SHAWNEE – A memorial service for Dennis "Dino" Ainesworth, who worked in Seminole County, was scheduled for this morning at Chapel of Walker Funeral Service.
Rev. Ray Belford was set to officiate.
Services were under the direction of Walker Funeral Service of Shawnee.
Ainesworth died Friday, Jan. 10, 2003 at an Oklahoma City Hospital at the age of 43.
He was born July 29, 1959 in Claremore to Bob and Mary Ainesworth.
He attended schools at Nowata, Sequoyah, Chilloch, and Wann.
Ainesworth was the plant foreman for Al-Ko Kober Industries.
He was a national Gold Glove boxer.
He was preceded in death by his parents; one brother, Marvin Ainesworth; and one sister, Aleta Katherine Ainesworth.
Ainesworth is survived by his wife, Leslie Lynn Ainesworth of the home; three sons, Dion Ainesworth of Dewey, Mike Ainesworth of Shawnee, and Kane Ainesworth of the home; three daughters, Roxanne Dobbs and Melissa Smith, both of Dewey, and Lacretia Ainesworth of Holdenville; two stepchildren, Scotti Lynn and Rory, both of the home; five grandchildren; and seven brothers and sisters, Bobbi Winters, Eddie Ainesworth, David Ainesworth, Richard Ainesworth, Dondi Henry, Wigi Black, Tandi Warren, Joe Ainesworth, Tony Ainesworth, Robin Ainesworth, and Mike Ainesworth.
Irene Alexander
Graveside services for Seminole County resident, Irene Alexander of Oakridge Nursing Home are scheduled for Monday at 10 a.m. at Westwood Cemetery, Wewoka.
She died July 24, 2003 at the age of 51.
She was born July 1, 1952.
She was a joy to the many friends and family she came in contact with during her life.
She will be missed by her family and friends at Oakridge Nursing Home.
Services will be under the direction of Stout-Phillips Funeral Home, Wewoka.
Ruth Juanita Alexander
Funeral services for longtime Seminole County resident, Ruth Juanita Alexander are scheduled for Friday, Sept 5 at 10 a.m. at Macedonia Baptist Church in Wewoka.
Rev. B. G. Renfro, Parker’s Chapel Baptist Church will officiate.
Interment will follow in Westwood Cemetery under the direction of Myers Mortuary, Wewoka.
She died Sept. 1, 2003, at the age of 74 in Oklahoma City.
She was born Oct. 30, 1928 in Wetumka to Henry Lee and Gertrude Samilton.
She was the fifth of eight children.
She lived in Wetumka and moved to Wewoka about 50 years ago.
She attended school at Wisner Chapel and graduated from Douglass High School in Wewoka.
She was married to L.Z. Alexander on March 25, 1948, and to this union, four children were born.
She accepted Christ at an early age and became a member of the New Hope Baptist Church under the leadership of Rev. T.E. Higgs, where she was faithful until her death.
She became a nurse and worked for Holdenville General and Wewoka General Hospitals for 30 years.
She was a child of God and was very active socially.
She was president of the National Girls and Boys Club of America and an active member of the New Harmony Singing Convention.
She was also the church clerk at New Hope Baptist Church for 40 years and an inspiring Sunday school teacher of the young adult class for a number of years.
She belonged to the Women’s Club Auxiliary, was a member of Vernon Brooks Chapter of Eastern Star and was president of the Mission at New Hope Baptist Church.
She was preceded in death by her husband, L.Z. Alexander, on Nov. 15, 2000; her parents, two brothers and one sister.
She is survived by three sons, Glen Alexander and Stanley Alexander of Wewoka, and Rodney Alexander of Oklahoma City; one daughter, Lynda Alexander of Oklahoma City; brothers, Edward Samilton and Thomas Samilton both of Tulsa; sisters, Mary Samilton of Mt. Vernon, N.Y. and Gertie Alexander of Wewoka; six grandchildren and six great grandchildren.
Mary Ames
Funeral services for life long Seminole resident Mary Lois Ames will be held at 10 a.m. on Saturday at the Free Will Baptist Church of Seminole.
Ames died April 9, 2003 at the age of 77 in Midwest City Nursing Center.
She was born April 16, 1925 in Bokchito, Oklahoma.
