Sue Jackson

Memorial services for longtime Seminole resident, Sue Jackson are scheduled for 10:30 a.m. Monday at the Church of Christ at Little.

She died Aug. 7, 2003, at the age of 76 at Pioneer Nursing Home, Seminole.

She was born Sept 1, 1926, in Seminole to longtime Seminole residents, Luther West and Elizabeth (Davis) West.

Her grandfather, John West was one of the founding fathers of Seminole and established the First Baptist Church in Seminole.

She was married to Fred Jackson on Jan. 7, 1947 in Seminole.

She and her husband, Fred initially established a home in the Strother community, but in 1950 moved to Oklahoma City.

Upon his retirement in 1985, they returned to Seminole to live among relatives and friends.

She was a homemaker and she and her husband were members of the Church of Christ at Little.

She is survived by her spouse, Fred Jackson of the home, Son and daughter-in-law, Morris and Deloris Jackson of Norman; Daughter and son-in-law, Connie Sue and Navoy Skinenr of Wanette; six grandchildren, Allan Skinner of Wanette, Gary Don Skinner and Donna Sue Carrillo of Lexington, Mark Jackson and Matthew Jackson of Norman and Marta Coombs of Edmond; and 14 great grandchilren.

Casket Bearers will be Christopher Skinner, Gary Skinner, Josh Skinner, Rufino Carrillo, Mark Jackson and Matthew Jackson.

Minister Rusty Dawson and Swearingen Funeral Home will conduct a memorial service at the Church of Christ, Little

Veneta Charles Jackson

Funeral services for longtime Seminole resident, Veneta Charles Jackson is scheduled for 2 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 9 at the Swearingen Funeral Chapel, Seminole.

She died Aug. 1, 2003, at the age of 95 at Seminole Estates.

She was born Dec. 5, 1907, in Windsor, Mo. to Charles Lockwood and Sally Kathrine (Houston) Lockwood.

She was married to Lehman Jackson.

She also lived in Oklahoma City, Sapulpa and Ponca City.

She was a homemaker and also worked for John A. Brown Department Store in Oklahoma City for several years.

She was a member of Hilltop Assembly of God Church where she played the piano for many years.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband in 1977, sister, Geneva Hill and two brothers.

She is survived by Ruby Cochran of Fall Brook, Calif., Lonnie Hill of Noble, numerous nieces and nephews as well as many other family and friends.

Rev. Roy Robertson will officiate the services.

Interment will follow at Little Cemetery, north of Seminole under the direction of Swearingen Funeral Home, Seminole.

Cecil Jefferson

Graveside services for Seminole County resident, Cecil Jefferson are scheduled for 2 p.m. Friday, Nov. 28 at the Earlsboro Cemetery with Rev. Moses Jones officiating.

Services will be under the direction of Swearingen Funeral Home of Seminole.

He died Tuesday, Nov. 25, 2003, at the age of 67 at Integris Baptist Medical Center in Oklahoma City.

Jefferson was born April 17, 1936, in Smithville to Henrietta Jefferson James.

He married Betty (Bowman) Jefferson on Feb. 20, 1985 in Oklahoma City.

He was a retired minister and welder.

Jefferson pastored at many churches including some in the Maud area.

His denomination was Independent Full Gospel

He was preceded in death by his mother; grandmother; and great grandmother.

He is survived by his spouse, Betty of the home; two sons, Arnold Dean Jefferson of Beggs and Michael Jefferson of Ada; one step son, Richard Whitman of Earlsboro; two daughters, Debbie Jefferson and Beatrice Berryhill of Okmulgee; four stepdaughters, Charlotte Fullbright and Paula Elliott, both of Oklahoma City, Theresa Henson of Minot, N.D. and Carol Whitman of Tecumseh; one half-brother, two half-sisters, Shirley Hawkins and Kathy Cogburn; many brothers of the Jones Academy; 19 grandchildren and several great grandchildren.

Katherine H. Jenkins

Funeral services for Seminole County resident, Katherine H. Jenkins are scheduled for 2 p.m. Monday, Aug. 18 at the First Baptist Church in Tecumseh.

She died Aug. 14, 2003, at the age of 95 in Maud.

She was born March 9, 1908 in Tecumseh to Charles Harrington and Mattie (Tribbey) Harrington.

She was married to Earl E. Jenkins on March 9, 1929 in Tecumseh.

He preceded her in death of Jan. 10, 1975.

She moved to Maud 30 years ago.

She was a homemaker and a member of the First Baptist Church of Tecumseh, Maud Order of Eastern Star, Tecumseh Senior Citizens and Tecumseh Live Wires.

She was preceded in death by her husband, one daughter, one son, two brothers and her parents.

