Mary Bear

Funeral services for Mary Josie Bear, sister of Bowlegs resident Kenneth McCully, were held today at the Montezoma Indian Church in Henryetta.

Rev Justin Deere officiated the services.

Interment followed at the Bear Family Cemetery, under the direction of Robert Simons Funeral Home of Henryetta.

Bear died Friday, Oct. 11, 2002 in Tulsa at the age of 59.

She was born to Barney Leader and Effie Harjo Leader.

Bear lived and raise her family in the Okemah area.

She was preceded in death by one brother, Gilbert McCulley; and one sister, Salina Sanchez.

Bear is survived by her husband, Ashely Bear, of the home; her stepmother; Grandma Leader, Liza Leader; five sons Jon, Wewoka, Timothy, Okemah, Daniel, Henryetta, Joe, Okemah, and Patrick Bear, Okmulgee; one daughter, Lisa Bear, Tulsa; six brothers, Jesse Leader, Missouri, Eddie Leader, Henryetta, Raymond Leader, Lamar, Kenneth McCully, Bowlegs, William McCully, Pryor, Eddie McCully; five sisters, Lottie May Good, Florida, Joyce McCully, Evelyn McCully, all of Oklahoma City, and Marilyn McCully, Moore; 23 Grandchildren and one great-granddaughter.

Nancy Bear

Funeral services for Nancy Sue Hulbutta Bear are scheduled for 2 p.m. Wednesday at Sand Creek Eufaula Baptist Church.

Rev. Houston Tiger and Rev. Malcolm Tiger are set to officiate.

A wake service is set for 6 p.m. tonight at Sand Creek Eufaula Baptist Church.

Interment is to follow at Oakwood Cemetery under the direction of Stout-Phillips Funeral Home.

Bear died Friday, May 31, 2002 at Sunset Nursing Home in Tecumseh at the age of 60.

She was born in Wewoka on May 20, 1942 to Johnson and Sarah Tiger Hulbutta.

Her family lived in Arizona for several years before returning to Oklahoma in 1960 and later relocating to Wewoka in 1964.

Bear attended Gilbert Schools in Arizona.

She worked in Kitchen management in the nursing home industry prior to retiring due to health reasons.

She was preceded in death by her parents; three brothers, Johnny, Raymond, and Roman Hulbutta; and one sister, Semaria Grass.

Bear is survived by one sister, Nelsie Yargee of Shawnee; and four brothers, Ramsey and Paul Hulbutta, both of Wewoka, Ron Hulbutta of Seminole and Jimsey Hulbutta of Oklahoma City.

Pallbearers are Bear’s nephews.

Willis Beaty

Funeral services for Willis Eugene "Gene" Beaty are scheduled for 11 a.m. Saturday at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints.

President Louis T. Armour is set to officiate.

Burial is to follow at Maple Grove Cemetery under the direction of Swearingen Funeral Home.

Beaty died Monday, Aug. 5, 2002 at his home at the age of 64.

He lived in Seminole County for 27 years and in Atwood for six years.

He was born Aug. 27, 1937 in Oklahoma City to Willis Francis and Hazel Marie (Beal) Beaty.

Beaty married Judith (Morrison) Beaty on Sept. 11, 1959 in LaPunte, Calif.

He was a welder and boilermaker.

He owned and operated Beaty Brothers Boiler Repair in Oklahoma for 15 years.

Beaty also raised cattle and retired about three years from Seminole County District #3.

He was a member of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints in Seminole.

He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother, Lee Frances Beaty in 1980.

Beaty is survived by his wife of the home; one son, Ralph Eugene Beaty of Manassas, Va.; four daughters, Debra June Watson of Maud, Teresa Elaine Carroll of Frisco, Texas, Lisa Marie Holley of Edmond, and Julie Ann Gonzales of Moore; one brother, George Allen Beaty of Midwest City; five sisters, Mary Ruth Manley and Lela Mae Yorba, both of Westminster, Calif., Erma Faye Ginn of St. Louis, Virginia Carol Perry of Hallett, and Delores June Hale of Stanton, Calif.; and 15 grandchildren.

Dale Begg

Funeral services for Dale Robert Begg are scheduled for 2 p.m. Monday at Billings Funeral Home in Elkhart, Ind.

Rev. Dick Barfel of the Ribbon of Hope Ministries at Elkhart General Hospital will officiate.

A graveside service will take place at the Kingfisher Cemetery in Kingfisher on Friday, Aug. 9 at 2 p.m.

Those services will be under the direction of Sanders Funeral Home in Kingfisher.

