Robert Wilkerson

Funeral services for lifelong Seminole resident Robert Bruce Wilkerson, 55, are scheduled for 2 p.m. Monday, Oct. 4 at First Assembly of God, 4th and Evans.

Rev. Doyle Long and Rev. David Long will officiate at the service. Burial will follow at Maple Grove Cemetery under the direction of Swearingen Funeral Home.

Wilkerson died Friday, Sept. 24, 1999 at his Seminole residence.

He was born Aug. 9, 1944 at Bowden to James Wesley and Flossie Mae (Miller) Wilkerson.

A veteran, he served in the US Army and also in the National Guard.

Wilkerson was a retired laborer, and a member of the First Assembly of God Church.

He married Linda Maurine (Hendricks) Wilkerson on July 5, 1967 in Seminole. She survives him of the home.

Wilkerson was preceded in death by his parents, three brothers, one sister and one grandson.

Other survivors include one daughter and son-in-law, Sarah and Billy Davis, Seminole; one brother, Tommy Wilkerson, Shawnee; one halfsister, Nancy Quinality, Seminole; one sister-in-law, Jolene Yancy and her husband, Don; and two grandchildren, T.J. and Daniel Harrington.

Casket bearers are listed as Brad Stuteville, Chris Carney, Robert Leatherman, Jeff Dinwiddie, Thomas Harrington and Kevin Yancey.

Roland Wilkerson

Funeral services for Maud resident Roland L. "Bub" Wilkerson, 78, were held Saturday at Trinity Baptist Church.

Francis Snodgrass officiated at the service. Burial followed at Cummings Cemetery under the direction of Knight Funeral Home.

Wilkerson died Thursday, Feb. 18, 1999 at Seminole Medical Center Hospital.

He was born June 27, 1920 in Elvins, Mo. To Margaret Evelyn (Bayless) and Harry John Wilkerson.

A Maud area resident since 1977, Wilkerson moved there from Del City.

He was a veteran of the US Navy, serving during World War II.

Wilkerson retired from Tinker Air Force Base in 1976, where he had worked as an Air Craft Maintenance Supervisor.

He was a member of the Sunny Lane Baptist Church, Del City.

He married Alene Mayme Paulk on Oct. 11, 1941 in Watonga. She preceded him in death Feb. 27, 1995.

Wilkerson was also preceded in death by one son, Ronald Lee Wilkerson in 1943; two brothers, Glen Wilkerson in 1946 and Harold Wilkerson in 1990; and his parents.

Survivors include one daughter, Connie Richardson, Blanchard; three sons, Jerry Wilkerson, Blanchard, Charles Wilkerson, Tuttle, and Rick Wilkerson, Choctaw; one brother, E.J. Wilkerson, Maud; two sisters, Estel Stout, Anderson, Mo., and Betty Snodgrass, El Reno; 12 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

Casketbearers are listed as his grandsons, Ronnie, Jeff, Patrick, Shad and Bron Wilkerson, Greg Richardson, and Matt, John and Tommy Wilkerson.

Mary "Frances" Williams

Funeral services for lifelong Seminole resident Mary Frances (Ponkilla) Williams, 69, are scheduled for 2 p.m. Friday at Hithcitee Methodist Church.

Rev. Mike Harjo and Rev. T.J. Fixico will officiate at the service. Burial will follow at Little Cemetery under the direction of Swearingen Funeral Home.

Wake services are set for 6:30 p.m. at Swearingen Funeral Home.

Williams will be taken to her home at 10 a.m. Wednesday, then to the church at 10 a.m. Thursday.

She died Monday, Oct. 25, 1999 at Baptist Medical Center in Oklahoma City.

She was born Jan. 1, 1930 in Seminole to Tony Wilson Ponkilla Sr. and Mamie (Clark) Ponkilla Spencer.

A homemaker, Williams was a member of the Hitchitee Methodist Church.

She was married to Ernest Frank Williams on July 24, 1947 in Seminole County. He preceded her in death on April 12, 1996.

Williams was also preceded in death by her parents, one sister, Venis Bear; and three brothers, Tony Ponkilla Jr., James and Chester Ponkilla.

Survivors include three sons, Tony Ray Williams and Gerald Ross Williams, both of Seminole, and Roy Chon Williams, Cromwell; eight daughters, Ava Dunson, Marcella McKane, Doris Boone, Bonita Lowe, Jolanda Williams, Regina Kelley, all of Seminole, Evita Isaacs, Tecumseh and Lahoma Williams, Shawnee; one adopted daughter, Dana Fields, Seminole; one brother, Ray Ponkilla; one halfbrother, Martin Rock, Little Axe; 28 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.

Casket bearers are listed as Steve Ponkilla, Stewart Ponkilla, Robert Ponkilla, Johnson Bear, Porter Bear Jr., and Ronald Bear.

Honorary bearers will be grandsons.

Jack Williamson

Funeral services for Jack V. Williamson, 74, brother of Seminole resident Leonard Williamson, were held Monday at Parks Brothers Funeral Home Chapel in Okemah.

Rev. Carl Clay officiated at the service. Burial followed at Highland Cemetery.

Williamson died Friday, July 30, 1999 at Okemah Pioneer Nursing Home.

