Funeral services for former Seminole County resident Amy "Ruth" (Carr) Beauford, 98, are scheduled for 2 p.m. Thursday at Faith Assembly of God Church in Shawnee.
Pastors Doyle Seely and Kurt Beauford will officiate at the service. Burial will follow at Little Cemetery under the direction of Swearingen Funeral Home.
Beauford died Sunday, Aug. 1, 1999 at Shawnee Golden Rule Nursing Home.
She was born Oct. 2, 1900 to William "Bill" and Loonora Jane (Spooner) Carr.
A minister’s wife, she and her husband had pastored the First Assembly of God Church in Shawnee, and retired in 1972.
Beauford had taught at Pluver School in Seminole County.
She married Clarence Oliver Beauford in 1922 in Seminole County; he preceded her in death in 1985.
Beauford was also preceded in death by her parents, one brother and two sisters.
Survivors include three sons, Forrest Daniel Beauford, Claremore, Gerald Kenneth Beauford and Donald Keith Beauford, both of Seminole; seven grandchildren and 20 great-grandchildren.
Eugene Beaver
Funeral services for former Seminole County resident Eugene Beaver, 68, were held today at Salt Creek United Methodist Church.
Rev. Malcomb Tiger and Rev. Mike Harjo officiated at the service. Interment followed at the Harjo family cemetery under the direction of Hudson-Phillips Funeral Home.
Beaver died Friday, Jan. 29, 1999 at Holdenville General Hospital.
He was born June 16, 1930 east of Wetumka, and reared in the Salt Creek Community.
Beaver attended schools at Lone Star, Friendship, Bethel and Jones Academy Euches Mission.
A veteran, he served in the US Army for two years.
Beaver worked in construction and also for Boeing Aircraft before retiring in the late 1960’s.
He served as a baseball and softball coach for Holdenville area teams.
Beaver was a member of Salt Creek United Methodist Church.
He married Minnie Beaver in Ada in 1954; she preceded him in death.
Beaver was also preceded in death by his parents; one son, Jackie Lee; and one brother, John Beaver Jr.
Survivors include one daughter, Shirley Harrison, of the home; four sisters, Wanda Postoak, Tulsa, Cora Ann Beaver, Holdenville, Norean Tiger, Holdenville, and Colleen Larney, Oklahoma City; five grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.
Nola ‘Pee Wee’ Begley
Funeral services for former Seminole resident Nola Ola "Pee Wee" (Acree) Begley, 82, were held Tuesday morning at Swearingen Funeral Home Chapel.
Rev. Carl Whitfield officiated at the service. Burial followed at Rest Haven Memorial Gardens and Mausoleum.
Begley died Saturday, July 31, 1999 at St. John’s Hospital in Springfield, Mo.
She was born Sept. 16, 1916 in Haskell to Eck and Ocie (Johnson) Acree.
She moved to Seminole from Perry in 1970, and had since moved to Mansfield, Mo.
A homemaker, Begley was a member of Tri-City Christian Center.
She married Ernest C. Begley on Jan. 25, 1934 in Seminole. He preceded her in death on May 14, 1998.
She was also preceded in death by her parents; one brother, Holbert Acree; one sister, Ocie Payne; and three children at birth.
Survivors include two brothers, Elick Acree, Mansfield, Mo., and Eugene Acree, Graysville, Ill.; and two sisters, Marquerite "Chick" Cruse, Odessa, Texas and Alwanda "Shub" Hester, Ardmore.
Mamie Bell
Graveside services for Seminole resident Mamie L. (Vincent) Bell, 101, are scheduled for 10 a.m. Thursday at Little Cemetery.
Rev. Carl Whitfield will officiate at the services. Arrangements are under the direction of Swearingen Funeral Home.
Bell died Tuesday, July 27, 1999 at Seminole Medical Center.
She was born Aug. 20, 1897 at Ceader Hill, Texas to John and Nora (Sharp) Vincent.
A homemaker, Bell was a Baptist by faith.
She married Rufus Melvin Bell on May 18, 1913 in Gould. He preceded her in death on July 21, 1966.
Bell was also preceded in death by two sons, George Vincent Bell and William Harrold Bell; and two sisters, Brunette Armstrong and Fannie Nesmith.
Survivors include one daughter, Lela Miller and her husband, Truman, Uniontown, Ken.; eight grandchildren, several great- and great-great-grandchildren.
Vaudine Belveal
EXETER, MO. - Graveside services for Seminole native Vaudine Marie Belveal, 61, were held Saturday at Williamson Funeral Home, Cassville, Mo.
