Funeral services for Viola Esther (Rhodd) Allen are scheduled for 11 a.m. Saturday at Sacred Heart Catholic Church.
Father Matthew Brown, O.S.B., and Brother Justin Jones are set to officiate.
Rosary is scheduled for 7:30 p.m. Friday at the family home in Asher.
Burial is to follow at Sacred Heart Catholic Church Cemetery in Konawa under the direction of Pickard-Swearingen Funeral Home.
Allen died Wednesday, June 5, 2002 at her home in Asher at the age of 87.
She was born May 16, 1915 in Sacred Heart to John Baptist and Adeline (Thrope) Rhodd.
She married Wallace H. Allen on Nov. 21, 1932 in Tonkawa. He preceded her in death in 1986.
She was a homemaker and a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church.
Allen was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; two sons, Richard Allen and Alexander Allen; two sisters, Hazel Williamson and Edith Nave; and one brother, Alexander Rhodd.
She is survived by one daughter, Sandra Allen Mitchell of Asher; three sons, Johnny G. Allen of Locust Grove, Wallace H. Allen Jr. of Tahlequah, and Jerry D. Allen of Muskogee; 14 grandchildren and 20 great-grandchildren; four sisters, Eva Jordan and Johnnie Mae Tallbear, both of St. Louis, and Charolette Alderson and Cleada Curly, both of Maud; and one brother, Frank Rhodd of Konawa.
Casket bearers will be her grandsons, Lenden Allen, Mark Allen, Scott Allen, Dr. Anthony Waldroup, Patrick Waldroup, Kelly Love, and Richard Allen.
Honorary bearers will be her great-grandsons, Curry Blankenship, Jonathan Allen and Wallace A. Allen and Alvin Tallbear Jr.
Alfred Allison III
Funeral services for former Seminole resident Alfred Charles Allison III, are scheduled for 10:30 a.m. Friday at the Swearingen Funeral Home Chapel.
Burial will follow at Maple Grove Cemetery, under the direction of Swearingen Funeral Home.
Allison died Monday, Sept. 16, 2002 in Columbus, Miss., at the age of 20.
He was born to Alfred Charles Allison II and Malissa Barton Allison on Oct. 10, 1981 in Ft. Walton, Fla.
Allison was a graduate of Caledonia High School, and attended the Ridgeland Baptist Church.
He is survived by his mother, Malissa, Columbus, Miss.; his father, Alfred Allison II, Washington; and one brother, Johnny Allison, Columbus, Miss.
John Anson
Funeral services for former Seminole resident John Francis Anson are scheduled for 2 p.m. Friday at St. Patrick Catholic Church, 204 E. 4th in Sand Springs.
Burial will follow in Woodland Cemetery, Sand Springs, under the direction of Reynolds Funeral Service, Tulsa.
Anson died Tuesday, Sept. 24, 2002, at his home in Mannford at the age of 79.
He was born April 18, 1923, in Covington, and lived much of his life in Seminole, where he worked in the oilfield.
He was married to Estella Nix, who survives him, of the home.
Other survivors include seven daughters, Cindy Willey, Sondra Lewis, Broken Arrow, Elaine Standridge, Mannford, Gail Anson, Choteau, Debbie Ambercrombie and Sherry Millar, Locust Grove, and Marie Metz, Salina.
Survivors include five sons, John Anson, Mannford, Jack Anson, Bristow, Gary Anson and Paul Anson, both of Stroud, and Ronnie Anson, Locust Grove; one brother, Joe Anson of Seminole; and several grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by one daughter, Judy; two brothers, Kenny and Woodrow Anson; three sisters, Alice Anson, Bessie Enochs and Opal Selfridge; and three grandchildren.
Lee Armstead
Funeral services for Lee Armstead are scheduled for 2 p.m. today at Swearingen Funeral Chapel.
Rev. Roger Harris is set to officiate.
Burial is to follow at Earlsboro Cemetery under the direction of Swearingen Funeral Home.
Armstead died Friday, Jan. 11, 2002 at Mission Hill Hospital in Shawnee at the age of 78.
He was born Dec. 4, 1923 in Harjo to Pat and Susie (Rivers) Armstead.
He worked at North Island Naval Base in San Diego, Calif. building ships.
Armstead retired in the late 70’s.
He served in the army during World War II and was a Second Class Gunner and received the World War II Victory Medal.
He attended school at Hotulka and Earlsboro.
Armstead was preceded in death by his parents; one daughter, Porsha Armstead; three brothers, Nathan, Henry and Ole Armstead; and two sisters, Alberta Armstead and Lucille Armstead Doil.
He is survived by one son, Clayton Lee Armstead of Earlsboro; one daughter, Wanda Jean Armstead of Shawnee; 26 grandchildren; and 14 great-grandchildren.
Mary Lee Atkins
CHICKASHA – Funeral services for Mary Lee Atkins are scheduled for 11 a.m. Friday at the First Presbyterian Church.
