Pink Bradley

Funeral services for Seminole native Pink J. Bradley are scheduled for 2 p.m. Monday in the Calvary Baptist Church in Andrews, Texas.

Revs. Mike Henson and Ivy Shelton will officiate the services.

Burial will be Tuesday at 2 p.m. at the Maple Grove Cemetery in Seminole, with services under the direction of McNett Funeral Home, Andrews, Texas.

Bradley died Thursday, Jan. 17, 2002 at Permian General Hospital in Andrews, Texas, at the age of 88.

He was born on Jan. 9, 1914 in Seminole.

Bradley married Nova Davis on Jan. 24, 2002 in Konawa. They moved to Andrews in 1967.

He was retired from ARCO where he was employed for 35 years.

Bradley was a member of the Calvary Baptist Church in Andrews.

Bradley is survived by his wife, Nova, Andrews, Texas; two sons, Jimmy D. Bradley, Albany, Ga., and Otis Wayne Bradley, Smith Mills, Ky; one sister, Grace Carroll, Des Moines, Iowa; five grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.

Richard ‘Dick’ Brazell

Funeral services for Richard Napoleon "Dick" Brazell are scheduled for 10 a.m. Monday at Swearingen Funeral Home Chapel.

Rev. Bill Liggett is set to officiate.

Burial is to follow at Little Cemetery under the direction of Swearingen Funeral Home.

Brazell died Thursday, March 14, 2002 at his home at the age of 78.

He was born Nov. 19, 1923 in Seminole County to Jasper William Brazell and Maggie (Thomas) Brazell Reynolds.

He married Betty Jo (Dickerson) on July 3, 1953 in Seminole.

She preceded Brazell in death on Sept. 6, 1969.

He retired in 1978 from the oilfield.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife; one son, Richard Brazell in 1995; one brother, Billie Brazell in 1994; and two sisters, Otherene Reynolds in 1981 and Wilma Smith in 1957.

Brazell is survived by two sons, Gorden Dye and Donald Brazell, both of Bristow; three daughters, Deanna Chamdler of Tulsa and Sandy Elliott and Teresa McShane, both of Bristow; two sisters, Vausey Kramer of Konawa and Nadine Collins of Shawnee; 20 grandchildren; several great-grandchildren; and several great-great-grandchildren.

Casket bearers are Terry Groves, Kenny Dickerson, Don Dickerson, J. Dee Marinko, Michael Lynn, and Erich Olds.

Elmer Brewer

Funeral services for Wewoka resident Elmer Brewer are scheduled for 2 p.m. Friday at Stout Funeral Home Chapel in Wewoka.

Rev. Johnny Chesser is set to officiate.

Burial is to follow at Holdenville City Cemetery under the direction of Stout Funeral Home.

Brewer died Tuesday, Jan. 1, 2002 at Holdenville General Hospital at the age of 84.

He was born July 18, 1917 in Stuart to Sam Brewer and Molly Moore.

He was raised in the Stuart area and attended School at Chickasha.

Brewer married Lenora (Lawrence) Brewer on March 15, 1974 in Ada.

He was a retired employer with the city of Holdenville Landfill.

He also worked as a heavy equipment operator and a farmer.

Brewer was a member of the House of Prayer Church in Wewoka.

He was preceded in death by parents Sam and Molly Brewer.

He is survived by his wife of the home; one daughter, Loretta Byerly of Holdenville; one sister, Ola Williams of California; three grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

Pallbearers are Kenny Brewer, Donald Brewer, A.L. Lucas, Curtis Ledbetter, Floyd Ledbetter and Evert Ledbetter.

Hazel Brewer

KONAWA – Funeral services Hazel Janett Brewer are scheduled for 10 a.m. Saturday at the Church of Christ.

Frank Brewer is set to officiate.

Burial is to follow at Vamoosa Cemetery under the direction of Pickard-Swearingen Funeral Home.

Brewer died Tuesday, April 2, 2002 at Valley View Regional Hospital in Ada at the age of 82.

She was born Jan. 23, 1920 in Ozark County, Mo. to Ned and Harriet (Reynolds) Davidson.

She married R.C. Brewer on Feb. 14, 1945 in Reno, Nev.

Brewer was a homemaker and a member of the Church of Christ in Konawa.

She was preceded in death by her parents; an infant son, Rethel Homer Brewer; three brothers and five sisters.

