Graveside services for Konawa resident Winnie Opal Shaw, 83, are scheduled for 2:30 Friday at Vamoosa Cemetery.
Rev. Bob Payne will officiate at the service. Interment is under the direction of Pickard Funeral Home.
Shaw died Tuesday, May 18, 1999 in Ada.
She was born April 16, 1916 in Sasakwa to Lucy Marshall and Ed Gaines.
A retired telephone operator, Shaw lived in San Diego, Calif., and moved back to Konawa in the early 1970’s.
Shaw was a member of the American Legion Auxiliary and First Baptist Church, Konawa.
She was married to Chuck Shaw; he preceded her in death.
Shaw was also preceded in death by five brothers and three sisters.
Survivors include two sisters, Eunice Raines, Konawa, and Helen Roulston, Guthrie.
Mary Shawn
MOORE - Funeral services for Wewoka native Mary Lynn (Moore) Shawn, 68, are scheduled for 10:30 a.m. Thursday at First Baptist Church, Moore.
Pastor Allan Cox will officiate at the service. Interment will be held at Maple Grove Cemetery at 3 p.m. under the direction of John M. Ireland Funeral Home and Chapel.
Shawn died Tuesday, Aug. 24, 1999 in Moore.
She was born March 19, 1931 in Wewoka to Bert and Elsie Moore.
Shawn attended Seminole High School until her senior year, when she move to Borger, Texas.
A homemaker, she volunteered for many years at Bass Baptist Hospital for many yeasr, then at Moore Municipal Hospital until it closed.
Shawn was an avid bridge player, and was a regular at the Brand Senior Citizens Center.
She married Charles W. Shawn on June 17, 1949 at Sacred Heart of Jesus Catholic Church in Prague. He survives her of the home.
Shawn was also survived by one son, Steve, two brothers, Kenneth Moore, San Antonio, and Dr. Roger Moore, Ft. Worth; and three grandchildren.
George Shell
Memorial services for former Seminole resident, George Fred Shell, 51, Midwest City, are scheduled for 10:30 a.m. Thursday at Strothers Chapel at Maple Grove Cemetery.
Interment will follow at Maple Grove Cemetery under the direction of Swearingen Funeral Home.
Shell died Tuesday, July 6, 1999, at the VA Hospital in Oklahoma City.
He was born Jan. 8, 1948 at Shawnee to Charles Fred "Pete" Shell and Mary Marjorie (McChesney) Shell.
Shell lived in Seminole for 18 years.
After graduation from high school, he served in the U.S. Air Force.
Shell is preceded in death by his father.
Survivors include Marge Shell, Jones, one son, Charles Aubry Shell, Edmond, two daughters, Angela Shell Mathis and Anna Lee Shell, both of Edmond.
Other survivors include a brother Don Shell, New Mexico and a sister, Charlotte O’Toole, Ireland.
Allie Shelton
Funeral services for Allie Nicole Shelton, daughter of Seminole residents Jeffry Lynn and Tami Jeanne (Pace) Shelton, are scheduled for 10 a.m. Saturday at Little Cemetery.
Arrangements are under the direction of Parks Brothers Funeral Home in Prague.
Shelton died Thursday, Nov. 25, 1999, at Children’s Memorial Hospital in Oklahoma City.
She was three months and one day old.
Shelton was born Aug. 24, 1999 at Mercy Health Center in Oklahoma City.
She was preceded in death by one grandfather, Willard Jennings Shelton in 1997.
Survivors include her parents of Seminole; one stepbrother, Justis Lynn Shelton, Oklahoma City; and grandparents, Buster and Naomi Pace, Seminole, and Nadeen Shelton, Bartlesville.
Paul Shepherd
Funeral services for Seminole resident Paul Hatten Shepherd, 76, are scheduled for 2 p.m. Monday at Swearingen Funeral Chapel in Seminole.
Reverend Joe Faircloth will officiate at the service. Interment will follow at Maple Grove Cemetery under the direction of Swearingen Funeral Home.
