Jimmie Noon

Funeral services for lifelong Cromwell resident Jimmie Palmer Noon, 91, are scheduled for 2 p.m. Friday at Little Quarsarty Baptist Church, south of Cromwell.

Rev. Fred Lindsey will officiate at the service. Interment will follow at Little Quarsarty Church Cemetery under the direction of Stout Funeral Home.

Wake services are set for 6 p.m. Thursday at Stout Chapel. He will be taken to the church at 10 a.m. Friday.

Noon died Monday, Dec. 20, 1999.

He was born April 1, 1908 in Seminole County to Wally Noon and Louisa Bender.

Noon was raised in Seminole County, attending Sam School. He began working at an early age to help with the family.

He moved to Okfuskee County area for several years before moving back to Cromwell.

Noon married Susie Brunner in the early 1930’s; she preceded him in death in October, 1953.

He then married Rosie Noon in the 1950’s; she preceded him in death in January, 1975.

Noon was also preceded in death by two sons, Wally Noon in October, 1937, and Clarence Noon in June, 1937.

Survivors include one son, Amos Noon, Denver, Colo.; one brother, Louis Chupco, Wewoka; two sisters, Nancy Marshall, Cromwell and Annie Hale, Wewoka; six grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren.

Pallbearers are listed as Junior Deere, Andy Lindsey, Tom Lindsey, Bobby Dale Russell and Thomas Harjo.

Bernice Norwood Jr.

Funeral services for former Wewoka resident Bernice Norwood Jr., 67, were held this morning at Mustard Seed Christian Fellowship Church in Lawrence, Kan.

His wife, Leverne will officiate at the services. Interment will follow under the direction of Rumsey Yost Funeral Home, Lawrence, Kan.

Norwood died Tuesday, Dec. 14, 1999 at Lawrence Memorial Hospital.

He was born Oct. 30, 1932 in Clearview to Evolue and Rev. Bernice Norwood Sr.

Raised in Wewoka, he attended Douglass Grade School, Page Junior High and graduated from Douglass High School.

Norwood enlisted in the US Air Force in May, 1949 and was given an honorable discharge in 1953.

An ordained minister, served for the state of Kansas and retired after 30 years. He served on many boards while in Kansas.

Norwood returned to Wewoka in July to celebrate his 50th high school reunion, and was the guest speaker and soloist.

He married Leverne Evans on Aug. 28, 1965. She survives him of the home.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Other survivors include three sons, Bernice Norwood III., Fort Worth, Texas, Michael Norwood and Ernie Norwood, both of Wichita, Kan.; four daughters, Lucrecia Berry, Wichita, Kan., Bridgett Moore, Lawrence, Kan., Tracie Snowton, Paris, Texas and Michelle High, Arlington, Texas; two brothers, Lafayette Norwood and Gerald Norwood, both of Wichita; and one sister, Arvilla Talvert, Wichita; and 12 grandchildren.

The family has suggested expressions of sympathy may be made to the Bernie Norwood Scholarship Fund for Higher Education, in care of Rumsey-Yost Funeral Home, PO Box 1260, Lawrence, Kan., 66044.

Johnny Notah

Memorial services for Wewoka resident Johnny Notah, 79, are scheduled for 6:30 p.m. Wednesday at Stout Chapel.

Wake services are set for 6:30 p.m. this evening at Stout Funeral Home Chapel.

Notah died Saturday, Sept. 11, 1999.

He was born Aug. 20, 1919 in Black Hat, N.M. to Tsehe and Julia Notah.

Notah was a member of the Navaho tribe, and attended Ganado Indian School in Ganado, Ariz.

A veteran, he served inn the US Army Air Corps at North Africa during World War II.

Notah had been a resident of Wewoka since 1946, and was a member of the Spring Church in Sasakwa.

Survivors include three sons, Johnny Notah Jr., Ronald Notah and Anthony C. Notah Sr.; six brothers, Sammy, Timothy, Bobby, David, Thomas and Kenneth Notah; two sisters, Anna Ruth Sanderson and Esther Dawes; 10 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

Dennis Null

CHICKASHA - Funeral services for Dennis L. Null, 72, brother of Seminole resident Betty Lou Williams, are scheduled for 10:30 a.m. Friday at Ferguson Funeral Home Chapel.

Charles Roberts will officiate at the service. Interment will follow at Ninnekah Cemetery.

Null died Wednesday, Oct. 20 1999 at his home in Chickasha.

He was born Nov. 9, 1926 in Ninnekah to Levi and Grace McLain Null.

He grew up in Ninnekah and graduated from high school there.

Null became employed with the Oklahoma National Bank and Trust in Chickasha at an early age, and worked there for over 30 years.

