Funeral services for lifelong Seminole resident, Jack Eugene Conger, are scheduled for 1 p.m. on Saturday at the Swearingen Funeral Home.
He died April 30, 2003, at the age of 72, in the OU Medical Center, Presbyterian Tower.
He was born on November 18, 1930 in Wewoka to Jesse James Conger and Dora (Kersey) Conger.
He was married to Lu Ella (Parsons) Conger on May 20, 1949 in Wewoka.
He was the owner of Trailer Parks and Service Tire Company and retired in 1998.
He served in the U.S. Navy from November 24, 1947 until February 15, 1950 and received the Navy Occupation Medal.
His parents; two sons, Richard Conger and Shane Conger; and one son-in-law, Randy Perry, preceded him in death.
He is survived by his wife, Lu Ella Conger of the home, two sons, James Conger of Oklahoma City and David Conger of Seminole; one daughter, Pam Gann of Oklahoma City; three grandchildren; one grand child; two brothers, Floyd Conger of Wewoka and Thurman Conger of Seminole and one sister, Velena Sawyer of Wewoka.
Casket bearers will be Jim Bullard, Melvin Hardin, Larry Bevan, Gene Terney, Larry Sawyer, Jesse Sawyer, Judge Sawyer, Tom Waller and Arthur Ross.
Interment will follow to the Oakwood Cemetery under the direction of the Swearingen Funeral Home.
Jessie Cooper
Funeral services for Seminole native Jessie Mae (Blackburn) are scheduled for 2 p.m. Thursday at the Kentucky Avenue Baptist Church in Oklahoma City.
Interment will follow at the Resthaven Memorial Gardens in Shawnee, under the direction of Vondel L. Smith and Son Mortuary of Oklahoma City.
Cooper died Monday, March 31, 2003.
She was born to Thomas Jefferson Blackburn and Gertrude Florence (Fry) Blackburn on June 23, 1914 in Seminole.
Cooper married Roscoe Cooper in Shawnee on Dec. 23, 1933.
The couple lived in Dale and New Mexico prior to moving to Oklahoma City during World War II.
She was a member of the Kentucky Ave. Baptist Church, and was active in the church programs.
Cooper was preceded in death by her husband; her parents; one brother, Leonard Blackburn; one sister, Mayme Marrs; and one nephew, Orean Marrs.
She is survived by one daughter, Shirley Workman; and one granddaughter.
Joe Adam Cooper
Funeral services for Sasakwa resident Joe Adam Cooper are scheduled for 11 a.m. Friday at the Sasakwa Assembly of God Church.
Rev. Wesley Martin will officiate.
Burial will take place at the Perryton Cemetery in Perryton, Texas, and are under the direction of Swearingen Funeral Home.
Cooper died Tuesday, Nov. 18, 2003 in Seminole at the age of 70.
He was born to Charles Cleveland Cooper and Dorothy Ann (Strouth) Cooper on July 6, 1933 in Hazel.
Cooper married Yevonne (Quick) Cooper on Aug. 19, 1992 in Texas.
He was the Owner/Operator of Joe A. Cooper Well Service in Perryton, Texas, and had been a resident of Sasakwa for four years.
Cooper was preceded in death by his parents; and one brother, Jr. Cooper in April of 1990.
Cooper is survived by his wife, Yevonne Cooper, of the home; two sons, Kenny Cooper, Granbury, Texas and Charlie Cooper, Perryton, Texas; two daughters, Kim Spirlock, Granbury, Texas and Susan Cooper, Amarillo, Texas; and 10 grandchildren.
Raymond Cooper
Funeral services for longtime Seminole resident, Raymond Cooper are scheduled for Saturday at 2:30 p.m. at the Maxey Funeral Chapel, located at 643 3rd St. in Paris, Texas.
He died on June 3, 2003 at the Hospital in Paris, Texas.
He had lived and worked in Seminole for over 40 years.
He was a long time employee of Mr. William’s Service Station in Seminole.
He leaves tocherish his memory, one stepson, Bob Curry; two sons, Ricky and Maurice Cooper; two daughters, Evone and Elaine Cooper; several grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
He also leaves five sisters and four brothers who live in Paris, Texas.
Bessie Cornelius
Funeral services for lifelong Seminole County resident Bessie Cornelius, known to her friends and family as "Aunt Bessie", are scheduled for 2 p.m. Wednesday at the Mekesukey Baptist Church.
Revs. George Harjoche and Dorsey Nero will officiate.
Burial will follow at the Jones Family Cemetery, under the direction of Swearingen Funeral Home.
Cornelius died Saturday, March 22, 2003 at the Elmwood Manor Nursing Home in Wewoka at the age of 83.
