Graveside services for Seminole County native Thelma L. Green, 82, were held today at Resthaven Memorial Park Trinity Chapel in Shawnee.
Tim Green officiated at the service. Arrangements were under the direction of Gaskill-Owens Funeral Chapel.
Green died Friday, Oct. 8, 1999 at an Oklahoma City hospital.
She was born April 30, 1917 in Seminole County to James and Floy (Hensley) Bradbury.
She attended Pleasant Hill School and Shawnee Public Schools.
She was employed for 10 years with Sylvania.
Later, Green was an owner-operator of Green’s Furniture and Antiques on Main Street in Shawnee for 40 years, then worked with her son at Green’s Corner.
She was a member of Aydelotte Baptist Church, where she was a member of Ruth’s Sunday School class.
She married Herman S. Green on Sept. 15, 1934 in Shawnee. He preceded her in death.
Green was also preceded in death by her parents, two brothers and one sister.
Survivors include one son, Ronald Green, Harrah; daughters Dorothy Nicely and Kathy Enright, both of Shawnee; sisters Phyllis Scheidt and Doris Whittern, both of Shawnee; six grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren.

Christie Grensberg
Funeral services for Seminole resident Christie Grensberg, 25, are scheduled for 10 a.m. Wednesday at Swearingen Funeral Home Chapel.
Rev. Joe Howard will officiate at the services. Burial will follow at Little Cemetery.
Grensberg died Saturday, June 19, 1999 in a traffic accident at SH 59 and NS 354.
She was born April 28, 1974 in Oklahoma City to Delton Dewayne and Sharon Jean (Roberts) Brock.
A carpet layer, Grensberg was a Baptist by faith.
She was married to Thomas Grensberg; presently, she was engaged to fiancé, Ronald Elliott.
Other survivors include three sons, Jerry Brock, Thomas Grensberg and Michael Grensberg, all of the home; one daughter, Christie Grensberg, of the home; two brothers, Jerry Brock, of the home and Leslie Brock, McAlester; and her grandmother, Ruby Bemo.

Zane Grey
Word was just received of the death of Wewoka native Zane Grey, 75.
Graveside services were held Aug. 11, at Gable Cemetery with Rev. Randall Miller officiating at the service.
Arrangements were under the direction of Parks Brother Funeral Home in Prague.
Grey died Sunday, Aug. 8, 1999 in Shawnee.
He was born July 22, 1924 in Wewoka to Eli and Essie (Wright) Grey.
A veteran, Grey served during World War II in the US Navy.
He was a retired truck driver and a member of the Freewill Baptist Church in Prague.
Grey married Shirley Owens on Sept. 17, 1955. She survives him of the home.
He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers and two sisters.
Other survivors include four sons, Jack Grey, Lebanon, Mo., Larry Grey, Atlanta, Ga., Ricky Grey, Prague, and Michael Grey, Prague; one daughter, Sabrina Grey, Prague; two brothers, Jim Grey, Oklahoma City and Curtis Grey, Peoria, Ariz.; one sister, Mary Cross, Davis; and one grandson.

Philemon Griffis
Graveside services for former Seminole County resident Philemon Griffis, 47, are scheduled for 1 p.m. Tuesday at El Reno Cemetery.
Rev. Myong Kim and Rev. Maceo McDaniel will officiate at the service. Burial is under the direction of Temple and Sons Funeral Home, Oklahoma City.
Griffis died Thursday, Jan. 28, 1999 at his home in Del City.
He was born April 28, 1951 in rural Wewoka to Hovert and Beulah (Elam) Griffis.
Griffis lived in Lima until he graduated at New Lima School.
He attended OU for two years, and joined the US Army. He retired after 20 years of service.
Griffis met and married Tae Park in Korea in May 1974. She survives him of the home.
Griffis was preceded in death by his parents, and two brothers, Elmer and Johnell.
Other survivors include one son, Larry; two daughters, Sharetta and Janelle; three brothers, Sylvester, Raymond and Eugene; six sisters, Clairetha, Joyce, Joann, Glorise Fay, Mary Ellen and Regina.