He retired from the bank in 1978, working for several years in his own business.

Null was a member of the Christian Church.

He was preceded in death by both parents and one brother, Billy Null.

Survivors include one sister, Betty Lou Williams, Seminole; two nieces four nephews and one sister-in-law.

Maude Null

Graveside services for Seminole resident Maude Null, 88, are scheduled for 2 p.m. Monday at Rest Haven Memorial Gardens.

Rev. Cal Hunter will officiate at the service. Burial is under the direction of Swearingen Funeral Home.

Null died Friday, July 2, 1999 at Golden Rule Nursing Home in Shawnee.

She was born March 8, 1911 in Commanche County, Texas to Lon and Lena Mae (Howell) Gowdy.

A homemaker, she was a Southern Baptist by faith, and a member of the Trinity Baptist Church.

She married Bernie Null on Jan. 10, 1933 in Drumright. He preceded her in death on May 5, 1988.

Null was also preceded in death by one grandson, Ricky Null.

Survivors include two sons and daughters-in-law, Ron and Jenny Null, Seminole, and Bill and Pat Null, Mustang; one brother, Hershel Gowdy, Tucson, Ariz.

Other survivors include one brother, Hershel Gowdy, Tucson, Ariz.; four grandchildren and their spouses, Teresa and Dale DeBord, Brent and Aimee Null, Rita and Kelly Casey and Debbie and Eric Whitt; and eight great-grandchildren, Cory Lemley, Jayson, DeBord, Andy DeBord, Britni Null, Cailee Null, Braden Null, Caleb Whitt and Trent Casey.

Billy Null

Funeral services for Billy Marion Null, 74, brother of a Seminole resident, are scheduled for 10 a.m. Saturday at Clements-Wilcox Chapel in Marble Falls, Texas.

Rev. Richard Young and Rusty Freeman will officiate at the service.

Graveside services are scheduled for 11 a.m. Monday at Ninnekah Cemetery, Ninnekah, Oklahoma.

Null was born Dec. 16, 1924 in Ninnekah to Levi Archie and Minnie Grace McLain Null.

He graduated from Ninnekah High School in 1942, where he had been an all star basketball player for three years.

A veteran, Null was drafted and entered military service at Ft. Sill in 1942. He attended Cadet and flight school at STSTC, San Marcos, Texas, and was transferred to England, where he was in charge of repairing B17’s and B24’s and fighters.

He was discharged from the Air Force in 1947.

Null married Helen Lounette Frye Dec. 21, 1945 in Greensboro, N.C.

He lived and worked in Wichita, Kan., Greensboro, and Ninnekah before taking a job with Sun Oil Company in April, 1951, at Camp Sun Field, Starr County, Texas.

After transferring to different parts of the world, Null retired in 1985 as began working as a roustabout and was an engineer tech when he retired again.

He continued to work as a consultant and inspector in the oil industry until 1992.

Null is survived by one brother, Dennis Lee Null, one sister, Betty Lou Williams, Seminole; one son, Dennis Arnold Null; two grandchildren and one great-grandchild.

Claudia Nurse

Funeral services for Seminole resident Claudia Marie Nurse, 87, are scheduled for 2 p.m. Wednesday at Swearingen Funeral Chapel.

Brother Bill Burns and Harvey Speer will officiate at the service. Burial will follow at Oakwood Cemetery, Wewoka.

Nurse died Saturday, April 17, 1999 in Oklahoma City.

She was born Sept. 10, 1911 in Alma to Elbert C. and Addie Pearl (Daugherty) Smart.

She lived in Seminole on and off since moving here from Borger, Texas in 1942.

Nurse was a member of the Seminole Full Gospel Church, and was engaged in several businesses with her husband, and also was employed by Modern Oil Company, from which she retired in 1992 at the age of 80.

She married Melvin F. Nurse on July 10, 1927 in Panhandle Texas. He preceded her in death.

Nurse was also preceded in death by her parents, a baby brother and one great-granddaughter.

Survivors include two daughters and sons-in-law, Dolores and Harold Theus, Yukon, and Doris and Jack Smith, Eufaula; two sisters and brothers-in-law, Winnie and Odes Williams, Seminole and Wanda and Bill Holder, Jonesboro; and five grandchildren, Terry Drew, Little Rock, Ark., Clipper Drumm, Oklahoma City, Christ Crenshaw, Calvin, Craig Crenshaw, Choctaw, and Clay Crenshaw, Perkins.

The family has suggested expressions of sympathy may be made to the Seminole Full Gospel Church Building Fund, in care of Brother Bill Burns, Route 2, Konawa, Okla., 74849.
