Harold Cudjoe

Funeral services for life long resident of Seminole County, Harold Samuel Cudjoe are scheduled for 1 p. m. Saturday, Dec. 6 at First Baptist Church in Seminole.

Interment will follow at Westwood Cemetery in Wewoka under the direction of Myers Mortuary.

Rev. M.D. Cudjoe will officiate and Th. M. and Eulogy to be given by Dr. T.J. Roberts, TH.D of the Evangelistic Baptist Church of Christ in Oklahoma City.

Cudjoe died Tuesday, Dec. 2, 2003, at the age of 83 in Mercy Heart Hospital in Oklahoma City.

He was born Oct. 12, 1920, the first of seven sons, to Darrell and Willie Mae Jones Cudjoe in Lima.

He came from a very religious home.

Cudjoe confessed his belief in Christ at an early age and later united with the Evenezer Baptist Church in Seminole.

He attended Booker T. Washington School in Seminole where he graduated in 1940.

After graduation, he was united in marriage to Gladys Marie Robertson and to this couple was born one son, Robert Samuel Cudjoe.

On Oct. 28, 1942, Cudjoe was inducted into the United States Army where he served as a medical technician during World War II.

After separation from the army with an honorable discharge on Dec. 3, 1945, at Camp Chaffee, Ark., he immediately returned to Seminole.

Cudjoe began his college education at Langston University in 1946.

On Nov. 2, 1946, he was united in marriage to Willie Marie Jones.

To this union, six children were born.

After graduating in 1950, with a B.S. Degree in Science, the couple moved back to Seminole where Cudjoe lived for the rest of his glorious life.

In the fall of 1952, Cudjoe began his teaching career in Vernon, and was interrupted in 1956 due to the enrollment of Vernon decreasing and the closings of the school.

He also began a career as foreman at the T.H. Rogers Lumber Yard where he was employed for 12 years.

He returned to the classroom at the Boley Training School in the fall of 1968 and retired in 1984.

Cudjoe was a member of Alpha Pi Chapter of Kappa Alpha PSI Fraternity and a faithful member of the Seminole County Retired Educators Association.

His wife Marie; one daughter, Tonga L’Juana; his parents; and four brothers, Lance, Lawrence, Freeland and Commodore preceeded him in death.

He is survived by four sons, Cedric Cudjoe and Robert Samuel Cudjoe, both of Oklahoma City, Andre Roeshawn Cudjoe of Seminole and Tagzmin Cudjoe of Shawnee; two daughters, Acquanita Cudjoe of Dallas, Texas and Conchetta Cudjoe-Hudson of Norman; two brothers, Wilburt Cudjoe and Alvin Cudjoe, both of Oklahoma City; 10 grandchildren and six great grandchildren.

Active pallbearers will be Robert Samuel Cudjoe, Tagzmin Cudjoe, Antwan Cudjoe, Cedric L. Cudjoe, Cedric Lomar Cudjoe II, J.T. Thatcher, Scott Hurst, Andre Roeshawn Cudjoe, Gregory Cudjoe, Eric Roberts and Juan L. Bostic.

Honorary pallbearers are Bruce Patterson, Wilbur Stevenson, Earnest Stillwell, Wayne Chandler Sr. and Melvin Graham Jr.

Mikey G. Cullinan

Funeral services for longtime Seminole County resident, Mikey Cullinan, are scheduled for 2 p.m. Monday at Church of Christ with Johnny Hinton officiating.

He died July 5, 2003, at the age of 77, at his home following a long illness.

He was born on Sept. 12, 1925, in Sasakwa to Gladys and Michael Clark Cullinan.

He was an active member of the Church of Christ and served as Deacon until his illness failed him.

One of his favorite past times was teaching the little children in the church to shake hands.

He also served as the Silver Haired Legislature for two full terms serving as Senate Pro-Tem and Speaker of the House.

He served in the 82nd Airborne during World War II.

After his discharge he returned home where he met Georgetta Huff.

They were married March 16, 1950 and have celebrated 53 years of marriage.

He is survived by his wife, Georgetta of the home; One son, Mike and Suzanne Cullinan, Jr., Lewisville, Texas; two sisters Imogene Purcell of Atascadero, Calif. and Elizabeth (Betty Jo) Maltese and brother in law, Tony of San Jose, Calif.; One uncle, Gene Blankenship and Odessa of Bakersfield, Calif.; sister-in-laws, Kate Wilson of Holdenville, Marie Huff of Frances, and Stella Lawson of Borger, Texas.; one brother-in-law, Dwight Reams and Ina of Holdenville, cousins, Geneva and Norman Bullock, Alice and Joy Houston, James and Lovell Harris, and Veta and Cecil Moore; many other cousins, nieces and nephews, all of whom he was very fond of.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Pallbearers will be Mark Brannon, Phill Webb, David Jefferson, Randy Bullock, Ronnie Houston and Dale Ingram.

Honorary Bearers will be Cato Jones, Edie Neill, David O’Donnol, Durward Tucker, Cecil Moore and James Harris.

Interment will follow at Oakwood Cemetery under the direction of the Stout-Phillips Funeral Home of Wewoka.

Jack Curry

Funeral services for former Seminole County resident, Jack Edwin Curry, are scheduled for 10 a.m. on Friday at the First Free Will Baptist Church in Ada.

He died May 14, 2003 at the age of 77 in Ada.

He was born April 24, 1926, in Oilton, Creek County, Oklahoma to Glen Edwin Curry and Anna (Robinson) Curry.

He married Dorothy Jane Greer on November 18, 1948.

