Funeral services for Cecil Ray Jackson were held at 1 p.m. today at Macedonia Baptist Church in Wewoka.
Rev. W.E. Cooper of First Baptist Church of Lima officiate.
Burial followed at Jackson Cemetery under the direction of Myers Mortuary.
Jackson died Thursday, March 28, 2002 at Southwest Regional Medical Center in Oklahoma City at the age of 61.
He was born Sept. 9, 1940 in Lima.
He worked at Lima Public Schools for three years, B&L Electric in Seminole for nine years and in the oil fields for nine years.
Jackson also worked as a mechanic at Patterson’s Motors in Seminole.
He was a member of the First Baptist Church of Lima.
He was preceded in death by his father, Caldwell Jackson Sr.
Jackson is survived by his wife, Yolanda Jackson of Oklahoma City; his mother, Pearliree Roberson of Lima; two daughters, Rone ‘Rena’ Louie of Langston and Yvette Jackson of Los Angeles; five sons, Eddie L. Louie of Oklahoma City, Fernando Romero Louie of Ada, Sherwood Ray Jackson Sr. of Wewoka, Tyrone Joe Jackson Sr. of Spencer, and Monzell Louie of Lima; two brothers, James Jackson of Lima and Caldwell Jackson Jr. of Oklahoma City; three sisters, Vanessa Ann Jackson of Oklahoma City, Juanita Thompson of Spencer, and Gwendolyn Roberson of Fairfield, Calif.; 27 grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.
Lucille Ball Jenkins
COVINGTON, LA – Funeral services for Seminole native Lucille Ball Jenkins are scheduled for 6 p.m. tonight at E.J. Fielding Funeral Home.
Burial is to follow at 1 p.m. Friday at Little Cemetery in Seminole County.
Jenkins died Monday, Dec. 31, 2001 at the age of 84.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Roy Lee Jenkins; one son, Jerry L. Jenkins; two brothers and three sisters.
She is survived by one son, Ronald L. Jenkins; one brother, W.B. Ball; one grandchild and two great-grandchildren.
Arthur Jernigan
Funeral services for former Seminole resident Arthur Oliver Jernigan are scheduled for 10 a.m. Wednesday at the Wooster Funeral Home Chapel, located at 1601 S. Chickasaw in Pauls Valley.
Full military graveside services and interment will follow at Little Cemetery under the direction of Wooster Funeral Home, Pauls Valley.
Jernigan died Sunday in Oklahoma City at the age of 80.
He was born to Arthur O. Jernigan, Sr., and Ethel Mae (Martin) Jernigan on Oct. 16, 1921 in Lepanto, Ark.
Jernigan served as an active duty member of the U.S. Army from 1937-1940.
He married Mary Lois Hodges on July, 24, 1941.
At the outbreak of World War II, he joined the United States Army Air Corps, where he served as a veteran of World War II, the Korean War, and the Vietnam War until his retirement in 1965.
Lt. Colonel Jernigan then began his civilian career in public education as a counselor and vocational administrator, retiring from his second career from the Greenville, Texas Public School system in 1983.
Jernigan also served as past president of the Lion’s Club of Greenville, Texas and was bearer of the title, Knight of the 32nd Degree in the Scottish Rite, The Masonic Lodge #76 in Seminole.
He received recognition of 50 years service to the Masonic Lodge of Seminole in 1997.
Jernigan and his wife moved to Pauls Valley in Feb. 1995 in order to be closer to their family.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and three sisters, Virginia Jernigan, Ravanelle Williams, and Eleanor Judkins.
Jernigan is survived by his wife, Mary Lois Hodges, of the home; two sons, James A. Jernigan, Houston, Texas, and John O. Jernigan, Norman; one daughter, Mary Jernigan Smith, Pauls Valley; one brother, John Martin Jernigan, Oklahoma City; one sister, Lavonia Brewer, Pauls Valley; and three grandchildren.
Ceolous Johnson Sr.
Memorial services are scheduled for 1 p.m. Friday for longtime Seminole resident Ceolous T. Johnson, Sr. at the Historic Strothers Chapel in Seminole.
Rev. Carl Whitfield will officiate.
Burial will follow at Maple Grove Cemetery, under the direction of Swearingen Funeral Home.
Johnson died Friday, Nov. 22, 2002 at Unity Health Center North in Shawnee at the age of 87.
He was born to Jordan Johnson and Mary Oteria (Ryan) Johnson on Sept. 4, 1915 in Magnolia, Ark.
