Kathryn Odom

Funeral services for Konawa resident Kathryn Lee Odom, 79, are scheduled for 2 p.m. Wednesday at the Assembly of God Church in Konawa.

Rev. Mitch Williams will officiate at the services. Burial will follow at Konawa Cemetery under the direction of Pickard Funeral Home.

Odom died Monday, Dec. 6, 1999 in Konawa.

She was born Dec. 12, 1919 in Sasakwa to Betty and Adam Jones.

A retired electronics worker, Odom moved from Purcell to Konawa 14 years ago and was a member of the Assembly of God Church.

Survivors include one daughter, Bette Crow, Mangum; two sisters, Francis Babb, Konawa and Dixie Clayton, Oklahoma City; and two grandsons.

Rev. Fred Orsburn

Funeral services for Seminole resident and former area evangelist Rev. Fred Orsburn, 84, were held Saturday at Harvestime Tabernacle, Holdenville.

Rev. Richard Turner officiated at the service. Interment followed at Yeager Cemetery under the direction of Hudson-Phillips Funeral Home.

Orsburn died Wednesday, Jan. 27, 1999 at Pioneer Nursing Home.

He was born Jan. 10, 1915 in Francis to Monroe and Emmer (Meeks) Orsburn.

Reared in Holdenville, he attended Pecan Grove Schools.

Orsburn drove a truck for Lenhart Lumber for several years before moving to Bell Gardens, Calif., and continued truck driving for Winholt Lumber.

He returned to the Holdenville area in August, 1980 and moved to Pioneer Nursing Home in December, 1995.

Orsburn was an evangelist in the Full Gospel Church, and held revivals all over Oklahoma.

He was married to Lois Trammel on Sept. 18, 1944 in Norman. She survives him of the home.

Orsburn was preceded in death by one son, Stephen, one daughter, Dorothy Jean and one brother, Ray.

Other survivors includes two sons, Kenneth Orsburn, Locust Grove, and Michael Orsburn, Holdenville; four daughters, Lana Iverson, Midwest City, Sharon Whitlock, Seminole, Shirley Watson, Seminole and Vicki Woods, Prague.

Also surviving him are two brothers, Linzy Orsburn, Arkansas and Lee Henderson, Edmond; one sister, Wilma Coppedge, Locust Grove; 16 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren.

Pallbearers include Daryl Orsburn, Brian Orsburn, Daniel Iverson, Larry Whitlock Jr., Jimmy Whitlock, Mickey Woods and Jachin Woods.

Jim Osborn

In loving memory of Jim Osborn

Jim passed away Nov. 19, 1999 in Bakersfield, Calif.

He was survived by his wife, Marie Osborn; his daughters, Vickie Osborn of Seminole, Jackie and Richard Underwood of Bakersfield; his grandchildren, Casey and Jamie Underwood, Bakersfield; brothers Donald Osborn of Wright City, and Warren Osborn, Miami; sisters Juvy Hathaway, Nebraska, Opal Poole, Quapaw and Shirley Johnson, Texas.

He was preceded in death by both parents, two brothers and a granddaughter.

Jim was the past owner of Osborn Oilfield Construction in Seminole

Jim was a lifetime member of the Professional Rodeo Cowboy Association.

He enjoyed family, friends, team roping and golf.

He will be greatly missed.

Annika Osborne

Funeral services for Annika Makayla Osborne, three weeks old, is scheduled for 1 p.m. Monday at Stout Chapel, Wewoka.

Interment will follow at Westwood Cemetery.

Osborne died Wednesday, April 14, 1999 in Nashville, Tenn.

She was born March 20, 1999 in Chattanooga, Tenn to Veronica and Marvin Osborne, Jr.

Survivors include her parents; two sisters, Codhea and Shayla Osborne, Chattanooga; one brother, Charles Osborne, Chattanooga; grandparents, Marvin and Beatrice Osborne, Wewoka, and Rev. Louis and Betty Coley, Augusta, Ga.; and great-grandparents, Lucille Hardin, Wewoka, Olivia Osborne, Oklahoma City, Mr. and Mrs. Waddell Collins, Little Rock, Ark., and Louis Coley Sr., Little Rock.

Harper Osborne

Funeral services for Wewoka resident Harper L. Osborne, 87, are scheduled for 1 p.m. Monday at Macedonia Baptist Church.

Rev. C. Provost III of Middlecreek Baptist Church will officiate at the services. Interment will follow at Westwood Cemetery under the direction of Myers Mortuary.

Osborne died Monday, March 8, 1999 at Wewoka Nursing Home.

He was born April 9, 1911 in Hazel, and lived in Sasakwa for 87 years.

Osborne was employed by Ada Brick Plant until his retirement. He was affiliated with the Seminole Baptist Church.

He was preceded in death by his parents, three brothers, and three sisters.

