Funeral services for Seminole County resident, Andrew "Jay" Jackson Harper, are scheduled for 1 p.m. on Saturday at the Pickard-Swearingen Funeral Chapel in Konawa.
He died on June 4, 2003, at the Harrah Nursing Center, at the age of 73.
He was born on Aug. 12, 1929, in Konawa, to Ruben Harper and Allie Nora (Blackwood) Harper.
He married Joyce Laverne Gilbert on Oct. 4, 1951 in Oklahoma City.
He was a gunsmith for 35 years for Mashburn Arms in Oklahoma City, retiring on Aug. 12, 1994, his 65th birthday.
He was a past VFW member; belonged to the Rifleman’s Association, received his master gardener from OSU and received his high school di0ploma in December of 2002 in Shawnee.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Ruben and Allie Harper.
He is survived by his wife, Joyce L. Harper, of the home; two sons, Gary J. Harper of Choctaw and Tony Harper of Charlotte, N.C.; three brothers, Bill Harper of Columbia, S.C., Richard Harper and Steve Chaney, both of Oklahoma City; one sister, Dolores Taliaferro of Norman; six grandchildren; two step-grand children; and two great grandchildren.
Officiating the service will be Bro. Randy Jordan.
Interment will be at the Vamoosa Cemetery under the direction of Pickard-Swearingen Funeral Home of Konawa.
Lula Harper
Funeral services for Seminole resident Lula M. (Riggs) Harper are scheduled for Monday, March 3, 2003 at 10 a.m. at the Trinity Baptist Church in Maud
Burial will be at the Cummings Cemetery in Maud under the direction of Knight-Swearingen Funeral Home.
Harper died on Feb, 28 at Unity Health North in Shawnee at the age of 65.
She was born on May 19, 1937, in Holy Cross, Ky. to John Edward Riggs and Mary Louise (Newton) Riggs.
She married Melvin Merral Harper on Aug. 17, 1957. He preceded her in death on July 29, 1984.
Harper was of the Pentecostal faith and was a licensed minister of the Lord’s Community Church, Seminole.
She had worked at Braums, Strothers School, KFC, and other restaurants in Seminole.
She is survived by five sons, Christopher, Shepherdsville, Ky., Merral and Jeffrey, Seminole, Tim, Glenpool, and Steven, Maud; five daughters, Donna Scarberry, Melissa O’Daniel, Sarah Harper, Rachel Bunnell, all of Maud; and Tammy Evans, Fort Worth, Texas; three brothers, Thomas Riggs, Louisville, Ky., Junior Riggs, Taylorsville, Ky, and Phillip Riggs, Indianapolis, Ind.; two sisters, Margaret Cary, Shepherdsville, Ky. and Lynn Garland, Elizabethtown, Ky; 25 grandchildren and one great grandchild also survive.
Louise Harrelson
Funeral services for lifelong Seminole resident Ida Louise (Darr) Harrelson, 66, are scheduled for 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at Swearingen Funeral Chapel.
Dr. Sam Matthews and Rev. Dale Jennings will officiate.
Burial will follow in Rest Haven Memorial Gardens, Seminole, under the direction of Swearingen Funeral Home.
Harrelson died Friday, July 25, 2003, at Seminole Medical Center.
She was born Feb. 7, 1937, in Seminole to Amel Paul and Lydia Lueetta (Scott) Darr.
She graduated from Seminole High School in 1955, and was a homemaker and a member of Family of Faith church in Shawnee.
She married Carl D. Harrelson on April 10, 1955, in Seminole; he survives her of the home.
Other survivors include her parents, Amel and Lucetta Darr of Seminole; one son, Robert "Bobby" Harrelson, Shawnee; two daughters, Martha Ann Allen of Norman, and Sharon Louise Stanberry, Seminole; one brother, Carl Eugene Darr, Seminole; seven grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
Woodrow ‘Woody’ Harris
Graveside services for Seminole County native, Woodrow "Woody" Harris, were held on Tuesday at 11 a.m. in Healdton under the direction of Mercer-Adams/
He died June 20, 2003, at the age of 90, in Oklahoma City.
He was born Nov. 8, 1912 in Konawa to Joseph W. and Maud M. Harris.
He served in the US Army during World War II from 1940-1945.
While home on leave in 1944, he married Lois Brown in Texarkana, Ark. on March 18, 1944.
One brother and three sisters preceded him in death.
He is survived by his wife, Lois, of the hoe; one brother, George Harris of San Diego, Calif.; one daughter, Mary Runyan of Altus; two sons, Mike Harris of Edmond and Clay Harris of London, England; and five grandchildren.
