Ruby Dymond

Funeral services for Wewoka native Ruby Rebecca Dymond, 86, of Norman are scheduled for 10 a.m. Thursday at Havenbrook Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. John L. Roberts officiating. Interment will be in the Norman I.O.O.F. Cemetery under the direction of Havenbrook Funeral Home of Norman. Dymond died Monday, Jan. 22, 2001 in Norman. She was born on June 30, 1914 in Wewoka to James H. and Betty Walker Johnson. Dymond was a tribal member of the Seminole Nation and graduated from Mekusukey Mission School. She married Gordon W. Dymond on Jan. 20, 1932 in Wewoka. Dymond was a member of Okoyohoma, a social club for Native American women. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; a daughter, Patricia McIntosh; a son, Gordon W. Dymond, Jr.; seven brothers; and five sisters. She is survived by her son Michael T. Dymond of Crestline, Calif.; her daughter, Margaret P. Butler of Norman; one sister, Beulah Marie Jones of Wewoka; five grandchildren and one great-grandson.

Albert Sanderson Jr.

Funeral services for Seminole native Albert Sanderson, Jr., a resident of Shawnee, were held Tuesday at Pentecostal Church of God with Rev. Arthur Carpitcher officiating and Rev. Tom Bear, Jr. assisting. Burial followed at High Spring Cemetery under the direction of Pickard Funeral Home of Konawa. Sanderson died Saturday, Jan. 20, 2001 in Shawnee at the age of 47. He was born on June 2, 1953 in Seminole to Rosalee and Albert Sanderson. Sanderson married Ruth Ann Wahpepah on May 5, 1975 at Shawnee. He was a construction worker who lived most of his life in the Shawnee area. Sanderson was preceded in death by his son, Chebon Jason Sanderson on July 22, 1995. He is survived by his wife of Shawnee; five brothers, Bobby Sanderson of Cincinnati, Ohio, Larry Jesse of Konawa, Edmond Fox of Lexington, Harold Fox of Shawnee, and Milo Fox of Konawa; and six sisters, Shirley Wagner of Browning, Mont., Virginia Sharver and Katie Isaacs, both of Konawa, Maxine Deere of Sasakwa, Breenda Dailey of Oklahoma City and Lizzie Fox of Konawa. Pallbearers were Richard Whitman, Legus Pickering, Red Ski Wahpepah, Johnson Bear, Chester, Frye, and Joe Dale Nevaquayah. Honorary pallbearers were Eugene Reynolds, Tony Dailey, Wallace Cully David Sharver, Danny Isaacs, and Billy Don Sanderson.

Imogene Streater

On January 21, 2001, our loving wife, mother and grandmother was called home to the Lord. Ella Imogene Streater was born June 13, 1924 in Larned, Kansas to Henry Arthur and Eva Louise (Fountain) Mathis. On July 1, 1939, she married Raymond “Loyd” Streater in Wewoka, Oklahoma. She was a homemaker and worked outside the home as well. Mrs. Streater attended the First Assembly of God Church in Seminole and was a lifelong resident of Seminole County. She was preceded in death by her parents and a grandson, Randall Lee Streater. She is survived by her husband of the home; two sons and daughters-in-law, Darrell & Trevia Streater of Wewoka, and Henry & Connie Streater of Ada; two daughters and a son-in-law, Carolyn Curry of Wewoka, and Bonita & Merle Jay of Wewoka; a brother, Auldie Mathews of California; two sisters, Henryetta Duncan and Mary Lou Myrick, both of California; an aunt, Mildred Nall of Wewoka; eight grandchildren, Michael Streater, Dewayne Streater, Ricky Streater, Heath Streater, Dathan Jay, Robin Justice, Denese Cheatwood, and Stephanie Jay; 13 great-grandchildren, Amber, Jason, Justin, Dana, Brandon, Brooke, Blake & Jace Streater, Laci & Hailey Jones, Cole & Jordan Cheatwood, and Reagan Jay. Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday, January 24, 2001 at First Assembly of God Church, Pastor David Long officiating. Burial will be in the Streater Family Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to the Oklahoma Leukemia Society. She so freely gave of her love, time, thoughts and wisdom of which will be greatly missed. However, her memories will live on in our hearts forever.

