Funeral services for longtime Seminole resident, Helen Mae Bowles are scheduled for 10:30 a.m. Friday in the Swearingen Funeral Home Chapel in Seminole.
She died July 30, 2003, at the age 78 at Parkland Manor Nursing Home in Prague.
She was born June 21, 1925, in Seminole to Albert J. Belveal and Emma (Blackbourn) Belveal.
She married Raymond Bowles in 1953 in Sulphur.
She worked at Southwestern Bell Telephone Company as an operator and the owner of the Pampered Poodle.
She was a member of the Trinity Baptist Church.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Albert J. and Emma Belveal; two brothers, Neal Frazier of Seminole and Kenneth Frazier of Cushing.
She is survived by her husband, Raymond Bowles of Sulphur; daughters, Debra Bowles, Beth Ann Bowles and Nancy Rutherford, all of Seminole, Mary Johnson of Shawnee; one brother, Charles Belveal of Exeter, Mo.; four sisters, Virginia Cherry of Edmond, Etta Nelson of Seminole, Charlene Nelson of Los Lunas, N.M. and Barbara Deal of Antlers; and four grandchildren.
Casket bearers are Travis Johnson, Joe Abbiss, Eddie Nelson, John Scallorn, Jimmy Nelson and Jeffrey Nelson.
Rev. Steve Cline will officiate the service.
Interment will follow at Maple Grove Cemetery under the direction of Swearingen Funeral Home of Seminole.
Wilma Boyington
Funeral services for former Seminole resident Wilma Boyington are scheduled for 1 p.m. Saturday at Swearingen Funeral Home Chapel.
Rev. R.T. McDonald is set to officiate.
Burial is to follow at Little Cemetery under the direction of Swearingen Funeral Home.
Boyington died Tuesday, Dec. 31, 2002 at Southwest Medical Center at the age of 68.
She was born Dec. 26, 1934 in Seminole to Elmer and Lela (Gentry) Billings.
She married Buddy Boyington on June 7, 1968 in Stinnett, Texas.
Boyington was a retired daycare and store manager.
She attended Bowlegs Schools.
She was preceded in death by her parents; one brother, Daniel Billings in 1999; two nephews and one niece.
Boyington is survived by her husband of the home; three sons and daughters-in-law, Michael and Connie Hinman of Lawtey, Fla., David Ross Hinman of Melbourne, Fla., and Steven K. and Laree Hinman of Oklahoma City; two brothers and sisters-in-law, Ralph and Phyllis Billings of Ponca City and Raymond and De Billings of Seminole; one sister, Geraldine Johnston of Willis, Texas; eight grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
Margaret Bradley
Memorial services for former Seminole resident, Margaret Louise Bradley are scheduled for 1 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 30 at the Little Cemetery, north of Seminole, with Russell Vicars officiating.
Services are under the direction of Swearingen Funeral Home of Seminole.
Bradley died Friday, Dec. 19, 2003, at the age of 79 at the Hearthstone Assisted Living Center in Oklahoma City.
She was born March 8, 1924, in Carmen to Clifford Almon Cox and Thelma Marie (Bell) Cox.
She was married to Benny Joe Bradley, who preceded her in death in 1986.
She was a homemaker and was of the Catholic faith.
She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband.
She is survived by her brother, James W. Cox of Oklahoma City; one sister, Betty Marie Hawkins of Pryor and several nieces, nephews and other family and friends..
Stacy A. Braman
Graveside services for former Seminole County resident, Stacy A. Braman are scheduled for 11 a.m. Monday, July 21 at Fairview Cemetery, Shawnee, with full military honors.
He died July 5, 2003, at the age of 53 in Peter Borough, England and has just been returned to the United States.
He was born April 11, 1950 in Klamath Falls, Ore. to Frank Stacy Braman and Rita Theresa (La Marche).
He served in the USA Navy as petty officer first class and was working for the Navy AAFES in England when he died.
He was a graduate of Seminole State College and also the former pastor for the Main Street Church of God from 1980-2000.
He is survived by one daughter, Jennifer Kasper of Tulsa, two sons, John Braman of Ft. Sill and Jeremy Braman of South Daytona, Fla.; two sisters, Kathy Pallin of Eugene Ore. and Margaret Chosther of Keizer, Ore.; and four grandchildren.
Bro. H.K. Griffin will be officiating the service.
Services will be under the direction of Swearingen Funeral Home, Seminole.
Vivian Brannon
Vivian Evelyn Brannon passed away on Friday, March 21, 2003, at El wood Manor Nursing Home in Wewoka, after a long and courageous fight with Alzheimers.
Vivian was born February 1, 1928 in Sasakwa to George and Minia Huff.
Vivian married Art Brannon on October 4, 1946, and followed him in his work to a variety of locations, from Rangely, Colorado to Odessa, Texas before settling in Holdenville in 1973.
