Funeral services for lifelong Seminole resident Charles Howard Colbert, 58, are scheduled for 1 p.m. Saturday at Galilee Baptist Church.
Rev. Larry T. Crawford will officiate at the service. Burial will follow at Westwood Cemetery under the direction of Swearingen Funeral Home.
Colbert died Sunday, Jan. 17, 1999 at Vencor Hospital, Oklahoma City.
He was born Dec. 27, 1940 in Seminole to Earl Maxwell and Pearl Lena (Mills) Colbert.
He attended Booker T. Washington School and Seminole High School.
Colbert was employed by J. D. Neese Used Cars and Tommy Sneed garage for many years before retiring due to health reasons.
He was a member of the National Guard and of the Galilee Baptist Church.
Colbert was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers, William Earl Colbert and James Earl Colbert.
Survivors are three sisters, Linda Minner and Edna Mae Wilson, both of Seminole, and Carolyn Smith, Hazen, Ark.
Casket bearers are listed as the Brotherhood of Galilee Baptist Church.
Honorary bearers include Reggie Knighton, Chauncey Cravens, Mark Reese, Walter Wilson, Johnny Littleton, Randy Winrow, Bill Snell, Thelmer Hood, Waldo Payne, Glenn Street, Kelvin Reese, Troy Newton and Alonzo Newton.
David Cole
Word was received today of funeral services for David Barney Cole, 35.
Cole lived in the northern part of Seminole County and was found dead last week near Earlsboro.
Funeral services were held Monday in the chapel at Fort Cobb Funeral Home.
Herman Hupp officiated; burial followed in Fort Cobb Cemetery.
Cole was born May 2, 1963, in Oklahoma City to Paul and Susie (Thomas) Cole.
He was raised at Jenks, where he attended school.
He was in the masonry construction business with his father and a member of the Church of God in Okemah.
Survivors include his three sons, Michael and twins Matthew and Mitchell Cole, all of the home; two daughters, Amanda and Melany Cole, both of the home; his parents of Okemah; two brothers, Rocky Cole of Gulfport, Miss., and Bill Cole, Okemah; one sister, Frances Lawrence, Bristow; one foster brother, Gary Huber, Dallas; and two half-brothers, Rick and Chuck Cole, both of Sacramento, Calif.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Barney and Ollie Cole and Bill and Grace (Kincy) Thomas.
Lucille Conger
Funeral services for former Wewoka resident Lucille Conger, 89, are scheduled for 2 p.m. Monday at Church of Christ in Wewoka.
Mack Lyon will officiate at the service. Interment will follow at Oakwood Cemetery under the direction of Stout Funeral Home.
Conger died Wednesday, Nov. 24, 1999 in Yukon.
She was born July 13, 1910 in Ola, Ark. to William and Carrie (Dixon) Newman.
Reared in Sasakwa, she attended Sasakwa Schools.
Conger moved to Wewoka, where she resided until moving to Yukon in January, 1999.
She married Albert "Bud" Conger on July 26, 1926 in Wewoka.
Survivors include one daughter, Lavenia Cross, Yukon; two sisters, Bessie Knight, Oklahoma City, and Katherine Krebs, Florida; four grandchildren, 10 great-grandchil-dren and six great-great-grand-children.
Pallbearers are listed as Billy Bryant, Dennis Bicknell, Johnny Sexton, Thurman Conger, Travis Richmond and Jesse Sawyer.
Honorary bearers include Robert Hensley, Jim Bicknell and Judge Sawyer.
Edna Cook
Funeral services for Cromwell native Edna Mae Cook, 91, were held today at Gaskill-Owens Funeral Chapel.
Bill Roberts officiated at the service. Interment followed at Resthaven Memorial Park.
Cook died Friday, Jan. 22, 1999 at a Shawnee area nursing home.
She was born April 10, 1907 in Cromwell to Charles and Alice (Harper) Jones.
She attended Shawnee schools and moved to Tecumseh in 1939.
Cook was a member of New Hope Baptist Church, and worked for Harps and Douglas Aircraft.
She was a longtime member of the Tecumseh Roundup Club.
She married Oley Cook Sr. in 1923 in Shawnee. He preceded her in death.
Cook was also preceded in death by her parents; one son, Willard E. Cook; three brothers and two sisters.
Survivors include one son, Oley Cook Jr., Tecumseh; six grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren and five great-great-children.