Interment is to follow at Fairlawn Cemetery under the direction of Sevier Funeral Home.
Atkins died Tuesday, June 11, 2002 in Chickasha at the age of 91.
She was born May 16, 1911 in Ashburn, Ga. to Nathan Oliver and Sallie Margaret (Fink) Rhyne.
She married Thaddie Boyd Atkins on June 20, 1929 in Atoka.
They were married for 64 ½ years before he preceded her in death on Dec. 6, 1993.
Atkins was a member of the Presbyterian Church and the American Legion Auxiliary.
She was preceded in death five sisters and three brothers.
She is survived by three sons, Daniel B. Atkins of Sulphur, Vernon Glenn Atkins of McLoud, and Robert Nick Atkins of Chickasha; three daughters, Margaret O. VanStrien of Hudsonville, Mich., Bertha M. Hightower of Chickasha, and Annie M. Wudi of Stratford; one brother, Virgil Rhyne of Coalgate; one sister, Ethel Ennis of Coalgate; 26 grandchildren; 66 great-grandchildren and five great-great grandchildren.
Mary Atkinson

Mary died Friday, Jan. 25, 2002 at her home in Seminole at the age of 95.
She was born Feb. 26, 1906 in Kingston, Ark. to John David and Sara Roseann (Bowen) Grigg.
She married her first husband, John Knight on Dev. 23, 1935.
He preceded Mary in death in June of 1959.
She married her second husband, Joe Reynolds in 1971.
He preceded her in death in 1976.
Mary married her third husband, Jim Atkinson in 1977.
He preceded her in death in 1980.
She was a farming and food service worker before retiring in 1962.
Mary was a member of the First Assembly of God Church.
She was preceded in death by her parents; three husbands; one daughter, Shirley Fitterolf; one son, Ervin Knight; one granddaughter, Marilyn Ridley; two sisters; and nine brothers.
She is survived by three sons, Jake Knight of Seminole, Joe Knight of Buckeye, Ariz., and Johnnie Knight of Royce City, Texas; two daughters, Delores Jarvie of Prescott Valley, Ariz. and Dora McKinney of Seminole; one sister, Marie Houck of Broken Arrow; 14 grandchildren, Wanda Conner and Terry Longest, both of Seminole, Rodney Longest of Muskogee, Mart Longest and JoAnn Latham, both of Phoenix, Ariz., Gina Simar of Santa Maria, Calif, Joel and Earl Knight of Buckeye, Ariz., Felice Garner of Louisiana, Melissa and Judd Knight of Greenville, Texas, Gwen Fisk of Grover City, Calif., Joe Ridley of California, and Sam Ridley of Florida; 26 great-grandchildren; 12 great-great grandchildren; and her granddaughter-in-law and caregiver, Eloise Longest.
Great-grandsons will serve as pallbearers.
Stella Austin

Austin died Wednesday, Sept. 25, 2002 in Ada at the age of 73.
She was born Nov. 17, 1928 in Nogo, Ark. to Tom and Bertha (Rains) Ford.
She married Allen Austin on July 20, 1946 in Lost Corner, Ark. He preceded her in death on March 3, 199.
Austin and her husband moved to Seminole County two days after their wedding and continued to live in the Little and Strother area the rest of their lives.
She was a cook for the Strother Public Schools and helped farm.
She was preceded in death by her parents, and infant son, and one brother, Elson Ford.
Austin is survived by four brothers, Ollison Ford and Lewie Ford, both of Russellville, Ark., Loy Ford of Pelsor, Ark., and Troy Ford of Heavner; four sisters, Bonnie Bridges of Clarksville, Ark., Jean Ragland of Atkins, Ark., and Ava Smith and Rosie Collins, both of Russellville, Ark.; and her caregiver, Jewel Roach of Cromwell.
Casket bearers are Jimmy Williams, Cecil Smith, Kenneth Hester, Dewayne Middleton, Paul Ford, and Doug Ford.
William Azlin
Funeral services for Bowlegs native Williams Azlin are scheduled for 10 a.m. Monday at Crossroads Cathedral.
Dr. Dan Sheaffer is set to officiate.
Burial is to follow at Little Cemetery under the direction of Vondel Smith & Son Mortuary.
Azlin died Wednesday, Jan. 16, 2002 at the age of 77.
He was born May 23, 1924 in Bowlegs to William Lem and Cleo Jane (Little) Azlin.
He served during World War II on the U.S.S. Mississippi.
Azlin worked for LeeWay Freight Motors as a diesel mechanic for a number of years.
He attended Crossroads Cathedral.
He is survived by his wife, Gussie of home; two sons, David of Edmond and Geary of Oklahoma City; two daughters, Jane Weston of Moore and Deborah Boswell of Houston, Texas; four grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and five sisters, Essie Dees of Shawnee and Ann Robins, El Rita, Phyllis Rowe and Sandy Azlin, all of Bristow.
