Funeral services for longtime Seminole resident Peggy D. Densford, 78, are scheduled for 2 p.m. Friday at First United Methodist Church.
Rev. David Karges will officiate at the service. Burial will follow at Maple Grove Cemetery under the direction of Swearingen Funeral Home.
Densford died Tuesday, Feb. 9, 1999 at Shawnee Regional Hospital.
She was born Nov. 23, 1920 in Lucas, S.D. to Knud and Beatrice Tysdal.
A homemaker, Densford was a member of First United Methodist Church, United Methodist Women, and a Camp Fire Girls Leader and Board Member.
She has lived in Seminole for the last 50 years, moving here from Washington, D.C.
She married Dick Densford Feb. 14, 1943 in Washington, D.C. He survives her of the home.
Other survivors include one daughter, Carla Alexander, Moore; two sisters, Helen Stowell, Sun City West, Ariz., and Virginia Brown, Ponca City; and one granddaughter.
Casket bearers are listed as George Higdon, Jerry Moreland, Foy Dacus, Jerry Childers, Max Swanson and Jim Robertson.
The family requests that memorials be made to First United Methodist Church Building Fund.

Roy Denton
Funeral services for Wewoka resident Roy F. Denton, 77, are scheduled for 10 a.m. Thursday at New Life Church.
Rev. John Hutchinson will officiate at the services. Interment will follow at Oakwood Cemetery.
Denton died Monday, Nov. 1, 1999 at Holdenville General Hospital.
He was born Aug. 8, 1922 in Post, Texas to Ed and Maggie Williams Denton.
Denton was preceded in death by his parents; four sisters, Myrtle Lickey, Cleo Denton, Thelma Shelton and Louise Carson; and one brother, Norvelle Denton.
Survivors are his wife, Ora Lee Denton, of the home; one son, Michael Steven Denton, Summerland, Calif.; one daughter, Sandra Schied, Santa Barbara, Calif.; two stepsons, Steven Michael Allen, Wewoka, and Jason Lee Allen, Jacksonville, N.C.; two grandsons and three stepgrandchildren.

Vada DeShields
Funeral services for Vada Gertrude (Wood) DeShields, 97, were set for today at the First Baptist Church, Okemah.
Rev. Kenneth Romaine and Rev. Curtis Townley officiated. Interment followed at Sand Creek Cemetery under the direction of Schumacher Funeral Home, Okemah.
DeShields died Feb. 19, 1999 at Pawnee.
She was born Oct. 22, 1901 to Richard and Hattie Wood in Lowell, Ark.
On Sept. 5, 1920, she married W. T. DeShields in Boone County, Ark. He preceded her in death.
DeShields lived in and around Okemah and Cromwell area most of her adult life. For the past three years she has made her home in Fairfax.
She was a member of the First Baptist Church, Okemah.
Also preceding her in death were her parents, two brothers and three grandsons.
Survivors include: two daughters, Christina Meeks, Seminole, Evelyn Jackson, Bearden; three sons, James E. DeShields, Midwest City, Kenneth DeShields, Cromwell and James A. DeShields, Fairfax; 24 grandchildren, 30 great-grandchildren and 37 great-great-grandchildren.

Opal Dickerson
Graveside services for longtime Seminole resident Opal Maude Dickerson, 91, were held this morning at Little Cemetery.
Rev. Carl Whitfield officiated at the services. Arrangements were under the direction of Swearingen Funeral Home.
Dickerson died Sunday, Dec. 12, 1999 at Pioneer Nursing Home.
She was born Jan. 31, 1908 in Yale to Sandford Jourdin and Sarah Hudson Ricks.
A retired Avon sales representative, Dickerson was a member of garden clubs in Seminole, and the First Christian Church.
A longtime Seminole resident, she moved from Yale 70 years ago.
She was married to Roy Dickerson on Dec. 25, 1926 in Yale. He preceded her in death on March 11, 1979.
Dickerson was also preceded in death by one son, Richard Dickerson.
Survivors include one daughter, Marquetta Harmon, Seminole; five grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.

