Dora Mae Moore

Funeral services for former Seminole resident, Dora Mae Moore ace scheduled for 10 a.m. Tuesday, Nov. 18at Chelsea Church of Christ.

Graveside services will follow at 3 p.m. at the Maple Grove Cemetery in Seminole.

Visitation will be held at the Chelsea Funeral Home from 1-8 p.m. on Monday, Nov. 17.

Moore died Wednesday, Nov. 12, 2003, at the age of 97.

She was a member of the Seminole Church of Christ for over 50 years.

Virgle Moore

A Memorial service for Konawa native Virgle Leon Moore is scheduled for 11 a.m. Wednesday at the Guardian West Funeral Home Chapel in Oklahoma City.

Moore died Sunday, Aug. 31, 2003 at the age of 66 in Oklahoma City.

He was born to Roscoe and Edna Moore on Sept. 24, 1936 in Konawa.

Moore worked at Hoster Steel Mill in Oklahoma City.

He was preceded in death by his parents; one brother, Harold Moore; and one sister, Emma Jean Short.

Moore is survived by two daughters, Teresa and Julie Moore; one son, Michael Moore; a brother, Sam Moore; two sisters, Dorothy Brown and Carolyn Martin; and two grandchildren.

Yvonne Shermaine Moore

Funeral services for longtime Seminole County resident, Yvonne Shermaine Moore of Wewoka will be held Thursday at 10 a.m. at the Stout-Phillips Funeral Home Chapel.

She was born August 3, 1937, to Elmer D. and Doris Baker Moore.

She lived in Wewoka for 31 years and passed away July 15, 2003, in the Seminole Medical Center.

She was preceded in death by her parents and one brother, Earl M. Moore.

She is survived by an aunt, Mildred Moore, of Oklahoma City, an uncle, William Kay, of Ortonville, Michigan, sister-in-law Barbara Moore, many cousins who loved her and her many friends at Oakridge Home.

Interment will follow in Dale Cemetery under the direction of Stout-Phillips Funeral Home of Wewoka.

Gerald Morris

Funeral services for longtime Seminole resident, Gerald Wayne Morris are scheduled for 10 a.m. Thursday, Dec. 11 at Swearingen Funeral Chapel with Revs. Carl Whitfield, Steve Cline and Frank Foster officiating.

Interment will follow at Holdenville Cemetery under the direction of Swearingen Funeral Home of Seminole.

Morris died Monday, Dec. 8, 2003, at the age of 51 in his home in Seminole.

He was born July, 27, 1952, in Holdenville to Gerald Leland Morris and Geraldine (Collis) Morris and graduated from Bowlegs High School in 1971.

He was married to Janet Denise (Bailey) Morris and was disabled.

He was a member of Trinity Baptist Church.

He is survived by G.L. and Betty Morris of Seminole, common-law spouse, Janet Denise Morris of the home, daughter and son-in-law, Terri Laine and J.D. Stasny of Prague; step-daughter and son-in-law, Shalene and Jeff Lewis of Seminole; step-daughter, Jessica Bailey of Seminole; brothers, George Morris and Robert Morris, both of Seminole; three step-grandchildren, Tyler, Jasmine and Brooklyn Bailey of Seminole; and mother and father-in-law, Bobbie and Paul Postman of St. Louis.

He was a very loving son, father, husband and grandfather and had many friends who loved him.

Casket bearers will be Wendell Darnell, Opie Daniels, Eddie Boatman, Wade Kifer, Jeff Lewis and Phillip Welch.

Honorary bearers are Robert Vasquez, Doyle Morris, Michael Morris, Randell Myers and J.D. Stasny.

Harold Morris

Funeral services for former Seminole resident, Harold Wayne Morris, now of Duncan, are scheduled for 10 a.m. Monday, Dec. 15 at the Don Grantham Funeral Home Chapel in Duncan with Rev. Randy Scraper officiating assisted by Dr. Jack Robbins.

Interment will follow at 3 p.m. at Maple Grove Cemetery in Seminole under the direction of the Don Grantham Funeral Home.

Morris died Wednesday, Dec. 10, 2003, at the age of 89 at Duncan Care Center in Duncan.

He was born July 22, 1914, in Stonewall to Samuel D and Mabel Nelson Morris.

He married Vivian Matthews on Oct. 4, 1936.

He was a veteran of World War II, serving in the U.S. Navy.

Morris was co-owner of Western Auto and later a sales clerk at Hopeman Equipment Company.

He belonged to the Audubon Club, Lions Club, Board of Stewards and was a member of the First United Methodist Church.

