Graveside services for longtime Seminole resident, Lillie Mae Orr are scheduled for 2 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 8 at Paden Cemetery under the direction of Swearingen Funeral Home.
She died Sunday, Oct. 5, 2003, at the age of 95 in Amarillo, Texas.
She was born Sept. 19, 1908, in Grimes to Arthur Neil Gleaves and Stella Elizabeth (Atha) Gleaves.
She was married to William "Bill"Orr, who preceded her in death.
She was a homemaker and a member of the First Baptist Church of Seminole.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, four brothers and one sister.
Helen Collene Pack
Funeral services for longtime Seminole resident Helen Collene Pack are scheduled for Wednesday, June 11, at Temple of Praise Church in Seminole.
Rev. Harold Turner is set to officiate.
Interment will follow at Little Cemetery, under the care of Swearingen Funeral Home in Seminole.
Pack died Sunday, June 8, 2003, at Unity Health Center North, in Shawnee, at the age of 73.
She was born Nov. 23, 1929, in Oklahoma City, to Robert Eual Sweet and Lola Irene (Rowland) Sweet.
She moved to Seminole in 1941, where she was a homemaker and a member of First Christian Church.
On Feb. 26, 1946, she married Troy E. Pack Sr., in Holdenville. He preceded her in death on Sept. 25, 1982.
Mrs. Pack was also preceded in death by her parents.
She is survived by one son, Troy E. Pack Jr., Seminole; one daughter, Sandra Wederski, Seminole; one sister, Patricia Pack, Seminole; seven grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren.
Casket bearers will be John Rhoades, Bubba Rhoades, Charlie Hinesley, Jason Hinesley, Robbie Callahan and Casey Lyle.
Honorary bearers are Michael Pack, Mica Wederski, Jerry Don Pack and Christopher Pack.
Ruby Pauline Page
Funeral services for former Seminole resident Ruby Pauline Page are scheduled for 2 p.m. Friday at the Chapel of Walker Funeral Service.
Officiating minster will be Marilyn Williams.
Interment will follow at the Resthaven Memorial Park under the direction of Walker Funeral Service.
Page died Tuesday, March 11, 2003, at the age of 78 in Edmond, OK.
She was born to R.B. and Nellie Pauline Williamson on Aug. 31, 1924, (also her mothers birthday) in Earlsboro.
She married Dexter Page in 1948. She and her husband resided in Oregon back in the 1950’s and she fondly remembered that beautiful countryside.
Later, she and her husband managed a cattle ranch outside of Seminole for several years. In the late 1970’s they were managers of the Shawnee Motel.
Ruby enjoyed camping, gardening, and canning. She was accomplished as a seamstress. She may be remembered most drinking coffee and playing dominoes.
She is survived by two sons, Paul Page of Lubbock, Texas, and Carl Page of Edmond; one daughter, Patty Dunagan of McLoud; one brother, H.B. Williamson of San Antonio; and six grandchildren.
Nancy Palmer
Funeral services for Seminole resident Nancy Judy Palmer are scheduled for 2 p.m. Wednesday at the Stout-Phillips Funeral Home Chapel in Wewoka.
Revs. Dave Bowlegs and Andy Alexander will officiate.
Interment will follow at the White Family Cemetery, known as "Grannie’s Cemetery, East of Seminole, under the direction of Stout-Phillips Funeral Home.
Wake services will be held tonight at 6:30 p.m., also at the Stout-Phillips Funeral Chapel.
Palmer died Saturday, Feb. 15, 2003 at her niece’s residence in Shawnee at the age of 68.
She was born to Jim Palmer and Cora White on March 2, 1934 in Seminole.
Palmer grew up in Seminole County and graduated from New Lima school.
She was a self-employed caregiver and cared for her family and others throughout her life, until her illness.
Palmer was preceded in death by her parents.
She is survived by her sister, Nelsey Palmer Leetka, Seminole; and her brother, Tony Palmer, Sasakwa.
Pallbearers will be Robert J. Leetka, Anthony J. Orr, William J. Leetka, Ronnie Lewis, Robert L. Leetka, Jr., Steve Orr, Dwight Little Creek, and Edward L. Smith.
Honorary bearers will be Robert L. Leetka, Sr., Christopher L. Leetka, Thomas J. Mack, Sr., Kevin L. Mack, Felix W. Mack, Leon Bell, Kelly Bell, Darrin Mack, and Donnell Berry.
Margy Parent
Funeral services for former Seminole County resident, Margy A. Parent are scheduled for 10 a.m. Thursday, Oct. 23 in the Chapel at the Bill Eisenhour Funerla Home located at 5005 S.E. 29th in Del City.
Interment will be at the Kolb Cemetery located at N.W. 36th and Midwest Boulevard.
Parent died Oct 19, 2003, at the age of 87.
She was born in 1916, in Wetumka to John and Ida Mae Heath.
She attended Bowlegs and Varnum Schools and graduated from Varnum High School.
She was married 57 years ago to Gregory N. Parent who died in 1994.
Also preceding her in death were three sisters, Florence Bennett, Zilla Heath and Lilly Heath; five brothers, Herman Heath, Ronnie Heath, Bill Heath, Aquentin Heath and Jack Heath.