Charles Dickerson
Private family funeral services are set for Seminole native Charles Howard Dickerson, 58, under the direction of Parks Brothers Funeral Home, Stroud.
Dickerson died Saturday, Jan. 16, 1999 in Stroud.
He was born Sept. 25, 1940 in Seminole to Charles L. and Augusta (Parks) Dickerson Jr.
He served in the United States Air Force and was a businessman and heavy equipment operator.
Dickerson attended the First Christian Church, Stroud.
He was preceded in death by his father on May 30, 1998.
Survivors include his daughter, Shelly Ingraham, Stroud; His mother, of Davenport; one sister, Jo Norman, Davenport; and two grandchildren.

Montie Dillon
Graveside services for Seminole resident Montie Dillon, 79, were held Tuesday monring at Stroud Cemetery.
Rev. Quint Miller officiated at the services. Arrangements were under the direction of Parks Brothers Funeral Home in Stroud.
Dillon died Saturday, Aug. 7, 1999 in Seminole.
He was born Nov. 17, 1919 in Sallisaw to Richard and Sally (Wilson) Dillon.
He lived most of his life in Stroud moving to Seminole five years ago.
Dillon was a member of the Church of God in Stroud, and the Moose Lodge in Arizona.
He retired from Blue Bell in Seminole.
He married Bernice Langwell in Wewoka on June 28, 1940. She survives him of the home.
Dillon was preceded in death by his parents, two sisters, two brothers, one half-brother and one half-sister.
Other survivors include three sisters, Olga Baehr, Mojave, Calif., Mary Halstead, Hominy, and Leota Garant, Sacramento, Calif.; three half-brothers, Edward Dillon, Oklahoma City, Richard Dillon, Missouri, and George Dillon, Seminole; and two half-sisters, Nancy Sealy, Seminole, and Jessie Villaobas.

Davis Dindy III
Funeral services for Davis Morrell Dindy III, 15, son of former Seminole resident Davis Morrell Dindy Jr., are scheduled for 11 a.m. Saturday at Greater First Deliverance Temple, 2101 N. Bryan, Oklahoma City.
Bishop Charles W. Meadows Sr. will officiate at the service. Interment will follow at Westwood Cemetery under the direction of Temple and Sons Funeral Home, Oklahoma City.
Dindy died Wednesday, Jan. 20, 1999 in an automobile accident in Oklahoma City.
He was born Nov. 18, 1982 in Oklahoma City to Davis Dindy Jr. and Earlie G. Dindy.
Dindy was a sophomore at John Marshal high school, where he was a member of the basketball team, and a drummer with the school band.
He was preceded in death by one sister, Jennifer Dindy and grandparents Davis and Elzora Dindy.
Survivors includes his parents, of the home; one sister, Bridgette Dindy, of the home; and grandparents, John and Alice Walls, Carrollton Miss.
Pallbearers are listed as Layfayette Glover, William Allen, James Reed, Sidney Wisby, Vernette Flenory and Larry Walker Jr.
Honorary pallbearers include Frank Black, Kirk Walls, L. Burkhead, Marcus Griffis, Jerome Manous, Bobby West II, Johnathan Edmond and Aaron Jackson.
Flower bearers are scheduled to be relatives, family and his church family.

Aaron Dixon
Funeral services for former Seminole resident Aaron Frank Dixon, 60, are scheduled for 10 a.m. Tuesday at Schumacher Funeral Home Chapel.
Rev. Mike Harjo of Seminole Hitchiti Church will officiate at the church.
Interment is set for 2 p.m. at Macedonia Cemetery in Bentley.
Dixon died Thursday, Nov. 25, 1999 in Tulsa.
He was born Feb. 2, 1939 to Frank and Francis Bessie Haney (Jim) Dixon in Bentley.
A member of the Seminole Hitchiti United Methodist Church, Dixon had lived in Okemah for the past 30 years.
Dixon married Angelita Marie Cata on Aug. 21, 1960 in Nichols Hills. She survives him of the home.
Other survivors include four sons, Frank Dixon, Okemah, Miael Eugine, Christopher and Anthony Boyd "Beefie" Dixon, all of Okemah; three half-brothers, Evan Haney, Joe Haney and David Haney, all of Seminole; one sister, Neomi Harjo, Okmulgee; six grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
