Funeral services for Wewoka resident Joel Franklin Dinwiddie are scheduled for 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at Swearingen Chapel.
Rev. Rick Harrison is set to officiate.
Burial is to follow at Wolf Cemetery under the direction of Swearingen Funeral Home.
Dinwiddie died Friday, Dec. 28, 2001 at Presbyterian Hospital in Oklahoma City at the age of 46.
He was born Feb. 26, 1955 in Wewoka to John Calvin and Bertie Lou (Wilkerson) Dinwiddie.
He married Donna Faye (Harrington) Dinwiddie on May 21, 1986 in Shawnee.
Dinwiddie was a 1974 graduate of Bowlegs High School.
He was a driller for R&R Drilling.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Dinwiddie is survived by his wife of the home; three sons, Jessie, Jacob, and John Dinwiddie, all of the home; two daughters, Kristy Balentine of Oklahoma City and Amanda Dinwiddie of the home; five brothers, Johnny Ray Dinwiddie of Bowlegs, Jim Dinwiddie of Seminole, Jerry Dinwiddie of Bowlegs, Jeff Dinwiddie of Wewoka and Jerald Dinwiddie of Seminole; one sister, Joyce Williamson of Seminole; and five grandchildren.
Casket bearers are Jimmy Dinwiddie, Johnny Dinwiddie, Jeff Dinwiddie, Jerry Dinwiddie, Jerry Williamson, Carl Galbraith, and Calvin Dinwiddie.
Honorary bearers are Jerry Williamson and Kieth Williamson.
Thomas Dobbins
HUMBLE, TEXAS – Funeral services for Thomas Vincent Dobbins, the brother of a Maud resident, are scheduled for 3 p.m. Thursday at Rosewood Funeral Chapel.
Services will also be held at 1 p.m. Saturday at the Church of Christ in Maud.
Interment is to follow at Cummings Cemetery under the direction of Rosewood Funeral Home.
Dobbins died Sunday, Jan. 13, 2002 in Humble at the age of 79.
He is survived by his wife, Frances Dobbins; one daughter, Sally Jane Kelton; and one brother, Homer Dobbins of Maud.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Parkinson’s Foundation.
Bennie Mae Doolittle
Funeral services for Bennie Mae Doolittle are scheduled for 11 a.m. Friday at Macedonia Baptist Church.
Rev. Emitt Elbert of Pleasant Grove Baptist Church is set to officiate.
Burial is to follow at Westwood Cemetery under the direction of Myers Mortuary.
Doolittle died Saturday, Aug. 17, 2002 at Seminole Medical Center at the age of 77.
She was born May 12, 1925 in Minden, La. to Jessie Jim and Ethel (Reed) Doolittle.
She attended school in California before moving to Wewoka, where she lived most of her adult life.
Doolittle married Jessie Jim James, who preceded her in death.
She worked many years for Ruth Brooks and at the Wewoka Elementary School.
She was a member of Pleasant Grove Baptist Church.
Doolittle was also preceded in death by one daughter, Alzetta Doolittle, and two sons, Oliver Doolittle and Sam Doolittle.
She is survived by one daughter, Olive Ruth Kemp of Wewoka; five sons, Gary Doolittle, Ray Doolittle, Cornell Doolittle, and Ivory Doolittle, all of Wewoka, and Charles Doolittle of San Diego, Calif.; one brother, Melvin James of Wewoka; seven sisters, Mildred Whisenton and Eleanor Jean Owens, and Joyce Frazier, all of Long Beach, Calif., Georgetta Powell of Carson, Calif., Johnnie Fay Gray and Ardella Nave, both of Las Vegas, Nev., and Maude Ponder of Oklahoma City; 18 grandchildren and 32 great-grandchildren.
Karan Ann Douthit
Funeral services for Karan Ann (Higdon) Douthit are scheduled for 2 p.m. Tuesday at Swearingen Chapel.
Rev. David Karges of First United Methodist Church will officiate.
Burial will follow in Wolf Cemetery under the direction of Swearingen Funeral Home.
Douthit died Friday, Dec. 27, 2002, at Seminole Medical Center at the age of 50.
She was born Feb. 1, 1952, in Pauls Valley to George Kenneth and Jennie Lee (Rounseville) Higdon.
She moved to Seminole from Mayesville at the age of five.
She graduated from Seminole High School in 1970 and later from Seminole State College.
She worked at Bowlegs Public Schools for several years and was a longtime member of First United Methodist Church.
She married Robert L. Douthit Sr. on June 7, 1974, at First United Methodist Church; he survives her, of the home.
Other survivors include her parents, George and Jennie Higdon of Seminole; two sons and daughters-in-law, Scott and Misty Douthit and Robert L. and Kara Douthit, all of Seminole; and one daughter, Deana Douthit, of the home; two brothers, Kenneth Higdon, Yukon, and Keith Higdon, Dallas; and two grandchildren, Tyler and Jaxon Douthit, both of Seminole.