He attended school at Markham and graduated from Cromwell High School in 1944.

He attended the First Freewill Baptist Church in Ada.

He served in the U.S. Army from June 21, 1944 through June 1946, during World War II.

He served in Germany and France with an Artillery Division.

He attended East Central University after being released from the army in 1946.

He eventually moved to Ada in 1996.

He retired from Curry Hardware in Beggs.

He is survived by his wife, Dorothy, of the home, three sons, Gary Curry and his wife Sandra, Lary Curry and Mark Curry and his wife Janet all of Ada; three brothers; David Curry of Wewoka, Gene Curry of Erick and Pat Curry of Cromwell; five grandchildren, Lisa Stone, Tina Stewart, Zach Curry, Megan Curry and Justin Curry all of Ada; and one great granddaughter, Janelle Stone.

Pallbearers will be Don Bowers, Ernie Dunn, Stanley Sawyers, Bud Estes, Buddy Craig and Wayne Rodgers.

Officiating the services will be Rev’s. Ken Wolf and Frank Young.

Interment will follow to the Rosedale Cemetery under the direction of the Criswell Funeral home.

Clarence Dallas

Graveside services for Seminole resident Clarence William Dallas are scheduled for 10:30 a.m. Friday at Rest Haven Memorial Gardens in Seminole.

Rev. Carl Whitfield will officiate.

Services are under the direction of Swearingen Funeral Home of Seminole.

Dallas died Monday, May 19, 2003 at Seminole Medical Center at the age of 72.

He was born in Fetus, Mo., on Oct. 24, 1930.

Dallas married Patricia Marie (Hill) Dallas.

She preceded him in death on Nov. 15, 1988.

Dallas moved to Seminole from Missouri in 1995, and was a retired landscaper for Twin City Landscaping in Crystal City, Mo.

He was a veteran of the U.S. Army, and was of Catholic faith.

Dallas was also preceded in death by his parents; one daughter, Tina Lynn Dallas; and one son, Shawn Dallas.

He is survived by one daughter, Penny Woodruff, Seminole; four sons, Clarence Dallas, Perryville, Mo., Tim Dallas, Fetus, Mo., and Terry Dallas and Patrick Dallas, both of Seminole; one brother, Marvin Dallas, Crystal City, Mo.; two sisters, Beatrice Bellfield, Fetus, Mo., and Delmay Helensmithe, Wichita Falls, Texas; nine grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

Tony Davis

Funeral services for lifelong Seminole County resident, Anthony Curtis "Tony" Davis has been set for 2 p.m. at the Little River Indian Baptist Church in Spaulding.

Davis died April 13, 2003 at the age of 48 in his home in Seminole.

He was born February 23, 1955 in Oklahoma City to Charles Davis and Hazel Wood.

He was married to Thomasene Little on September 16, 1978 in Shawnee.

He worked for Haliburton for 17 years, and was a veteran of the National Guard.

He was a member of Spring Indian Baptist Church, was a board member of the seventh Generation/ Varnum school board member, Member of SNDA Gaming Commission, Member of Susfushetche Band, General Council Member of Seminole Nation, Traditional Grounds Member- Gar Creek.

He also attended Little River Indian Baptist Church and was Baptized on June 6, 1968.

He was preceded in death by his father, Charles Davis, his stepmother, Flora Davis and one sister, Janice Hill.

He is survived by his mother, Hazel Wood of Konawa, his wife, Thomasene Davis of the home; four daughters, Alison Scott of Okemah, Gena Davis, Jennifer Davis and Elisha Davis of the home; six brothers, Mickey Davis of Seminole, Kelly Davis, Jeff Larney, and Ronnie Harjo all of Konawa, Woodrow West of Wolf, Anson Davis of Sapulpa; three sisters, Terri Davis of Bowlegs, Sherrie Butler of Sapulpa and Colleen Larney of Oklahoma city; and three grandchildren.

Officiating the service will be Robert Davis and Bill Joe Harjo.

Casket bearers are Danny Driskell, Jimmy Lee Heard, Wendell Payne, Raymond Spraker, Travis Scott and Vernon Kittsmiller.

Honorary bearers include David Dossey, John Cope, Randy Wassam, T.A. Larney, Osceola Little and Emmitt Wood.

He will be taken to the church on Tuesday at 4 p.m..

Interment will follow to Davis Family Cemetery in Sasakwa under the direction of Sweraingen Funeral Home.

Bill Davis

Funeral services for lifelong Seminole resident Bill Louis Davis are scheduled for 2 p.m. Wednesday at First Baptist Church.

Dr. Kelvin Moseley is set to officiate.

Burial is to follow at Little Cemetery under the direction of Swearingen Funeral Home.

Davis died Sunday, Jan. 3, 2003 at his home at the age of 74.

He was born Jan. 14, 1928 in Seminole to Louis E. and Wilma (Taylor) Davis.

He married Donna Irene (Hause) on Sept. 11, 1952 in Seminole.

Davis retired from Melco Production in 1990. He also worked 21 years for Electrolux Corporation.

He was a veteran of the U.S. Navy where he was a Seaman 2nd Class.

He was preceded in death by his parents; one son, Brian K. Davis; and one sister, Odelle Works.

Davis is survived by his wife, Donna Davis of the home; his son and daughter-in-law, Mike and Mary H. Davis of Addison, Texas; his daughter and son-in-law, Lisa D. and Bill C. Campbell of Seminole; his daughter-in-law, Kathy Davis of Arlington, Texas; and four grandchildren, LaDawna Campbell, Rebecca Campbell, Joshua Davis, and Jacob Davis.
