Funeral services for Maud native and former resident Texon Carlton Richards are scheduled for 2 p.m. Thursday at the Choctaw Church of Christ in Choctaw.
Marty Kessler will officiate the services.
Services are under the direction of Swearingen Funeral Home of Seminole.
Richards died Saturday, April 19, 2003 at St. Anthony’s Hospital in Oklahoma City at the age of 67.
He was born to Noel Elvin Richards and Annie Lillian (Ryker) Richards on Sept. 17, 1935 in Maud.
Richards married Colleen (Bailey) Richards on June 30, 1957 in Perryton, Texas.
He retired from the Petroleum industry, and was a member of the Choctow Church of Christ.
Richards was preceded in death by his parents.
He is survived by his wife, Colleen, of the home; one son, Terry Don Richards, Fort Lupton, Colo.; one daughter, Carla Reneau Richards, Aurora, Colo.; two brothers, Noel L. Richards, and Delbert Richards; two sisters, Ozeeta Dodson and Treva Ann Phipps; five grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

Bernice Richardson
Funeral services for Seminole resident Bernice Richardson are scheduled for 10:30 a.m. Thursday at the First Free Will Baptist Church.
Rev. David McDougal will officiate.
Burial will follow at Little Cemetery, under the direction of Swearingen Funeral Home.
Bernice passed away Sunday, March 30, 2003 at Seminole Medical Center at the age of 87.
She was born to Willard Anderson and Ola Christine (Deaton) Anderson on Oct. 8, 1915.
Bernice married Dan W. Richardson on Aug. 16, 1933 in Francis.
She was a longtime Seminole resident, moving from Ada in 1943.
Bernice was a Tax Preparer for H & R Block in Ada for 12 years, and was a member of the First Free Will Baptist Church, was active in the Quilting Club at the church.
She also loved water aerobics at Seminole State College.
Bernice was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; two daughters, Wanna Williams and Sandra Ann Richardson; three brothers, Hershel, Millard, and Leon Anderson; and one great-grandson, Aaron Armstrong.
She is survived by two sons and daughters-in-law, Will and Lynda Richardson, Grand Prairie, Texas, and Vic and Maureen Richardson, Seminole; three daughters and sons-in-law, Ina Jean and Dick McQueen, Muskogee, Alpha and Harvey Young, Seminole, and Deanna and Ivan Armstrong, Stillwater; and son-in-law, Jim Williams, Shawnee; one brother, Glen Anderson, Ada; one sister, Wilma Craig, Albuquerque, N.M.; 14 grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren.
Mrs. Richardson’s grandsons will serve as casket bearers.
Michael T. Riley
Funeral services for husband of former Seminole resident, Michael T. Riley are scheduled for Monday at 1:30 at Dorcus Chapel at Marian College in Wis.
He was born Nov. 28, 1950 at Eldora, Iowa. to William and Anna Mae Lawler Riley.
On Sept. 12, 1983, he married Nancy C. McElroy in Madison, Wis.
He died June 26, 2003, at Waupun Memorial Hospital, Waupun, Wis.
He worked as a sales representative for various agricultural businesses.
He received a degree in soil and water conversation from Oshkosh and recently completed a bachelor of business administration degree from Marian College.
He enjoyed hunting, fishing, boating and was a member of the Duck’s Unlimited.
He is survived by his wife, Nancy of Fold du Lac; two daughters, Chanin Riley of Deerfield, Wis.; Sarah Riley of Fond du Lac, Wis.; one son, Jason Riley of Madison; one grandson, Dylan Michael Riley of Madison; four brothers, Dennis Riley of West Liberty, Iowa, John Riley of Manchester, Iowa, Robert Riley of Lanark, Ill. and David Riley of Creston, Iowa; his father and stepmother, William and Ellie Riley of Lamont, Iowa.
He was preceded in death by his mother and one infant brother, Donny.
Visitation will be on June 29, from 4-8 p.m. at Uecker-Witt Funeral Home.
Sisters’ Marie Scott and Judith Schmidt will officiate.
Interment will be at Calvary Cemetery under the direction of Uecker-Witt Funeral Home.
Mary Rippy
Graveside services for Seminole County resident, Mary Gertrude (LaValley) Rippy are scheduled for 2 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 30, 2003, at the Wetumka Cemetery in Wetumka.
Officiating the service will be Rev. Frank Moppin.
Services are under the direction of Stout-Phillips Funeral Home of Wewoka.
She went to be with Jesus Sept. 24, 2003, at the age of 89 at her home in Wewoka, where she had lived for the past 30 years.
She was born Oct. 5, 1913 to Conley and Rosa (Winters) LaValley in Wetumka where she was also reared, attending Fairview School.
She married Roy Rippy on Sept. 30, 1933 in Wetumka.
She worked as a "Rosie the Riveter" during World War II, building ships in Richmond, Calif.
She was a homemaker who had all the survival skills that the 1930s’ depression forged.
She made lye soap, canned and dried foods, made quilts and clothes, picked cotton and washed on a rub board.
She would routinely walk six miles to Wetumka for groceries.
Mary’s husband, Roy, lost his arm in an accident, but she was always by his side.
He was killed in an explosion in Yukon on Dec. 23, 1952, leaving Mary, at the age of 36, to walk the road alone.
She was very proud of her Creek heritage, her mother had been allotted land.
She attended the Spring Baptist Church in Sasakwa.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Conley and Rosa (Winters) LaValley; her husband, Roy Rippy; two brothers, William Solomon (Bud) LaValley and Clyde Lawton LaValley; and two sisters, Lottie Eula Harris and Rosa Irene Wheeler.
She is survived by three daughters, Connie and Vern Davis of Joplin, Mo., Ramona and Andy Anderson of Oklahoma City, and Naoma Lisenbee of Wewoka; five grandchildren and nine great grandchildren.
Charlene Roberson
Funeral services for longtime Seminole resident, Charlene Roberson are scheduled for 1 p.m. Monday, Sept. 15 at the Swearingen Funeral Chapel with John Brooks officiating.
Interment will follow at the Dale Cemetery under the direction of Swearingen Funeral Home, Seminole.
She died Thursday, Sept. 11, 2003, at the age of 72 from a brief illness, at Mercy Health Center in Oklahoma City.
She was born Oct. 23, 1930, to Grover Parsons and Ouida (Rose) Parsons in Tecumseh.
She was married to Dwight Roberson, who preceded her in death.
She was a homemaker and was a Seminole resident for over 40 years.
She raised five children and one grandson and will always be remembered as a loving mother, grandmother and friend to many.
She was of the Baptist faith.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 43 years; parents; two sisters; and one brother.
She is survived by her daughter, Donna Viton of Oklahoma City; her sons Melvin Roberson and wife, Glenda of Harrah, and Phillip Roberson of Oklahoma City; daughters Patricia Phillips of Ada; Jennifer Keefer and husband, Jack of Norman; eight grandchildren; three great grandsons; two sisters, Erma Lee Moore of Tecumseh and Geraldine Washburn of Shawnee; and one brother, Buck Pa, rsons, also of Tecumseh.
Pallbearers are Don Moore, Gary Washburn, Steve Pritchard, Lucky Seaton, Charles Gambrell and Tim Parsons.
Honorary pallbearers are Jack Parsons and Mike Roberson.

