Funeral services for longtime Wewoka resident Owilda Navell Harris Cummings, 78, are scheduled for 1 p.m. Friday at Wewoka Church of Christ.
Interment will follow at Oakwood Cemetery under the direction of Stout Funeral Home.
Cummings died Tuesday, Nov. 2, 1999 during a surgery procedure at Mercy Hospital in Oklahoma City.
She was born July 9, 1921 in Sasakwa to William Presley Harris and Ada Buchanan Cargill.
Cummings attended school at Culley Elementary, and graduated from Sasakwa High School.
She trained as a cosmetologist, and worked in Sasakwa for a short time before moving to Wewoka.
Cummings owned and operated Cottage Beauty Shop, and was honored by the State of Oklahoma Cosmetologists.
A longtime member of the Wewoka Church of Christ, she was baptized at an early age.
She was married to Paul Cummings in 1946; he preceded her in death in 1982.
Survivors include two daughters, Carol Sue Smith and Peggy Gustin, both of Oklahoma City; one sister, Lillian Parks, Duncan; one brother, Doyle Harris, Elk City; three grandchildren and five great-grandchild-ren, and her companion, Ralph Roush.
Jerry Curtain
Funeral services for Wewoka resident Jerry Dan Curtain, 62, are scheduled for 10 a.m. Wednesday at Stout Chapel in Wewoka.
Doug Arnold and Kellos Walker will officiate at the service. Interment will follow at Oakwood Cemetery.
Curtain died Monday, April 5, 1999 at Carl Albert Hospital in Ada.
He was born Jan. 25, 1937 in Holdenville to Lewis Levi and Martha (Styles) Curtain.
He was reared in Holdenville and graduated from Spaulding schools before moving to Wewoka.
A veteran, he served in the Armed Forces during the Korean Conflict.
Curtain worked in the late 1960’s and early 1970’s for the Wewoka Police Department, and was also a rancher and oilfield worker.
He was a longtime member of the Midway Baptist Church.
Curtain married Deanna Bryant on Dec. 21, 1963 in Shawnee. She survives him of the home.
He was preceded in death by his father in 1979 and his mother in 1983, and one brother, Billy Don in 1986.
Other survivors include one special niece, Charlene Richards, of Wewoka.
Pallbearers are listed as O.R. Jackson, Pat Comstock, Nolan Robinson, Terry Heard, William Walker, and Leo Streater.
Honorary bearers are Durward Tucker, Ralph Roush, James Osborn, Benny Streater, Jack Bible, Jim Rogers, and Olen Arnold.

Jep Daniel
Funeral services for longtime Seminole resident Jep H. Daniel, 83, are scheduled for 10 a.m. Friday at Swearingen Funeral Home.
Dr. Frank Harber III will officiate at the services. Burial will follow at Rest Haven Memorial Gardens.
Daniel died Tuesday, Feb. 16, 1999 at Valley View Hospital in Ada.
He was born Nov. 12, 1915 in Okay to Lettie Ann (Zackery) and Rufus Andrew Daniel.
He moved to Seminole from Muskogee 54 years ago.
An oilfield worker, Daniel worked as a driller, tool pusher and field superintendent.
He received hi 50 year pin in 1998 from the Masonic Lodge and was of the Baptist faith.
He married Inez Ross on July 5, 1962 in Ada. She survives him of the home.
Daniel was preceded in death by his parents and two sons, Jack Daniel and Robert "Bob" Daniel.
Other survivors include three daughters, Kay Daniel Donald, Gilmer, Texas, Shange Daniel Loyd, Cedar Lake, and Patsy Daniel of the home; two sisters, Laura Breece, Muskogee and Bernice Johnson, Wagoner; 13 grandchildren and 20 great-grandchildren.
Casket bearers will be his grandsons.

