Funeral services for lifelong Seminole County resident, Robert Allen Lena are scheduled for Wednesday at 1 p.m. December 3 at Sand Creek Eufaula Church with Revs. Houston Tiger, Billy Merritt, and Jimmy Alexander officiating.
Wake services were set for Monday at 6:30 p.m. Dec. 1 at the Stout Chapel and Tuesday at 7:30 p.m. December 2 at the Sand Creek Eufaula Church
Lena passed away Saturday Nov. 29. 2003, joining his wife of 50 years.
He was a long life resident of Seminole County.
He was born February 28, 1924, to Charlie and Winey Lena of Wewoka, Okla.
He was a US Army veteran serving during World War 11 in the Philippines.
He received many honors during his service: Philippines Liberation Ribbon, Pacific Campaign Ribbon, Good Conduct Ribbon, Expert Rifle Badge, Expert 45 pistol badge.
After serving he come home to marry Wanda Lee Thomas and children born to them nine boys and five girls.
He was baptized at the Sand Creek Eufaula Church by Joe Tiger.
He served on the Seminole Nation Council Band Chairman and on the Justice Board of Education for many years.
He was on of the first Lighthorseman to serve after WW11.
He wanted to recognize his special nephews, Oscar Bunner and Charles Merritt, a niece Cherrie Wood and grandson Brian Harjo. He had many special friends in the community, Arnold and Maxine Melton, Dan and Allison Simpson Wade and Wand Hand, Roy Sisco, Frank Streater, Eddie Smith, Burl & Essie Barnhart and Ramsey Thomas.
He is survived by Four daughters, Janice Powell of Wewoka, Christine Lena of Wewoka, Lorene Black of Seminole and Jennifer Lena of OKC.
Eight sons, Bobby Lena of Glenpool, David Lena of Okemah, Jonas Lena of Wewoka, Ronnie Lena of Sapulpa, Earl Lena of Okeechokee, FL. Mel Lena of Shawnee Dale Lena of Wewoka, Jay Lena of Wewoka. 40 grandchildren, 23 great grandchildren, 2 sisters Cora Green of Wewoka, Mary Jane Lena of Wewoka, 1 brother, Frank Lena of Wewoka. He is preceded in death by his parents Charlie and Winey Lena and 4 brothers, Joe, Edward, Willie and Tom Lena and 1 sister, Elizabeth Douglas, 1 daugher Cecelia Lena, 1 son Jeffery Lena and two grandchildren Bobby Jr. Lena, Veronica Lena and great grandchild Baby Alexander,
Maria Liebschwager
A memorial service for longtime Seminole County resident, Maria Concepcion ‘Connie’ (Mendiola) Liebschwager will be held at 7 p.m. Monday at Stout-Phillips Chapel with Pastors Floyd Tate and Gabriel Gomez officiating.
She was born April 3, 1938, in Mission Texas to Pedro and Victoria Mendiola.
She died June 30, 2003.
One of ten children, she was known for her kind heart and easy smile.
She graduated from Sequoia High School in California and later obtained her cosmetology degree.
On Dec. 10, 1965, she married DeWayne G. Liebschwager while living in Redwood City, Calif.
They have lived in Wewoka for 22 years where Connie has worked in the community and acquired a great number of caring friends.
She was a member of Tri-City Christian Center.
She is survived by her husband of 37 years, DeWayne of the home; 6 children, Wendy Christiansen, Debra Reynolds, Robert Birchett, Jheri Birchett, Ryan Liebschwager and Connie Juistice; 8 siblings, Lorenzo Mendiola, Eppy Mendiola, Angie Richert, Rigio Mendiola, Eva Schmidt, Lucy Liebschwager and Fidel Mendiola, all of Calif., and Richard ‘Rick’ Mendoiola of Wewoka; 13 grandchildren, and many nieces, nephews, other relatives and a host of friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents and one sister, Alicia Lopes.
Raymond Delbert Liles
Funeral services for Raymond Delbert Liles, long-time Seminole County resident, are scheduled for 2 p.m. Friday, Aug. 22, in the Stout-Phillips Funeral Home Chapel, Wewoka.
He passed away on Aug. 19, 2003, at the age of 95.
He was born on March 17, 1908, in Pine Ridge, Ark, to G.A. and Pearl (Wimberly) Liles.
He married Gladys Bernice (Bennett) Liles in Jan. 1938, in Mena, Ark.
He was raised and attended schools in Mena, Ark.
He attended Electronic Trade School in Chicago then owned and operated a furniture and appliance store in Mena for many years.
He was also a rancher and worked as a handyman for Doner hardware in Sasakwa.
He was a member of the Odd Fellows Lodge.
He was preceded in death by his wife, his parents, and six brothers.
He is survived by one daughter and son-in-law, Janice and Bill Mynhier of Sasakwa; three grandchildren, Gregg and Betty Mynhier of Hensley, Ark., Elisa Mynhier of Arlington, Texas, and Brent and Paulette Mynhier of Pauls Valley; three great-grandchildren, one sister, Lois Liles of Blytheville, Ark; and two brothers, Leonard Liles of Bixby, and Clement Liles of Mena, Ark.
