SHAWNEE — Graveside services for Laura Rhodd, 76, mother of a Seminole resident, are set for 9 a.m. Saturday at Wakolee Cemetery, under the direction of Roesch-Walker Funeral Home.
Rhodd died Thursday, Feb. 11, 1999, in a Shawnee hospital.
She was born Dec. 14, 1922 in Meeker to Arthur and Ethel Mack. She lived in the Shawnee area all of her life.
She married Alden A. Rhodd in 1952. He preceded her in death.
Rhodd was also preceded in death by her parents, six brothers and one sister.
Survivors include her son, Alden Rhodd, Seminole, five daughters, Dorothy Geionety, Shawnee, Connie Rhodd, Davenport, Mary Estes, Cushing, Marilyn Tiger, Shawnee, Shawne Onco, Norman; 16 grandchildren, three great-grandchildren; one sister, Linda M. Slick and one brother, Anthony M. Mack, both of Shawnee.
Tribal services are scheduled for Friday evening at the Carol Patterson home.

Anna Rhodes
Funeral services for former longtime Seminole resident Anna Mae Rhodes, 92, are scheduled for 2 p.m. at Swearingen Funeral Home Chapel.
Rev. David Karges will officiate at the service. Burial will follow at Rest Haven Memorial Gardens.
Rhodes died Saturday, Sept. 18, 1999 at Ranchwood Nursing Home, in Yukon.
She was born Feb. 14, 1907 in Okemah to William and Bertha Mae (Keir) Tapley.
A homemaker, Rhodes was a member of the First United Methodist Church, and Eastern Star, where she had served as Worthy Matron.
She married Guy Rhodes in 1953 in Oklahoma City. He preceded her in death.
Also preceding her in death were her parents, one son, three brothers and three sisters.
Survivors include Robert Plank, Peidmont, and William J. Plank, Tuscon, Ariz.; one sister, Grace Smith, Alexandria, La.; seven grand-children, 14 great-grandchildren, and one great-great-grandchild.
Casket bearers are listed as Robert Welles Plank, Rusty E. Plank, Terry Plank, Doug Todd, and Christopher Woodruff.

John ‘Buster’ Rich
Graveside services for Seminole County resident John F. "Buster" Rich, 83, were held today at Little Cemetery.
Frank Stockton officiated at the service. Arrangements were under the direction of Parks Brothers Funeral Home, Prague.
Rich died Sunday, May 30, 1999 in Seminole.
He was born Feb. 12, 1916 in Konawa to William Marion and Jipsie L. (Jones) Rich.
A resident of the Little Community, Rich worked as a farmer and a welder.
He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother.
Survivors include two sisters, Esther Norman, Perry, and Geneva Baker, Konawa.

Gertrude Richard
Funeral services for former longtime Wewoka resident Gertrude Richard, 84, are scheduled for 11 a.m. Monday at Macedonia Baptist Church.
Rev. K. Gerone Free of the Greater Mt. Carmel Baptist Church, Oklahoma City, will officiate at the service. Interment will follow at Brown Cemetery under the direction of Myers Mortuary.
Richard died Thursday, Feb. 18, 1999 at Amberwood Nursing Home, Oklahoma City.
She was born Dec. 19, 1905 in Wewoka.
Richard was a librarian for 27 years, a member of the Douglas and Langston Alumni, and the Pilgrim Rest Baptist Church.
She was married to Shelby C. Richard; he survives her of the home.
Richard was preceded in death by her parents and four brothers.

Rev. John Riggin
Funeral services for former Sasakwa and Cromwell minister Rev. John Robert Riggin, 75, are scheduled for 2 p.m. Wednesday at First Baptist Church.
Dr. Kelvin Moseley will officiate at the service. Burial will follow at Sand Creek Cemetery, north of Cromwell under the direction of Swearingen Funeral Home.
The casket will remain open until 1:30 p.m. Wednesday, then will be closed.
Riggin died Saturday, Sept. 18, 1999 at Creek Nation Hospital, Okemah.
He was born Dec. 12, 1923 in Little Rock, Ark. to J.H.B. and Edna Lucinda (Lemaster) Riggin, the youngest of nine children.
A veteran, he served in the US Army Air Corp as Staff Sergeant during World War II from 1941-1948.
He attended Oklahoma Baptist University, and was a member of the Primetimers and Seniors at the church.
Riggin served as pastor for churches in Sasakwa and Cromwell, as well as Crescent, Piedmont, Geary, Copan, Milfay, Oilton and Blackburn before he retired in 1986.
He married Opal Clarice Daniels on Aug. 18, 1950 at the First Baptist Church in Enid. She survives him of their Cromwell home.
Other survivors include three sons, David Riggin, Bartlesville, Mark Riggin, Tulsa, and Bruce Riggin, Okemah; two daughters, Lauren Ruth Riggin, Okemah and Shawn Riggin, Seattle, Wash.; one brother, Charles Riggin, Austin, Texas; one sister, Thelma Spalding, Little Rock, Ark.; and seven grandchildren.

