29, 1997 at the Evans Chapel of Memories, Poteau with the Rev. Jim Cook officiating, interment at the Oakland Cemetery, Poteau.
She is survived by her husband, Lester Hendrickson of the home; three sisters, Paggie Prema of Panama, Margie Duncan of Spiro, and Dolores Tobey of Spiro; numerous nieces and nephews.
Camilla will be missed by all who knew her. Camilla lived in the Chicago area until retirement in 1975.

Oma Lorene Mangrum
Oma Lorene Mangrum, 71, of Poteau, Okla., died Sunday, Dec. 21, 1997 at the Eastern Oklahoma Medical Center, Poteau. Oma Lorene Mangrum was born March 22, 1926 in Summerfield, Okla. She was a retired Home Health Care Provider.
Services will be held at 2 p.m. Friday, Dec. 26, 1997 at the Evans Chapel of Memories, Poteau following interment at the Summerfield Cemetery.
She is survived by her five daughters, Daphne Sue Lemmons of North Carolina, Pamela Kay Battles, Bobbie Jo Montgomery, Mary Dunigan all of Poteau, and Sherri Clark of Wister; four sons, Clarence David Lemmons, James Dow Lemmons both of Ft. Smith, Ark., Sonny Rayburn Mangrum of Poteau, and John Mangrum of Hugo; five sisters, Syble Henry of Red Oak, Rosa Lee Montana of Wilburton, Lavern Blankenship of LeFlore, Christine Tucker of Wilburton, and Lois Robinson of Sulphur Springs, Tex.; one brother, Carrol Dean Sutton of Manford; 22 grandchildren, and 11 great-grandchildren.
Oma Mangrum was preceded in death by her father and mother, her husband, three children, and two brothers.

Alice Alcorn
Alice Alcorn, 81, of Cameron, Okla. was born June 23, 1916 in Anniston, Ala., she died Sunday, January 4, 1998 in Arkoma, Okla. She was a domestic worker.
Graveside services will be held at 2 p.m., Monday, January 5, 1998 at the Knothole Cemetery in Cameron with the Rev. Jim Cook officiating.
She is survived by her son, Harold S. Waites of Cameron; daughter, Juanita Adams of Irondale, Ala.; sister, Lucille Harris of Anniston, Ala.; brother, Billy Jones of Anniston, Ala; 15 grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; numerous nieces, nephews, and many friends.

Ethel Kelly, 90, of Spiro, Okla., died Monday, January 4, 1998 in a Spiro nursing home. She was a member of Birch Chapel Assembly of God, Stony Point.
Funeral services will be at 10 a.m., January 7, 1998 at the Birch Chapel Assembly of God in Stony Point with burial at Spiro City Cemetery under the direction of Mallory Funeral Home of Spiro.
She is survived by one son, Kenneth Kelly of Spiro; four sisters, Viola Cox and Myrtle Davis both of Spiro, Mecia Bartlett and Theresa Hiendselman both of Antioch, Calif.; one brother, Robert Shockley of Spiro; eight grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.

Jewell Self
Jewell Self, 77, of Arkoma, Okla., died Monday, January 5, 1998 in a Fort Smith hospital. She was member of the Faith Missionary Baptist Church of Arkoma.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m., Wednesday, January 7, 1998 at the Mallory Chapel of Spiro with burial at Old Bokoshe Cemetery under the direction of Mallory Funeral Home of Spiro.
She is survived by her two daughters, Debra Self of Arkoma and Annette Price of Keota, Okla., two sons, Bill Self of Stigler, Okla., and Kenneth Self of Poteau; two sisters, Tina Harris of Choctaw, Okla. and Edna Wilcox of Harrah, Okla; 10 grandchildren, and seven great-grandchildren.

Doyle Sewell
Doyle Sewell, 94, of Stigler was born to William Chead and Missouri Josephine (Powell) Sewell, January 14, 1903 at Cartersville, Oklahoma Indian Territory. He died Friday, January 2, 1998 in Stigler. Doyle grew up in Haskell County and married the former Ruby Jane Brown on March 13, 1942. She preceded him in death October 12, 1991. He attended Northeastern University for his formal schooling. He then taught school at Kanima for a while and was a rural mail carrier in Keota. He served his country during World War II in the US Navy. Doyle was a longtime community leader having owned and operated several businesses through the years in Haskell County including a Cotton Gin at Kanima, Sewell Oil Company, a distributor for Conoco Oil Company and in 1946 he formed the Doyle Sewell Motor Company, a Ford dealership in Stigler. He retired when he sold the dealership to Duke Dunn. He was a member of the Stigler United Methodist Church, a 32nd Degree Mason and a member of the Consistory and Bedouin Shrine.
Funeral services were held 10 a.m. Monday, January 5, 1998 at Mallory Chapel in Stigler with Rev. Leo Guthrie officiating. Burial will follow in Keota Cemetery under the direction of Mallory Funeral Home, Stigler.
Pallbearers were: Dr. Thomas Conklin Jr., Doug Martin, Carl Rose, James Roye, Gary Dunn, Chuck Forrester, Duke Dunn, Loyd Munn, and Louie Arnold.
He is survived by his son and daughter-in-law, Pat and Anita Sewell of Stigler; three grandchildren, Bill Sewell, Kevin Sewell, and Tonya Curtis; five great-grandchildren, Amber Barton, Rachel Hogan, Alexis Sewell, Rebecca Sewell, and Madison Sewell.