She was born to George Jones, a former Chief of the Seminole Nation in the 1930s, and Eliza (Morris) Jones on March 1, 1920 in Seminole.
Cornelius was a retired office clerk from Tinker Air Force Base.
She was a member of the Mekesukey Band of the Seminole Nation.
Cornelius was preceded in death by her parents; two brothers; and one son, Darryl Cornelius.
She is survived by one daughter, Cynthia Galbreath, Seminole; one son, Glynn Cornelius, Seminole; two grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
Jennie Coon Cotanny
Funeral services for Konawa resident Jennie Coon Cotanny are scheduled for Monday, Jan. 6, 2003 at 2 p.m. at Rock Springs Indian Baptist Church in Sasakwa.
Revs. Ed George and Franklin Harjo will officiate.
Burial will follow at Coon Family Cemetery under the direction of Pickard-Swearingen Funeral Home of Konawa.
A wake service is scheduled for Sunday, Jan. 5 at 7 p.m. at the family home in Konawa.
Jesus called our beloved mother home on Jan. 2, 2003 at Valley View Regional Hospital in Ada at the age of 75 years old.
She retired from Carl Albert Health Facility in Ada as a LPN.
She was born to Billy and Wesley (Davis) Coon on May 31, 1927 in Sasakwa.
On June 26, 1948, she married Wilford Cotanny in Yuma, Ariz.
Jennie was preceded in death by her parents; three brothers, Walter, Bennie, and Arthur Coon; two sisters, Martha and Annie Coon; husband Wilford on Sept. 22, 1974; and oldest son, Lucian Jay Cotanny.
Jennie is survived by one son, Dennis Cotanny of the home; two daughters and sons-in-law, Bianca and Kenneth Lawrence and DiAnn and Sam Wheeler of Konawa; daughter-in-law, Catherine Cotanny of Tecumseh; two sisters-in-law, Lorene Williams of Oklahoma City and Eliza Coon of Sasakwa; 16 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be Grant Cotanny, Waylon Cotanny, Charles Lawrence, Kenny Lawrence Jr., Brian Wheeler and Lucian Wheeler.
Honorary pallbearers will be Lucian Allen Cotanny and Donald Givens.
Carl Cox
Funeral services for a Wewoka resident, Carl Delbert Cox, are scheduled for 2:30 p.m., Tuesday at the Church of Christ in Wewoka.
Officiating the service is Johnny Hinton, being assisted by Mark Cox and Tony Cox.
Interment will follow at Oakwood Cemetery, under the direction of the Stout-Phillips Funeral Home of Wewoka.
Cox passed away April 4, 2003, at the age of 91.
He was born on March 31, 1912 in Hugo to Samuel E. and Mary Lou Tisha Cox.
Cox lived and attended school in Tulsa and moved to Wewoka in 1926 where married Mabel Harris on June 14, 1933.
He was an automobile dealer in Wewoka for 50 years. and was in the real estate business for 20 years.
He was also an active member of the Wewoka Church of Christ.
He was extremely proud of his grand children and great-grandchildren.
On his death bed he talked of how blessed he was that all his children and grandchildren loved and served the lord.
He is survived by three sons, Jim and wife Shirley Cox, Joe and wife Dorothy Cox and Johnny and wife Carolyn Cox; one daughter, Jane and husband James Buchanan; ten grandchildren and 31 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by Mabel Harris Cox in 1992 and one daughter, Joan, in 1937.
Pallbearers will be Keith Cox, Mark Cox, Kent Cox, Kirk Cox, Tony Cox, Mike Cox, Jeff Cox, and Jeffrey Wood.
Honorary pallbearers will be Chris Cox, Clint Cox, Jeremy Cox, James Buchanan, Jeff Wood, Roy Dickie, Tracy Bush, Jon Echols, Rowdy Kincade, Troy Ward and Ernest Moore.
ShaLynn Craig
Graveside services for ShaLynn Faith Craig, two-day old infant daughter of Seminole residents Shane and Kay (Peters) Craig are scheduled for 2 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 18 at Yeager Cemetery under the direction of Hudson-Phillips Funeral Home of Holdenville.
She died Monday, Sept. 15, 2003, in Oklahoma City.
She was born Sept. 13, 2003.
She is survived by her parents; grandparents, Sharon Peters of Seminole and Ann, Tim Craig of Harrah and Haskell and Linda Craig of Oklahoma City; several aunts, uncles and cousins.
She was preceded in death by her grandfather, Jim Peters and one uncle, Jimmie Dale Peters Jr.
Pallbearers are Stephen Lemmings, Steve Gentry, Scott Craig, and Donnie Lamb.
