Graveside services for life long Seminole resident, Donald Ray Melton of Stigler, are scheduled for 2 p.m. Friday at the Little Cemetery under the direction of Swearingen Funeral Home.
Melton died April 8, 2003 at Muskogee Regional Medical Center at the age of 65.
He was born on November 8, 1937 in Seminole to Norman Leon Melton and Rosa Mae (Driskill) Melton.
He was married to Mae (Webb) Melton.
He was a self-employed mechanic and was a member of the Moose Lodge in Arizona.
He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother.
He is survived by his wife, Mae Melton of the home; three sons, Rick Melton and Terry Melton both of Seminole and Mike Melton of Aztec, N.M.; two daughters, Donita Burgess or Prague and Teresa Birdwell of Seminole; one brother, Arnold Melton of Globe Ariz.; two sisters, Norma Phillips and Wanda Pinkerton both of Seminole; 15 grandchildren and eight great- grandchildren.
Casket bearers are Don Pinkerton, Marshall Phillips, Gene Abbott, Richie Birdwell, Richard Whitley and Charley Lynch.
Honorary bearers are Jim Braun, Jerry Poff and C.D. Houck.
Ronald ‘Oogie’ Melton
Funeral services for Seminole resident Ronald "Oogie" Wayne Melton, were scheduled for 1:30 p.m. Friday, April 18, 2003 at the Bird Creek Church in Sasakwa.
Revs. Newman Crow, Jr., Norman Daniels, Kenneth Cooper, and Bunnie Carpitcher will officiate.
Interment was to follow at the Bird Creek Baptist Church Cemetery, under the direction of Stout-Phillips Funeral Home of Wewoka.
Melton died Monday, April 14, 2003 at Integris Baptist Hospital in Oklahoma City at the age of 52.
He was born to William and Ester (Little) Melton on Aug. 30, 1950 in Talihina.
Oogie attended school at Varnum and Strother.
He was a member of the Bird Creek Church and was ordained as a Baptist Minister on March 1, 2003 by Rev. Norman Daniel from the Bird Creek Church.
Melton was a veteran of the U.S. Army, serving during the Vietnam Ere.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and his wife, Mary Elizabeth Melton.
Melton is survived by two sons, Ron Melton Jr., Oklahoma City, and Artimus Melton, Seminole; five daughters, Joyce Ann Melton, Seminole, Eleanor Melton, Santo Domingo Pueblo, N.M., Allison Melton and Lory Melton, both of Santa Domingo, N.M., and Jerry Dawn Melton, Oklahoma City; five brothers, William (Bill) Melton, Jr., Norman, John Melton, Seminole, Lloyd Martin, Wewoka, Robert Martin, Ponca City, and Scott Martin, Wewoka; five sisters, Janie Hand, Oklahoma City, Mary Yearby, Overbrook, Toni Martin, Wewoka, Tamara Martin, Shawnee, and Thomasene Davis, Seminole; one uncle, Charles "Red" Little, Shawnee; and companion Johnnie and Tiffany West, Wewoka.
Pallbearers will be Leon Lusty, Hop Harjo, Dave Little, Jake Larney, Artimus Tanyan, and Rusty Powell.
Honorary bearers will be Kenneth Cooper, Bunnie Carpitcher, Jeff Factor, Kelly Tiger, Frank Moppin, Dan Factor, and Sonny Braswell.
Richard Eric Mendiola
Funeral services for Seminole County resident, Richard Eric Mendiola are scheduled for Thursday at 7 p.m. in Stout-Phillips Chapel.
He died July 26, 2003, at the age of 60 in Midwest Regional Medical Center in Oklahoma City.
He was born July 17, 1943, in Mission, Texas to Pedro Mendiola and Victoria Vella Mendiola.
He was one of ten children.
He was raised in California and graduated from Redwood Sequaha City High School.
He moved to Wewoka in 1995 and had been employed with the Seminole County Sheriff Department.
He was preceded in death by his parents and two sisters, Alicia lpez and Connie Liebschwager.
He is survived by one daughter, Michelle Caeser of Wewoka; one son, Austin Mendiola of Wewoka; two grandchildren; brothers and sisters, all of California, Lorenzo ‘Larry’ Mendiola, Eppy Mendiola, Angie Richert, Rigo Mendiola, Eva Schmidt, Lucy Liebschwager and Fidel Mendiola; a host of nieces and nephews and other relatives and friends.
Services will be under the direction of Stout-Phillips Funeral Home, Wewoka.
Charles A. Mensay
A memorial service for Charles A. Mensay, father of Debra Kiser of Maud, are scheduled for 2 p.m. Saturday at the Flour Bluff-Padre Isles Funeral Home Chapel in Corpus Christi, Texas.
He died on July 15, 2003, at the age of 69 in a Corpus Christi hospital.
He was a retired accountant and served his country in the U.S. Air Force during the Korean War.
He was also a member of the Gardendale Baptist Church.
He is survived by one son, Leonard Mensay of Corpus Christi, Texas; one daughter, Debra Kiser of Maud; and five grandchildren.
Ida Mae ‘Sissy’ Skeen Mesarick
Services for Seminole County resident, Ida Mae "Sissy" Skeen Mesarick were held Saturday, Aug. 30 under the direction of John M. Ireland Funeral Home and Chapel, Moore.
She died Aug. 29, 2003, in Oklahoma City.
She was born Nov. 24, 1940, in Maud.
She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Moore.
She enjoyed crochet, sewing, knitting and shopping.
She dearly loved her grandchildren.
She is survived by her husband of the home, two sons, two stepchildren, one brother, four sisters, four grandchildren and two step-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, six brothers and one granddaughter.
Ida Mae ‘Sissy’ Skeen Mesarick

She died Aug. 29, 2003, in Oklahoma City.