Dale Robert Begg went home to be with his Lord on Thursday, Aug. 1, 2002 at 11:45 p.m. at Elkhart General Hospital.

He died after a courageous two-year battle with cancer.

Begg was a Plant Manager at AL-KO Kober Corporation of Elkhart for the past 13 years.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Jim and Betty Begg.

Begg is survived by his loving wife, Mattie, of the home; four sons, Dale, and his wife Jody, Plymouth, Mich., Doug, and his wife Jennifer, Grand Rapids, Mich., JD and his wife Jane, Aurora, Colo., and Darrell of Great Bend, Kan.; one daughter, Diana, and her husband Dana Dawson, Great Bend, Kan.; and 10 grandchildren, Kristy, Amber, Kyle, Evan, Alaina, Sarah, Emily, Carly, Rebecca, and Luke.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests a donation be made to the Oncology Department at Elkhart General Hospital, 600 East Blvd., Elkhart, Ind. 46514.

Mary Begley

Funeral services for Mary Catherine Begley are scheduled for 10 a.m. Thursday at Swearingen Funeral Home Chapel.

Rev. Mike Matlock is set to officiate.

Burial is to follow at Rest Haven Memorial Gardens under the direction of Swearingen Funeral Home.

Begley died Sunday, Dec. 30, 2001 at her home at the age of 65.

She was born Feb. 12, 1936 in Konawa to Steven and Catherine (Walker) Caudill.

She married Leo W. Begley on Oct. 20, 1956 in Wewoka.

He preceded her in death in July of 1993.

Begley was a retired typesetter and proof reader for various newspapers, including the Chickasha Daily Express and Seminole Producer.

Before her retirement, she worked for Dustin School as a teacher’s aide.

She graduated from Maud High School in 1954.

Begley was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, two brothers, and one sister.

She is survived by two daughters, Tami VanEaton and Lisa and Rodney Soule, both of Semionle; five grandchildren, Sara, Rachel, and Megan VanEaton, and Emily and Jennifer Soule; special friend, O.G. Shamblin of Tecumseh; one brother, James Caudill of Wewoka; and six sisters, Jean Binkley of Midwest City, Nellie Blakely of Ft. Worth, Texas, Francene Crofton of San Diego, Calif., Virginia Cambron of Houston, Texas, Gloria Ledbetter of Seminole, and Joyce Leach of Holdenville.

Casket bearers are Rex Wilson, Wesley Duncan, Charles Villines, and Merle J. Harris.

Jenny Benardello

Graveside funeral services for Jenny Lorene Benardello are scheduled for 10 a.m. Friday at Rest Haven Memorial Gardens.

Rev. Dan Frisby is set to officiate.

The services is under the direction of Swearingen Funeral Home.

Benardello died Wednesday, April 24, 2002 at St. Anthony’s Hospital in Oklahoma City at the age of 85.

She was born Aug. 15, 1917 in Holdenville to Myrtle (McCassalin) Balmain.

She married John Benardello on March 25, 1942 in Lincoln, Neb.

Benardello is survived by her husband of the home; one son, John Robert Benardello of Midwest City; three grandchildren; and two sisters, Alene Capps of Midwest City and Letha King of Seminole.

Larry Bennett

Funeral services for Larry Gene Bennett were scheduled for 2 p.m. today at Fairview Baptist Church in Shawnee.

Rev. Richard Stillwell was set to officiate.

Burial was to follow at Little Cemetery under the direction of Baggerley Funeral Home in Edmond.

Bennett died Wednesday, April 3, 2002 at the age of 62.

He was born May 4, 1939 in Prague to Levi Cody and Mamie Lee (Chaffin) Bennett.

He graduated from Prairie Valley School in Little.

Bennett retired from Lucent Technologies, formerly AT&T and Western Electric, after 36 years.

On May 29, 1968, he married Betty Arrasmith in El Reno.

He served two tours of duty in the United States Army.

Bennett had been a resident of Earlsboro for the past ten years.

He was preceded in death by his parents and two sisters, Clara Presley and Lois Mott.

He is survived by his wife of the home; two sons, Cody Bennett of Earlsboro and Bill Bennett of Yukon; two daughters, LeeAnn Helvey and Deana Keeton, both of Earlsboro; 12 grandchildren; three brothers, Dean Bennett, his twin of Earlsboro; J.P. Bennett of Harrah, and Ray Bennett of Wynnewood; and two sisters, Willa Mae Cox of Coalinga, Calif. and Betty Romberg of Shawnee.
