Services for David Hailey of Valliant will be at 2 p.m. Nov. 27, 2002 at the Miller & Miller Funeral Chapel in Hugo. Phil Payne will officiate the ceremony. Internment will follow at the Mt. Olivet Cemetery in Hugo.
David Hailey died Nov. 25, 2002 in Hugo. He was 77.
David Hailey was born June 3, 1925 in Dalhart, Texas.
He was preceded in death by a daughter, Joan Siegfried and two brothers, Gary Hailey and Elroy Hailey.
He is survived by one son, David Hailey, Jr. of Utah; one daughter, Gail Smith of Hugo; one sister, Hope Roguemore of Dalhart, Texas; eight grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.

Isaac Lee Shaffer
Graveside services for Isaac Lee Shaffer, the infant son of Adam & Michelle Shaffer, were at 2 p.m. Nov. 25, 2002 at the Sugar Creek Cemetery. The Rev. Jonathan Hooker officiated the ceremony.
Isaac Lee Shaffer died Nov. 22, 2002 in Ada.
Isaac is survived by his parents, Adam & Michelle Shaffer of Hugo; one sister, Rachel Shaffer of Hugo; his paternal grandparents, the Rev. Dewey & Norene Shaffer of Loudonville, Ohio; his maternal grandparents, Butch & Linda Needham of Soper; his paternal great-grandparents, Louise Shaffer of Loudonville, Ohio and Abe & Wilma Miller of Perrysville, Ohio; and his maternal great-grandmother, Joyce Seward of Hugo.

Debbie Nix
A memorial service for Debbie Nix will be at 2 p.m. Dec. 3, 2002 at the 7th Street Baptist Church in Ballinger, Texas. Brother Tony King will officiate the ceremony.
Debbie Nix, of Victoria, Texas, died nov. 23, 2002 after a lengthy illness. She was 40.
Debbie was a certified ACLS paramedic, respiratory therapist, crisis counselor and hospital administrator. She devoted her life to helping her fellow man.
Debbie is survived by her parents, Woodrow & Jorita Nix; her sisters, Laura Nix and Misty Nix Dempsey; her brother-in-law, Nathan Dempsey; and niece, Aurora Dempsey, all of Victoria, Texas; her grandparents, Woodrow and Lola Nix, and her grandmother, Leota Power of Ballinger, Texas.
Memorial donations may be made to Destiny: FutureQuest, Inc.
God has freed her spirit and she has gone to be in heaven.

Esther White
Services for Esther White were Nov. 19, 2002 at Redland United Methodist Church. Internment followed at Redland Cemetery.
Esther White, of Fort Towson, died Nov. 17, 2002 in Hugo. She was 79.
Esther White was born Jan. 2 1923 in Lick Creek to Samuel and Nancy Matthews.
Esther was a longtime resident of McCurtain County. She moved to Fort Towson six years ago. She was a member of the Quilting Club at Redland and a member of the Swink First Baptist Church.
She was preceded in death by her parents, two brothers and four sisters.
She is survived by her husband, T.A. White of Fort Towson; three sons and daughters-in-law, Melburn White of Swink, Don and Rita White of Haworth and Sam and Trina White of Swink; four daughters and sons-in-law, Carlita and Jerry Parnel of Little Elm, Texas, Carmaleta and Bill Holt of Fort Towson and Mary and Terry Watts of Grand Prairie, Texas; one brother, Sam Mathews of Haworth; seven sisters, Jewel Richardson of Redland, Pauline Bonner of Oklahoma City, Lois Batson of Broken Bow, Bessadean Potts of Haworth, Juadene Rhoden of Longview, Jane Breen of Aptose, Calif., Marthel Smith of Valencia, Calif.; 22 grandchildren and 36 great-grandchildren.

Betty Lue Payton
Services for Betty Lue Payton of Boswell will be at 10 a.m. Nov. 26, 2002 at the New Life Family Church of Boswell. The Rev. Rick Austin will officiate the ceremony. Internment will follow at the Elwood Cemetery in Bowie, Texas. The family will receive friends from 5:30-6:30 p.m. Monday at the Prater-Lampton-Mills & Coffey Funeral Chapel in Boswell.

Betty Lue Payton was born Jan. 29, 1925 in Van Alstyne, Texas to Charles and Hazle (Kincaid) Mathews. Betty married Robert Payton June 3, 1939 in Antlers.
Betty was preceded in death by her parents and one daughter, Floy L. Perry.
She is survived by her husband, Robert Payton of Boswell; two sons, Robert C. Payton of Spicewood, Texas and David W. Payton of Plano, Texas; one brother, Jessy Hooker of Rattan, six grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.

James M. Smith, of Swink, died Nov. 21, 2002 in Idabel. He was 46.
James Marion Smith was born Sept. 1, 1956 in Swink to Jarion Murice and Thelmer Lee (Turner) Smith.
James is survived by two sons; Tracy Murice Smith of Swink, and Cumings Culver (CC) Smith of Italy, a senior airman in the United States Air Force; one daughter; Ivy Varetta Smith of Swink; two brothers, Clarence Smith of Wright City and Wayne Smith of Tatum, texas; three sisters, Nora Hall of Rufe, Thelma Mitchell of Swink and Nila Jones of Moyers.