Robert ‘Bob’ Hudson

Graveside services for Robert Harvey “Bob” Hudson are scheduled for 2 p.m. Wednesday at Rest Haven Memorial Gardens in Seminole with Rev. Carl Whitfield officiating. Burial will be under the direction of Swearingen Funeral Home. Hudson died Monday, Jan. 22, 2001 at Integris Health Nursing Home in Moore at the age of 81. He moved to Seminole from Oklahoma City in 1974. He was born on July 17, 1919 in Paris, Ark. to Elmer Harvey Hudson and Sarah Cora (Dallahite) Hudson. He married Doris May (Kime) on March 30, 1968 in Oklahoma City. Hudson retired from Tinker Air Force Base in 1975. He then went to work for Blue Bell I Seminole until retiring in 1980. He was a veteran of both World War II and the Korean War having served with the U.S. Army. Hudson was of the Methodist faith and a member of the American Legion. He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, John and Neil Hudson; and one infant sister. Hudson is survived by his wife of the home; three daughters, Janice Lynch and Darlene Rooney, both of More, and Nita Plumley of Durango, Colo.; five grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

O.B. Hale

Funeral services for O.B. “Dump” Hale, 87, are scheduled for 1 p.m. Monday at East Oak Church of God in Maud with Revs. Odell Vandenburg and Wayne Taylor officiating. Burial is to be at Cummings Cemetery under the direction of Knight Funeral Home of Maud. Hale died Friday, Jan. 19, 2001 at Shawnee Regional Hospital. He was born on Nov. 19, 1913 to Lee Roy Hale and Amanda Ella (Layton) Hale in Pottsburg, Texas. Hale married Nina Pearl Brooks on Jan.11, 1936 in Maud. He retired from the “KATY” railroad after 41 years of service. Hale was a member of the East Oak Church of God in Maud, the R.S.V.P., A.A.R.P., National Association of Retired Veteran Railroad Employees, and brotherhood of Maintenance of Way Employees. He was also active at the Maud Senior Citizens Center. Hale was preceded in death by his wife on July 9, 1993; his parents; six brothers; and two sisters. He is survived by one son, Charles Richard Hale of Abilene, Texas; two daughters, Virginia R. Pack of Davis, and J. Inez Bowers of Maud; 12 grandchildren; 28 great-grandchildren; 13 great-great-grandchildren; and two brothers, Clayton Hale and Lemual Hale, both of Maud. His grandsons will serve as casket bearers.

Stephen Adams

Funeral services for Seminole native Stephen Blake Adams are scheduled for 1:30 p.m. Tuesday at Cedar Pointe Baptist Church in Wichita, Kan. under the direction of Watson Funeral Home of Wichita. He died Friday, Jan. 19, 2001, at the age of 53. Adams was born on April 7, 1947 in Seminole to Chester Elmo Adams and Oleta Mable (Henley) Adams. He married Beverley Ann Abbott on Sept. 30, 1978 in Ottumwa, Iowa. Adams was a senior technical representative for Raytheon Aircraft. He was preceded in death by his parents. Adams is survived by his wife; one son, Brian Adams; one daughter, Amy Adams, all of Wichita; and two brothers, Joe Adams of Madisonville, Texas, and Bill Adams of Yukon. The family asks that those desiring to make memorials to do so to Cedar Pointe Baptist Church and American Cancer Society.

