Funeral services for Susie Elizabeth Spencer, 75, are scheduled for 2 p.m. Thursday at Stout Funeral Home Chapel.
The longtime area resident died Monday, March 1, 1999 at Pioneer Nursing Home, Seminole.
Wake services are set for 7:30 p.m. tonight at the Akasvmkv Baptist Church in Wewoka. She will be at the church until 10 a.m. Thursday.
Dave Bowlegs is set to officiate at the services. Interment will follow at the Mack-Bell Cemetery, near Cromwell.
She was born Oct. 22, 1923 to Oliver Spencer and Eliza Jo Tiger in Sylvia. She live in the Sylvia area until she moved to Spaulding where she lived for 26 years before moving to Wewoka and Wetumka.
She lived in Wetumka for 15 years and moved back to Seminole County in 1998 when she became a resident of Pioneer Nursing Home.
Spencer was preceded in death by her father in 1970, her mother in 1957, her stepfather, Bennie Tiger, in 1976 and one brother, Willie Spencer.
Survivors include three daughters, Kizzie Scott and Ella Mack, both of Seminole and Effie DeWitt, Wewoka; one sister, Irene Conley, Wewoka, and two great-grandsons.
Pallbearers are Leon Bell, Robert Fixico, James Fixico, Sam B. Harjo, Simion Johnson and Richard Deere.
Honorary pallbearers are Andrew Harjo, Andy Alexander, Ike Warrior and Tema Tiger.
Philip Warren Spurrier
OKLAHOMA CITY - Funeral services for Bethany resident Philip Warren Spurrier, 45, are scheduled for 10 a.m. Friday at Belle Isle Community Church, 2600 NW 55th Place.
Rev. Steve Seaton will officiate, with services under the direction of Vondel L. Smith and Son Mortuary.
Visitation is set for 7-8:30 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home, 13125 N. MacArthur.
Spurrier died Tuesday in Oklahoma City.
He was born Sept. 6, 1953, in Magnolia, Ark., to John and Delores Spurrier.
He graduated from the University of Oklahoma and was a CPA for Tom Pharaoh CPA and Associates.
He was a member of the Belle Isle Community Church and a faithful fan of the Oklahoma University Sooners.
He married Donna Ogle on Aug. 2, 1975; she survives him, of the home.
Other survivors include his sons, Matthew and Adam, both of the home; his parents, John and Delores Spurrier, Hennessey; brothers Steve and Terry Spurrier, and several nieces and nephews.
Memorials may be made to the Belle Isle Community Church.
Alta Stacy
MAUD - Funeral services for lifelong Maud resident Alta Stacy, 78, are scheduled for 2 p.m. Monday at Trinity Baptist Church.
Rev. Leroy Kerbo will officiate at the service. Burial will follow at Cummings Cemetery under the direction of Knight Funeral Home.
Stacy died Thursday, Nov. 4, 1999 at a Shawnee care center.
She was born May 12, 1921 in Hazel to W.A. and Docie E. (Sanders) Armstrong.
A homemaker, Stacy attended services at the Church of God.
She married Vollie O. Stacy on June 8, 1937 in Maud. He preceded her in death on Jan. 19, 1991.
Stacy was also preceded in death by her parents; one son, Harvey A. Stacy on March 16, 1981; three brothers, Ed, Vernon and Troy Armstrong; and two sisters, Maxine Castor and Lilly Mae Sylvester.
Survivors include two sons, Jimmy O. Stacy and Ronald Stacy Sr., both of Shawnee; two daughters, Betty Walker, Nicoma Park, and Barbara Dooley, Locust Grove; three sisters, Lorene Robertson, Fern Smith and Dorothy Hitch, all of California; one brother, James A. Armstrong, Mustang; 16 grandchildren and a host of great- and great-great-grandchildren.
Casket bearers are listed as her grandsons.
Gloria Stanfield
Me morial services for Wewoka resident Gloria Stanfield, 67, are scheduled for 10:30 p.m. Tuesday at Stout Funeral Home Chapel.
Don Demeter will officiate at the service.
Stanfield died Thursday, Dec. 31, 1998 at Baptist Medical Center, Oklahoma City.
She was born Jan. 3, 1931 in Chicago, Ill. to Max and Bette (Schmidt) Liepertz.
Stanfield was raised in California, and attended school in San Clemente.
She moved to Wewoka in 1976, and was a resident for 23 years.
Stanfield worked for Edna Looney’s Inc., and was retired at the time of her death.
She married Charles Stanfield on April 15, 1979. He preceded her in death in November, 1992.
Stanfield was also preceded in death by her parents.
Survivors include one daughter, Lori Blackwell, Wewoka; two sons, Larry Freeman, Wewoka, and Mike Freeman, Forks, Wash.; 10 grandchildren and one great-grandson.
Jacquita Stephen
Funeral services for Maud native Jacquita J. Stephen, 55, are scheduled for 10 a.m. Wednesday at Rock Creek Baptist Church.
