Eugene T. Miller went to be with our Lord on Oct. 2, 2003.
He was born in Maud on May 7, 1935, the son of the late Charles Miller and Fannie Harjochee.
Eugene graduated from Chiloco Indian School in 1953.
He served in two branches of the Armed Forces; first serving in the United States Marine Corp for four years and receiving several outstanding medals.
Eugene received the National Defense Service Medal, Korean Service Medal, United Nations Service Medal, Good Conduct Medal (First Award).
While serving in the United States Navy, Eugene received several distinguished medals including the Vietnam Service Medal (3), Vietnam Campaign Medal, National Defense Service Medal (2), Korean Service Medal, United Nations Service Medal and a Marksmanship Medal.
Eugene retired with an Honorable discharge after serving 20 years in the U.S. Navy.
In 1974, he received an Automotive Mechanics Certificate from Southwest Automotive School in Moore.
In 1980, Eugene graduated with a Bachelors Degree in Fine Arts from the University of Oklahoma.
Eugene loved all types of sports, mainly being an avid fan of his alma mater, the Oklahoma Sooners.
He was also a member of the Disabled American Veterans Commanders Club of Moore.
Eugene enjoyed playing cards with his fellow veterans on Tuesdays and Thursday afternoons.
He also had a great love for his two cats, Metchita and Asco.
Eugene was preceded in death by his parents; one infant sister; and one brother.
He is survived by eight sisters, Roxie Haynes, JoAnn Factor and Kitty Miller-Fawcett of Prague, Jeanette Postoak, Esther Miller-Fourkiller and Cindy Miller of Tulsa, Pinky Miller-Cole, Oklahoma City, and Arlis Miller-Banagas, Whittier, Calif.; two brothers, Reo Miller, Seminole and Dewayne Miller, Earlsboro; one uncle, Andrew Harjo; brothers-in-law Sonny Cole, Elmer Haynes, Sam Banagas, Justin Fawcett and Newman Factor; one sister-in-law, Linda Miller; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
A wake service will be held tonight at 6:30 p.m. at the Swearingen Funeral Home Chapel.
A memorial service will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday at the Swearingen Funeral Home Chapel.
Rev. Randall Miller will officiate.
Burial will take place at Little Cemetery, under the direction of Swearingen Funeral Home.
Jo Evolyn Miller
Funeral services for Bowlegs native Jo Evolyn Miller are scheduled for 10 a.m. Wednesday at the Vondel L. Smith & Son Mortuary Chapel in Oklahoma City.
Burial and graveside services will follow at Maple Grove Cemetery in Seminole, under the direction of Vondel L. Smith & Son Mortuary.
Miller died Saturday, Aug. 23, 2003 at Duke University Medical Center after a long fight with cancer.
She was born to Charles Dewey Chamblin and Dessie Morphis Chamblin on Oct. 10, 1931 in Bowlegs.
Miller married Truman Joe Miller, founder of Abide Realtors for 35 years.
She worked in the firm for many years, and moved to North Carolina in 1994.
Miller was preceded in death by her parents.
She is survived by her son, Michael Truman Miller, San Francisco, Calif.; her daughter, Michele Miller Schwartz, Wake Forest, N.C.; and one granddaughter.

Virginia Miller
Memorial services for former Seminole resident, Virginia S. Mueller are scheduled for 10 a.m. Thursday, Dec. 18 at the Welborne Methodist Church in Richmond, Va..
Interment is scheduled for 10 a.m. Friday Dec. 19 at the Arlington National Cemetery next to her husband of 54 years, Col. Frank J. Mueller.
Mueller died in Richmond, Va. on Monday, Dec. 8, 2003.
She was born in 1924 in Tishomingo to Judge Elmer J. Sutherland and Cleo Green Sutherland and was raised in Seminole.
She was a resident of Our Lady of Hope retirement community and a member of Welborne Methodist Church.
The Mueller’s made their home in Biloxi, Miss., Fountainbleau, France, Montgomery, Ala, Washington, DC, Wiesbaden, Germany, WPAFB, Ohio, and then retired back to San Antonio, Texas.
She was active in church, school activities, and volunteer work wherever the USAF took them and was a charter member of Jefferson Methodist Church in San Antonio, Texas.
Through PEO, she was an advocate and supporter of continuing education for women.
For her determination and dignity, she was an inspiration to all who knew her and will be deeply missed.
Mueller is survived by her daughters, Kathryn Mueller, Anne Mueller, and Michele Arnold and their spouses, Ken Brown and David Arnold..
She is also survived by her big sister Joanne Sutherland Leitka and John Leitka of Bethany, six grandchildren; and two great grandchildren