She was preceded in death by her grandparents, Luther and Kate Higdon and Wayne and Elizabeth Powell, and her mother- and father-in-law, Truman and Leta Douthit.
Pallbearers will include Wayne Madron, George David Higdon, Bobby Armstrong, Barry Armstrong, Keith Douthit and Gary Douthit.
Honorary casketbearers include Matt Anson and David Moore.
Dorothy M. Duncan
Funeral services for Dorothy M. Duncan are scheduled for 2 p.m. Wednesday at Swearingen Funeral Chapel.

Burial is to follow at Little Cemetery under the direction of Swearingen Funeral Home.
Duncan died Sunday, May 19, 2002 at Integris Baptist Medical Center at the age of 78.
She was born Jan. 10, 1924 in Vicilia, Calif. to Westley Manning and Maggie Victoria (Jerret) Houck.
She married Silas "Sie" Duncan on Jan. 24, 1944 in Wewoka. He preceded her in death on Aug. 21, 1997.
Duncan was a homemaker and tended vending machines at Wrangler.
She was a member of Harvey Road Baptist Church and attended senior citizen activities at the Heritage House in Seminole.
She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband.
Duncan is survived by two sosn, Jimmy Ray Duncan and David Lee Duncan, both of Seminole; one daughter, Mary Catherine Hagerty of Lexington; one sister, Aplha Iona Marshall of Moore; six grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
Casket bearers will be her nephews and Robert Phillip.
Chrystal Dunn
Funeral services for former Cromwell resident Chrystal Janelle Dunn are scheduled for 2 p.m. Wednesday at the Stout-Phillips Chapel in Wewoka.
Rev. Mike Harjo is set to officiate, with assistance from Bill Hobia.
A wake service is planned for Tuesday evening at the Stout-Phillips Chapel at 6:30 p.m.
Interment will be at Snake Creek Baptist Church Cemetery under the direction of the Stout-Phillips Funeral Home of Wewoka.
Dunn passed away Aug. 24, 2002, in Talihina, at the age of 32.
She was born July 28, 1970, in Oklahoma City, to Reuben Dunn Sr. and Geraldine Harjo Dunn.
While growing up in the Cromwell area, Dunn attended Butner public schools.
She was employed by the Choctaw Nation Health Center as a certified nurse’s aide.
She was preceded in death by her sister Fanny Estell Marlow; her paternal grandparents Noah and Louisa Dunn; and her maternal grandparents Charlie and Mary Harjo.
She is survived by three sons, Derrick Jones, DeMontre Jones, and Roger Jones, all of Talihina; her daughter Kyonnea Dunn, Talihina; her father Reuben Dunn Sr., Oklahoma City; her mother Geraldine Harjo Dunn, Shawnee; four brothers, Daniel Dorsey, Shawnee, Christopher Adkins, Miami, William Marlow, Oklahoma City, and Reuben Dunn Jr., Shawnee; and three sisters, Christine Blalock, Miami, Edith Scott, Iowa, and DeWanda Marlow, McLoud.
Pallbearers will be Donald Hale, Lance Watson, Alvin Dorsey and Bruce Pipkin.
Paul Dunsmore Sr.
A private family burial is scheduled for Seminole resident Paul Thomas Dunsmore Sr.
The service is under the direction of Swearingen Funeral Home.
Dunsmore died Thursday, Jan. 10, 2002 at Veteran’s Hospital in Oklahoma City.
He was born Aug. 7, 1924 to Frank Benton Dunsmore Sr. and Ollie Mae (Paul) Dunsmore.
From 1957 until 1971 he owned and operated the Kozey Courts Motel in Electra, Texas.
Dunsmore was a driller for City Service Oil. Co. of Bartlesville.
He then did carpentry work until he retired in the late 1980’s.
He was a veteran of the Marine Corps.
During World War II, Dunsmore served in Aukland, New Zealand; Guadalcanal, British Somalian Islands; Bouganville, British Somalian Islands; Guam, Mariana Islands, and Pearl Harbor.
He was involved in landing and the capture of the enemy that held the Island of Guam.
He received a Purple Heart Medal.
Dunsmore was preceded in death by his parents and two sisters.
He is survived by one son, Paul Thomas Dunsmore Jr. of New York City, N.Y.; two daughters, Karen Mullen of Electra, Texas and Doris Armentrout of Texas; two brothers, Frank B. Dunmore Jr. of Shawnee and Jack Dunsmore of Mertyle Creek, Ore.; two sisters, Ellas Harrison of Ft. Smith, Ark. and Elma Hargus of Richardson, Texas; five grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