She is survived by her children, Robert Jenkins of Norman, Carl Jenkins of Shawnee, and Mary F. Zeller of Maud; one sister, Margaret Herrington of Tecumseh;10 grandchildren and 21 great grandchildren.

Casket will remain open at the First Baptist Church from 10 a.m.- 1 p.m. on Monday.

Casket bearers will be her grandsons, James Zeller, David Zeller, Bryan Jenkins, Earl Jenkins, Roderick Jenkins Alexander Jenkins and Kenneth Jenkins.

Honorary bearers will be her granddaughters, Kathy Zeller, Captain Sara Jenkins and Carol Williams.

Rev. John Watts of Simms, Texas, assisted by Rev. Tim Walker of Tecumseh will officiate the services.

Interment will follow at Tecumseh Mission Cemetery in Tecumseh under the direction of Knight-Swearingen Funeral Home of Maud.

Johnnie K. Buckner

Funeral services for Seminole resident, Johnnie K. Buckner are scheduled for 2 p.m. Tuesday at Hillabee Indian Baptist Church in Hanna.

She died Aug. 2, 2003, at the age of 47 in Oklahoma City.

She was retired

All arrangements are under the direction of Midtown Tulsa Chapel in Tulsa.

Hattie M. Johns

Services for longtime Seminole County resident, Hattie M. Johns is scheduled for Friday, July 18 at 12 p.m. at Ebenezer Baptist Church in Seminole.

She passed from this life on July 13, 2003, after 95 years.

She along with her husband, Calvin R. Johns, Sr. (deceased) with whom she was married for over 70 years, dedicated their lives to the religious and educational success of the Seminole County.

She may be viewed Thursday at Myers Mortuary in Wewoka and she will lie in state at Ebenezer Baptist Church Friday, beginning at 10 a.m.

She is survived by her sons, Billy Johns of Seminole and Calvin (Barbara) Johns of Montgomery, Ala.; her grandchildren, Dennis (mother Bernice deceased), Janice (Steven), Charisse, Calvin III, Jacques, Mark, and Clark (Elna) (mother, Annette); her great grandhcildren, Annette, Marquita, Jacques, Jr., Clark II and Ashley, her sister, Jeannette Miller; and nephews, Charles (Henrietta), Richard and Clark.

The family requests no flowers, but make contributions to the United Negro College Fund.

The family will match all donations given.

Make checks payable to the United Negro College Fund and mail to P.O. Box 724, Seminole, Ok. 74818-0724.

Rev. Larry Payne will officiate the service.

Interment will follow in Resthaven Cemetery, Seminole.

Connie Johnson

Funeral services for former Wewoka resident, Connie Jean (Gasaway) Johnson are scheduled for 2 p.m. Wednesday at Stout-Phillips Funeral Home Chapel in Wewoka.

Johnson died at her residence in Oklahoma City on April 11, 2003 at the age of 53.

She was born on October 13 1949 in Oklahoma City.

She was a graduate of Capital Hill School in Oklahoma City in 1967.

Her parents and one sister, Sherriann Goodrich, preceded her in death.

One sister Trina Ragland of Adis, La., her stepmother, Emley Gasaway of Oklahoma City; and two stepsisters survive her, Barbara King of Oklahoma City and Marion Johnson of Edmond.

Rev. Jimmy Freeman will officiate.

Interment will follow at Oakwood Cemetery under the direction of the Stout-Phillips Funeral Home.

Eula Mae Johnson

A memorial service for Eula Mae (Aldridge) Johnson is set for 2 p.m. at the Cromwell Baptist Church in Cromwell.

She died on March 30, 2003 at the age of 65 in Glenwood Springs, Colo.

She was born on November 20, 1937 to Marlon "Gebo" Aldridge and Vivian (Crenshaw) Aldridge.

She is survived by Robert F. Johnson of Glenwood Springs; one daughter, Susan Lasiter of Olympia Washington; three step-daughters and one stepson;three sisters, Janis Aldridge of McAlister, Leta Bourque of Cromwell, Mary Woody of Prague; Gene aldridge of Cromwell and many other relatives and close friends.

She attended Excelsior School then moved to Ontario, California where she retired from General Telephone and she then moved to Glenwood Springs, Colo.

She was a special angel, kind, generous and loving and always gave of herself.

Franklin Johnson

OKLAHOMA CITY – Funeral services for Bowlegs native Franklin Johnson are scheduled for 10 a.m. Wednesday at Smith and Kernke Chapel.

Services are under the direction of Smith and Kernke Funeral Directors.

Johnson died Saturday, Jan. 25, 2003 at Manor Care South at the age of 75.

He was born May 2, 1927 in Bowlegs to Bennie Johnson and Mary Lowe.

He worked in civil service for Tinker Air Force Base.
