Former Wewoka resident Charles Durall died Dec. 26, 2002 in Sebastopol, Calif. at the age of 88.
Durall was born March 10, 1913 in Welch.
He is survived by one son, Ivan Alan Durall of Greenbrae, Calif., Randa Durall of Guerneville, Calif., and Melo Richter of Elkhorn, Neb.; three grandchildren and two great-granchildren.
Services were under the direction of Adobe Creek Funeral Home.
Ceceila Edgmon
Funeral services for lifelong area resident Ceceila Ann (Barnes) Edgmon are scheduled for 2 p.m. Thursday at Swearingen Funeral Chapel.
Rev. Harold Turner is set to officiate.
Burial is to follow at Rest Haven Memorial Gardens under the direction of Swearingen Funeral Home.
Edgmon died Monday, Feb. 18, 2002 at Oklahoma City at the age of 59.
She was born March 31, 1943 in Little Rock, Ark. to Dave and Ollie Bell (Williamson) Barnes.
She worked at Pioneer Nursing Home and Oakridge Nursing home until 1994.
Edgmon was a member of the Temple of Praise.
She was preceded in death by her parents; one son, Jimmy Shane Edgmon in February of 1970; one daughter, Crystal Ann Edgmon in April 1988; one sister, Marie Dorr in 1990; and one brother, Bill Barnes in 1995.
She is survived by two sisters, Linda Hatfield and Pat McManus, both of Seminole and one grandson.
Casket bearers are Bobby Barnes, David Whitley, Davy Whitley, Chuck Hatfield, Jackie Gamble, Keith Whitley, and Phillip Barnes.
Burnes Edwards
PAWNEE – Funeral services for former Seminole resident Burnes Webster Edwards were scheduled for 10 a.m. Saturday at the First Assembly of God Church in Pawnee.
Rev. James Eubanks was to officiate.
Burial was to follow at Woodland Cemetery under the direction of Poteet Funeral Home.
Edwards died Tuesday, Jan. 22, 2002 in Tulsa at the age of 78.
She was born Feb. 12, 1923 in Meeker to Keith R. and Irene "Rosie" (Goss) Sorrell.
She married Clyde Webster on April 20, 1944 in Oklahoma City.
He preceded Edwards in death on Aug. 11, 1972.
She then married Johnny Edwards on Oct. 31, 1976 in Cleveland.
He preceded her in death on Feb. 5, 1987.
Edwards was a member of the First Assembly of God Church of Pawnee.
She attended the Tulsa Community College last year.
She was also preceded in death by her parents; three brothers; and one great-grandchild.
Edwards is survived by five daughters, Sharon Wright and Jane Hostutler, both of Cleveland, Beverly Wilson of Pawnee, Linda Smith of Benton City, Wash., and Brenda Thomas of Union City; two sons, Ricky and Randy Edwards, both of Pawnee; 21 grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and one sister, Jessie Holder of Pauls Valley.
Dr. Kenneth Ellis
Funeral services for Dr. Kenneth Ellis are scheduled for 3 p.m. Wednesday at Swearingen Funeral Chapel.
Rev. Carl Whitfield is set to officiate.
Burial is to follow at Little Cemetery under the direction of Swearingen Funeral Home.
Visitation is to be at Becker Funeral Home in Lawton until 9 p.m. tonight.
Ellis died Sunday, Feb. 17, 2002 at Lawton at the age of 71.
He was born Sept. 27, 1930 in Seminole to Ray and Bess Ellis.
He married Doris Ledbetter on March 20, 1953 in Meeker.
Ellis was a professor at Cameron University in Lawton.
He retired after teaching for 30 years.
He was a member of the National Education Association, Oklahoma Teachers Association, as well as other educational organizations.
Ellis was preceded in death by his father; one daughter, Teresa Ellis; and one brother, Jim Ellis.
He is survived by his mother of Shawnee; his wife of the home; one son, Chet Ellis of Lawton; and two sisters, Imogene McCartin of Sun Lake, Ariz., and Dixie Byerly of Seminole.

Frances Emmitt
Funeral services for Seminole native Frances Emmaline (Earles) Emmitt, 88, are scheduled for 2 p.m. Wednesday at Temple of Praise Church in Seminole.
Rev. Harold Turner will officiate at the services. Interment will follow at Maple Grove Cemetery, under the direction of Swearingen Funeral Home.
Frances died Sunday, March 10, 2002, at Pioneer Nursing Home.