Shepherd died Wednesday June 9, 1999 at Seminole Medical Center.
He was born May 1, 1923 in Chelsea to Cluis and Bessie Shepherd.
Shepherd retired as a building contractor and moved to Seminole 14 years ago from Tulsa.
A Veteran, he served as a Sergeant in the Army. Shepherd was a member of the Congregational Methodist Church in Seminole and a member of the American Legion.
He was married to Marie Lo Lindsay who preceded him in death April 18, 1996.
Survivors include two daughters, Ann Clinkenbeard of Seminole, and Paula Milan of Safetyharbor, Florida; three siblings, Leon Shepherd of Bethel, Rev. Bill Shepherd of Shawnee, and Berniece Crow of Tecumseh; and seven grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren.
Pallbearers are listed as Dee Wilkerson, Larry and Ronnie Davidson, Billy Barneck, Stevie Shepherd, and Vince Ward.
Roy Shepherd
Funeral services for Seminole native Roy E. Shepherd, 91, were held Monday at Gaskill-Owens Funeral Chapel, Shawnee.
Rev. Rusty Williams officiated at the service. Burial followed at Fairview Cemetery.
Shepherd died Tuesday at a Shawnee hospital.
He was born Aug. 22, 1907 in Seminole to Dan and Alice (Waite) Shepherd.
He attended Mountain View School, and in 1933, he received a degree in accounting from the University of Oklahoma.
Shepherd served in the US Army Air Force.
He farmed and raised cattle near Asher for 27 years, and also ran loading machinery for a gravel-washing pit on the property.
He retired in 1973, and moved to Shawnee, where he was a member of Wesley United Methodist Church.
Shepherd married Opal Bernice Jones on Dec. 29, 1937. She survives him of the home.
He was preceded in death by his parents, four brothers and two sisters.
The family requests that memorials be made to Wesley United Methodist Church.
Kenady Shook
Funeral services for Kenady Faith Shook, infant granddaughter of Seminole resident Lequita Martin and great-granddaughter of Byron and Alma Martin, were held at Greenhill Cemetery in Muskogee.
Steve Moss officiated at the services. Arrangements were under the direction of Foster-Petering Funeral Home in Muskogee.
Shook died Sunday, Sept. 5, 1999 at St. John Medical Center in Tulsa.
She was born to Kara and Paul Shook. They survive her of the home.
She was preceded in death by one grandfather.
Other survivors include one sister, Karsyn Shook, of the home; grandparents Lequita Martin, Seminole, Wilma and Paul Hamilton, Inola, and Golden Shook, Muskogee; and great-grandparents Wilbur and Clara Cobb, Nicholasville, Ky.
Eugene Short
Funeral services for longtime Seminole County resident Eugene Bryan Short, 78, are scheduled for 2 p.m. Thursday at First United Methodist Church, Wewoka.
Wayne Parker will officiate at the services. Interment will follow at Oakwood Cemetery under the direction of Stout Funeral Home.
Short died Sunday, Feb. 21, 1999 at Seminole Medical Center hospital.
He was born March 18, 1920 in Walters to Euell B. and Lois (Hunt) Short.
A veteran, Short served in the US Army during World War II and Korea.
He was employed with the United States Post Office in Wewoka until his retirement.
A member of the Masonic Lodge, Short was an avid traveler, fisherman and bird hunter.
He married Eunice Marie Self on June 12, 1946 in Seminole. She survives home of their Seminole home.
Short was preceded in death by his parents, and two sisters, Lucille Baily and Virgina Short.
Other survivors include three nephews, Walter Eugene Bialy, New York, James Bialy, Florida and Kenneth Bialy, New York.
Pallbearers are listed as Ray Meeks, Emit Smart, Bill Perkins, Eddie Abbiss and Lynn Hensley.
Honorary bearers are Carl Lawson, Wilbanks Harrison, Stuart Henzel, Herman Harper, Fred Lacquement, James Hart, Raymond Smith, Orville Muir, Sam Cluck and Ed Lough.