Edna Darnell
Funeral services for Wewoka resident Edna Violet Darnell, 68, were held at 10 a.m. today at Stout Funeral Home Chapel in Wewoka.
Rev. Dan Anderson officiated at the service. Interment followed at Oakwood Cemetery under the direction of Stout Funeral Home.
Darnell died Oct. 16, 1999 at McAlester Regional Hospital.
She was born Dec. 26, 1930 in Maple Creek, Saskatchewan, Canada to Carl and Christina (Albrecht) Schulz.
Raised in the area, she attended school in Maple Creek before moving to Oklahoma in 1948.
Darnell then moved to Border, Texas for a short time before moving to Cromwell in 1952.
A short time later, she moved to Wewoka where she began working for OG&E in 1953.
She was engaged to Gene Wheeler, who was her lifelong companion.
After working for 35 years, Edna retired in 1986. She remained in Wewoka during her retirement, until the time of her death.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Carl and Christina Schulz, and seven brothers and sisters.
Survivors include one daughter, Denise Webb and her husband, Robert, McAlester; fiancé and longtime companion, Gene Wheeler, Wewoka; four grandchildren, Tracy Chambers, Timberon, Calif., Troy Stephens, Oklahoma City, Denise Webb, Pauls Valley and Rodney Webb, McAlester; two great-grandchildren, Brooke Webb and Brittany Webb, both of McAlester.
Other survivors are two brothers, Ivan Schulz, Maple Creek, Saskatchewan, Canada, and Fred Schulz, New West Minster, British Columbia; and three sisters, Ida Dumount, Fort Macleod, Alberta, Canada, Elsie Seather, Maple Ridge, British Columbia, Canada and Emma Wilson, Sunlake, Ariz.
Pallbearers were Troy Stephens, Rodney Webb, Gary Thomas, Richard Hickman, Charles Chance and J.M. Wendell.
Honorary pallbearers were Shelbey Burchett, Tim Anderson and Andy Anderson.

Jay Davenport
Funeral services for Wewoka resident Jay Davenport, 84, are scheduled for 10 a.m. Monday at Church of Christ in Wewoka.
Eddie Neill will officiate at the service. Interment will follow at Oakwood Cemetery under the direction of Stout Funeral Home.
Davenport died Monday, Dec. 20, 1999.
She was born June 30, 1915 in Buffalo, Texas to Lee and Cassie Carter Brooks.
Davenport had lived in San Diego, Calif., from 1939 until November, 1971, when she moved to Wewoka.
She was an active member of the Church of Christ.
She married Jess W. "Jack" Davenport on Aug. 27, 1939. He preceded her in death.
Davenport was also preceded in death by her parents, and two brothers, John Brooks and Roy Brookos.
Survivors include two sisters, Vivian Clay, Sherman, Texas, and Jean Uptegraft, Wewoka.
Pallbearers are listed as members of the church.

Florence Davis
Graveside services for Seminole resident Florence Davis, 90, are scheduled for 2 p.m. Wednesday at Little Cemetery.
Doug Arnold will officiate at the services. Arrangements are under the direction of Stout Funeral Home.
Davis died Monday, Sept. 20, 1999 at Pioneer Nursing Home.
She was born Sept. 17, 1909 in Delaware, Okla. To William T. and Anna (Redingote) Mills.
Davis was retired from Wewoka Housing Authority, where she had worked for many years.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Ira Davis in December, 1968; and one sister, Gladys Walker.
Survivors include two daughters, Maxine Yeager, Wewoka, and Ann Abel, Weiner, Ark.; five sisters, Edna Higdon, Hutchinson, Kan., Dorothy Davis, Midwest City, Mildred Roe, Aledo, Texas, Ida Mae Roe, Ft. Worth, Texas, and Imogene Esau, Hutchinson, Kan.; seven grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.

Archie Davis
Funeral services for Sasakwa resident Archie Davis, 89, are set for Friday at 1:30 p.m. at Spring Church with Billie Harjo, Franklin Harjo and Houston Tiger officiating.
The procession to Spring Church will begin at 4 p.m. Thursday and all night services will follow.
Interment will be at the Davis family cemetery under the direction of Stout Funeral Home.
Davis was born on July 8, 1910 in Seminole County to Sunday and Ilsy (Caesar Davis).
He was a member of the Rock Spring Indian Church and became an ordained deacon in 1972.
Davis Married Cindy Davis, who preceded him in death.
Davis was also preceded in death by his parents; three brothers, Billy Davis, Barney Davis and Cheparney Davis; four sisters, Nancy, Mandy, Wisey Davis and Minnie Harjo.
He is survived by one sister, Cora Harjo, Sasakwa; one son Earl Davis, Sasakwa; two daughters, Sylvia Davis, Sasakwa and Cletus Wilson, Muskogee; one step-daughter, Hedy Davis, Seminole.
Pallbearers are listed as Glen Isham, Teddy Isham, Clifford Harjo, Curtis Wilson, Curtis Wilson, Jr., George Postoak, James Postoak, Eugene Harjo, Jimmy Harjo, Willy Harjo, Charles Davis, Abler Davis and David Postoak.
