Funeral services for Wewoka resident Edna Evelyn Jackson, 93, are scheduled for 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at Bethel Pentecostal Holiness Church.
Rev. Doyle Gadberry will officiate at the service, assisted by Evelyn Gadberry. Interment will follow at Holdenville Cemetery under the direction of Hudson-Phillips Funeral Home.
Jackson died Sunday, Feb. 28, 1999 at Wewoka Nursing Home.
She was born Feb. 7, 1906 in Holdenville to Emmy (Robertson) and Charles Rider. She was reared in Holdenville, and graduated from Holdenville High School in 1925.
Jackson volunteered her time to work on election committees for Seminole County, and was a member of the Bethel Pentecostal Holiness Church.
She was married to Jewell Franklin Jackson on Oct. 22, 1925 in Wewoka. He preceded her in death in October of 1989.
Jackson was also preceded in death by one son, Don Jackson in 1989.
Survivors include one sister, Bertha Clayton, Holdenville; three grandchildren, Mark Jackson, of the home, Joe Jackson, Enid and Pat Jackson, Yukon; one daughter-in-law, Patsy Jackson, Yukon; and five great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers are listed as Gurdon Johnson, Mark Barnhart, Dyton Coffman, Marvin Hood, Jake Smith, and Tim Brady.
Honorary Pallbearers include Harman Bevelhymer, Ray Bevelhymer, Homer Garner, Buck Walls and John Stafford.
The family requests that memorials be made in Jackson’s name to the Bethel Pentecostal Church.

Ora Jackson
Graveside services for longtime Wewoka resident Ora Lena Jackson, 87, are scheduled for 1 p.m. Saturday at Oakwood Cemetery.
Jackson died Wednesday, Oct. 6, 1999 in Rush Springs.
She was born Nov. 11, 1911 in Asher.
Jackson operated Jackson Supermarket in Wewoka for many years.
She was preceded in death by one son, Ray Smith, one brother, Clarence Gosnell and four sisters.
Survivors include two sons, Roy A. Smith, Wewoka, and Larry Jackson, Rush Springs, four sisters, Beatrice Wood, California, Beaula Fry and Vivian Jones, both of Asher, and Dolly Smith, Oklahoma City; 10 grandchildren, 20 great-grandchil-dren and eight great-great-grandchil-dren.

Hester James
Funeral services for Seminole resident Hester James, 88, are scheduled for 11 a.m. Monday at Swearingen Funeral Home.
Revs. L.T. Crawford and John Q. Simpson will officiate at the services. Burial will follow at Faye Cemetery, 10 miles north of Seminole.
James died Thursday, Dec. 23, 1999 at Seminole Medical Center.
She was born Jan. 8, 1911 in Pheba, Miss., to James Monroe and Altonia (Sprowls) Jackson.
A housekeeper, James was a member of Galilee Baptist Church and the Galilee Mission Society.
On Sept. 9, 1929, she married Jessie Boyd; he preceded her in death.
She then married Rev. Edmond James on March 2, 1942; he preceded her in death on Feb. 13, 1979.
Survivors include her great-niece and caretaker, Dorthea Winrow, Earlsboro; two brothers, James Monroe Jackson, Seattle, Wash., and Ludie Jackson, Stockton, Calif.; five sisters, Ollie Williams, Alzetta Pruitt, and Freddie Mae Harris, all of Coweta, Adell Clayton, Wagoner, and Odell Neil, Tulsa.
Casket bearers are listed as great-nephews, and flower bearers will be great-nieces. Honorary flower bearers will be the Galilee Mission Society.

John Coker
Funeral services for Konawa resident John Benjamin Coker, 73, are scheduled for 2 p.m. Friday at Pickard Chapel.
Rev. Exie Fish will officiate at the services. Burial will follow at Vamoosa Cemetery.
Evening services are slated for 6 p.m. this evening at Pickard Chapel.
Coker died Tuesday, June 29, 1999 at Oklahoma City.
He was born Aug. 8, 1925 in Konawa to Mamie and Rev. Daniel Coker.
A lifelong Konawa resident, he served in the US Army during World War II, and was a member of the High Springs Baptist Church.
Coker retired as a Civil Service Worker.
He was preceded in death by his parents, one sister, Irene Armstrong, and one brother, Lewis J. Coker.
Survivors include three nephews, Bill Armstrong, Frank Armstrong and Danny Armstrong, all of Konawa; and five nieces, Betty Jean Burgess, of the home, Katie Harmon, Ada, Netty Mooreland and Edna Odell, both of Asher, and Karen Sue Coker, Geary.
Pallbearers at the chapel are listed as Donny Smith, Dorsey Nero, Clay Horton, Leo Burgess, Frank Burgess, and Kenneth Coker.
At the cemetery, Coker will have military pallbearers.
Honorary bearers include Bill Houston, George Coker, Bill Ellie, Joe Cully and Lucky Spooner.

Edna Johnson
Funeral services for former Seminole resident Edna Mae Johnson, 79, were held this morning at Strothers Chapel, Maple Grove Cemetery.
Rev. Curtis Townley officiated at the service. Arrangements were under the direction of Swearingen Funeral Home.
Johnson died Saturday, Dec. 25, 1999 at her home in Okemah.
She was born June 14, 1920 in Necessity, Texas to Edgar Monroe and Beaulah (Roth) Pearson.
She graduated from Wolf High School, and attended Oklahoma A&M College in Stillwater.
A homemaker, Johnson was a member of the First Baptist Church in Seminole.
She was a Seminole resident until two months ago, when she moved to Okemah.
She married Ted Johnson on July 13, 1942 in Holdenville. He preceded her in death on May 28, 1980.
Johnson was also preceded in death by her parents, and one brother, Myrl H. Pearson.
Survivors include one son, Gene Johnson, Edmond; three daughters, Sandy Neal and Linda Creason of Okemah, and Judy O’Connell, San Antonio, Texas; one brother, Gene Pearson, Enid; 11 grandchildren and one great-grandson.
Pallbearers are listed as John Creason, Mark Creason, Davis Creason, Jake Neal, Jeff Johnson, Kevin Johnson and Bradley O’Neal.

A 1970 graduate of Seminole High School, he attended Seminole Junior College, and was a member of Harvey Road Baptist Church, where he served as Associate Pastor.
Johnson was a salesman for Seminole Chemical.
He married Vickie (Lankford) Johnson on June 4, 1971 in Wewoka. She survives him of the home.
Johnson was preceded in death by one son, Jonathan Johnson in 1978; his father, and one sister, June Chambers.
Other survivors include his mother, of Seminole; one son, Jeremy Johnson and one daughter, Tiffany Johnson, both of the home; one sister, Joann Conner and one brother-in-law, Tommy Chambers.