He was born June 10, 1925 in Okemah to John and Sara (Godwin) Williamson.

A veteran, he entered the US Air Force at an early age and served during World War II. He retired from military service as a sergeant on July 22, 1978.

Williamson was a member of the VFW Post #539, and was Baptist by faith.

He was preceded in death by his parents, one brother, Clyde Williamson; and one sister, Hazel Kennedy.

Survivors include two brothers, Sammy Williamson, Henryetta and Leonard Williamson, Seminole; and one sister, Minnie Duke, Okemah.

Carolyn Wilson

Funeral services for former Seminole resident Carolyn Lorene Wilson, 54, are scheduled for 2 p.m. Friday at Swearingen Funeral Home Chapel.

Rev. Carl Whitfield will officiate at the service. Burial will follow at Little Cemetery.

Prescott died Monday, Aug. 23, 1999 at San Antonio, Texas.

She was born Sept. 20, 1944 in Shawnee to Truitt R. and Alpha Lorene (Vaughn) Ashcraft.

Wilson attended Varnum and New Lima schools, and was employed as a secretary with J & H Trucking in San Antonio, Texas.

She was married to Teddy Earl Wilson, who survives her of the home.

She was preceded in death by both parents and her stepfather, O.J. Burkhart.

Other survivors include one daughter, Brenda JoAnn Nobles, San Antonio; one son, Gary Don Wilson, Universal City, Texas; three sisters, Louise Burkhart, Schertz, Texas, Sue Perryman, Shawnee and Oleta Jane Morrow, Rudy, Ark.; one step-sister, Rita Grisham, Seminole; four grandchildren; and her employer and best friend, Mrs. Hilde Brewer.

The family has suggested expressions of sympathy may be made to the American Cancer Society, 4323 NW 63rd Street, Suite 110, Oklahoma City, Okla., 73116-1513.

Edith Wilson

Funeral services for Konawa resident Edith Wilson, 91, are scheduled for 2 p.m. Friday at Church of Christ in Konawa.

Richard Winters will officiate at the service. Burial will follow at Konawa Cemetery under the direction of Pickard Funeral Home.

Wilson died Wednesday, April 21, 1999 in Maud.

She was born April 15, 1908 in Holland, Ark. to Willie RB Matthews and Thomas Franklin.

A homemaker, Wilson lived most of her life in the Konawa Area.

She was married to Ira Lee Wilson on Aug. 31, 1929 in Konawa. He preceded her in death on March 6, 1992.

Wilson was also preceded in death by one sister and five brothers.

Survivors include one daughter, Gena Fallis, Konawa; two sisters, Virgie Ruise, Oklahoma City, and Freeda Donaldson, Konawa; four grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren.

Pallbearers are listed as the family.

Lydia Wilson

Funeral services for Konawa resident Lydia P. (Coursey) Wilson, 89, are scheduled for 2 p.m. Monday at First Baptist Church in Konawa.

Burial will follow at Konawa Cemetery under the direction of Pickard Funeral Home.

Wilson died Thursday, Dec. 30, 1999.

She was born March 29, 1910 in Frederick to Katie D. and Andrew R. Coursey.

A housewife, Wilson lived in Konawa since 1922.

She was a member of the Konawa First Baptist Church.

She married Robert F. Wilson on Oct. 20, 1928 in Konawa. He preceded her in death .

Wilson was also preceded in death by her parents and two brothers, Martin Audrey Coursey and Oron Joseph Coursey.

Survivors include one son, Bill Wilson, Odessa, Texas; two daughters, Nelma Burns, Konawa, and Kathryn Straughn, Oklahoma City; one brother, Marvin C. Coursey, Ada; one sister, Ruby Winlock, Maud; nine grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.

Pallbearers are listed as grandsons and grandsons-in-law.

Rev. Dave Wimberly

Funeral services for former Wewoka resident Reverend Dave Wimberly, 69, are scheduled for 1 p.m. Saturday at Macedonia Baptist Church.

Rev. Henry Busby of Mt. Olive Baptist Church in Sapulpa will officiate at the services. Interment will follow at Westwood Cemetery under the direction of Myers Mortuary.

Wimberly died Sunday, May 30, 1999 at his home in Sapulpa.

He was born Feb. 7, 1930 in Shreveport, La., and had lived in Seminole County for four years.

Wimberly retired form the military in 1971, and was associate pastor on the Mt. Olive Baptist Church in Sapulpa.

He also worked as a driver for North American Van Lines.

Wimberly was active in the Bristow Lodge #74, a 32nd degree Mason with Middlewest Consistory; the D.J. Wimberly Chapter of the Royal Arch #65 of Sapulpa, and the D.J. Wimberly Commander Knights Templar #17 of Sapulpa.

He also was a member of the Carnation Chapter #76 Order of Eastern Star and Zoan Temple #100.

Survivors include his mother, Eliza Giles, Shreveport, La.; his wife, Barbara J., Wewoka; one son, Erwin Dave, Wewoka; one sister, Brazlee, Shreveport, La.; and one granddaughter.

Pallbearers are listed as the Bristow Lodge #74, and honorary bearers include the Mt. Olive Baptist Church Brotherhood Chorus, and Eugene Campbell.
