ARDMORE - Funeral services for Della V. Sigler, 74, mother of a Seminole resident, are scheduled for 10 a.m. Thursday at McClure Chapel of the First United Methodist Church. Dr. Wade Paschall and Rev. Dan Patman will officiate.
Interment will follow at Rosehill Cemetery under the direction of Craddock Funeral Home, Ardmore.
The lifelong resident of Ardmore died Monday in Mercy Memorial Hospital following a sudden illness.
Sigler was born Oct. 3, 1922, at Brock to George and Josie Stafford Porter.
She was married on Nov. 15, 1940 to John J. Sigler, in Ardmore.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, five brothers and two sisters.
Survivors include one son, Guy H. Sigler II "Buddy", Ardmore, one daughter, Sharon Knowles, Seminole, two sisters, Mille Mapp, Ft. Worth, Tex., and Georgia Estes, Burleson, Tex., and three grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be Avon Barber, Ray Knight, Frank Shaaf, Bill Mullinex, Matthew Sigler and Andy Monson.
Lucy B. Sitton
Memorial services for Lucy B. Sitton, 98, long-time Wewoka resident, are scheduled for 2 p.m. Friday at First Methodist Church in Wewoka. Rev. Wayne Parker will officiate. Burial will follow at Oakwood Cemetery.
A memorial reception, hosted by family and friends, will be held at the Wewoka Country Club from 3-5 p.m.
Sitton died Friday in Oklahoma City.
She was born July 29, 1898 in McLoud, in Oklahoma Territory. She was the first living child of Judge J.A. and Jeannie Baker. The Baker family moved to Wewoka, Indian Territory, before statehood.
While still in her teens, Lucy received her teacher’s certificate from East Central State College. In 1948 she received her Master’s in English from the University of Oklahoma.
"Lucy B" as she was known to friends and former students, began teaching in Haileyville. Her teaching career spanned over 35 years.
After teaching English and music at Cowart Jr. High in Wewoka in the 1930s, she became an instructor of English and journalism at Wewoka High School from 1940 through 1962.
Lucy was especially proud of the Lucy B. Sitton Scholarship, the largest of its kind given in Wewoka. It is funded by former students.
Lucy was predeceased by Preston L. "Peck" Sitton, her husband of 57 years, and a first husband, Paul D. Cole. She was also preceded in death by three daughters, Carolyn McEachin, Jeanella Helmgren, and Paul Bagley.
Survivors include her daughter, Sarah Menefee; seven grandchildren, Preston Bagley, Kurt Helmgren, Karl Helmgren, Jeannie Long, Christopher O’Hara, Sean O’Hara, Kathleen Farley, and 12 great-grandchildren.
The family requests memorial donations be made to the Lucy B. Sitton Scholarship, c/o Wewoka High School, Attn: Marilyn Kincade, P. O. 870, Wewoka, OK 74884.
In 1997, her eyesight failing, Sitton dictated a last short poem call "Epitaph,"
Spawned by the West wind,
Shaped by my joys and pain,
I enter the Western Gate
To find my own again.
Stella Stamps
HOLDENVILLE - Funeral services for Stella Elouise Stamps, 78, a former teacher in Seminole County, were held at 2 p.m. today at First Baptist Church. Rev. Earl Stephenson officiated.
Burial followed at Holdenville Cemetery under the direction of Hudson-Phillips Funeral Home.
Stamps died Saturday at her home.
She was born on April 28, 1918, in Glenn to Silas and Stella Stamps. She was raised in the Lamar community and moved to Holdenville in 1926. She attended Lamar and Holdenville Schools, graduating in 1934. She graduated from East Central State Teachers College in Ada in 1938.
She bagan her teaching career in 1940 in Lamar and Taught in Seminole County for one year before returning to Holdeville in 1942 until retiring in 1984.
Stamps was a member of the first babtist Church of Holdenvill, where she was a member of the Retired Teachers Association and a former member of the BPW.
She was preceded in death by her parents; and brother, Elgin Stamps.
Stamps is survived by sister, Jeanette Adams of Sapulpa.
Pallbearers will be Andy Young, Bill Robinson, Jay Janes, Steve Enos, Dennis Phillips and Gordon Allen.
Honorary pallbearers are Gary Petete, Verl Roberts, Gary Majors and Floyd Johnson.

