SHAWNEE - Mass of Christian burial services for Francis "Frank" McQueeney, 85, an oil specialist who worked with oil producers in Seminole County, are scheduled for 10 a.m. Thursday at St. Benedict Catholic Church.
Celebrant will be Rev. Charles Massoth, O.S.B. Burial will follow at Calvary Cemetery under the direction of Roesch-Walker Funeral Chapel.
A vigil is scheduled for 7 p.m. tonight at the funeral chapel.
McQueeney died Monday, Jan. 4, 1999 at his Shawnee home.
He was born March 20, 1913 in Mt. Alton, Penn. to John And Sarah McQueeney.
He attended school at St. Bernard’s Catholic School in Bradford, Penn. and Clarion State University, in Pennsylvania.
McQueeney worked for 40 years with Bradley Producing Inc. and Mapco Inc. of Tulsa, specializing in New Expirations and Water Development.
His expertise was used in Seminole County with oil producers here.
McQueeney also worked nationally and internationally.
He lived in Bolivar, N.Y. for a time, then moved to Shawnee in 1953.
He married Maxine Lyons April 20, 1935 in Linestone, N.Y. She preceded him in death Dec. 12, 1998.
McQueeney was also preceded in death by his parents, one daughter, Carol Francis McQueeney; one brother, and three sisters.
Survivors include one son, Terry McQueeney, Shawnee; two brothers, Robert McQueeney, Lewis Run, Penn., and Patrick McQueeney, Utica, Penn.; two grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

J.D. McQuerry
Funeral services for former Seminole countian J.D. McQuerry, 64, are scheduled for 10 a.m. Wednesday at Immanuel Baptist Church, Shawnee.
Rev. Jeff Moore will officiate at the service. Burial will follow at Resthaven Memorial Park, Shawnee, under the direction of Roesch-Walker Funeral Home.
McQuerry died Sunday, Jan. 3, 1999 in a Shawnee hospital.
He was born April 12, 1934 in Childress, Texas to Claude and Ora Mae McQuerry.
His family moved to the Seminole area when he was a child, and he attended school at Varnum.
McQuerry moved to Shawnee in 1955, and began McQuerry Motors.
He was a member of Immanuel Baptist Church, where he served as a deacon, and the Shawnee Elks Lodge.
He married Patricia G. Bowlan on March 3, 1955 in Seminole County. She survives him of the home.
Other survivors include his daughter, Diana Austin, Bartlesville; one son, David McQuerry, Shawnee; his mother, of Shawnee; his father, of Meeker; one brother, Earl Gene McQuerry, Meeker; one sister, Claudie Bailey, Shawnee; and four grandchildren.
The family requests that memorials be made to the Immanuel Baptist Church building fund.

Charles McRay
FT. SMITH, ARK. — Funeral services for Charles E. McRay, 69, son and brother of Seminole residents, was held Wednesday at the West Ark Church of Christ with Brother David Chadwell officiating.
Interment followed at Rose Lawn Cemetery in Ft. Smith under the direction of Fentress Funeral Home.
McRay died Monday, Feb. 8, 1999 at St. Edward’s Hospital in Ft. Smith.
He was born Dec. 30, 1929 in Holdenville to John and Elva McRay.
He attended grade school and high school in Holdenville and graduated in 1949.
McRay attended East Central University in Ada for one year and Oklahoma State University in Stillwater for one year.
He enlisted in the U.S. Air Force, serving for three years as a cadet.
After his service time, he enrolled in Law School in Norman. He received his law degree in 1957.
On Aug. 29, 1954, he married Linda Hollis, Holdenville and three daughters were born to them.
With his wife and daughters, McRay moved to Ft. Smith in 1963.
He established the McRay and Associates Oil & Gas Exploration and Production Company. He was still active in this business at his death.
McRay was also preceded in death by his father, John R. McRay.
He is survived by his wife, Linda, of the home; three daughters, Karen Morris, Tallas, Texas, Kimberly Layman and Shannon McRay, both of Ft. Smith; his mother, Elva McRay, Seminole; three brothers, Harold McRay, Lawton, Wallace "Doe" McRay, Seminole and Dr. John McRay Jr., Chickasha and five grandchildren, Ryan, Zachary Charles and Clint, all of Dallas and Brittany and Lacy, both of Ft. Smith.