Charlie Pairet

Charlie C. Pairet, a former longtime Konawa resident, died Friday, Jan. 19, 2001 at Brownsburg, Ind. at the age of 88. Funeral services are scheduled for 11 a.m. Tuesday at Grace Community Church with Rev. Drew Isaacs officiating. Interment is to be at Konawa Cemetery under the direction of Pickard Funeral Home of Konawa. He was born on Dec. 22, 1912 in Valania, Ark. to Georgia and William Monroe Pairet. Pairet was a plumber and pipe fitter and a veteran of the U.S. Navy. He was a member of First Nazarene Church and Konawa American Legion. Pairet is survived by his wife, Wyoma Pairet of Brownsburg.; one daughter, Mildred Polly Williams of Brownsburg.; two grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.

Walter Tigner

Funeral services for Seminole County native, Walter Elvin Tigner are scheduled for Saturday at Andrew Chapel United Methodist Church in Vienna Va. Rev. Charles Nordean of First United Methodist Church of Edmond, a longtime family friend, will preside over the services. Tigner died Monday, Jan. 15, 2001 in Northern Virginia at the age of 85. He was born on April 4, 1915 to Mary and John Tigner of Seminole County. Tigner married Hazelle Konkel on Oct. 10, 1942. He spent several years doing construction work on Federal projects all over the United States, mostly in the Southwest. The couple eventually returned to Oklahoma living in Seminole, Oklahoma City, Shawnee, and Tecumseh. Tigner retired from Tinker Air Force Base in 1977. He was a lifetime member of the Good Sam travel club and spent many years enjoying RV travel and camping. A little over a year ago, they moved to Northern Virginia to be closer to their daughter’s family. Tigner is survived by his wife of 58 years, Hazelle Tigner who lives in Ashburn, Va.; his daughter and son-inlaw, Diana and David Nordean; two grandchildren; Wendy Nordean of Los Angeles; and Christopher Nordean of Falls Church, Va.; his sister and brother-in-law; Beulah and Calvin Grace of Seminole; his brother and sister-in-law, J.D. and Ione Tigner of Seminole; and a number of nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his sister, Estes Tigner Stubbs of Seminole; and his brother, Charley Tigner of California.

Thomas Reece

Funeral services for Seminole native Thomas C. Reece, 63, are scheduled for 3 p.m. Saturday in the Rosewood Chapel of Branstetter-Merritt Funeral Home 7720 South Pennsylvania, Oklahoma City. He died Thursday, Jan. 18, 2001. Reece was born Oct. 27, 1937 in Seminole to Thomas and Ruby Nell Reece. Reece was a regional sales representative for Southwest Wood and a member of Seminole Baptist Church. He was also a member of the American Legion and a veteran of the U.S. Navy. Reece enjoyed photography, roller skating, and cooking. He is survived by his wife, Mary Jim Reece of the home; a son, Vann Reece of Moore; two daughters, Alison Bryan of Oklahoma City and Laurel Baraczek of Chicago; his mother, Ruby Nell Reece of Seminole; a sister, Norma Van Hooser; a brother, Terry Reece; and six grandchildren.

Violet Rose

Violet Marie Rose, a Seminole resident, died Wednesday, Jan. 17, 2001 at Seminole Medical Center at the age of 88. Funeral services are scheduled for 10 a.m. Friday at Stout Funeral Home Chapel in Wewoka with Rev. Meredith Robinson officiating. Interment is to be at Holdenville Cemetery under the direction of Stout Funeral Home. Private family viewing services are scheduled from 6:30 to 8 p.m. tonight. She was born on June 22, 1912 in Ladonia, Texas to James Monroe and Dollie (Wilson) Lewis. Rose was reared and educated in the Bowlegs area. She married Arthur Richard Rose on Nov. 19, 1930 in Wewoka. He preceded her in death in April of 1991. Rose was a seamstress and worked at Tinker Field for three years. She spent the remainder of her life as a homemaker. Also preceding her in death was her parents; one brother, three sisters, two granddaughters, and two grandsons. She is survived by three sons, Kenneth Wayne Rose of Farmington, N.M., Jeril Richard Rose of Wewoka, and James Rose of Seminole; four daughters, Norma Jean Gaines and Joy Evans, both of Seminole, and Patsy C. Brown and Sandra Kay Blevins, both of Farmington, N.M.; one brother, W.W. Lewis of Madisonville, Texas; 17 grandchildren, 28 great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends. Pallbearers are to be her grandsons, great-grandsons, and great-grandsons-in-law.