Vivian worked as a legal secretary for George Oliphant from early 1970s until her retirement.
Vivian attended the East Main Church of Christ until her Alzheimers forced her to move to Elmwood Manor Nursing Home.
Vivian was a dedicated Christian wife and a loving, supportive mother, sister, and grandmother.
Her loving smile, sense of humor, and obvious love for and pride in her family will be missed by all.
Vivian is survived by one son, Mark of Hodlenville; one daughter, Cindy Ingram of Broken Arrow; three sisters, Kate Wilson of Holdenville, Georgetta Cullinan of Wewoka and Stella Lawson of Borger, Texas; nine grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.
Vivian was preceded in death by her parents, George and Minia Huff; her husband Art Brannon; one son, Phillip Brannon and one daughter, Pam Epperson; three sisters, Lorene Huff, Opal Brannon and Pauline Reams; two brohers, Alvie Huff and Archie Huff.
Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. on Monday at the East Main Church of Christ with Alan Eck officiating.
Pallbearers were Doyle Wilson, Micah Mitchon, Phil Webb, David Epperson, Scot Treadwell, and Dwight Reams.
Services are under the direction of Fisher Funeral Home of Holdenville.
Albert Branscum
Graveside services for longtime Seminole County resident, Albert Eugene Branscum currently of Holdenville, are scheduled for 2 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 16 at the Vamoosa Cemetery with Rev. Robert Bray officiating.
Interment will also be at Vamoosa Cemetery under the direction of Pickard-Swearingen Funeral Home of Konawa.
Branscum died Saturday, Dec. 13, 2003, at the age of 72 at Holdenville General Hospital, Holdenville.
He was born July 18, 1930, in Konawa to W.A. "Bill" Branscum and Beatrice (Finch) Branscum.
He owned and operated his own salvage yard in Konawa for many yars and was also a mechanic and oilfield truck driver in earlier years.
Branscum was an Sp3 (T) in the U.S. Army and served as a mechanic in the 5th armored division during the Korean conflict.
He was a member of the Landmark Missionary Baptist Church and of the American Legion Post 70, both in Konawa.
He was preceded in death by his parents; three brothers; one granddaughter; and one great grandson.
He is survived by three sons, Randy Branscum of Holdenville, James Branscum of Burneyville and Andrew Branscum of Amarillo, Texas; one daughter, Kathy Miller of Holdenville; three brothers, Herman Branscum of Grass Valley, Calif., Bill Branscum of Pampa, Texas and Bob Branscum of Velma; two sisters, Athene Ironmonger of Pampa, Texas and Euda Weldon of Stevenville, Texas; six grandchildren and four great grandchildren.
Grandsons will serve as casket bearers.
Robert C. Bray, Jr.
Robert C. Bray, Jr. was born on March 6, 1915 in Checotah to the late Robert C. Bray and Tennessee Hill Bray, and passed away April 12, 2003 at the age of 88 at Seminole Medical Center.
His wife of 61 years, Debra Bray and their four children; Robert C. Bray III of Eufaula, Denton Bray of Wetumka, Randy Bray of Wetumka, and Lana Bray of Holdenville; eight grandchildren, twelve great-grandchildren, and four step grandchildren survives him. and one sister, Lucille Poole of Wewoka.
Olaf Bray, Walter Bray, Mary Whittaker, Anna Westbrook and Paul C. Bray preceded him in death.
Billy John Brazell
Funeral services for lifelong Seminole County resident, Billy John Brazell of Sasakwa are scheduled for 2 p.m. Wednesday, July 16 at the Pickard-Swearingen Funeral Chapel, Konawa.
He died July 13, 2003, at the age of 30, at his residence in Sasakwa.
He was born Nov. 28, 1972 in Ada to Clifton Lee Brazell and Debra Jean (Robertson).
He graduated from Sasakwa High School and worked in the oilfield.
Survivors include his father, Clif Brazell of Konawa; mother and stepfather, Debbie and Kenneth Watters of Sasakwa; one daughter, Lesly Lee Brazell of Sasakwa; grandparents, Pat Robertson and Marie Brazell, both of Konawa and Inetha Yeargan; great-grandmother, Juanita Knowles; two brothers, Robie Dale Watters of Sasakwa and Richard Lee Brazell of Arkansas; and two sisters, Francis Callaham and Elizabeth Brazell, both of Arkansas.
Casket Bearers will be Bruce Ramsey, Franklin Coody, Monte Brazell, Ryan Dale Brazell, Ralph Brazell and Larry Watson.
Officiating the services will be Rev. Wesley Martin.
Interment will follow at Dora Cemetery, north of Konawa, under the direction of Pickard-Swearingen Funeral Home of Konawa.
