Funeral services for Konawa resident Jess Russell are scheduled for 10 a.m. Friday at the Konawa Church of Christ.
Revs. Richard Winters and Carl Wills will officiate.
Interment will follow at the Vamoosa Cemetery, under the direction of Criswell Funeral Home of Ada.
Russell died Tuesday, March 11, 2003 at the age of 96.
He was born to William Russell and Frances Elizabeth (Cooper) Russell on Oct. 14, 1906 in Clarksville, Texas.
Russell attended school in Texas, and came to Seminole County in 1918.
He married Vera Elnora Atkinson on Dec. 21, 1933. She preceded him in death on July 2, 2000.
Russell was a farmer, and a school bus driver for over 40 year at Vamoosa.
He was a member of the Konawa Church of Christ and served as Elder for over 30 years.
Russell served on the Seminole County Election Board for over 59 years, and the Oklahoma Farm Bureau Board for 32 years.
Russell was also preceded in death by one daughter, Alice Higdon.
He is survived by one daughter, Linda Clayton, Konawa; one son, Jack Russell, Konawa; one half-sister, Lucille Hodges, Bethel; one half-brother, Doke Russell, Brownsville, Texas; 10 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be Bob Langley, Donnie Kiker, Gayle Hughes, Jim Lowe, Burnus Fisher, and Carl Wyatt.
Honorary bearers will be E.D. Duck, Lillard Berry, and H.O. Griffin.

Wake services for Aryn Angel Salazar, age 3, Andrea Danielle Salazar, age 3, and Melia Ann Salazar, age 2, are scheduled for 7 p.m. Wednesday at the Snake Creek Baptist Church with funeral services set for 2 p.m. Thursday, Nov 13.
Interment will follow at the Snake Creek Cemetery in Seminole under the direction of Midtown Chapel in Tulsa.
Survivors include their father, Gilberto Salazar; mother, Susan Camp; and sister, Gabriel Salazar.
The children died after an automobile accident Sunday in Shawnee.
Sally Quillin
Funeral services for long time Seminole resident, Sally Virginia Quillin, are pending with Swearingen Funeral Home.
She died at home on April 9, 2001, at the age of 62.
Sally Wolf Harjo
Funeral services for lifelong Seminole resident, Sally Wolf Harjo, are scheduled for Tuesday at 2 p.m. at the Hitchitee Church under the direction of Swearingen Funeral Home.
She died on May 2, 2003 at the age of 62 in the Seminole Medical Hospital.
She was born on October 13, 1940 in Seminole to Freeland Wolf and Eliza Camp.
She worked at the Railroad Crossing in Tulsa and at Blue Bell, now Wrangler, in Seminole.
She retired several years ago.
She was a member of Hitchite Methodist Church.
She was preceded in death by her mother, Liz Camp; her father, Freeland Wolf; two daughters, Yvetta Hulbutta and Christine Wise Talamasey; one son, Jacob W. Wise; one grandson, Johnny Joe Fixico; one sister, Joanna R. Harjo; and two brothers, Raymond J. Wolf and Johnson Wolf.
She is survived by Allen Hulbutta of the home, one daughter, Sonya Pohlemann of Tecumseh; two grandsons, Cory L. Nedd and Daniel Gazaway Wise both of Tecumseh; two granddaughters, Tiffany Wise and Michelle R. Hulbutta both of Tulsa; one son-in-law, Gary L. Pohlemann of Tecumseh; one aunt, Opal Ahaisse; two adopted daughters, Loretta Harjo of Holdenville and Pam Underwood of Seminole; one adopted son, Tim Ray Harrison of Seminole; five nephews, Alex Pete Wolf of Shawnee and Richie Harjo, James Harjo, Bear Harjo, and Steven Harrison all of Konawa; seven nieces, Mary Ann Wolf of Oklahoma City, and Jimmie Lou Harjo, Tammy Harjo, Charolette Harjo, Dino Harjo, Johnna Harrison, and Robin Harrison all of Konawa; and one sister, Susie Jones of Seminole.
Casketbearers are Tim Ray Harrison, Jimmy Harjo Jr., Jimmy Dean Harjo, Nathan Harjo, Justin Pebworth and Wesley Pebworth.