Bill Roberts
Funeral services for Bill O.Roberts, former employee of Acker Industries in Wewoka, are scheduled for 2 p.m. Saturday at the Freewill Baptist Church in Holdenville.

Burial will follow at the Holdenville Cemetery, under the direction of Hudson-Phillips Funeral Home of Holdenville.
Roberts died Wednesday, March 5, 2003 in Oklahoma City at the age of 76.
He was born to Edgar S. and Bessie (Martin) Roberts on Dec. 26, 1926 in Holdenville.
Roberts was raised in the Jackson community in Hughes County, and attended school in Benedict, Jackson, Holdenville, and Spaulding.
Roberts married Dottie Stringfellow on Feb. 8, 1946 in Holdenville.
She preceded him in death on Sept. 20, 1998.
Roberts worked in the oilfield for 20 years and for Acker Industries for 10 years.
He also worked as an owner-operator for Borden’s Milk Distributors for many years until his retirement.
Roberts was a member of the Oklahoma Geological Society and the Freewill Baptist Church.
Roberts was preceded in death by his wife; his parents; and one brother, Veal Roberts.
He is survived by one son, Bruce Roberts, Holdenville; four daughters, Dorothy Ann VanMeter, Holdenville, Patty Estep, Jones, Billye Lee, Holdenville, and Christie Barker, Holdenville; 10 grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be Michael Estep, Shawn Estep, Jeff Crutcher, Eddie Wayne Crutcher, Chad Crutcher, and Steven Jones.