He enjoyed hunting and fishing.

He is survived by his wife, Vivian of the home; two daughters, Barbara Ply and husband John of Flagstaff, Ariz. and Virginia Stanley of Amhurst, N.H.; one brother, Charles Morris of Lenexa, Kan.; six grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

Pall bearers will be Don Blevins, Ken Roberts, Tommy Downey, Roger McConnell and Rod Kovar.

Honorary pall bearers will be the couples class of First United Methodist Church, Dr. Paul Gose and Bobby Pollock.

Memorial Contributions may be made to Heartland Care Hospice.

William Morris Jr.

TUSTIN, CALIF. – Word has been received of the death of Seminole native William Ira Morris Jr.

He was to be buried at Riverside National Cemetery in Riverside, Calif.

Morris died Friday, Jan. 3, 2003 at the age of 61.

He served in the United States Marine Corps during the Vietnam War as a code breaker.

After he left the military, he worked in the electrical field for nearly 40 years.

Morris is survived by his wife, Charlotte; two daughters, Kimberly Velazquez of Tustin, Calif. and Sherri Morris of Seattle, Wash.; and a sister, Joyce Yerby of Stillwater.

Helen Moses

Funeral services for Bowlegs native Helen J. Moses, are scheduled for 2 p.m. Thursday at the Smith Funeral Home Chapel in Sapulpa.

Rev. Roy Robertson will officiate the services.

Services are under the direction of Smith Funeral Home of Sapulpa.

Moses died Monday, March 3, 2003 at the Bristow Medical Center in Bristow, at the age of 62.

She was born to William Brian and Iva Elizabeth Meek Hilton on March 23, 1940 in Bowlegs.

Moses was a home health care provider and a member of the Bowlegs Assembly of God Church.

She was preceded in death by her parents; and two brothers, Robert and Ray Hilton.

Moses is survived by four daughters, Donna Chandler, Owasso, Pennie Nicholson, St. Louis, Mo., Lisa Ndawula, Hurst, Texas, and Andrea Littlebear, Bristow; two brothers, Tommy Hilton, Richmond, Texas, and Mike Hilton, Seminole; six sisters, Norma Welch, Bowlegs, Betty Meloy, Wilson, Billie Vaughn, Kingfisher, Joann Zelaya, Seminole, Linda Pierce, Maud, and Darlene Selfridge, Seminole; nine grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

Honorary pallbearers will be Larry Chandler, Sam Nicholson, Harley Meloy, J.J. Fritz, Brooklynn Littlebear, Samuel Ndawula, and Troy Welch.

Sandra Moses

Wake services for Sandra "Birdie" Moses are set for 6:30 p.m. Wednesday at Stout-Phillips Funeral Home in Wewoka.

She will be take to Hilltop Presbyterian Church in Wewoka at 4 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 30 with wake services there to be held at 7 p.m.

Funeral services will be Friday, Oct. 31 at 1 p.m. at the Hilltop Presbyterian Church.

Interment will be at the Moses family cemetery in Limestone under the direction of Stout-Phillips Funeral Home in Wewoka.

Sandra Fay ‘Birdie’ Moses

Wake services for Seminole County resident, Sandra Fay "Birdie" Moses are scheduled for 6:30 p.m. Wednesday at Stout-Phillips Funeral Home.

She will be taken to Hilltop Presbyterian Church on Thursday at 4 p.m. and wake services will start at 7 p.m. at the church on Thursday.

Funeral services will be at 1 p.m. Friday, Oct. 31 at the Hilltop Presbyterian Church.

Interment will follow at the Moses family cemetery in Limestone under the direction of Stout-Phillips Funeral Home of Wewoka.

Moses died Monday, Oct 27, 2003, at the age of 41.

She was born Oct. 27, 1963, to Sam and Josephine McGertt Moses.

She attended and graduated from New Lima High School.

She was a member of Hilltop Presbyterian Church in Wewoka.

She resided at Elmwood Manor until her death.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Sam Moses in 1996 and Josephine McGertt Moses in 1974, one sister, Wanetta "Rosetta" Moses in 1995 and one brother, Harold Moses in 1972.

She is survived by one sister, Suzanna Moses, and one brother, Harlan Moses, both of Wewoka as well as several other relatives and friends.

Pallbearers will be Olie Gunville, Jim Gunville, Cornelius Garcia, Steven "Kvcv" Wolf, Paul Stewart and Charles Trevino.

Honorary pallbearers will be Mickey Hill, Bryan McGertt, Shawn McGertt and Larry Harrison.

Flowergirls will be volunteers.