Rev. Reed Lynn will officiate at the services. Burial will follow at Resthaven Memorial Park under the direction of Cooper Funeral Home, Tecumseh.
The casket will remain open until service time, and will not be reopened following the service.
Stephen died Sunday, Jan. 17, 1999.
She was born Nov. 21, 1943 in Maud to Vance and Nelda (Kindle) Potter.
She was reared in Tecumseh and attended schools there, graduating in 1961.
She married Henry C. Stephen III in July, 1963, and they owned and operated Stephen Oil Company.
Since 1972, Stephen had lived in Shawnee, and was a member of Rock Creek Baptist Church and the Altrusa Club.
She was preceded in death by her parents; and her husband in 1983.
Survivors include one son, Kraig K. Stephen, Shawnee; one daughter, Tiffany Marshall, Shawnee; and one grandson.
Charlie Stevens
Funeral services for former Seminole resident Charlie Stevens, 79, were held Monday at Shurden Chapel in Henryetta.
Rev. Jack Vance officiated at the service. Burial followed at Rest Haven Memorial Gardens, Seminole, under the direction of Shurden Funeral Home.
Stevens died Friday, March 19, 1999 in Oklahoma City.
He was born May 14, 1919 in Tishomingo to Audie and William Henry Stevens.
A retired oil field worker, he was a member of the Nazarene Church in Seminole.
He was a veteran of World War II, serving with the US Army.
Stevens married Jewell Wallace on Oct. 26, 1979. She survives him of the home.
He was preceded in death by his parents; one son, Bill Stevens; one brother, Delmer Stevens; and two sisters, Willie Pullin and Mae Byerly.
Other survivors include one son, Charles Stevens, Oklahoma City; two stepsons, Glenn Nix, Sapulpa and Terry Wallace, Tiger Mountain; one stepdaughter, Mary Sue Johnson, Tiger Mountain; one sister, Cecil Little, Wewoka; three grandchildren, three great-grandchildren, sic stepgrandchildren and six stepgreat-grandchildren.
Pallbearers were Bill Stokes, Leon Elzy, Bobby Brison, Bill Nations, Raymond Brison and Jack Shoun.
Honorary bearers were Henry Deckard, M.C. Liest, Frank Clark and Otis Williamson.
Jo Stevens
SHAWNEE - Funeral services for Jo Ann Stevens, 61, sister of Seminole residents Edward Murdock and Linda Sue Murdock, are scheduled for 10 a.m. Thursday at Resthaven Funeral Home.
Rev. Ron Fleming will officiate at the service. Burial will follow at Resthaven Memorial Park.
Stevens died Monday, Nov. 8, 1999 at her Shawnee home.
She was born Feb. 16, 1938 in Concho to James Murdock and Ella (Ayers) Murdock.
Stevens attended Dale Schools during her childhood.
A homemaker, she married Hubert Stevens in 1960. He preceded her in death Dec. 2, 1997.
Stevens was also preceded in death by her parents, one brother, Charles Murdock, and one sister, Betty Ticer.
Survivors include one son, Hubert Wayne Stevens, Shawnee; three daughters, Yolanda Aguinga, Little Axe, Paula Stevens, Oklahoma City, and Judy Stevens, Shawnee; three brothers, Edward Murdock, Seminole, Jimmy Murdock, Shawnee, and Freddie Murdock, ST. Louis; four sisters, Wanda Murdock, Shawnee, Carolyn Murdock, McLoud, Catherine Murdock, Shawnee and Linda Sue Murdock, Seminole; and nine grandchildren.
Jimmy Stone
Graveside funeral services for former Seminole resident, Jimmy Earl Stone, 63, are scheduled for 1 p.m. Friday at the Little Cemetery.
Rev. Carl Whitfield will officiate at the service. Burial will be under the direction of Swearingen Funeral Home.
Stone died Monday, May 17, 1999 at his home in Shawnee.
He was born Oct. 3, 1935 in Pine Valley to Robert Jefferson Stone and Edith (Manley) Stone.
Stone worked at Lanes Poultry in Granice, Ark. He did oilfield work in Oklahoma until 1985.
He moved to Seminole in 1976 and lived here until 1994 when he moved to Shawnee.
Stone was a veteran, having served in the U.S. Army as a private from 1953 to 1955.
He was a member of the Westside Baptist Church in Shawnee.
Stone married Bertie Stone; she preceded him in death on May 20, 1998.
He was also preceded in death by parents and one brother.
Survivors include a two daughters, Roberta Blackard, Shawnee, and Vicki Whitted, Paris, Texas; two sons, John Michael Stone, Blossom, Texas, Jerry Don Stone, Colorado, Spring, Colo., two stepsons, Jerry Beaty, Haton, Ark. and Dale Beaty, Broken Bow; one sister, Shirley Stone; 10 grandchildren and one great-granddaughter.