Wayland ‘Lynn’ Cooper
Funeral services for Wewoka resident Wayland "Lynn" Cooper, 92, are scheduled for 1:30 p.m. Friday at Church of Christ in Wewoka.
Interment will follow at Holdenville Cemetery under the direction of Stout Funeral Home.
Cooper died Monday, April 19, 1999 in Wewoka.
He was born Nov. 6, 1906 to William Barton and Jennie Minerva (Oliver) Cooper in Cedar Vale, Kan.
He came to Wewoka at the age of four, and attended school at Twin Oak School.
Cooper grew up in Seminole County. He went to work in the oil industry, and worked for the Magnolia Oil Company and other companies all over the southwestern United States and Venezuela.
He moved to Colorado in 1954, where he worked for US Smelting Mining and Refining, and retired in September, 1969.
Cooper returned to Wewoka in 1971 and remained here until the time of his death.
He was married to Vera Mae Knight on April 4, 1935 in Wewoka. She survives him of the home.
Cooper was preceded in death by his parents.
Other survivors include one daughter, Carolyn Koski, Austin, Texas; seven brothers, Starling, Chester, Lawrence, Ellis, Ed, Leland and Bruce Cooper; two sisters, Grace Andrews and Emma Cooper; two grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
Mary Cooper
Funeral services for former Wewoka resident Mary Annie Cooper, 93, were held Saturday at Church of God in Christ.
Wilmer Cooper, of the First Baptist Church, Lima, officiated at the service. Burial followed at Westwood Cemetery under the direction of Myers Mortuary.
Cooper died Sunday, Feb. 14, 1999 at Baptist Memorial Hospital, Kansas City, Mo.
She was born Dec. 19, 1905 in Mira, La., and had lived in Wewoka for over 50 years.
Cooper was preceded in death by her parents, one son and her husband.
Survivors include four daughters, Cenola Dale, Henryetta Finney, Joyce Johnson and Pinky Cooper, all of Kansas City, Mo.; three sons, Cecil Cooper, Los Angeles, Calif., and Herbert Cooper and Henry Cooper, both of Wewoka.
Other survivors are six sisters, Gracie Turner and Bertha Love, both of Kansas City, Charlene Ellison, Sharon Kay Underdown, Wanzetta Ellison and Robin Ellison, all of Oklahoma City; 34 grandchildren, 47 great-grandchildren and five great-great-grandchildren.
Harvey Cornelison
Graveside services for longtime Seminole resident Harvey Earl Cornelison, 74, are scheduled for 2 p.m. Thursday at Rest Haven Memorial Gardens.
Dr. Kelvin Moseley will officiate at the service. Burial is under the direction of Swearingen Funeral Home.
Cornelison died Tuesday, March 16, 1999 at Talihina Veterans Hospital.
He was born July 26, 1924 in Morris to Adda (Tunin) and Hubert Cornelison.
A veteran, he served in the 3rde Army, 12th Armored Division during World War II as a T-4 Staff Sergeant.
Cornelison and his brothers were the former longtime owners of Cornelison Engines in Seminole, before it closed in 1988.
He was a member of First Baptist Church, a lifetime member of the Shawnee VFW, the Seminole American Legion and the 12th Armored Association.
Cornelison married Juanita Meeks on June 15, 1947 in Shawnee. She survives him of the home.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Other survivors include two sons, Steve Cornelison, Seminole, and Wade and Cindy Cornelison, Lufkin, Texas; and brothers and sisters, L.E. "Red" Cornelison, Claude Cornelison and Jean Parsons, all of Seminole; and two grandchildren.
Eli Cornelius
Funeral services for Seminole County resident Eli Cornelius, 69, are scheduled for 11 a.m. Saturday at Snake Creek Church.
Interment will follow at Cornelius cemetery under the direction of Stout Funeral Home.
Cornelius died Wednesday, March 10, 1999 at Hillcrest Hospital in Tulsa.
He was born April 17, 1929 in Seminole County to Barney and Martha (Hulbutta) Cornelius.
A veteran, he served in the US Army during the Korean War.
Cornelius was preceded in death by his parent, two brothers, Velma and Lee; two sisters, Irene and Lucy, and one son, Don.
Survivors include his wife, Nadine Cornelius, of the home; three daughters, Jana Baird, Norman, Beth Wolfe, Pryor, and Belinda Sutterfield, Newcastle; and two sons, Bill Snyder, Wellston, and James Cornelius, Wewoka.
Pallbearers are listed as his nephews. Honorary bearers include Leo Hulbutta and Lee Cloud.