Donna Meade
Funeral services for longtime Seminole County resident Donna Cathryn Meade, 65, are scheduled for 1:30 p.m. Thursday at First Assembly of God, Bowlegs.
Rev. Roy Robertson and Deal Krakel will officiate at the service. Burial will follow at Tryon Cemetery, south of Stillwater, under the direction of Swearingen Funeral Home.
Meade died Tuesday, April 6, 1999 at her home.
She was born on Easter Sunday, April 1, 1934 in Bray, to Eugene Joseph and Mary Louise (Orcutt) Varvil.
Meade married Wayne Nelson Meade on June 23, 1951 when she was 17 years old. They farmed and ranched in the Seminole area until their divorce in 1984.
He preceded her in death in 1990.
In 1983, a tragic car accident left Meade a quadriplegic. Despite this injury, she served as the Postmaster in Bowlegs until her death.
Overcoming that disability made Donna an inspiration to many people.
In 1986, she was named Handicapped Employee of the Year by the United States Postal Service, an award of which she was very proud although she felt her greatest achievement was staying on the job.
Meade was also preceded in death by her father, and one brother, James Theodore Varvil in 1985.
Survivors include her mother, of Edmond; two sons and daughters-in-law, Frank and Debbie Meade, Perry, and Ralph and Janie Meade, Deer Creek North; one daughter and son-in-law, Alisa Cathryn and Dean Krakel, Denver, Colo.; one brother, Wayman Varvil, Edmond; one sister, Joyce Adams, Gore; and seven grandchildren.

Rev. C. Chalon Meadows
Funeral services for former Seminole resident and minister Rev. C. Chalon Meadows, 82, were held Tuesday morning at First Baptist Church of El Reno.
Rev. John V. Channault, pastor, officiated at the service. Burial was held Tuesday afternoon at Rest Haven Memorial Gardens in Seminole under the direction of Wilson Funeral Home, El Reno.
Meadows died Sunday, Aug. 1, 1999 at Deaconess Hospital in Oklahoma City.
He was born Aug. 27, 1916 in Haswell, Colo., to Ward M. and Ola (Posey) Meadows.
He was reared in Seminole County, and was a graduate of Oklahoma Baptist University in Shawnee, and South Western Seminary in Ft. Worth, Texas.
A veteran, Meadows served as a chaplain during World War II in the US Army Air Force.
He had pastored churches in Earlsboro, Shattuck, Hobart, Pryor, Carlsbad, New Mexico, El Reno9 and Ideal and Banner Churches in the Seminole area.
Meadows married Wanda N. Hays on May 24, 1941 in Seminole. She survives him of their El Reno home.
He was preceded in death by his parents, one brother, Walter Meadows and one sister, Madeline Meadows.
Other survivors include one son, David Meadows, Garden City, Kan.; one daughter, Linda Meadows Slane, El Reno; two sisters, Wanda Lyon, Oklahoma City and Jackie Powers, Arizona; five grandchildren and one great-grandchild.

Addie Mears
Funeral services for longtime Seminole resident Addie Irene (Barbour) Mears, 74, are scheduled for 3 p.m. Wednesday at Strother Chapel in Maple Grove Cemetery.
Rev. Arthur Schrutchins will officiate at the service. Burial will follow at Maple Grove Cemetery under the direction of Swearingen Funeral Home.
Mears died Monday, May 3, 1999 at Shawnee.
She was born Dec. 9, 1924 in Oil City to J.O. and Addie Laura (Robison) Barbour.
Mears moved to Seminole in 1968 from Ardmore. She retired from Independent Tank Company in 1989, and was a longtime employee of the former Custom Size, Inc., of Wewoka
She was married to William Floyd "Curly" Mears Jr., on Nov. 1, 1941 in Ardmore. He preceded her in death on Nov. 29, 1998.
Survivors include one son, Jerry Mears, Loco; two daughters, Judy Glenn and Joy Henderson, both of Seminole; six grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.

Christina Meeks
Funeral services for longtime Wewoka resident Christina Maxine (DeShields) Meeks, 77, are scheduled for 10 a.m. Saturday at Stout Chapel.
Brother Fred Morrison will officiate at the service. Burial will follow at Little Cemetery under the direction of Stout Funeral Home.
Meeks died Wednesday, May 5, 1999 at the Seminole Medical Center.
She was born on Nov. 16, 1921 in Salina, in Mayes County, to W. T. DeShields and Vada (Wood) DeShields.
On May 3, 1947 she married J. P. Meeks, Wewoka; he preceded her in death on Dec. 14, 1989.
Meeks was also preceded in death by her parents, a granddaughter, and a son.
Survivors include five sons, James DeShields, Fairfax, Jackie Meeks, Johnny Meeks, Seminole, Jearl Meeks and Jeff Meeks, both of Wewoka; one sister, Evelyn Jackson, Okemah, two brothers, Eugene DeShields, Midwest City and Kenneth DeShields, Cromwell; nine grandchildren and seven great grandchildren.
