Funeral services for former Seminole County graduate, Diana Faye Turner are scheduled for 10 a.m. Friday, Dec. 12 at the Evangelistic Temple in Ada with Rev. Mickey Keith officiating.
Interment will follow at Swan Hill Cemetery in Ada under the direction of Criswell Funeral Home, also of Ada.
Turner died Tuesday, Dec. 9, 2003, at the age of 51 at her home.
She was born Sept. 11, 1952, to Raymond Cornelius Choate and Jessie Faye Waters Choate.
She moved to the Wynnewood area in 2000 from Ada.
She went to grade school at New Model and graduated from Wewoka High School in 1970.
She also graduated from Seminole Junior College in May 1972.
She went on to East Central University earning her Master’s Degree.
She taught at several area schools including Bowlegs, Olive, 16 years at Vanoss and currently was the principal at Wynnewood School.
She married John Wayne Turner on Aug. 4, 1972 in Holdenville.
She was a member of the Evangelistic Temple, ATAE, CCOSA, and NAOESP.
She was preceded in death by a granddaughter, Marissa Turner.
She is survived by her husband, John Turner of the home; four sons, Mark Wayne Turner and wife Misty of Holdenville, Luke Charles Turner and wife, Michelle of Ada, Micah Ray Turner and wife Rachel also of Ada, and Joshua Dean Turner of Wynnewood; three grandsons, Morgan Turner, Jonathan Turner, and Conner Turner; two sisters, Kathy Turner and husband, Jack of Mason, Texas and Cherry Christian and husband, David of Woodstock, Ga.; two brothers, Danny Choate and wife, Margaret of Sasakwa and Mickey Choate and wife, Darlene also of Sasakwa.
Pall bearers will be Jack Martin, David Keith, Louis Daniel, Ken Nessel, Ron Bates and Bill Vandegriff.
Honorary bearers are Billy Ringwald, Ken Hancock, Jerry Elliott, Archie Faulkner and all Evangelistic Temple Elders and Deacons.
Eunice Myers Tyree
Graveside services for former Seminole County resident, Eunice Myers Tyree are scheduled for Saturday, Nov.15 at Westwood Cemetery in Wewoka under the direction of Myers Mortuary.
She will lie in state at Myers Mortuary of Wewoka Friday, Nov. 14.
She died Sunday, Nov. 9, 2003, at the age of 87 in Wichita, Kan.
She was born Aug. 26, 1916, in West Point, Clay County, Miss.
She was the sixth child born to Samuel M. and Ida Myers.
When Tyree was nine months old, her parents moved with her to Wewoka, where she attended the Wewoka Township Public School, graduating from Douglas High School in 1934 as the valedictorian of her class.
She attended Bishop College in Marshall, Texas, receiving her B.A. Degree in English in 1938.
Several years later, she received a Masters Degree in Library Science from the University of Denver in Denver, Colo.
Her first teaching position was in the Pleasant Grove Community, north of Wewoka.
In 1949, she moved to Austin Public School system as teacher-librarian at the Anderson, Lanier and East Austin High Schools.
Tyree retired from the Austin Public School System in 1978.
In 1978, she married Ceasus E. Tyree of Wichita, Kans.
She was a loyal member of the Ebenezer Baptist Church in Austin, Texas where she was a member of the senior choir.
She was also a member of the Delta Sigma Theta Sorority.
After moving to Wichita, Kan. to be wity Tyree, she attended the St. Mark’s United Methodist Church where her husband is a faithful member.
The couple enjoyed traveling during their short retirement years together.
She is survived by her husband, Ceasus E. Tyree; two sisters, Beatrice Scott Banks of Denver, Colo and Mildred I. Carlton of McDonough, Ga.; and one brother, Lennell O. Myers of San Diego, Calif.
Richard Ulery
Graveside services for former Seminole County resident, Richard Ulery, are scheduled for May 12 at 11 a.m. at the Wolf Cemetery in Wolf.
Ulery died May 7, 2003, at the age of 62, at the Select Specialty Hospital in Tulsa.
He was born on October 22, 1940.
He lived in Konawa for several years before moving to Haskell.
Services will be under the direction of Pickard-Swearingen Funeral Home of Konawa..