Dora Stephens
WEWOKA ¾ Graveside funeral services for Dora Mae Stephens, 78, are scheduled for 11 a.m. Monday at Machpelah Cemetery on the grounds of Ethiopian Reformed Coptic Church of Christ, Nobletown.
Bishop Charley G. Gilbert Jr., will officiate. Burial will be under the direction of Myers Mortuary.
Stephens died Wednesday at Seminole Municipal Hospital.
She was born Nov. 15, 1918, in Wewoka. She lived in Wewoka most of her life. She was a member of Ethiopian Reformed Coptic Church of Christ.
Survivors include her stepmother, Pearl Gordon, Wewoka; four daughters, Dorothy Miller, Claudia Ann Gilbert, Verdelma Lee Carolina and Velma Jean Moore; three sons, Willie F., Ray M. and Claud Stephens; four brothers, Charley Alford, Napoleon, Cliffton and Nathaniel Gordon; one sister, Louise Gordon; 48 grandchildren, 93 great-grandchildren and 14 great-great-grandchildren.
Eugenia Sturgeon
Funeral services for Eugenia Sturgeon, 82, are scheduled for 1 p.m. Tuesday at Myers Mortuary Chapel in Wewoka.
Burial will follow at Lima Cemetery.
She died Tuesday in Seminole.
She was born April 13, 1915 in Chicago.
Survivors include one sister, Edna Laura of Chicago and six great-grandchildren.

Cora Tiger
Funeral services for lifelong Wewoka resident Cora Mae Tiger, 52, are scheduled for 1:30 p.m. Thursday at Sand Creek Eufaula Baptist Church. Rev. Houston Tiger will officiate.
Interment will be in the Tiger Cemetery, located southwest of Justice School, under the direction of Stout Funeral Home.
Tiger died Thursday in her home in Denver.
She was born in Wewoka on April 8, 1945 to Sam and Maley Tiger. Her parents preceded her in death.
She was a member of the Hilltop Presbyterian Church in Wewoka as a child. After graduating from Eufaula High School, she attended trade school in Denver where she received was certified in printing.
Tiger pursued her career at Penny Records in Oklahoma City for 21 years before moving to Denver.
Survivors include four sisters, Clara Goode, Denver, Betty Tiger, Oklahoma City, Billie Tiger and Maureen Tiger, both of Holdenville; two brothers, Malcolm Tiger, Holdenville and Allen Tiger, Denver.

Mary Tiger
Mary Elizabeth Tiger, 76, died at Presbyterian Hospital in Oklahoma City on Saturday.
Funeral services were held 2 p.m. on Tuesday in the Hudson-Phillips Funeral Chapel in Holdenville. Tom Bear officiated. Interment took place in the Tiger Family Cemetery west of Spaulding.
Tiger was born in Schulter on Jan. 5, l921 to Willie and Jeannie Burgess. She was reared in the Schulter area and attended school there. She married Dickie Tiger in Hughes County in l938. He preceded her in death in l979.
She lived in Oklahoma City for several years before returning to this area in l963. She was a member of the Little Cuseteah Methodist Church near Schulter.
She was preceded in death by four sons, Edward, Joseph, Kenneth and George.
Tiger is survived by one son, Rick Tiger of Bowlegs; five daughters, Naomi and Liz Tiger of the home, Jeannie Henry of Holdenville, Peggy Haire of Holdenville, and Roseann Smith of Devils Lake, N.D.; she had numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Zelma Tucker
KONAWA - Funeral services for Zelma Lucille Tucker, 90, of Konawa, have been scheduled for 2 p.m. Wednesday Pickard Funeral Home Chapel. Richard Winters will officiate.
Burial will follow at Konawa Cemetery under the direction of Pickard Funeral Home.
Tucker died Saturday at Valley View Regional Hospital in Ada.
She was born on Dec. 26, 1906, in Sacred Heart to John P. Nelson and Anna May Paris.
Tucker live in the Konawa area all her life and retired from Konawa Schools.
She married W. "Bill" Tucker, Jr., in Konawa on March 30, 1935. She was a member of the Church of Christ.
Tucker is survived by her husband of the home; brothers, Gene Nelson of Duncan and Vernon Nelson of Oklahoma City; sisters, Mary Houk of Chickasha; two grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be Dick Wilkins, Frank Nelson, Jerry Butler, Melton Courtney, Mart Haiden and Jim Lowe.

Bill Tucker Jr.
W. "Bill" Tucker Jr., 88, died Wednesday in Grand Prairie, Texas. He was a resident of Konawa.
Funeral services are scheduled for 2 p.m. Saturday at Pickard Funeral Home Chapel in Konawa. Richard Winters will officiate. Burial will take place at Konawa Cemetery under the direction of Pickard Funeral Home.
Tucker was born May 15, 1908 to Willie Tucker and Kate Robinson Tucker in Konawa. He was a life-long resident of Konawa. He married Zelma Lucille Nelson on March 30, l935.
He was a banker and an insurance agent. He was also a member of Lions Club, former Mayor of Konawa, secretary and treasurer of the school board, served on the board of Konawa Industrial Foundation and a member of the Chamber of Commerce.
Tucker was a life-long member of the Church of Christ.
He was preceded in death by his wife on April 5, l997.
He is survived by a son, Larry Tucker of Grand Prairie; two grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers are Jerald Jackson, James Love, Lillard Berry, Mike Boren, Carl Roper and Milton Courtney.