Johnson moved to Seminole from Arkansas in 1936, and attended Booker T. Washington School.
He then met and married Corine Johnson and the couple were together for 47 years.
Johnson served in the U.S. Army during World War II.
He was a truck driver for 27 years for Midwest Pipe and Supply, and was of Holiness faith.
Johnson was preceded in death by his parents.
He is survived by his wife, Corine, of the home; three sons, Ceolous Johnson, Jr., Shawnee, Grover Johnson, Shawnee, and David Johnson, Seminole; four daughters, Joyce Johnson, Oklahoma City, Cassandra K. McNeely, Midwest City, Yolanda Simon, Shawnee, and Tijuana Johnson, Seminole; several grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Charles "Leonard" Johnson
Funeral services for Seminole resident Charles "Leonard" Johnson are scheduled for 2 p.m. Friday at Historic Strothers Chapel in Maple Grove Cemetery.
The casket will be open until service time and will not be re-opened.
Eugene Johnson is set to officiate.
Burial is to follow in Maple Grove Cemetery under the direction of Swearingen Funeral Home.
Johnson died Wednesday, Dec. 11, 2002 at Seminole Medical Center at the age of 85.
He was born Nov. 23, 1917 in Pearce to Samuel G. and Dona (Cowan) Johnson.
He married Mildred Virginia Hedges on June 30, 1937 in Seminole.
Johnson was a self-employed auto mechanic and was in car sales before retiring in 1995.
He was a veteran of the United States Air Force during World War II where he was a sergeant and aircraft mechanic.
He graduated from Earlsboro High School in 1935.
Johnson was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Ted Johnson in 1980 and Wayne Johnson in 1977; and one son, Jerry Johnson in 1995.
He is survived by his wife of the home; two sons, Larry Johnson of Seminole and Charles Johnson of Earlsboro; seven grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
Casket bearers are Kenny Casey, Terry Johnson, Landon Johnson, Kent Johnson, Charles Glen Johnson, and Eugene Johnson.
Honorary bearers are Ray McElroy, Jess Coppedge, Andy Andrison, and Ed Courtney.
Ida Mae Johnson
Funeral services for Wewoka resident Ida Mae Johnson are scheduled for 11 a.m. Friday at Scipio Baptist Church.
Rev. F.D. Cochran is set to officiate.
Burial is to follow at Westwood Cemetery under the direction of Myers Mortuary.
Johnson died Saturday, Oct. 5, 2002 in Wewoka at the age of 86.
She was born April 23, 1916 in Lima to Joe and Esther Davis Hunter.
Johnson lived in Seminole County before moving to California.
She then moved to Dallas, Texas before moving back to Oklahoma.
While living in Dallas, she worked as a cook for the Dallas public school system.
Johnson was a member of Scipio Baptist Church where she worked in the Sunday school and was a member of the Missionary Society.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
She is survived by one sister, Leonora Edwards Buckner of Wewoka.
Raymond Johnson
Funeral services for Raymond Johnson are scheduled for 2 p.m. Wednesday at Stout Funeral Home Chapel.
Rev. Homer Emarthle and Elmer Kelly Tiger are set to officiate.
Wake services are planned for 6 p.m. tonight at Stout Funeral Home Chapel.
Interment is to follow at the Harjo family cemetery under the direction of Stout Funeral Home.
Johnson died Saturday, Jan. 19, 2002 at the age of 79.
He was born April 6, 1922 in Limestone to Charles and Elise (McGirt) Johnson.
He was raised in the Seminole area and attended school at Limestone.
Johnson married Mary Green in August of 1948.
He enlisted in the United State Army on Nov. 24, 1942 and was discharged on March 8, 1946.
He was a member of Cold Springs Baptist Church where he served as Deacon and Sunday School Superintendent.
Johnson was also a member of the Newcomer Band where he served as Past Chairman and Council Band Representative.
He was preceded in death by his wife; parents; three sisters, Sarah Watson, Stella Factor and Samaria Johnson; and one brother, Edger Johnson.
He is survived by two daughters, Samaria C. Harjo of Seminole and Judy K. Little of Wewoka; one son, Ronald C. Johnson of Seminole; 10 grandchildren; six great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers are Greg Robinson, Brandon Johnson, Eastman Factor, Frank Sewell, Charles Sewell and Nolan Johnson.
Honorary pallbearers are Kendal Roberts, Russell Roberts, Ronny Thorpe, Edwin Thorpe, David Johnson, George Thorpe, David Little, and Tony Roberts.