O.Z. Riggs Jr.
Funeral services for O. Z. "Zeke" Riggs, 43, father of a Seminole resident, are scheduled for 2 p.m. Saturday at Cooper Funeral Chapel.
Rev. Clint Dawkins will officiate at the service. Burial will follow at Britton Cemetery.
Riggs died Wednesday, Jan. 27, 1999 in Shawnee.
He was born July 8, 1955 in Edmond to O.Z. and Emma (Denwalt) Riggs Sr.
A 1973 graduate of Tecumseh Schools, Riggs worked as a mechanic with Williams Transmission and owned ad operated Rick’s Alignment and Brake for the past six months.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Riggs was survived by three daughters, Emmanda Potter, Stillwater, Miranda Riggs, Tecumseh, ad Britney Smith, Seminole.

Christopher Ritter
Funeral services for former Seminole resident Christopher Joe Ritter, 28, were held today at Carbondale Church of Christ in Tulsa.
Lee Keele, Matt Richardson and Rev. Jack Medlock officiated at the service. Interment followed at Floral Haven Cemetery under the direction of Heath-Griffith Funeral Service.
Ritter died Wednesday, May 19, 1999 as a result of injuries he received in an automobile accident on May 13.
He was born May 4, 1971 in Stillwater to Carol Jean Low and Clyde Joseph Ritter Jr.
He lived in Antlers until moving to Seminole when he was five years old.
Ritter attended Seminole Public Schools, and graduated from Seminole High School.
He later joined the Army Reserves, and moved to Tahlequah after his training, where he attended Northeastern State University for two years.
Ritter moved to Tulsa in 1998, and was employed with Sysco Food Service, where he was a route salesman.
He was a member of the Assembly of God Church, and has been attending the Carbondale Church of Christ since moving to Tulsa.
He met his wife, Marcy Lynn Essary on the college campus, and they were married Feb. 1, 1997. She survives him of the home.
Other survivors include one daughter, Addison Paige Ritter, of the home; his mother and her husband, Carol and LaRoy Edgell, Seminole; his father and his wife, Joe and Jeri Ritter, Ada; one brother, Chad Ritter, Seminole; two stepbrothers, Terry Edgell, Seminole, and Randy Edgell, Tulsa; one stepsister, Stacey Bizzell, Shawnee; and his grandparents, Gene and Bessie Low, Holdenville, and Lorene Ritter, Ada.
Pallbearers are listed as Brett Clark, Todd Staley, Larry Payton, Randy Sigle, Mike Myers and Eddie Gills.
The family has suggested that expressions of sympathy be made to the church of one’s choice.
James ‘Jim’ Roberts
Funeral services for Wewoka resident James "Jim" Luther Roberts, 75, are scheduled for 2 p.m. Monday at Stout Funeral Home Chapel.
Rev. Marty Gustin will officiate at the service. Interment will follow at Oakwood Cemetery.
Roberts died Thursday, Nov. 18, 1999.
He was born July 18, 1924 in Sallisaw to James and Georgia Moore Roberts.
Raised in Sallisaw, he attended school there.
After graduation, Roberts entered the US Air Force and served during World War II.
In 1945, after being discharged, he moved to Wewoka, where he married Virginia Coley.
Roberts worked in the oilfields as a driller, and was employed by Bates Drilling Co.
After retirement, he remained in Wewoka.
Roberts was a member of the American Legion Post #122.
He married Ollie Johnson on April 14, 1987 in Ada. She survives him of the home.
Roberts was preceded in death by his father and his first wife.
Other survivors include his mother, Georgia Moore Binion, of Wewoka; one daughter, Mary Sue Butner, Norman; one son, James C. Roberts; two stepchildren, David Johnson, Wewoka, and Anita Goetzcke, Okay; two grandchildren, and four stepgrandchildren.
Pallbearers are listed as Dewey Muirhead, Bob Bookout and all American Legion.