Alan Miller
Rev. Alan D. Miller, Shawnee, died Sunday, March 23, 2003, at the age of 59, at Integris Baptist Hospital in Oklahoma City.
He was born in Seminole County, Oklahoma, on February 27, 1944, to Alec Dixie Miller and Irene Cornelius Miller.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Alec and Irene Miller; one brother, Billy Joe Miller; four sisters, Francis Miller Pecore; Kathy Nina Miller, Pauline Miller and Baby Miller.
He is survived by his wife Carol Miller and grandson, Brandon Ehologee, of the home; three sons, Alvin D. Miller, Alex D. Miller and Milan T. Ricker, all of Shawnee; three daughters, Angela D. Miller-Salceda, Seminole, Andrea D. Mitchell Miller, Tecumseh; and Anna M. Miller, Shawnee. 15 grandchildren: Jacob, Taryn Pak-se, & Laurin Kococum-‘PV McGeisey, Ellic Tustvnuk-ke Rakke & Raven Miller, Samson Miles Fixico, Hunter-Alexis Miller, Brandon Ehologee & Marty Iyo Terronez, Michael Eco-hutke Haney, T-Anna Rey Fus-Cate Lena, Daniel Albert Rafo-hakaf, Autumn Oske, Essiah Tahokne, and Alexis Caroline Mitchell. Three brothers, George C. Miller, Aurora, Colorado; Josey D. Miller, Shawnee and Joaquin Miller, Shawnee, three sisters, Martha L. Mooney, Seminole, Josephine Miller, Shawnee, and Karen Sue Miller, Seminole. Six nephews and 12 nieces, numerous great-nephews and nieces, other relatives and friends.
Alan married Carol Ann Ell from Browning, Montana on November 29, 1967; they have six children.
He enlisted in the U. S. Marine Corp from September 13, 1961 to January 17, 1966, serving during the Viet Nam era.
Alan attended school at Strother, Shawnee and Tecumseh and received his GED in Oakland, California.
He attended Law School at OCU, Oklahoma City and Albuquerque, New Mexico; he graduated from Aircraft Mechanic School in June 1967 and was an aircraft mechanic until he entered college.
He graduated from San Francisco State College on January 14, 1975, with an Inter-disciplinary Social Science Degree.
He was in the PBS documentary "Alcatraz is not an Island" and he worked for the Seminole Nation of Oklahoma for several years and was Vice-chief from September 1982 through 1986.
He was licensed to preach by Reverend Bill Barnett from First Indian Baptist Church in Seminole, Oklahoma; he was ordained as a Baptist Minister on March 13, 1998 by Reverend Dan Factor from Akasvmkv Baptist Church, Wewoka, Oklahoma.
Alan and his wife, Carol were missionaries to the Seminole Tribe of Florida on the Brighton Riverside; and Alan pastured Faith Baptist Church in Dustin, Oklahoma from March, 2000 to December, 2002.
He was of the Ocese Band and Beaver Clan of the Seminole Nation.
The family suggests donations may be made to Integris Baptist Hospital Family Care Center.
Visitation will be at the family home on Tuesday, and he will be moved to Snake Creek Baptist Church, North of Seminole at 5:30 p.m., Tuesday evening.
A wake service is scheduled for Tuesday evening at the church; starting at 7 p.m.
Funeral service will be on Wednesday, March 26, 2003, at 2 p.m. with Reverends Dan Factor and Bill Barnett officiating.
Pallbearers will be Truman Bowers, Hiram Gibbs, Duane Mack, Don Patterson, Russell Waldron, Joe Bender, Bennie Lena, Jimmy Hawkins, James Milam, Bob Williams, Tom Jones, Charles Gabby Mitchell and Louie Lena.
Honorary pallbearers will be Steven Stone, Quincy Brown, Roger Brown, Josiah Miller, George Miller and Joseph Miller.
Interment will follow at Snake Creek Baptist Church Cemetery, under the direction of Stout-Phillips Funeral Home, Wewoka, Oklahoma.
Cogee Factor Miller
Funeral services for lifelong Seminole County resident, Cogee Factor Miller are scheduled for Monday, Aug. 18 at 2 p.m. at Stout Phillips Funeral Home with Rev. Jimmy Anderson officiating.
She died Friday, Aug. 15, 2003, at the age of 98.
She was born in Wewoka on Jan. 28, 1905 to William and Nancy Bender Factor, who preceded her in death.
She attended Sacred Hart Catholic School, Sam School and Emahaka Schools.
She was a lifelong member and a women’s leader of Little Quarsarty Baptist Church.
She was also a member of Muskogee-Creek Baptist Association.
She was one of the last of the original Allottee’s Creek Nation.
She married Legus L. Miller and worked as a housewife.
Her husband preceded her in death on Oct. 6, 1977.
She is survived by her children, Rosalie Grothaus of Shawnee and Sally Taylor of Wewoka; two sisters, Mary Joyce Tiger and Lena Wright, both of Wewoka; 7 grandchildren; two great grandchildren; one great-great grandchild and a host of nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.
She is preceded in death by her parents; her husband; one infant son; 4 brothers, Kenneth, George, William Jr., and Harry Factor; and two sisters, Sarah Factor and Nora Harjo.
A wake service will be held at Stout-Phillips Funeral Chapel on Sunday, Aug. 17 at 6 p.m..
Pallbearers will be Eddie Lagrone, Ronnie Factor, Kevin Marshall, Randall Marshall, Eric Grothaus and Travis Jackson, Jr.
Honorary pallbearers will be Joshua Morgan, James Factor, Jr. and Joe Bender.
Interment will follow at Factor Family Cemetery under the direction of Stout-Phillips Funeral Home of Wewoka.