She was born Nov. 14, 1913, in Seminole County to William H. and Ola Mae (Minnick) Earles.
Frances attended school at Pleasant Grove and Seminole, then attended Seminole Junior College.
She earned a Bachelor's Degree in Education from East Central State College in 1949.
While at East Central State, Frances was a member of the East Central Symphony, where she played the violin.
While working as a teacher at Seminole, she continued her education at the University of Oklahoma, receiving a Master's Degree in Education in 1953.
Frances taught at Roosevelt School and Pleasant Grove, before moving to Durant.
She retired from the Durant School System in 1977, after a 30-year career as a teacher.
She moved back to Seminole in the early 1980's.
She was married to Donald Turner Emmitt Jr. in 1934.
Frances was a member of the Oklahoma Retired Educators Association.
She was preceded in death by her parents; one infant son; and two brothers, Harold Harvey Earles and James Earles.
Survivors include her son and daughter-in-law, Fred Sr. and Pearl Emmitt, Seminole; one sister, Thelma Roberts, Seminole; and one brother and sister-in-law, A.A. "Pete" and Pat Earles, Durant.
Other survivors include her grandchildren and their spouses, Donald Arthur and Debbie Emmitt, Fresno, Calif., Freddie Jr. and Sharon Emmitt, Leah and Tommy Thompson, and Donald Turner III and Kristy Emmitt, all of Seminole; and six great-grandchildren, Timothy Emmitt, Brittany Jones, Bo Jones, Dusty Emmitt, Blake Emmitt and Ryan Emmitt.
Casket bearers are listed at Freddie Emmitt Jr., Donald T. Emmitt III, Tommy Thompson and Mike Roberts,
Honorary bearers include Donald Arthur Emmitt.
Pearl Endwright
Funeral services for Maud resident Pearl Endwright are scheduled for 2 p.m. Thursday at Swearingen Funeral Chapel.
Burial is to follow at Little Cemetery under the direction of Knight-Swearingen Funeral Home.
Endwright died Sunday, Jan. 6, 2002 at Seminole Medical Center at the age of 88.
She was born Aug. 16, 1913 in Tunnelton, Ind. to Archer and Goldie Mae (True) Green.
She married Earl M. Endwright on March 31, 1934 in Paoli, Ind.
He preceded her in death on Aug. 12, 1992.
Endwright was a homemaker.
She was preceded in death by her parents, four brothers, two sisters, two grandchildren and her husband.
She is survived by one son, Robert Endwright of Maud; eight grandchildren; several great-grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
L.W. Ensminger Jr.
DAVIS – Funeral services for L.W. "Pee Wee" Ensminger Jr. are scheduled for 2 p.m. Wednesday at First Baptist Church.
Rev. Randy Chapman and Rev. John Joughin are set to officiate.
Interment is to follow at Greenhill Cemetery under the direction of Krien Funeral Home.
Ensminger died Saturday, March 30, 2002 at Mercy Memorial Health Center in Ardmore at the age of 77.
He was born Aug. 7, 1924 in Duncan to Lawrence William and Willie Mae (Sircy) Ensminger.
He was a Production Supervisor II with Mobil Oil Company.
Ensminger married Mary "Lou" Tolley on May 20, 1951 in Sasakwa.
He moved from Stroud to Davis in 1962.
He served in the United States Army during World War II with the 1867th Engineer Avn. Bn. and earned the Good Conduct Medal and the Philippine Liberation Ribbon with Star and Rifle.
Ensminger was a member of the city council for 14 years, vice-mayor of Davis and Scout Master at Stroud and Davis.
He was a member of the Order of the Eagles and the Methodist Youth Fellowship.
He was a youth leader at Stroud and Davis, a longtime Sunday School teacher, and a former lay leader and chairperson of the Methodist Church Board.
Ensminger was preceded in death by his parents.
He is survived by his wife of the home; three sons, L.W. "Larry", Christopher and Layne Ensminger, all of Davis; two daughters, Linda Ensminger Reed of Ft. Worth, Texas and Mattie Ellen Tolley of Weatherford; two brothers, Billy John "Johnny" Ensminger of Duncan and George Donald Ensminger of Hugo; two sisters, Geneva Pearl Cariker of Duncan and Gwendolyn Ann Bedwell of Wewoka; four grandchildren and one geat-grandchild.
Pallbearers are Lisa Ensminger, L.W. "Lance" Ensminger, Austin Gil Reed, Brent Allyn Sawatzky, Dan Stidham and Marshall Brown.