Bobbie Lasiter

Funeral services for Seminole resident Bobbie Marie Lasiter, 68, are scheduled for 10 a.m. Saturday at Swearingen Funeral Chapel with Dr. Kelvin Moseley officiating. Burial is to be in Tate Mountain Cemetery in Wewoka under the direction of Swearingen Funeral Home. Lasiter died Wednesday, Jan. 17, 2001 at Shawnee Regional Hospital. She was born on Oct. 16, 1932 in Poteau to Robert Wallace and Laura Mae (Yarbrough) Wallace. Lasiter had lived in Seminole for over 20 years. She was a member of First Baptist Church in Seminole and worked as a medication nurse for many years. Lasiter was preceded in death by her husband, Earl Lasiter; her parents; and two brothers. She is survived by three sons Bill Beach of Cromwell, Joe Beach of Seminole, and Steven Beach of Port Orchard, Wash.; three sisters, Billie Whitley of Seminole, Shirley Lewis of Oklahoma City, and Bonnie Henderson of Alabama; several grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews and other family members.

Alvin ‘Ab’ Goodin

Alvin “Ab” Wesley Goodin, a lifelong Maud resident, died Tuesday, Jan. 16, 2001 at his home in Maud at the age of 64. Funeral services are scheduled for 10:30 a.m. Saturday at Trinity Baptist Church of Maud with Revs. Carl Whitfield and Larry Sparks. Burial is to follow at Cummings Cemetery in Maud under the direction of Knight Funeral Home. Goodin was born on Feb. 17, 1936 in Maud to John Wesley Goodin and Vaida Florence (Coleman) Goodin. He married Janetta Doris Castoe on Dec. 24, 1955 in Maud. Goodin retired in June 1999 from Georg Fischer Disa Goff Corporation in Seminole. He had worked for Cain’s Coffee for many years prior to going to work for Goff. He was preceded in death by his parents; and one brother, Donnie Leon Goodin on Feb. 12, 1965. Goodin is survived by his wife of the home; two sons, James Wesley Goodin of Davis, and Randall Wayne Goodin of Maud; two daughters, Linda Kay Seeger of Myrtle Beach, S.C., and Ladonna Gayle Cindle of Tecumseh; 13 grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; three brothers, Alton “Bud” Goodin of East Carbon, Utah, Dewey Goodin of Maud, and Delbert Goodin of Del City; three sisters, Melba J. Brooks of Maud, Norma LaFarge of Loveland, Ohio, and Sue McCraw of Stillwater. Casket bearers are listed as Jim Goodin, Wayne Goodin, Thom Seeger, Scott Goodin, Phillip Goodin, Terry Goodin, Tim Castoe, and Joe Cowan. Honorary bearers are Jackie Allison, Seth Hensley, Dee Coleman, Tom Clark, Joe Houck, Leroy Goodnight, Jon Griffin, George Dees.

Augusta Parr

Memorial services for Augusta “Gussie” Parr are scheduled for 10 a.m. Friday at St. John’s Episcopal Church at 5201 N. Brookline in Oklahoma City. Interment is to be at 4 p.m. Friday at City Cemetery in Granite under the direction of Peoples Funeral Home of Lone Wolf. Parr died Tuesday, Jan. 16, 2001. She was born in Butner on May 26, 1910 to James and Maggie Dyer. Parr graduated from Cromwell High School and Blackwood Business College. She was secretary to Gen. Key of the Works Progress Administration in the 1930s when she met her future husband. She married Ray Parr, longtime reporter and columnist for the Daily Oklahoman, on Nov. 20,1936. Parr is survived by her son, Mike Parr of Oklahoma City; one grandson; one sibling, Nolen Dyer of Ada; and many nieces and nephews. The family asks that those desiring to do so may make donations to the Oklahoma Medical Research Foundation.
