Funeral services for Bob J. Sharber are scheduled for 10 a.m. Thursday at Pickard-Swearingen Funeral Chapel.
Richard Winters is set to officiate.
Burial is to follow at Dora Cemetery under the direction of Pickard-Swearingen Funeral Home.
Sharber died Monday, April 29, 2002 at Veterans Hospital in Oklahoma City at the age of 69.
He was born Sept. 28, 1932 in Vamoosa to A.C. and Hazel (Hailey) Sharber.
He married Joan (Walker) Sharber on Aug. 12, 1950 in Noble.
Sharber was a truck driver for 35 years before retiring in 1982.
He served in the United States Army National Guard during the Korean Conflict.
He served in Japan and Korea with the 45th Infantry and the 120th Medical Battalion.
Sharber received the Korean Service Medal with one bronze star, army occupation medal and the United Nations Service Medal.
He was a member of the Church of Christ in Konawa.
He was also a member of the local 886 International Teamsters Union of Oklahoma City.
Sharber was preceded in death by his father and his wife, Joan Sharber in August of 1998.
He is survived by his mother, Hazel Sharber of Maud; two sons, Bryan Kirk Sharber of Norman and Justin Kade Sharber of Konawa; and six grandchildren.
Alma Ola Shaw
Graveside funeral services for former Konawa resident Alma Ola Shaw are scheduled for 10 a.m. Wednesday at Konawa Cemetery.
Rev. Kelly Payne is set to officiate.
Services are under the direction of Pickard-Swearingen Funeral Home.
Shaw died Saturday, July 6, 2002 at Tulsa Specialty Hospital at the age of 80.
She was a longtime Konawa resident before moving to Fort Gibson in September of 2001.
She was raised in the Chickasha area.
Shaw was born Sept. 29, 1921 in Woodford to William A. and Alice (Wright) Addington.
She married Sanford A. Shaw on July 20, 1939 in Konawa.
She was a retired beautician.
Shaw was a member of Timothy Baptist Church in Muskogee.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband on Jan. 19, 1993; an infant daughter, Sandra Mae Shaw; a foster son, Chiefton Camp; two brothers, James Marion Addington and William Terry Addington; and two sisters, Katie Connor and Dorothy Addington.
She is survived by three daughters, Debra Downey of Fort Gibson, and Carla Dixon and Darla Kelley, both of Konawa; two foster daughters, Christine Camp and Debbie Wheeler; one foster son, Amen Camp; 20 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren.
Delores Shaw
Funeral services for Wewoka native Delores Joan Shaw were held Monday in the Stout Funeral Home Chapel.
Rev. Henry Bell officiated.
Interment followed at Oakwood Cemetery under the direction of Stout Funeral Home.
Shaw died Thursday, March 21, 2002 in St. Agnes Medical Center in Fresno, Calif. at the age of 66.
She was born Dec. 1, 1935 to Guy and Juanita Thomas.
She was christened in the Methodist Church in Wewoka and then moved to California at the age of 4 ½ .
Shaw married Robert Marcella Shaw in California.
She was employed by Hughes Aircraft Company, where she worked as a computer librarian for 10 years.
She was a member of the Calvary Chapel Church.
Shaw is survived by her husband of Clovis, Calif.; four children, Kyran Danaher of Sacramento, Calif., and Patrick Danaher, Michael Danaher, and Margaret Pierce, all of Clovis, Calif.; six grandchildren; her mother of Mareno Valley, Calif.; and one sister, Linda Mahoney of Buena Park, Calif.
She was preceded in death by her father in 1989.
Stanley V. Sims
Stanley V. Sims died Friday, May 17, 2002 at Unity Health North in Shawnee at the age of 70.
He was buried in Little Cemetery Friday under the direction of Swearingen Funeral Home.
Sims was born Sept. 19, 1931 in Seminole to Irral O. and Bertie Mae (Word) Sims.
He married Betty R. (Masters) on Dec. 13, 1949 at Highway Baptist Church.
