Funeral services for Wewoka native Mollie A. Sweeden were held Saturday, Oct. 19, 2002 at the Spring Baptist Church in Sasakwa.
Interment followed at Holdenville Cemetery, under the direction of Hudson-Phillips Funeral Home of Holdenville.
Sweeden died Wednesday, Oct. 15, 2002 in Holdenville at the age of 75.
She was born to George Powell and Josephine Gibbs Powell on Dec. 28, 1926 in Wewoka.
Sweeden worked at the Lillian Russell sewing factory for a number of years, then, after the plant closed, she worked for the Heritage Nursing Home as a Nurses Aid.
She then retired from there and resided in Holdenville until her death.
Sweeden was preceded in death by her parents; one daughter, Vicki Lynn Larney; one brother, Bobby Leon Powell; and two sisters, Lucy Powell and Amy Powell Larney.
She is survived by one daughter, Carroll Lynn (Larney) Gooden, Gallup, N.M.; one brother, Benjamin Powell, Oklahoma City; one sister, Ellen Powell Moore, Eufaula; one grandson and two great-grandchildren.
Rose Swing
Funeral services for Rose Ann Swing were held at 2 p.m. Monday at Pickard-Swearingen Funeral Chapel.
Rev. Mitch Williams was set to officiate.
Burial followed at Vamoose Cemetery under the direction of Pickard-Swearingen Funeral Home.
Swing died Saturday, June 8, 2002 at St. Michael’s Hospital in Oklahoma City at the age of 67.
She was a former Konawa resident and had been a resident of Oklahoma City for several years.
She was born June 25, 1934 in Konawa to Memory Bryce and Ora Alice (Blackwood) May.
Swing married Leon Wilbur Swing in 1973 in Oklahoma City. He preceded her in death in 1989.
She was a meat wrapper for Homeland for over 17 years and was a homemaker.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; and one sister, Mary Cole.
Swing is survived by two sons, Don Musgrove of Harrah and Larry Musgrove of Oklahoma City; one brother Darrell May of Oklahoma City; one sister, Betty Jo Dye of Moore; and three grandchildren.
Joan G. Tate
Services for Seminole resident Joan G. Tate were scheduled to be held at the Swearingen Funeral Chapel at 10 a.m. Tuesday.
Rev. Lynn Borrego was set to officiate.
Burial was scheduled to follow at 2 p.m. at the Davenport Cemetery, Davenport, under the direction of Swearingen Funeral Home.
Tate died Saturday, Feb. 16 at Edmond Regional Hospital, Edmond, at the age of 72.
She was born Sept. 20, 1929 in Davenport, to Henry and Dorothy (Clark) Hodges.
On May 22, 1948, she married Bill Tate, in Davenport.
Tate attended Davenport schools, and was a social worker with the Oklahoma Department of Human Services for more than 20 years.
She was a member of St. Mark Episcopal Church in Seminole, and a member of the Board of Mental Health of Southern Oklahoma, of which she was president in previous years.
Tate was preceded in death by both parents and one brother.
She is survived by her husband, of the home; one daughter, Dinda Rachel, Ada; one son, Mark Tate, Meeker; four grandchildren and their spouses and two great-grandchildren.
Samuel Teague
Graveside services with military honors for Wewoka native Samuel DeWayne Teague will be held at 2 p.m. Friday at Sunset Memorial Gardens in Odessa, Texas.
Services will be under the direction of Hubbard-Kelly Funeral Home, Odessa, Texas.
Teague died Sunday, Feb. 3, 2001 in Taylor, Mich., at the age of 63.
He was born June 28, 1938 in Wewoka.
Teague worked in the pipeline industry much of his life.
While living in Odessa, Teague was employed for a short time with Sewell Ford.
He and his wife Myrna (Sanderson) Teague owned and operated the Winners Inn Motel in Ruidoso, N.M., from 1999 to 2001.
Teague was a U.S. Army Vietnam veteran and a member of the VFW and the American Legion.
He is survived by his wife, Myrna, of the home; two sons, Phillip Inman, Lewisville, Texas, and Charles Smith, Las Vegas, Nev.; five sisters, Jeanetta Calhoun, Odessa, Texas, Mischelle Schumucker, Gainesville, Mo., Nancy Mathis Bryant, Wewoka, Dana Lee Proffit, Joplin, Mo., and Shawnda Teague, Baton Rouge, La.; one sister, Shirley Tingwald, Wewoka; and five grandchildren.
Benny Joe Tebe
Funeral services for Benny Joe Tebe are scheduled for 10:30 a.m. Monday at Swearingen Funeral Home Chapel.
A wake service is set for 6:30 p.m. Sunday at Swearingen Funeral Home Chapel.
Burial is to follow at Little Cemetery under the direction of the Swearingen Funeral Home.
Tebe died Thursday, May 16, 2002 at his home in Sapulpa at the age of 65.
He was born May 4, 1937 in Seminole County to Authur and Munnah (Fife) Tebe.
He was Ruby Jo (Shields) in 1995 in Shawnee.
Tebe retired in 1995 from the Shipping Department at JC Penny.
He was a veteran of the United States Army.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his first wife, Dena Tebe this year; and two brothers, Henry Tebe and Bobby Tebe.
Tebe is survived by his wife of the home; his two step-grandchildren he raised, Amy and Sara McMenis, both of Tulsa; four brothers, Lloyd Tebe of Lawrence, Kans., Vernon Tebe of Konawa, and Jimmy Tebe and Paul Tebe, both of Sasakwa; and one sister, Lucy of the home.
Lottie Teehee
Funeral services for Seminole resident Lottie Teehee were scheduled for 10 a.m. this morning at Swearingen Funeral Chapel.

