Services for Floyd Ray Shockley were at 2 p.m. Nov. 12, 2002 at the Prater-Lampton-Mills & Coffey Chapel in Hugo. The Rev. Stanley Pope officiated the ceremony. Internment followed at the Mt. Olivet Cemetery in Hugo. The family received friends from 7-8 p.m. Nov. 11, 2002 at the Prater-Lampton-Mills & Coffey Funeral Home in Hugo.
Floyd Shockley, of Spencerville, died Nov. 9, 2002 in Hugo. He was 59.
Floyd Shockley was born Dec. 2, 1942 in Talihina to Carvin and Kathryn (Beaty) Shockley. He married Mary Sue Cook Oct. 21, 2002 in Paris, Texas.
He served his country in the United States Army from 1961-1964. Floyd had lived in this community for the past 20 years after moving here from Buffalo Valley. He retired from Burlington Northern Railroad as a professional cutting horse trainer.
He was a member of the National Cutting Horse Association and was a member of the Pine Grove Baptist Church in Talihina.
He will truly be missed by all who knew and loved him.
Floyd was preceded in death by his grandmothers, Cora Ditzler and Alice Shockley and one nephew, Leslie Wayne Talley.
He is survived by his wife, Mary, of Spencerville; one step-son, Scott Austin of Dequeen, Ark.; three step-daughters, Lisa Williams of Antlers, Rhonda Prichard of Hobart and Debbie Harder of Lockesburg, Ark.; five sisters, Shirley Talley of Talihina, Evelyn Earwood of Austin, Texas, Ellen Hooten of Choctaw, Virginia McCoy of Powderly, Texas and Kathy James of Forney, Texas; nine step-grandchildren, Ryan, Laci, Cody, Ashli, T.J. Keaton, Amanda, Michael and Chance.

Gleades Lynn Goodwin
Funeral services for Gleades Goodwin, of Boswell, were at 2 p.m. Nov. 12 at the Life Tabernacle Church in Unger. The Rev. Bucky Ensey and the Rev. Donnie Goodwin officiated the ceremony. Internment followed at the Restland Cemetery in Boswell.
Gleades passed way Nov. 8, 2002 in Boswell. She was 72.
Gleades was born Dec. 29, 1929 in Mudsand to Murphy and Lillian (Harrington) Tonubbee. She married Homer Odell Goodwin June 21, 1947 in Quincy, Calif.
Gleades lived in this community most of her life. She was a homemaker, loving wife, mother and grandmother. She was a member of the Life Tabernacle Church in Unger and loved her Lord very much. She was a member of the Choctaw Nation of Oklahoma. She will truly be missed by all who knew and loved her.
She was preceded in death by her parents, two brothers, Jesse Tonubbee and Sammy Tonubbee and one sister, Lura Lee Foster.
Gleades is survived by her husband, Odell Goodwin, of Boswell; three sons, Mack Goodwin & wife Marti, Donnie Goodwin & wife Nancy and Jason Goodwin & wife Charlene, all of Boswell; five daughters, Patricia Ensey, Dail Allen & husband John, Melissa Cress & husband Danny, all of Boswell and Linda Goodwin, Joyce Wells & husband Brad, all of Hugo; three brothers, Marland Tonubbee of Grenville, Texas, Francis Tonubbee of Dallas and Wayne Tonubbee of Angola, La.; 22 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren.

Willie Mae Rucker
Services for Willie Mae Rucker were at 3 p.m. Sept. 21 at the Pleasant Hill Baptist Church. The Rev. Larry Alberty officiated Internment followed at Pleasant Hill Cemetery.
Willie Mae Rucker, of Grant, died Sept. 17, 2002 at her home. She was 85.
She is survived by four sons, Ollie Gene Rucker and Roy Lee Rucker of Hugo, Floyd James Rucker of Oklahoma City and Nathenial Rucker of Grant; five daughters, LaRuth Colbert and Lonnie Mae Bolden of Hugo, Ethaleen Johnson of Grant, Alma Caldwell and Thelma Reece of Oklahoma City; one sister, Wilma Blow of Hugo; and a host of grandchildren, great grandchildren, great great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

Newton Cook
Funeral services for Newton Cook, formerly of Cooksville, were at noon Sept. 21 at the Rogan Funeral Home Chapel in Hugo. The Rev. J.S. Warren officiated. Internment will follow at the Speer Cemetery.
Newton Cook died Sept. 15, 2002 in Paris, Texas. He was 80.
He is survived by his wife, Mildred Cook of Hugo; two sons, Newton Cook, Jr. of Cooksville and James Cook of Oklahoma City; five daughters, Margeret Weatherall of Des Moines, Iowa, Dorothy Henderson and Johnnie Ruth Brown of Hugo, Loretta Cooper and Darlene Cook of Oklahoma City; one sister, Rosie Marie Bostic of Oklahoma City; 14 grandchildren, 10 great grandchildren, one great great grandchild and a host of nieces and nephews.

Mable Lee (Sisco) Sturgeon
Services for Mable Lee Sturgeon were at 10 a.m. Sept. 16 at the Assembly of God in Hugo. The Rev. Raymond Humphrey officiated. Internment followed at Goodland Cemetery. The family received friends from 6-8 p.m. Tuesday at Miller & Miller Chapel in Hugo.
Mable Lee Sturgeon died Sept. 15, 2002 in Hugo. She was 82.
Mable Lee Sturgeon was born Nov. 9, 1919 in Gay to John and Rosie Sisco.
She was preceded in death by her parents, four sons and one daughter.
She is survived by three sons; Arvel Davis of Hugo, Richard Burton of Peterburg, Va. and Merle Buton of Midlothian, Texas, three daughters; Betty Nichols and Lois Lofton of Hugo and Agnes Ketcherside of Russelville, Ark., one brother; Lovel Sisco of Atlanta, Texas, and three sisters; Angie and Dorothy Davidson of Hugo and Lilly Morris of Hubbard, Texas.

Isaac Burris
Services for Isaac Burris were at 2 p.m. Sept. 16 at the Pigeon Roost Church in Boswell. Brother Leon Postoak officiated the ceremony. Internment followed at the Pigeon Roost Cemetery in Boswell.
Isaac Burris, of Nicoma Park, died Sept. 12, 2002 in Oklahoma City. He was 69.
Isaac Burris was born April 21, 1933 in Colgate to Buster and Wilma Burris. A laborer, he had lived in the Oklahoma City area most of his life. He was a member of the Central Baptist Church in Oklahoma City and served in the Korean Conflict from 1953-1955.
He was preceded in death by his parents, a brother and a sister.
He is survived by two sons; Harold and Haskell Lee Burris of Nicoma Park, two daughters; Winona Armstrong of Spencer and Sandra Kay Burris of Nicoma Park, two brothers; Buster Burris, Jr. of Chickasha and Richard Burris of Shawnee, four sisters; Joanne Cowben of Midwest City, Oleta Lafountain of Del City, Wynena Loring of Browning, Mo. and Charlene Hawkins of Wayne, nine grandchildren and numerous nieces, nephews and friends.