Claud Mills
Funeral services for native Seminole County resident, Claud Mills, were held Tuesday, Dec. 2, 2003 at First Baptist Church in Midland, Texas with Dr. Gary Dyer and Rev. Bob Hopkins officiating.
Graveside services have been scheduled for 9 a.m. Thursday, Dec. 4 at Little Cemetery in Seminole.
Arrangements are under the direction of Ellis Funeral Home, 801 Andrews Hwy. Midland, Texas.
Claud Mills, of Midland, Texas passed away Friday, Nov. 28, 2003, at the age of 86.
He was born April 4, 1917 in Seminole County to Rufus Melvin Mills and Bertie Mae Arnold Mills.
He served in the U. S. Army during World War II.
Prior to his retirement he had been employed with The Borden Company.
He was preceded in death by his first wife, Mary Ilene Morgan in 1990.
Claud is survived by his wife, Laverne Mills of Midland, Texas; daughters, Claudia Sue Lewis and her husband, Floyd of Spring, Texas; Kay Starr Welch and her husband, Robert of Fredericksburg, Texas; grandchildren, Mary Kay Sims of Georgetown, Texas; Jason L Lewis of Magnolia, Texas; Claudine E. Fuentes of Sachse, Texas; great-grandchildren, Kobe Fuentes and Simon Fuentes of Sachse, Texas; Rachel E. Sims of Georgetown, Texas; sister, Edna Parrish of Seminole, brother, W.C. Mills of San Angelo, Texas; numerous nieces and nephews.

Dwight Mills
Funeral services for longtime Seminole resident, Dwight Lillard Mills, are scheduled for 2 p.m. Monday at Swearingen Funeral Home.
Rev. Carl Whitfield is set to officiate.
Burial is to follow at Little Cemetery under the direction of Swearingen Funeral Home.
Mills died May 22, 2003, at Seminole Medical Center at the age of 51.
He was born in Seminole on Sept. 17, 1951 to Bobby Lindberg and Joan (Gilkey) Mills.
After high school graduation, Mills served as a Senior Airman in the United States Air Force from May 13, 1974 until he was honorably discharged on May 12, 1978.
After his service time, he worked with construction companies at gasoline and natural gas plants.
He also worked as a security guard at a variety of locations.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Joan (Gilkey) Mills in 1966; his father, Bobby Lindberg Mills in 2002; his grandparents, Bertie and R.M. Mills and Grace and Barstow Gilkey; and an infant brother, James Lynn Mills in 1948.
He is survived by his step-mother, Pauline Wilcox Mills of Seminole; step-sister, Diane Meeks of Noble; step-brothers, Buster and J.D. Wilcox, both of Seminole; aunt, Edna (Mills) Parrish of Seminole; uncles, Claud Mills of Midland, Texas and W.C. Mills of San Angelo, Texas.
As a member of the Ruful M. Mills family, Dwight has many other cousins, aunts and extended family members who love him and will miss him
Casket bearers are Rex Mills, Kenneth Parish, Buster Wilcox, Gene West, Melvin Underwood and J.D. Wilcox.
Honorary bearers are Walter C. Mills, Claud Mills, Tommy Russell, Guy Harris, Leland Bancroft, Chuck Parish and Gene Mills.
Sam A. Mitchell
Funeral services for former Seminole resident, Sam A. Mitchell, were scheduled for Wednesday at 1 p.m. at the Campbell Funeral Home in Carmi, Ill.
He died June 29, 2003, at his residence in Carmi.
He was born Sept. 14, 1931, in Seminole to Sam A. and Pauline Lucille (Crain) Mitchell.
He married Phyllis D. Poole June 26, 1981.
He was a retired mail carrier and a retired fire fighter in Seminole and worked for George Mitchell Drilling Company in Carmi.
He was a member of the Masonic Lodge of Seminole as well as the Free Will Baptist Church.
He attended the Cherry Street General Baptist Church in Carmi.
He was also a Korean War Air Force Veteran.
He is survived by his wife, Phyllis, of the home, five daughters, Susan Pinkerton of El Paso, Texas, Teresa Reich of Topeka, Kan., Melisa Weddle of Rockwall, Texas, Betty Noey of Papillion, Neb. and Kimberly Tharp of Morton, Ill.; a sister, Evelyn Cox of Seminole; two brothers, Billy Mitchell of Shawnee and Ron Mitchell of Seminole; nine grandchildren; and several cousins.
He was preceded in death by one sister, Ellen Littles.
Officiating the services was Rev. Bob Pollard.
Interment was in the Union Ridge Cemetery under the direction of Campbell Funeral Home.
Memorial gifts may be given to the Cherry Street General Baptist Church building fund.
Wizy Mitchell
The funeral service for Seminole County resident, Wizy Mitchell will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 15 in the Stout-Phillips Funeral Home Chapel in Wewoka.
Interment will be at the Snake Creek Baptist Church Cemetery in Little.
Mitchell died Sunday, Oct. 12, 2003, at the age of 54 in Oklahoma City.
She was born Nov. 30, 1948, in Seminole County, to Marshall Lee Mitchell and Susie Fixico.
She was reared in the Seminole County and Shawnee areas and was a member of the Snake Creek Baptist Church.
She was preceded in death by her parents, and one brother, Herschell Chebon Mitchell.
She is survived by one brother Barney Mitchell of Bethany; two sisters, Katherine Deere of Tecumseh, and Rosie Joan Gentry of Washington; and a host of other relatives and friends.
Also, Pat Bell, for being her close friend and being there when she needed help getting around.
Pallbearers will be Larry Deere, Steve Yeager, Charles Mitchell, Marcus Mitchell, John Ray Walker, and Leonard Walker.
