Velma Jean Alberts died Sun., August 3, 2003, at the Inola Health Care Center at the age of 93. No services are planned. Arrangements are under the direction of the Inola Funeral Home.
The daughter of Angus and Clara Mae (Newland) Bethune was born March 6, 1909, in Waverly, KS. The family moved to California when Velma was a year old. They lived in several cities and she attended school in the Bay area. Velma married Charles Edward Alberts and they made their home in Santa Barbara. Velma worked as a bookkeeper in various jobs in the L.A. area. She enjoyed reading and working crossword puzzles.
Velma is preceded in death by her parents, and sisters, Merle, Ruth, and Grace.
She is survived by her children: David Charles Alberts and wife, Sally of Monument, CO, and Karen Holland and husband, Gerald of Inola; sister, Kathryn Conliffe of Keno, OR; 4 grandchildren; and many great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.

Funeral service for Kathleen Arnold will be 2 p.m., Tues., Aug. 12, at First Assembly of God, Beggs, with Revs. Bill Storie and L.D. Davis officiating. Burial will follow at Honey Creek Cemetery, Wilson, under the direction of Musgrove-Merriott-Smith Funeral Service, Claremore.
Kathleen died Fri., Aug. 8, at Wood Manor Nursing Home, Claremore, at the age of 77.
The daughter of Leonard and Doris (Coombs) Turton was born Nov. 21, 1925, in Bromsgrove, England. Kathleen married Lewis Franklin Arnold in May of 1945 in Bromsgrove, and shortly thereafter made their home in Oklahoma. For the last 25 years Kathleen resided in Beggs. She was an active member of Beggs First Assembly of God. Kathleen had served as president of women’s ministries within the church for many years.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Lewis; and her parents.
Kathleen is survived by her sons: Stewart Arnold and wife, Ann of Claremore, and Robert Arnold and wife, Sue of Watts; grandchildren: Megan and Patrick Arnold both of Claremore, and Tim Arnold of Catoosa; and great-grandchildren: Cody Arnold of Claremore, and Lillie Arnold of Catoosa.

T.A. passed away Tuesday, July 29, 2003 at his home in Inola at the age of 58
The son of Eddie and Hazel Holt Applegate was born October 10, 1944 in Wagoner. He attended Wagoner and Inola Schools. As a young man T.A traveled to California where he worked picking peaches. While working in California he met Julia Ann Ory. They were married June 18, 1966 in Hughson, California. Shortly after their marriage They moved back to Inola. Once back home he began working as a muscle diver. He dove in area lakes and streams and sold his catch to area buyers. In his spare time T.A. loved to spend time in the outdoors. Hunting and fishing were his two favorite pastimes.
He is preceded in death by his parents.
Survivors include his wife Ann of the Home; daughter, Tonya Cox and her husband Steven of Inola; sons, Johnny Applegate of Inola, and Thomas and wife Sandy Applegate of Wagoner; grandchildren, Holly and Ethan Cox, Tommy, Amanda, Aaron, and Jeremy Applegate and T.J. Cobb; brothers, Tommy and Edward Applegate of Inola, Jimmy of Modesto, and Harry Applegate of Wagoner, and sisters, Linda Luster of Inola and Stella Whitten of Catoosa.

Fay A. Akin passed away Thursday February 15, 2007 in Claremore at the age of 79.
The daughter of Everett F. and Virgie Kidwell Dunn was born August 17, 1927 in Versailles, Missouri. As a young girl she moved to Knobknoster. There she attended and graduated from Knobknoster High School. After graduation she moved to Kansas City, where she began working. On a trip back to her hometown of Versailles, she became reacquainted with Maynard “Fritz” Akin. Once married they lived in Belleville, Illinois. As a military wife they moved to several areas. While living in the Washington DC area she began working in real estate. This would eventually lead to her opening her own real estate firm in Kansas City. After several years in Kansas City she and Fritz moved back home to Versailles, before moving to Claremore to be near there daughter a few years ago. She was a member of the Westminister Presbyterian Church in Versailles. Her family was a charter member there. Her hobbies include reading, working crossword puzzles, and visiting with her family.
She is preceded in death by her parents, and brothers, Wendell and Ben Dunn.
Survivors include her husband Fritz of the home; daughter, Terry (Trujillo) Carter and husband Wayne of Claremore; granddaughter, Tiffany (Trujillo) Mann and husband Daniel of Owasso; great-grandchildren, Ashley and Isaac Mann of Owasso; brother, Gary Dunn and wife Marilyn of St. Louis, Missouri; brother-in-law, Norman Akin of Versailles, Missouri, and many nieces and nephews.

Services for Judith Ann Appelman will be held 2:00 p.m. Thursday, November 16. 2006 at Foyil Baptist Church. Pastor Mike Clark will officiate. Burial will follow in Snyder’s Cemetery under the direction of the Chelsea Funeral Home and Crematory. Visitation will be held Wednesday until 8:00 p.m. Family will greet friends from 6-8 p.m.
The daughter of Raymond “Guy” and Lora Bryan Rutledge was born August 22, 1946 in Yuma, Arizona. As a young girl she lived a short time in Arizona, before moving to California. She attended school in San Diego and was a member of the graduating class of 1964. After graduation she spent her time between California, and Arizona. In the late 1960 she moved to Oklahoma. She began working in finance, She was employed by companies such as CFS where she was department leader, NCO formerly CRW where she was collections manager. In 1987 she moved to Chelsea. There she became active in her community making lots of Chelsea bears, and giving them to people in the area. Her hobbies also included spending time with her family, gardening, sewing, and playing with her dogs checkers, and Lilly.
She is preceded in death by her mother, Lora Bryan and nephew Terry Campbell.
Survivors include her parents Guy Rutledge and Sylvia; sister, Myrna Campbell; children, Kim Miller and husband Eddie of Chelsea, Tandra Barnes and husband Sam of Foyil, Che’ Morris and wife Lora Jean of Owasso, and Lora Morris of Chelsea; grandchildren, Jennifer, Kyle and Nathan Miller of Chelsea, Alexandra and Samantha Barnes of Foyil, and Kira and Keaton Morris of Owasso; sister, Anita Ratliff, niece, Sissy Rico; great nephews, Matt and Sean; special friends, Debbie, Josh, and Jenny Temple of Chelsea, and dog, Lilly.