Griffis
Mildred Grimes
Graveside services for former Wewoka resident Mildred Louise (Wilcox) Grimes, 85, are scheduled for 10 a.m. Wednesday at Oakwood Cemetery.
Rev. Henry Bell will officiate at the services. Arrangements are under the direction of Stout Funeral Home.
Grimes died Sunday, Aug. 8, 1999 at Epworth Villa in Oklahoma City.
She was born July 10, 1914 in Weleetka to William and Edna (Smith) Wilcox.
Reared in Weleetka, Grimes attended school there, then went on to nursing school.
She moved to Wewoka in 1936, and was a member of the First Methodist Church in Wewoka.
She married Dr. John P. Grimes in 1938; he preceded her in death in 1981.
Grimes was also preceded in death by her parents, two brothers, Ed and Harold Wilcox; one sister, Marguite Bold; and one infant grandson.
Survivors include one son, John Grimes, Wewoka; one daughter, Charlotte Lamirand, San Francisco, Calif.; one brother, Homer Wilcox, Okemah; one sister, Elizabeth Morgan, Kingston; and four grandchildren.

Audra Grooms
Funeral services for Seminole County resident Audra Dane (Seran) Grooms, 30, are scheduled for 2 p.m. Thursday at Parks Brothers Funeral Home Chapel in Okemah.
Interment will follow at Highland Cemetery.
Grooms died Monday, Aug. 16, 1999 in Oklahoma City.
She was born Dec. 7, 1968 in Tulsa to Gerald Ellette and Paula Seran.
A 1987 graduate of Okemah High School, she had moved to Seminole County two months ago.
She married Timothy Dale Grooms on May 1, 1992 in Ft. Smith, Ark. He survives her of the home.
Grooms was preceded in death by her parents.
Other survivors include two daughters, Lauren Seran and Samantha Grooms, both of the home; and one half sister, Karissa Ellette, Midwest City.

Norman Keith "Bobby" Guess
Native Wewokan and Sasakwa High School graduate Norman Keith "Bobby" Guess died Nov. 29 from injuries sustained in a motorcycle accident in Waldorf, Md.
According to Maryland State Police Public Information Officer Craig Renner, Guess was riding on a 1980 Kawasaki motorcycle at 11:49 p.m. on Nov. 14 when he failed to negotiate a curve on Billingsly Road.
Reports state he veered off of the roadway and struck a tree.
Guess was transported to Prince Georges Hospital Center in Cheverly, Md., by Maryland State Police helicopter.
Funeral services for Guess, are scheduled for 1 p.m. Thursday at First Baptist Church in Wewoka.
Rev. Harold McClellan will officiate at the services. Interment will follow at Westwood Cemetery under the direction of Temple and Sons Funeral Directors, Inc., Oklahoma City.
He was born Sept. 27, 1959 in Wewoka to Edgar Frazier and Loretta Guess.
A graduate of Sasakwa High School, Guess was a member of the Seminole Indian Baptist Church.
He entered the US Air Force on Sept. 27, 1979, and was stationed around the world at bases in Oklahoma, Germany, Korea, Hawaii, and Maryland.
Guess retired from the military on July 1, 1999 at Andrews Air Force Base, Camp Springs, Md.
He married Freda Doakes on March 25, 1982. She survives him of the home.
Guess was preceded in death by one grandmother, Rosetta Guess.
Other survivors include two daughters, Charmetra Jan’net, High Point, N.C., and Natasha NaChole, of the home; his mother and father, both of Oklahoma City; ten brothers and sisters, Kathy Guess, Dallas, Marquet Johnson, Darrell Jackson and Rosaland Williams, all of Oklahoma City, Tamara Wallace, Midwest City, Cheryl Leonard Jackson, Ada, Sgt. Edgar Frazier Jr., stationed in Lawton, Reginald Frazier, Kimberly Bowen and Shalese Frazier, all of Oklahoma City; grandparents Mable Frazier, Ada and Robert Guess, Oklahoma City; two brothers, Rev. Famous Cochran, Ada, and Larry Lewis, Chickasha.
Pallbearers are listed as the United States Air Force.
Honorary bearers include Bros. Marquet Johnson, Darrell Jackson, Larry Lewis, Elic Guess, Luther Mason, Truman Johnson II., Christopher Johnson and Clyde Metcalf.
Flowers bearers are listed as Sisters Sheila Sturgeon, Vicky Carter, Naydean Osborne, Tammy Gentry, Shelby Patton and Felicia Wallace.