Sherry Uptegraft
Graveside memorial services for longtime Seminole County resident, Sherry K. Uptegraft are scheduled for 9 a.m. Thursday, Sept. 11 at the Oakwood Cemetery in Wewoka with Chris Stinnett officiating.
Services will be under the direction of Swearingen Funeral Home, Seminole.
She died March 29, 2003, at the age of 56 at Shawnee Care Center.
She was born May 1, 1947, in Wewoka to Clarence Dyer and Helen (Rutherford) Dyer.
She managed Kentucky Fried Chicken in Seminole at one time.
She was a longtime Wewoka and Seminole resident until she was moved to Shawnee Care Center where she passed away.
Holland ‘Holly’ Perry Vance

Holland "Holly" Perry Vance, age 48, of Wewoka, Oklahoma, passed over to be with our Lord Jesus on August 7, 2003. He was born
May 10, 1955, to Lloyd and Joan (Baker) Vance in San Pablo, California. He married his wife, Carol Jo (Brown) Vance, on May 27, 2000, in Seminole.
He was raised in Non and graduated from Calvin schools. Holly was an ordained minister. He was well known for his sense of humor, his love of music, and enjoyed hunting, fishing, swimming, and driving the dirt roads. He was employed by Saber Drilling as an oil field driller.
He is survived by his father Lloyd Vance, of Holdenville; his wife, Carol Jo, of the home; his children, Laura Jo Reyna, Seminole, Edith Vance Cathey, Bowlegs, Holly Bea Vance Guess, LaGrange, NC, Henry Vance, Bowlegs, William Brown, Seminole, Cassie Brown, Orie Hill, Samuel Campbell, and Joy Campbell, all of the home. Also, his sisters, Kathy Vance, Wewoka, Sevilla Vance, Poteau, and Letha Vance, Pauls Valley, and his brother, Kevin Lee Vance, Holdenville, and 7 grandchildren.
His mother preceded him in death in December of 1990.

Vernon Cloud
Funeral services for Vernon Lee Cloud, Seminole County resident, will be 1:30 P.M., Wednesday at Sand Creek Eufaula Baptist Church,
He will be moved to the church at 4:00 p.m. Tuesday for an all-night wake which will commence at 7:30p.m.
Cloud died Sunday, June 15, 2003, at the age of 72, in the Pioneer Nursing Home in Seminole, following a lengthy illness.
He was born in Wewoka, Oklahoma, on August 22, 1930, to Daniel Cloud and Helen Larney Tiger Cloud, and grew up in the Seminole County area.
He was baptized in 1947.
He attended Ong School, and worked as a welder until his first retirement; then he became a "Green Thumb" employee of the Seminole Nation Museum and worked there until his illness in 1999.
He married Judy Tiger on his birthday in 1952, in Wewoka, and they made their home in Seminole County.
He was a member of the Seminole Nation Tallahassee Band who strongly upheld the native traditions and enjoyed woodcarving flutes during his retirement years.
He is survived by his children:
Leo Cloud, Cleo Cloud, Stanley Cloud, Winifred Cloud and Christopher Cloud, all of Oklahoma City, Ted Cloud of Phoenix, Ariz., Joseph Cloud, Tammy Cloud and Nona Johnson all of Wewoka, Patti Gibson of Ada, and Lucy Caranza and Pam Paredes of Dallas; his brothers and sisters, Henry Coker of Okmulgee Geraldine Cloud of Konawa, Harry Tiger and Maxine Overbey of Ada, Evelyn Coursey of Wewoka, Barney Cloud and Betsy Bender of Del City Holland Cloud of Ark City, Kan.; and a host of other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, one brother, David Cloud and two grandchildren, Kyle and Brandi Alexander.
Pallbearers will be: Roy Carbitcher, Barney Cloud, Henry Coker, Lewis Johnson, Francis Miller and Bennie Tiger. Honorary pallbearers are John Bowlegs, Chris Cloud, Leo Hulbutta, Greg Tiger, Jimmie Tiger and Beacer Ward.
Reverends Houston Tiger, Webster Fixico and Sandy Harjo will be officiating.
Interment will be in the Tiger Family Cemetery under the direction of Stout-Phillips Funeral Home.