Survivors include two daughters, Elzora Osborne, Wewoka and Maxcine Bruner, Sasakwa; four sons, Harry Lee Osborne, Spencer, Harper Osborne Jr., Boley, Morris Osborne, Oklahoma City, and William Osborne, San Jose; one sister, Madge Grayson, Oklahoma City; 26 grandchildren, 65 great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren.

Richard ‘Kent’ Ott

Graveside services for former Cromwell resident Richard "Kent" Ott, 48, are scheduled for 11 a.m. at Butner Cemetery.

Rev. Delmar Hume will officiate at the services. Arrangements are under the direction of Stout Funeral Home.

Ott died Saturday, April 24, 1999 at Covenant Medical Center in Lubbock, Texas.

He was born Oct. 27, 1950 in Guymon to Dr. Bill and Mable Ott.

Ott graduated from Overton High School in Texas, and attended Stephen F. Austin University in Nacogdoches, Texas, and from Kilgore Police Academy.

He served as a law enforcement officer in Kilgore, and also for the Lubbock County Sheriff’s Department.

A news personality, Ott also worked in television and several radio stations, and was well known for his Sunday morning Gospel program.

He was a member of the Masonic Lodge in Kilgore and the Lubbock Scottish Rite.

Ott was preceded in death by his grandparents, Loy and Thelma Ott and Esther Menefee.

Survivors include his parents, of Lubbock; one son, Derrick Loy Ott, Lubbock; and one daughter, Pamela Kaye Ott, also of Lubbock.

James Otterman

Funeral services for Seminole resident, James "Jimmy" Otterman Jr., 20, are scheduled for 2 p.m. Thursday at the Swearingen Funeral Chapel.

Doc Webber will officiate the services.

Burial will be at 3 p.m. Friday at Fairview Cemetery in Liberty, Mo., under the direction of Swearingen Funeral Home.

Otterman died Tuesday, dec. 7, 1999 at Seminole Medical Center.

He was born on July 27, 1979 in North Kansas City, Mo., to Carolyn Joyce Webber. His mother survives him of the home in Seminole.

Otterman graduated from North Kansas City High School in Liberty, Mo., in 1998. He was involved in the Special Olympics and Concern Care Organization.

He moved to Seminole in the summer of 1998.

Other survivors include two brothers, Scott Roberson, Corpus Christi, Texas and Jehromy Otterman, Seminole; and two sisters, Karralena Kelly and Katrese Roberson, both of Liberty, Mo.

Henry Owen

Graveside services for Maud resident Henry C. Owen, 56, are scheduled for 2 p.m. Wednesday at Cummings Cemetery.

Daryl Householder will officiate at the services. Arrangements are under the direction of Knight Funeral Home, Maud.

Owen died Saturday, June 5, 1999 at his home.

He was born April 18, 1943 in Okmulgee to Bill and Bessie Owen.

He had moved to Maud five years ago from Okmulgee.

Owen was preceded in death by his parents and one brother, Carl Owen.

Survivors include one son, William Owen, Ohio; one daughter, Lyda Owen, Florida; three sisters, Alice Householder, Maud, Pearl Owen, Oklahoma City and Florence Householder, Oregon; and one brother, Glenn Owen, Okmulgee.

Dorothy "Memaw" Padgett

Funeral services for Dorothy Nell Padgett, 83, mother of former Seminole businessman Charles Padgett, were held today at Mills Funeral Home Chapel, McAlester.

Rev. Jack Shamburger officiated at the services. Burial followed at Memory Gardens Cemetery under the direction of Mills Funeral Home, McAlester.

Padgett died Saturday, Oct. 16, 1999 at McAlester Regional Hospital.

She was born Aug. 2, 1916 in Greenville, Ken. To Walter and Melissa Lewis Tate.

Growing up in Kentucky, Padgett graduated from college there.

She taught grade school for several years, and married C. Ward Padgett in Kentucky on Oct. 12, 1940.

They continued to live in Kentucky until 1951 when they moved to Zeigler, Ill., where Mr. Padgett continued in the Coal Mining Industry.

In 1960, the family moved to McAlester, where Mr. Padgett joined the Love Star Steel Company, and later Chief Mine Inspector for the State of Oklahoma.

A homemaker, Padgett was a member of the First Baptist Church of McAlester since 1960.

Padgett was preceded in death by her husband, in 1983; her parents, and one great-grandson, Gage Kelly, in 1994..

Survivors include her son and daughter-in-law, Charles and Pat Padgett, Norman; one daughter and son-in-law, Venetta and Tom Welsh, McAlester; one granddaughter and her husband, Kari and Jay Kelly, Oklahoma City; one grandson, Bradley Welsh, Tulsa; three great-granddaughters, Katelyn, Madison and Kristian Kelly, all of Oklahoma City; several nieces and nephew in other states and a host of friends and caretakers at Mitchell Convalescent Center, where she had resided for the past 12 ½ years.

Pallbearers were Kay Dotson, George Higdon, Jay Kelly, Dr. F. E. Smith, Fred Slayton and Jack Southard.