Honorary bearers are Jim Lena, Joe Haney, Sonny Turnbow, Kevin Pohlemann, Jimsey Tiger and Robby Tiger.
The body will be taken to the church Tuesday at 10 a.m. and a wake is scheduled for Monday at 6:30 p.m. at Swearingen Chapel.

Gracie Sanders
Graveside services for Gracie Murriel Sanders, the aunt of Seminole resident Ginger Edney, are scheduled for Monday at the White Dove Cemetery in Sparks.
She died on May 30, 2003, at the age of 86, in Shawnee.
She was born on October 14, 1916 in Everman, Texas to John Calvin Cockrom and Dora Missouri (Wilson) Cockrom.
She moved to Missouri when she was four years old and then moved to Sparks at the age of 12.
She then moved to Marietta in 1952 and came back to Shawnee in 1979.
She retired from the Meeker Dairy Mart after 10 years.
She was a member of the Bible Temple Church of Shawnee.
She was preceded in death by her parents, six sisters, three brothers and one son, John Henry Simmons.
Officiating will be Rev. Guy Cagle under the direction of Resthaven Funeral Home.
Sarah McAlvain
Funeral services for Sarah Louise McAlvain, mother of Seminole resident Jay McAlvain, are scheduled for 2 p.m. Monday at the Collinsville Funeral Home Chapel in Collinsville.
Rev. Richard Shade will officiate the services.
McAlvain died Friday, Feb. 21, 2003 at Claremore Regional Hospital in Claremore at the age of 87.
She was born to Jim and Carrie (Shade) Woodside on April 2, 1915 in Oologah.
She married Polk McAlvain on May 13, 1932 in Claremore.
McAlvain was a lifelong resident of Oologah, and was one of the original members of the Zion Hill Freewill Baptist Church of Oologah.
She was a past Worthy Matron of the Oologah Eastern Star, and was an avid fan of the Oologah athletic teams.
McAlvain was preceded in death by her parents; and her husband.
She is survived by three sons, Harold McAlvain, Nocona, Texas, Ed McAlvain, Wichita Falls, Texas, and Jay McAlvain, Seminole; nine grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren, and two great-great grandchildren.
Neil Satterfield
ADA – Funeral services for Neil Satterfield, the father of Seminole resident Sue Frederick, were scheduled for this morning at First Baptist Church of Ada.
Dr. Bob Bender was set to officiate.
Interment was to follow at Memorial Park Cemetery under the direction of Criswell Funeral Home of Ada.
Satterfield died Saturday, Jan. 11, 2003 at an Ada hospital at the age of 78.
He was born Nov. 5, 1924 at Howard’s Ridge, Mo. to Homer and Lucille Howard Satterfield.
He moved to Ada in January of 1958 from West Plains, Mo.
Satterfield graduated from high school in Bakersfield, Mo.
He received a business degree from Oklahoma City University at the age of 60 after he retired.
He owned and operated Neil’s Shoes from 1958 to 1997.
Satterfield owned several stores in Oklahoma and Texas.
He and his wife owned and operated the Clothes Corner in Ada for many years.
He married Juanita Price on Sept. 28, 1944. She survives him of the home.
Satterfield was a longtime active member of First Baptist Church of Ada.
He formerly served as a deacon and Sunday School superintendent.
He was past-president of the Ada Area Chamber of Commerce.
Satterfield was also a certified instructor of Dale Carnegie courses.
He served on the Board of Directors of Valley View Regional Hospital and was board secretary at the time of the construction of the present hospital building in Ada.
He was a founding member of the Ada Main Street.
Satterfield is also survived by three daughters, Shirley Wood of Roff, Sue Frederick of Seminole, and Carolyn Pasqualino of Poplar Grove, Ill.; two brothers, Wayne Satterfield of Denver, Colo. and Archie Satterfield of Chinon, France; one sister, Marie Riggs of Dallas, Texas; six grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers were grandsons and nephews.
Honorary bearers were staff members of Valley View Regional Hospital and deacons of First Baptist Church.