She is survived by one daughter Barbara Lafon; two sons, Dale Parent and Gary Parent; and four grandchildren.
William Thomas ‘Tommy’ Parks
A service in honor of, and to celebrate the life of, William Thomas "Tommy" Parks is scheduled for 2 p.m., Friday, Dec. 12, at the Park and Seminole Church of Christ.
Parks died Tuesday, Dec. 9, 2003, at his home in Seminole at the age of 58.
He was born in Seminole on Nov. 24, 1945, to Bill Mark Parks and Thelma Elaine McElroy.
Parks graduated from Seminole High School in 1963. He attended Oklahoma State University, where he received a Bachelor of Science Degree in Chemistry in 1968.
He married Judy Ann Thrasher at the Church of Christ in Stillwater on Feb. 10, 1967.
Parks attended the U. S. Naval Officer Candidate School (OCS) in Newport, R.I., and graduated as a Commissioned Ensign in May 1969.
After serving at the U.S. Naval Base in Key West, Fla., where he attained the rank of Lieutenant JG, Parks returned to Oklahoma State University and received a Master’s Degree in Business Administration in May 1972.
Returning to Seminole in 1972, Parks joined his father’s business, Bill Parks Tank Company, and later Parkinsol Oil Company, where he was serving as president at the time of his death.
He attended the Church of Christ in Seminole his entire life.
Preceding him in death were his mother, Thelma Parks, and one brother, Carol Gene Parks.
Parks is survived by his wife, Judy, of the home; two sons, Derek Parks and Tyler Parks, both of Seminole; one daughter-in-law, Amber Parks of Seminole; two grandsons, Nathan Parks and Gavin Parks of Seminole; his father and stepmother, Bill and Bonnie Lee Parks of Seminole; one sister and brother-in-law, Vivian and Tommy Mills of Seminole; one sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Debi and Terry Casey of Seminole; two nieces and their husbands, Piper and Cameron John, who live in Fernan Dina Beach, Fla., with their daughters, and Misty and Dr. Jeff Floyd and their children, of Edmond; and two extended family members, Natasha Dockery and Meirna McHugh.
The family requests memorial donations be made to Park and Seminole Church of Christ, Twin Lakes Racquet Club or Seminole State College Tennis Program.
Jack Parsons Jr.
Funeral services for former Seminole County resident, Jack Parsons Jr. of Davis were scheduled for 2 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 27 at the East Main Church of Christ with Dwight Brown and Thomas Thompson officiating.
Interment followed at the Green Hill Cemetery.
He died Friday, Dec. 26, 2003, at the age of 79 in Ardmore.
He was born Jan. 24, 1924, in Shawnee to Laura Parsons.
He was raised by his grandparents, John and Annie Parsons and his mother, Laura Parsons.
He married Jessie Bray on May 11, 1946 in Seminole.
He grew up in the Little area, between Prague and Seminole.
He served in the U.S. Army during World War II and was awarded the Purple Heart.
He moved to Davis in May of 1959 and was retired from AMOCO Productions after 33 years of service.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Laura Parsons Carter; and two brothers, Otis Parsons and J.B. Franklin.
He is survived by his wife, Jessica Parsons of the home; two sons, Gary Parsons of Davis and Larry Parsons of Watonga; one sister, Shirley Warden of Muskogee; one brother Frank Carter of Tecumseh; four grandchildren and gwo great grandchildren.
Pallbearers were Chad Parsons, Brandon Parsons, Dustin Parsons, Chayne Parsons, Rick Warden and Mike Sudderth.
Honorary pallbearers were Troy McElvaney, Al Brumley, Paul Fine, Russell Warden, Sammie Jones and Bill Springer.
Leora Parsons
Graveside services for former Seminole County resident, Leora Eunice Parsons are scheduled for 2 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 27 at the Holdenville Cemetery in Holdenville with Scott Sullivan, youth minister of the Holdenville First Baptist Church, officiating.
Funeral services were scheduled for 2 p.m. Friday, Dec. 26 in Carmichael-Whatley Colonial Chapel with Rev. Carl Novian, associate pastor of First Baptist Church, officiating.
Arrangements are under the direction of Carmichael-Whatley Funeral Directors of Pampa, Texas.
Parsons died Tuesday, Dec. 23, 2003, at the age of 94 in Pampa, Texas.
She was born Feb. 14, 1909 at Pear Valley, Texas.
She was reared at Calvin and was a graduate of East Central University in Ada.
She married Roy L. Parsons on July 8, 1930, at Holdenville moving to Wewoka, shortly thereafter.
He preceded her in death in Wewoka in 1958.
Parsons was a school teacher for many years and was also a designer for Edna Looney products for 16 years.
She had been a resident of Pampa, Texas since 1993 and was a member of the First Baptist Church.
She is survived by one daughter, Georgia L. Smith of Pampa; one son, Noel Parsons of Lubbock; one sister, Elena Mae King of Tyler; four grandchildren and two great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband; two brothers, Lloyd Atkinson and Clifton Atkinson; and one sister, Jimmie Marie Atkinson.