Zephra Allen Harris
Graveside services for former Seminole County resident, Zephra Allen Harris are scheduled for 2 p.m. Monday, July 28 at the Wetumka Cemetery.
She died July 25, 2003, at the age of 91 at Holdenville general Hospital.
She was born May 5, 1912 in Wetumka to Dee and Ella (Roberts) Allen.
She was a homemaker and enjoyed ranching, fishing and working in her flowerbeds.
She was a member of the Church of Christ in Wetumka.
She was preceded in death by her husband, George Harris, her parents, and two sisters, Mattie Swink and Bessie Proctor.
She is survived by numerous relatives and friends.
Services will be under the direction of Stout-Phillips Funeral Home, Wewoka.
Jessie Harrison
Funeral services for longtime Seminole County resident, Jessie "Kenneth" Harrison are scheduled for 2 p.m. Monday, Sept. 15 at the Pickard-Swearingen Funeral Chapel in Konawa.
Officiating will be Revs. Lewis Perry, Wilburn Wilson and Maynard Whipple.
Interment will follow at Vamoosa Cemetery under the direction of Pickard-Swearingen Funeral Home, Konawa.
He died Saturday, Sept. 13, 2003, at the age of 74 in Konawa.
He was born Sept. 15, 1928, in Sasakwa to Jack Robert Frank Harrison and Dovie (Barnett) Harrison.
He was married to Jewell "Dean" (Hudson) on Dec. 7, 1946 in Sasakwa.
He was a cattle buyer and rancher for many years.
He was a member of Vamoosa Baptist Church.
He was preceded in death by one child, Lyndal Eudon Harrison.
He is survived by Dean Harrison of the home, one son, Larry Harrison of Stratford four daughters, Kaye Lewis of Ada, Jeanie Brewer, Lisa Gonzalez and Teresa Townley, all of Konawa; two brothers, Edger Harrison of Lawton and Bill Harrison of Ada; two sisters, Frankie Johnson of Bowlegs and Bernice Gribble of Altus; 12 grandchildren; three great grandchildren and a host of other family and friends.
Serving as pallbearers will be Todd and Terry Bowles, Keith Miller, Gordon Brewer, Bo Honsinger, Foster Johnston, Kevin and Darren Townley, Jeremy Harrison, Chase Chamberlain and Corey Fixico.
Honorary bearers will be Ray, Arlie and Art Hudson, Robert Gribble, Neal Leech and Wilburn Wilson.
Otis ‘Mike’ Harrison
Memorial services for Seminole County resident, Otis Gene "Mike" Harrison are scheduled for 2 p.m. Friday, Oct. 3, at Swearingen Funeral Chapel, Seminole.
Rev. Steve Cline will officiate the services under the direction of Swearingen Funeral Home, Seminole.
He died Sunday, Sept 28, 2003, at the age of 74 at Seminole Medical Center.
Harrison was born April 8, 1929, at Stonewall to Otis Harrison and Eliza Jane (Ellison) Harrison.
He was married to Colleen Marie (Smith) Harrison April 4, 1953.
He was retired as vice president of Coulter Steel Company in Emeryville, Calif., where he worked for 37 years.
Harrison was a veteran of the U.S. Army and Merchant Marines.
He served during the Korean conflict as Master Sergeant.
He was also a member of the Masonic Lodge in California.
His parents and one sister, Pathresa Newton, preceded him in death.
He is survived by his wife, Colleen Marie (Smith) Harrison; one son, Grady Harrison of Oakland, Calif.; two daughters, Linda Harrison of Noble and Trudy Harrison of LaPorte, Texas and one grandson.

Willie Harrison
Funeral services for former Seminole County resident, Willie Harrison are scheduled for 2 p.m. Sunday, Sept 21 at the Boque Chitto Facility Building.
Interment will follow at the Isleepy Cemetery under the direction of Colvert Memorial Gardens Funeral Home.
He died Sept 17, 2003, at the age of 49 in Muscle Shoals, Ala.
He was born April 19, 1954, in Wewoka to Grover Harrison and Judy (Tiger) Harrison.
He grew up around Wewoka.
He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Buddy Harrison; sister, Laverna Harrison; and one son, Ramie Harrison.
He is survived by his wife, Brenda of the home/ children, Kristen Fowler of Muscle Shoals, Ala.; his sons Jeramiah Harrison and Ramie Harrison of Philadelphia, Miss.; brothers Thomas, Richard, Eugene, and Raymond Harrison, all of Wewoka; George Harrison of Tennessee and Daniel Harrison of Oklahoma City; sisters, Wanda Bruner and Juanita Williams, both of Wewoka Patricia Harrison of Oklahoma City; as well as other family members.
