A memorial service for James Cross will be conducted by The Veterans of Foreign Wars, Post 1311 of Wewoka at First Baptist Church of Wewoka at 10:30 a.m. Saturday.
Cross died Wednesday, July 24, 2002.
He served as a navigator on the U.S. L.S.T. #646 during World War II.
He is survived by two daughters, Wanda Spring of Seminole and Brenda Brown of Oklahoma City; four granddaughters; nine great-grandchildren; two stepgrandchildren; and four stepsons, Jerry, Dale, Glen, and Charles Smith.
James Crunk
Funeral services for James Eugene Crunk are scheduled for 10 a.m. Monday at Swearingen Funeral Chapel.
Burial is to follow at Little Cemetery under the direction of Swearingen Funeral Home.
Crunk died Thursday, May 2, 2002 in Seminole from injuries received in a car accident.
He was 51.
He was born Jan. 4, 1951 in Pittsburg, Calif. to Frank Eugene and Betty (Carnes) Harrison.
Crunk married Beverly "Sue" Irons on Oct. 15, 1971 in Seminole.
He worked in the shipping department of Wrangler for 5 ½ years. Prior to that, he worked in Blanchard for Matador Processors.
He served in the United States Army during the Vietnam War.
Crunk received the Vietnam Service Medal with one Bronze Star; Sharpshooter (rifle), National Defense Service Medal; Sharpshooter (pistol), and the Combat Infantry Badge.
He was a member of Fellowship Baptist Church in Blanchard.
He was preceded in death by his father; one brother, Frank Crunk in 1998; and one grandson, Gage Crunk in 1999.
Crunk is survived by his mother of Albion; his wife of the home; two sons, Wesley Crunk of Salem, Mo. and John Crunk of the home; one daughter, Stacey Pitmon of Blanchard; four grandchildren; one brother, Jimmy Cook of Newalla; three sisters, Jessica Cooper of Gans, Jimmie Taylor of Seminole, and Illiena Dodson of McAlester.
Bryce Cully
Funeral services for Bryce Robert Cully, the infant brother of Wewoka resident Darrian Harjo, are scheduled for 2 p.m. Monday at the Hotulke Family Cemetery.
Rev. Houston Tiger is set to officiate.
Services are under the direction Stout-Phillips Funeral Home.
The infant was born and died on Thursday, Oct. 31, 2002 at OU Medical Center.
He is survived by his mother, Shannon Cully of Oklahoma City; two sisters, Ambrey Cully of Glenrose, Texas and Darrian Harjo of Wewoka; one brother, Colton Cully of Glenrose, Texas; maternal grandparents, Roland and Cinda McGirt of Glenrose, Texas; and other Seminole County relatives.
Pallbearers include Roland McGirt, Johnathan McGirt, Bryant Panoske, and Bruce Tiger.
Honorary pallbearer is James McGirt.
Warren Cunningham
Funeral services for a Wewoka resident, Warren W. Cunningham, are scheduled for 2 p.m., Monday at Oakwood Cemetery.
Russell Vicars is set to officiate with Gerald Hill is assisting.
Interment will be at Oakwood Cemetery under the direction of the Stout-Phillips Funeral Home.
Cunningham died Friday, Aug. 23, 2002, at his home in Wewoka at the age of 86.
He was born June 5, 1916, at Annapolis, Ill. to Frank L. Cunningham and Bettie Mae Wolfe.
He was raised in Illinois until the age of 14 when he moved to Oil Center where he lived for many years.
Cunningham graduated from Vanoss Public Schools in 1935.
In 1970, he moved from Ada, to Wewoka.
He was employed by Oklahoma Corporation Commission as an inspector, where he retired from in 1982.
Cunningham and June Beau were married on March 28, 1981.