Belveal died Wednesday, June 23, 1999 at her home after a lengthy illness.
She was born Jan. 17, 1938 in Seminole to Van and Ines McKinley Bishop, before moving to Jay, Fla., and on to Exeter in 1997.
A homemaker, Belveal was a member of the Mill Street Church of Christ, Cassville.
She was married to Charles A. Belveal on July 8, 1955 in Seminole. He survives her of the home.
Other survivors include one son, Donald E. Belveal, Jay, Fla.; two daughters, Vanessa G. Lowery, Brewton, Ala., and Rhonda E. Scott, Exeter, Mo.; one brother, Kenneth Bishop, Exeter, Mo; two sisters, Betty Ruark, Diamond, Mo., and Brenda Rider, Bentonville, Ark; and seven grandchildren.
The family has suggested that expressions of sympathy be made to the Fair Haven Children’s Home, in Strafford, Mo., in care of Williamson Funeral Home, Cassville, Mo.
Theresa Benardello
Graveside services for former Seminole resident Theresa (Buscema) Benardello, 98, were scheduled for today at Rest Haven Memorial Gardens.
Rev. Carl Whitfield officiated; burial was under the direction of Swearingen Funeral Home.
Benardello died Saturday at Presbyterian Hospital, Oklahoma City.
She was born March 30, 1900, in Vittoria, Italy. She married Joseph Benardello 60 years ago.
She was a homemaker and, at the time of her death, a resident of Midwest City.
She was preceded in death by her husband in 1980.
Survivors include one son, John Benardello, Midwest City; one sister, Concetta Testa, Palm Harbor, Fla.; one grandson, one great-grandson and a great-granddaughter.
Betty Bennett
Funeral services for Seminole resident Betty Lou (Brannon) Bennett, 64, are scheduled for 11 a.m. Tuesday at Central Baptist Church, 30th and Jordan, in Oklahoma City.
Rev. Rick Livingston will officiate at the service. Burial will follow at Earlsboro Cemetery under the direction of Swearingen Funeral Home.
Bennett died Wednesday, Oct. 6, 1999 at Presbyterian Hospital in Oklahoma City.
She was born July 19, 1935 in Earlsboro to Alfred and Fannie Mae (Gaulding) Brannon.
Bennett graduated from Shawnee High School in 1954, and was a member of Central Baptist Church.
She was employed by the State of Oklahoma, and retired in 1998.
She married Billy Bennett in 1955 in Oklahoma City; he survives her of the home.
Bennett was also preceded in death by her mother on Jan. 23, 1964, and stepfather Harry Talton on Oct. 19, 1994.
Other survivors include her father, of Earlsboro; two son, Billy Bennett Jr., of the home and Jerry Bennett, Oklahoma City; three daughters, Carolyn Bennett and Anita Bennett, both of the home, and Rita Wright, Oklahoma City.
Also surviving him are two brothers, Joe Brannon, Spencer, and Tony Talton, Earlsboro; five sisters, Ella Black, Oklahoma City, Verlene Brannon, Midwest City, Beatrice Talton, Lima, Mildred Conway, Shawnee and Lena Talton, Earlsboro; eight grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
Vera Berry
Funeral services for Lima resident Vera Lee Berry, 80, are scheduled for 11 a.m. Saturday at First Baptist Church, Wetumka.
Rev. Wilmer Cooper, of First Baptist Church, Lima, will officiate. Interment will follow at Wisner Chapel under the direction of Myers Mortuary, Wewoka.
Berry died Monday, March 1, 1999 in Oklahoma City.
She was born March 12, 1918 in Okfuskee County.
Berry lived in Seminole County for 46 years.
Berry was a home health provider and a member of the First Baptist Church of Lima.
She married Jack Berry; he survives her of the home.
Other survivors include six daughters, Rosetta Berry, Wanda Jones and Deaner Berry, all of Oklahoma City, Cora Brown, Grand Prairie, Texas, Neola Jackson, Lima and Jackie Stroud, Wewoka; eight sons, Sam Berry, Holdenville, Kenneth Berry, Lima, Donnie and Earl Berry, Shawnee, Jackie A. Berry, Wewoka, Carl Berry, Spencer, Royce Berry, Brooksville and Benjamin Berry, Lima; one sister, Tennie Bell, Wetumka, 33 grandchildren and 47 great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers are listed as grandsons, Jeroid Berry, Mike Berry, Darnell Berry, Auther Lee Barry, Barnard Berry and Otis Berry.