She married Virl Ames on June 29, 1940 in Bokchito.
She was a member of Free Will Baptist Church, a homemaker, and enjoyed baking, quilting and loved being a grandma.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Virl Ames; son, Lee Ames; and two sisters.
Services will be officiated by Rev. David McDougal.
Interment will follow to Maple Grove Cemetery under the direction of Swearingen Funeral Home of Seminole.
Florence Anderson
A memorial service for Seminole resident Florence M. Anderson is scheduled for 2 p.m. Wednesday at the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Seminole.
Deacon Charles Collier will officiate.
Services will be under the direction of Swearingen Funeral Home.
Anderson died Friday, Aug. 15, 2003 at the Seminole Estates Nursing Home at the age of 98.
She was born to John Campbell and Belle (Duncan) Robinson on Oct. 5, 1904 in St. Paul, Ark.
She married her first husband, Andy Andrieff, who preceded her in death in 1926.
She then married William B. Anderson, a retired Naval Lt. Commander, in 1948. He preceded her in death in 1964.
Anderson moved to Seminole 11 years ago from Ramona, Calif.
She was a reporter for the San Francisco Chronicle.
Later she moved to Hemet, Calif., where she was a reporter for their local newspaper.
She was a veteran of World War II, serving in the Women’s Air corp.
Anderson was of Catholic faith, and was a 1926 graduate of Oregon University.
She was preceded in death by her parents; and both of her husbands.
Anderson is survived by several half-brothers and half-sisters including, Terry Robinson, Alma, Ark., Julia Pitts, Van Buren, Ark., Patsy Shipp, Ft. Smith, Ark., Betsy Thomas, Springdale, Ark., Tom Robinson, Alma, Ark., James Robinson, Muldrow, Jake Robinson, Siloam Springs, Ark., Joe Robinson, Van Buren, Ark., and Sue Cain, Alma Ark.
Richard Andrews
Funeral services for Seminole resident, Richard Curtis Andrews are scheduled for 1 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 20 at the Macedonia Baptist Church in Wewoka with Rev. Clive Cochran of Rock Hill Baptist Church officiating.
Interment will follow at Westwood Cemetery under the direction of Myers Mortuary of Wewoka.
Andrews died Monday, Dec. 15, 2003, at the age of 45 in Wewoka due to an automobile accident.
He was born June 5, 1958 in Oklahoma City to the late Leon Andrews Sr. and Mildred Agnew.
At the age of two, he was adopted by his Uncle C.L. and Aunt Polly Gentry.
He has lived in the Seminole County since the age of two.
He was reared in Nobletown and graduated from Wewoka Public Schools in 1977.
He met and married Celesta Jackson on Jan. 1, 1978, and to this union, two children were born.
He later married Mary Conley on March 6, 1987 and to this union, two children were born.
Andrews accepted Christ at an early age.
He was a member of Rock Hill Baptist Church and on April 27, 1997, he was ordained and served as a Deacon under the late Tony Ray Olden Sr.
He began singing at the age of seven and sang as a soloist on many programs as well as with the Joyland Gospel Singers for 30 years, until his death.
Besides singing, Andrews also enjoyed working on his cars, cooking and playing with his grandchildren.
He worked in the healthcare field for 15 years.
He was currently employed at ONHL.
He also worked at Pioneer Nursing Home in Seminole and Konawa’s New Horizon Nursing Home.
Andrews never met a stranger and had a heart of gold.
He is survived by his wife, Mary Andrews of Seminole; three sons, Johnny, Curtis and Kevin Andrews, also of Seminole; daughters, Ta-Tanisha Andrews and LaSheika Andrews of Broken Arrow, Shawn Andrews and Savonne Andrews of Oklahoma City and LaKisha Conley of Seminole; brothers, Arthur Woody Jr., Ellington Woody, Elmer Andrews, Leon Andrews Jr. Billy Andrews, Gary Andrews and Manuel Andrews of Oklahoma City; two sisters, Brenda Hays and Gloria Robinson of Oklahoma City; and seven grandchildren.
Active pallbearers will be Ray Elbert, Curtis Elbert, Benny Cochran, Robert Barnett, Wien Tottress and Nicholas Jones.
Honorary pallbearers will be the deacons.