He is survived by his wife, June, of the home; one son, Larry Cunningham of Seminole; one daughter, Warna Sales, of Electra, Texas; one sister, Helena Bacon, of Arlington, Texas; seven grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Rev. Frank L. and Bettie Cunningham; one son, Howard Cunningham, in 1993; and one grandson, Warren D. Sales.
Pallbearers will be Pat Comstock, Glen Cook, Roy Kibby and First Baptist Sunday School Class.
John Cunningham
HOLDENVILLE – A memorial service for Wewoka graduate John Dennis Cunningham is scheduled for 10 a.m. Saturday at Hudson-Phillips Chapel.
Burial is to follow in the veteran section of Holdenville Cemetery under the direction of Hudson-Phillips Funeral Home.
Cunningham died Wednesday, Feb. 6, 2002 at the age of 57.
He was born on April 26, 1944 in Holdenville to Thelma and Clarence Cunningham.
He graduated from Wewoka High School in 1962.
Cunningham joined the Marines and completed his training in 1964.
In 1966, he served in Vietnam, where he was in charge of a radio jeep and was on call 24 hours a day.
Upon discharge from the Marines, Cunningham became a licensed plumber, working for different companies.
He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother.
He is survived by four sisters, Neva Floy Alt of Holdenville, Velda Ruth Hough of Bartlesville, Enide Lu Adair of Oklahoma City, and Barbara Faith Forsythe of Plano, Texas; and one brother, David Lee Cunningham of Rowlett, Texas.
Ethel Darnall
Graveside services for Seminole resident Ethel (Thomas) Darnall are scheduled for 10:30 a.m. Friday at Little Cemetery, under the direction of Swearingen Funeral Home.
Rev. Carl Whitfield will officiate the services.
Darnall died Monday, July 16, 2002, at Seminole Estates Nursing Center at the age of 104.
She was born to Walter Thomas and Cora Thomas on June 4, 1898 in Coppers Cove, Texas.
She married Lee Roy Darnall on July 7, 1915 in Klein, Texas.
Darnall came to Seminole from Sulphur in the 1930’s.
She was a homemaker, and was a wallpaper hanger for 25 years.
Darnall was a member of the Church of Christ and a former member of the Tracy Rebekah Lodge.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Lee Roy Darnall, on July 4, 1953; her parents; five sisters; three brothers; one son, Roy Darnall; and one daughter, Edith Miller Fox.
Darnall is survived by one daughter, Wilma Tappe, Seminole; six grandchildren; and several great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.
Kenneth Darnall
Funeral services for Kenneth Eugene Darnall are scheduled for 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at Immanuel Fellowship Church.
Rev. Danny Fisher is set to officiate.
Interment is to follow at Rest Haven Memorial Gardens under the direction of Stout Funeral Home.
Darnall died Sunday, April 7, 2002 at Seminole Medical Center at the age of 77.
He was born Jan. 26, 1925 in Bristow to Ira and Cassie Warner Darnall.
He lived in Wisconsin for 19 years and the rest of his life in Seminole County.
Darnall was a member of Immanuel Fellowship Church.
He was preceded in death by his parents; one brother, Cecil Darnall; and one sister, Marjorie Azlin.
He is survived by one sister, Donivee Stallings of Ozark, Mo.
Flossie Davidson
Graveside services for Sasakwa resident Flossie Flo Davidson, are scheduled for 2 p.m. Sunday at the Bakersfield Cemetery in Bakersfield, Mo.
The services are under the direction of Pickard-Swearingen Funeral Home of Konawa.
Davidson died Thursday, May 9, 2002 at Valley View Regional Hospital in Ada at the age of 89.
She was born to Ned Davidson and Harriett (Reynolds) Davidson on Jan. 29, 1913 in Bakersfield, Mo.
Davidson moved to the Sasakwa area from Walnut Ridge, Ark. 18 years ago, and was a homemaker, and a member of the Konawa Church of Christ.
She was preceded in death by her parents; and several brothers and sisters.
Davidson is survived by one brother-in-law, R.C. Brewer, Sasakwa.