He retired from Tinker Air Force Base after 30 years.
Sims was a veteran of the United States Navy.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
He is survived by his wife of the home; one son, Brian Sims of Seminole; two daughters, Karen Chandler of Seminole and Jeannie Sartors of Tulsa; three grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
James Slay
KERMIT, TEXAS – Graveside funeral services for James T. Slay, the brother of a Seminole resident, were scheduled for 10 a.m. today at Kermit Cemetery.
Rev. Emmett Upchurch was set to officiate.
Services are under the direction of Cooper Funeral Home.
Slay died Monday, Feb. 18, 2002 at his residence in Kermit, Texas.
He was born Nov. 17 in 1920 in Dewar.
He was a retired rental car transporter.
Slay was a veteran of the United States Air Force and served in World War II and the Korean Conflict.
He married Corrine Kope on April 28, 1942 in Seminole.
He was Church of Christ and a resident of Kermit for eight years.
Slay was a member of the Shriners.
He is survived by his wife of Kermit, Texas; six sons, James Slay of Cushing, Mark Slay of Kermit, Texas, Scott Slay of Pampa, Texas, Gary Slay of Ft. Smith, Ark., Jerry Slay of Georgia, and Pat Slay of Cedarville, Ark.; three brothers, Bobby Slay of Amarillo, Texas, Leroy Slay of Muskogee, and Jack Slay of Perry; two sisters, Helen Downing of Seminole and Glenda Sue Ellings of Plano, Texas; 12 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.
Lee Slay
Funeral services for Lee R. Slay, brother of Seminole resident Helen Downing, are scheduled for noon on Thursday at the Fort Gibson National Cemetery.
Chaplain Bill Crow will officiate.
Military honors will be presented at graveside by members of VFW Post 474.
Services are under the direction of Foster-Petering Funeral Home of Muskogee.
Slay died Tuesday, Nov. 5, 2002 at Broadway Manor Health Care Center in Muskogee at the age of 79.
He was born to Albert and Letha (Floyd) Slay on Feb. 16, 1923 in Raiford.
Slay lived in Colorado before moving with his family to Seminole where he was raised.
During World War II, Slay was taken prisoner of war while fighting in the Philippines.
He was taken to Japan where he was in the Bataan Death March for four years.
Upon his release from the military, Slay came back to the states and signed with the U.S. Air Force and was stationed at Tinker Air Force Base.
In 1955, Slay married Shirley Covington, and the couple worked in the electronic repair business until retirement.
He was preceded in death by his parents; one son, Ricky Lee Slay; and one grandson, Shawn Reynolds.
Slay is survived by his wife, Shirley, of the home; three sons, Michael Compton, Lee Slay Jr., Muskogee and Jeffrey Slay, also of Muskogee; three daughters, Jeannette Bartholet and Barbara Wolfe, both of Muskogee and Cheryl Slay, McAlester; two sisters, Helen Downing, Seminole and Glenda Von Ellen of Texas; two brothers, Jack Slay, Perry and Bobby Slay, Amarillo, Texas; 16 grandchildren and many great-grandchildren.
Dema Sloan
Graveside funeral services for Dema Louise Sloan are scheduled for 10 a.m. Tuesday at Memorial Park Cemetery in Ada.

Services are under the direction of Knight-Swearingen Funeral Home.
Sloan died Friday, March 8, 2002 at Sunset Estates Care Center in Maud at the age of 83.
She was born Jan. 7, 1919 in Tecumseh to Randolph and Lillie May (Eisenhower) Pounds.
She married Stephen A. Sloan.
He preceded her in death.
Sloan was a retired admitting supervisor and unit secretary at Valley View Regional Hospital in Ada from 1966 to 1984.
She was a member of the Episcopal faith.
She has served in several areas at Valley View Hospial Auxiliary and was an officer of the Auxiliary Bowling League.
Sloan was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; and one brother, Coree Pounds.
She is survived by one sister, Jerri Smith of Maud.