Pallbearers will be Gregg Mynhier, Brent Mynhier, Brandon Mynhier, Ross Mynhier, Martin Sanders, and Billy Jack Norman. Honorary Bearers will be Tony Palmer and John Wilson.
Rev. Wesley Martin will be officiating.
Interment will be at Oakwood Cemetery under the direction of Stout-Phillips Funeral Home, Wewoka.
Lindil Pete Fowler
Funeral services for former Wewoka resident, Lindil Pete Fowler are scheduled for 1:30 p.m. on Tuesday at the Stout-Phillips Chapel.
He died on April 18, 2003 at the age of 78 in his home in Tishomingo.
Service will be officiated by Bro. Freeman under the direction of Stout-Phillips Funeral Home.
Interment will follow to Oakwood Cemetery.
Patricia Lindsay
A memorial service for Holdenville resident and Wewoka native Patricia Ann Lindsey will be held at 1:30 p.m. Monday at the Jacobs residence, located at 100 Lou Drive in Holdenville.
Revs. Sam Harrison and Houston Tiger will officiate.
Services will be under the direction of Stout-Phillips Funeral Home of Wewoka.
Viewing will be at Hudson-Phillips Funeral Home in Holdenville.
Lindsay died Thursday, Nov. 13, 2003 at the age of 55.
She was born to Roman and Ida Mae Yahola on Dec. 11, 1947.
Lindsay attended Carter School in Ardmore.
She married Gene Lindsay in 1971 in Seminole.
Lindsay worked for Paws Dog Grooming in Tulsa until retirement in 1988.
She was a member of Sand Creek Eufaula Baptist Church, and was baptized by Joe Tiger.
Lindsay was preceded in death by her mother, Ida Mae Yahola; one infant son, Gene Lindsay; two brothers, Leo Simon Fish and George Lee Fish; and one nephew, Eastman Ray Wise.
She is survived by her husband, Gene Lindsay, of the home; three children, Elissa Genie Lindsay, Holdenville, Clarissa Harjo Cosey, Tulsa, and Jonathon Harjo, Tulsa; one special friend, Nita K. Jacobs; and three grandchildren.
Ima Linduff
Funeral services for Ima B. Linduff, grandmother of Seminole resident Debbie Lyon, are scheduled for 10 a.m. on Saturday at the Cooper Funeral Home Chapel in Tecumseh.
Dr. Tim Walker of the First Baptist Church of Tecumseh, and Terry Jackson, Chaplain of Angelic Hospice, will officiate.
Burial will follow at the Tecumseh Cemetery, under the direction of Cooper Funeral Home.
Linduff died Tuesday, Feb. 11, 2003 in Tecumseh at the age of 95.
She was born to Frank and Sallie (Shinpoch) Allen on April 25, 1907 in Tecumseh.
Linduff was a lifelong resident of the Tecumseh area, living in the house in which she was born until 1979.
She attended grade school at Highland, and high school at Tecumseh.
She married Lincoln Linduff on Feb. 5, 1927 in Tecumseh.
Linduff was a homemaker, and was active with the Tecumseh senior citizens for many years and attended First Baptist Church of Tecumseh.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Lincoln, on Dec. 5, 1979; two brothers, Ira Allen and Albert L. Allen; and one sister, Ila Linduff.
Linduff is survived by one daughter, Nova Lester, Tecumseh; one granddaughter, Debbie Lyon, Seminole; one grandson, Terry Lester, Ft. Worth, Texas; one sister, Susie Bentley, Ponca City; two great-granddaughters and one step-granddaughter.
Cecile (Stevens) Little
Funeral services for Seminole County resident, Cecile (Stevens) Little are scheduled for Aug. 6 at 10:30 a.m. at the First Baptist Church in Wewoka.
She passed from this life to spend eternity with her Lord on Sunday, Aug. 3, 2003, at the age of 82.
She was born April 4, 1921, in Tishomingo to William Henry and Audie (Moore) Stevens.
She married Marvin Little Nov. 29, 1939, in Wewoka.
They owned Jack’s Shoe Store in Wewoka for many years, until Cecile retired.
She was a lifelong resident of Wewoka and was an active businesswoman and civic leader in the community for many years.
She was an active member of the First Baptist Church of Wewoka and was very active and energetic until her final days.
She was a caring and loving mother, grandmother, daughter, sister and aunt.
She was a friend to all and never met a stranger.
She will be greatly missed by many relatives, friends and her church family.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 47 years, Marvin Little; her father and mother, William Henry and Audie (Moore) Stevens; two sisters, Mae Byerly and Willie Pullin; three brothers, Elmer Stevens, Charlie Stevens and Delmer Stevens.
She is survived by two sons and daughters-in-law, Jim and Saba Little of Wewoka and Roger and Beth Little of Prague; three grandchildren, Jennifer Little Banfield and husband Bart of Eufaula, Jeremy and Salam Little of Prague; two great grandsons, Bo and Jacob Banfield; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Interment will follow at Oakwood Cemetery in Wewoka under the direction of Stout-Phillips Funeral Home.
