Funeral services for Alta June Merryfield, 77, long time Seminole resident, are scheduled for 10 a.m. Wednesday at Swearingen Funeral Chapel. Mike Bentley will officiate.
Interment will follow at the Rest Haven Memorial Gardens under the direction of Swearingen Funeral Home.
Merryfield died Saturday in her home in Seminole.
She was born March 10, 1920, in York, Neb., to Fred Scamehorn and DeWella Marie (Derr) Scamehorn.
She married W.C. "Bill" Merryfield on Nov. 26, 1939 in Long Beach, Calif. He preceded her in death on Dec. 3, 1996.
Merryfield was a homemaker and worked at Park’s Drug in Seminole for ten years.
She was a member of the Church of Christ at Park and Seminole and a member of Brothers Keepers Group Two at the church.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, and two sisters, Virginia Caffey and Darlene Scamehorn.
Survivors include two daughters, Wanda Chapman, Oklahoma City, and Ann Anderson, Albuquerque, N. Mex.; one brother, Denver "Bunny" Scamehorn, York, Neb., four grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
Casket bearers will be Gordon Melson, Frank Seay, Bill Hicks, Cecil Sullivan, James Vanlandingham and Alvin Yoesel.
Honorary casket bearers will be Jim Post, Joe Tracy, John Johnson, Phillip Parks, Jack Arthur and Bill Kepler.

Leola Miles
Leola Irene Miles, died March 27, in Sherman, Texas. Services were held on March 29 at Waldo Funeral Home Chapel in Sherman.
Gaither Day of Key Memorial Methodist Church officiated.
Miles was born Sept. 24, 1921 in Poteau. She and her husband Bill Miles lived in Seminole for many years before moving to Sherman.
She was preceded in death by her husband in 1995. He was employed by Hough Machine Shop. She was a homemaker.
She is survived by her sons, Bill Miles of Oklahoma City, Mike Mlies of Ft. Worth, Texas; and her daughters Mary DeRouse of Jacksonville, Ark., Elizabeth Spencer of Rockwell, Texas, Nancy Miller of Sherman, Texas. She is survived by her brother, Tommy Cummings of Tecumseh and four grandsons.

Cora Lena
Funeral services for Cora Lena, 92, are scheduled for 1 p.m. Saturday at Stout Funeral Home Chapel. Rev. George Jesse will officiate.
Interment will follow at Oakwood Cemetery, Wewoka, under the direction of Stout Funeral Home.
The lifelong area resident died Wednesday in Wewoka Nursing Home.
Lena was born Oct. 4, 1904, in Sasakwa.
She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband, Lillie Lena, and four children, Mike Harjo, Newman Lena, Tony Kilcrease and Sue Johnson, and one grandson, Leroy burns.
Survivors include ten children Roman Kilcrease, Floyd Kilcrease, both of Ada, John Kilcrease, Freddie Lena, both of Wewoka, Lucy Franks, Sasakea, Sammy Kilcrease, Seminole, Rex Kilcrease, Stroug, Walter Lena, Seminole, Eula Robinson, Holdenville and Mable Ward, Seminole; 49 grandchildren, 29 great grandchildren and five great-great grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be her grandsons.
Annlet Moore
Funeral services for Annlet Moore are scheduled for 2 p.m. Thursday at First United Methodist Church in Wewoka. Wayne Parker will officiate.
Interment will take place at Oakwood Cemetery under the direction of Stout Funeral Home of Wewoka.
Moore, a life long resident of Wewoka, died on June 10.
She was the daughter of C. Dale Wolfe, a Wewoka attorney. She graduated from Wewoka High School and the University of Oklahoma.
Moore was active supporter of the Wewoka Public Library and the Seminole Nation Museum. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church, P.E.O. Chapter BZ, Atheneum Study Club, Jonquil Garden Club, and the Wewoka Cemetery Committee.
She is survived by her husband, Tom of the home; three daughters, Ann of Florida, Tish of Michigan and Susan of Dallas.
Other survivors include six grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
The family requests that memorials be made to the Seminole Nation Museum or the Wewoka Public Library.