She is survived by her husband of the home; two sons, Ruben L. Brewer of Bolter City, Nev. And Roger Lee Brewer of Konawa; one daughter, Pauline Nysveen of Konawa; one sister, Flossie Davidson of Ada; nine grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren.

Casket bearers will be Gregory Brewer, Eric Christianson, Gordon Brewer, Jeff Scherrill, Anthony Landers, Tommy King, Ryan Barton, Bo Hosinger, Dustin Jones and Corey Fixico.

Betty Briggs

Graveside services for former Seminole resident Betty (Beal) Briggs are scheduled for 10 a.m. Wednesday at Little Cemetery under the direction of Swearingen Funeral Home.

Rev. David Karges will officiate the services.

Briggs died Saturday, March 23, 2002 at Unity Health Center North in Shawnee at the age of 74.

She was born to Fred Beal and Marguerite Rebekah (Wymore) Beal on May 19, 1927 in Holdenville.

Beal moved to Seminole from Holdenville as a small child and was a resident here until she recently moved to Shawnee.

She received her Master’s degree from the University of Oklahoma, and was a supervisor at the Department of Human Services in Seminole County where she retired after 26 years of service.

Beal was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Seminole, a member of the Rebekah Lodge, and a lifetime member of the American Legion.

She was preceded in death by her parents; a nephew, Randy Cleek; and a brother-in-law, Bill Cleek.

Beal is survived by two daughters, Vicki Duff and Becky McGowan, both of Shawnee; one sister, Ramona Cleek, Shawnee; six grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

Casket bearers are Patrick Duff, Steven Haney, Andy McGowan, Matthew McGowan, Brian Santiago, and Don Santiago.

Ethelda Brinker

Graveside funeral services for Ethelda Brinker are scheduled for 10:30 a.m. Friday at Maple Grove Cemetery.

Rev. Quincy Hammons is set to officiate.

Services are under the direction of Swearingen Funeral Home.

Ethelda died Tuesday, April 30, 2002 at Seminole Estates Nursing Home at the age of 74.

She was a lifelong Seminole resident who grew up east of Seminole.

She was born Aug. 8, 1927 in Seminole to T. Everett and Martha Estas (Tigner) Stubbs.

Ethelda married Chester Brinker on Nov. 8, 1945 in Seminole.

She was a retired schoolteacher. She taught all of her career at the Pleasant Grove School District west of Seminole.

She was a member of the Church of the First Born of Shawnee.

Ethelda spent the last few years of her life enjoying spending time with and helping raise her great-grandson Nicholas Brinker.

She was preceded in death by her parents and one brother, T.E. "Dick" Stubbs.

She is survived by her husband of the home in Seminole; one son and daughter-in-law, Stephen and Edna Brinker; one daughter and son-in-law, Glenda and John Nicholson of Seminole; three brothers, Hilton Stubbs of Ardmore, J.N. Stubbs of Denison, Texas, and George W. Stubbs of Durant; five sisters, Inez Ridings, Clara Streater, Annette Myrick, Mary Cullison, and Jonnie Collins, all of Seminole, and Eva Black of Atwood; grandchildren, Kevin and Jason Brinker, Shelly Nicholson, and Tracy Carroll; great-grandchildren, Nicholas Brinker, Trevor Brinker, John Robert Waldren, Jackie Waldren, Jessica Waldren, Brian Sims and Chandler Carroll.

Bernice Brooks

MARLOW – Funeral services for former Bowlegs resident Bernice Mae "Sis" Brooks are scheduled for 2 p.m. Saturday at Callaway-Smith-Cobb Chapel.

Rev. David Woods is set to officiate.

Burial is to follow at Marlow Cemetery under the direction of Callaway-Smith-Cobb Funeral Chapel.

Brooks died Thursday, March 14, 2002 at Duncan Regional Hospital at the age of 85.

She was born July 6, 1916 in Bray to C.J. "Lum" and Birdie L. Ward Morrison.

She graduated from Bray High School in 1935.

Brooks married Enoch F. Brooks in Duncan on Aug. 16, 1941.

She was preceded in death by one daughter, LaRena Moritz, in 1996.

She is survived by one son, Mickey Brooks of Marlow; two grandchildren; two brothers, M.L. Morrison and Luther Morrison, both of Marlow; and six sisters, Beatrice Maxwell, Irene Cofer, Faye Hayes, and Tommie Atkinson, all of Marlow, Leota Bowman of Durant, and Frances McCune of Lawton.