Burial was to follow at Little Cemetery under the direction of Swearingen Funeral Home.
Teehee died Saturday, Dec. 28, 2002 at Carl Albert Indian Health Center in Ada at the age of 70.
She was born Feb. 3, 1932 in Dustin to Joe and Winey (Letka) Marshall.
She was a homemaker and a member of Sand Creek Baptist Church.
Teehee was preceded in death by her parents and her husband, Ross Teehee.
She is survived by two sons, Wally and Terry Teehee of Seminole; four daughters, Shirley Perez and Betty Friare, both of Seminole, Joann Tebe of Konawa, and Josephine Teehee of Lawrence; 15 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.
Casket bearers are Vernon Ross Tebe, Wally Teehee, Lorenzo Perez, Ross Perez, Justin Perez, Thomas Friare, and Lesandro Friare.
Bonnie B. Anderson Terry

Terry died Wednesday, June 5, 2002 at her home in Earlsboro at the age of 72.
She had lived in the Earlsboro area for the past 40 years, moving there from Altus.
She was born June 3, 1930 in Salina to Arlie L. and Irean Ione (Comstock) Armbrister.
Terry married Noeal Anderson Jr. on Dec. 10, 1949 in Wewoka. He preceded her in death on Sept. 15, 1993.
She married Rev. Leonard Terry on March 21, 1984 in Altus. He preceded her in death on Dec. 8, 2000.
She was a member of Harvey Road Baptist Church.
Terry was preceded in death by her parents; both husbands; one son, Ricky W. Anderson; and three sisters, Cora Scott, Ada Jarman, and Fern Firkins.
She is survived by two daughters, Judy Chaffin and Kathy Stacy, both of Earlsboro; five brothers, Coule Armbrister of Oklahoma City, George Armbrister and Louis Armbrister, both of Claremore, Claude Armbrister of Oolagah, and Wayne Armbrister of Fouke, Ark.; one sister, Faye Ellick of Clarmore; 13 grandchildren and five great-granchildren.
Pallbearers are Clint Chaffin, Lance Wilson, Joe Waller, Ray Selman, Aaron Chaffin, Lynn Combs, and Jack Combs.
Honorary bearer is Danny Hunter.
Abel Thomas
Funeral services for former Seminole resident Abel James Thomas are scheduled for 2 p.m. Friday at Mekusukey Indian Baptist Church.

Burial is to follow at Hayecha (Narcomey) Cemetery under the direction of Swearingen Funeral Home.
Wake services are scheduled for 7 p.m. Thursday night at Mekusukey Baptist Church.
Thomas died Sunday, Feb. 17, 2002 at Oklahoma City at the age of 25.
He was born June 29, 1976 in Madras, Ore. To James and Avis Elain (Goodlance) Thomas.
He married Starlite (Christie) Thomas on June 7, 1997 in Oklahoma City.