Michael Murphy
Graveside services for Michael Joe Murphy, 40, are scheduled for 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at Oakwood Cemetery in Wewoka.
Services are under the direction of Stout Funeral Home in Wewoka, and Rev. Mark Cordrey will officiate.
Murphy died Sunday in Enid.
He was born Nov. 5, 1956 in Oklahoma City.
Survivors include his mother, JoAnn Murphy of Midwest City; one brother, Johnny Ray Murphy of Woodland Park, Colo.; one sister, Vicki Lee Moorer of Midwest City; and a maternal grandmother, Lee Hisaw of Midwest City.

Clyde Nero
Clyde Nero, 73, died on Monday at Wewoka Nursing Center. Funeral services are scheduled for 10 a.m. Friday at Pickard Chapel in Konawa. Rev. Bryant Jess will officiate. Burial will follow at Vamoosa Cemetery.
A wake service is set for Thursday from 6-7 p.m. at Pickard Chapel.
Nero was born May 18, 1924 in Bowlegs to Willsie Nero and Lucinda (Bowlegs) Nero.
He was a World War II veteran. He was a mechanic by occupation and lived most of his life in Konawa.
He is survived by three brothers, Dorsey Nero of Seminole, Joseph Cully of Konawa and Johnny Wilson of Kadoka, S.D.
Casket bearers include Rex Cully, Lance Cully, Billy Merrill, Mark Porter, Raymond Harjo and Roy Cosar.
Honorary bearers are Ben Tiger, Phillip Loon, Louis Wise, Don Palmer and George Bunny, all classmates while Nero attended Euchee Boarding School in Sapulpa.

Dorothy Newlin
WEWOKA - Private services are being planned for Dorothy Miller Newlin, 82, of Wewoka.
Newlin died Friday at her home.
She was born in a farm home near Blanchard to Myrtle Tidwell and Robert Foster.
Newlin attended the University of Oklahoma, where she competed as a varsity athlete in swimming, rifle and equestrian events.
She was married in 1936 to the late Tuskhoma Brown (Mutt) Miller, and later married Stewart Newlin.
She lived in Wewoka for the past 37 years and was involved in AAUW, the Hyacinth Garden Club, Boy Scouts and Teen Town activities.
Newlin is survived by her husband of the home; sons, Dr. Robert Foster Miller of Davean, and David Mark Miller of Bisbee, Ariz.; sisters, Lois Miller of Los Angeles, and Wanda Schwilling of Carson, N.M.; one grandchild and two great-grandchildren.
The family request memorials be made to a fund established in her name at the Seminole Nation Museum in Wewoka.

James Newman Sr.
James Edward Newman Sr., 71, died on Saturday in Oklahoma City at Presbyterian Hospital.
Funeral services are set for 2 p.m. Wednesday at First Baptist Church of Wewoka. Dan Anderson and Don Smith will officiate. Burial will take place at Oakwood Cemetery in Wewoka.
Newman was born March 31, l926 in Wewoka to Havis and Opal Newman. He was raised in Wewoka and graduated from high school in California. He married Pauline Langwell on March 11, l950 in Wewoka. He owned and operated Jim Newman Construction Company and retired in 1991.
After his retirement he moved to the east coast to be near his children and worked as a supervisor for Ansco Construction. He retired again in l993 and returned to his home in Seminole. He was a deacon in the First Baptist Church of Wewoka.
He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother, Jerry Williams.
Survivors include his wife of the home; two daughters, Linda Lunsford and Glenda Robertson; one son, Jimmy Jr.; two sisters, Barbara Orsburn and Bertha Sanders; one brother, Bob Newman, Sr.; one step-brother, Frank Williams; one step-sister, Jerri Williams; seven grandchildren, and two great-grandchildren.

Audrey Michelle Orr
Funeral services for Audrey Michelle Orr, 2 months old, are scheduled for 2 p.m. Saturday at the Sand Creek Eufaula Church in Wewoka. Rev. Houston Tiger and Rev. Sandy Harjo will officiate.
Interment will follow at the Oakwood Cemetery under the direction of Stout Funeral Home.
Orr died Tuesday in her home in Konawa.
She was born on March 6, 1997 in Ada to Lavena Orr and Anthony Joseph Orr. Her parents survive her of the home.
Other survivors are a brother Donovan Orr and a sister, Sabrina Orr. She is also survived by her grandmother, Marilyn McCulley.
