Funeral services for longtime Seminole resident, Ricky Vaughn Warden are scheduled for 2 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 9 at the Swearingen Funeral Chapel with Denise Arbuckle officiating.
Wake services will be held Monday, Dec. 8 at 6 p.m. at Swearingen Funeral Chapel.
Interment will follow at Vamoosa Cemetery under the direction of Swearingen Funeral Home of Seminole.
Warden died Friday, Dec. 5, 2003, at the age of 38 at Integris Health Center in Oklahoma City.
He was born Nov. 27, 1965 in Seminole to Robert Carl Warden and Jeanette (Joseph) Factor.
He worked for the City of Norman maintenance department.
He was preceded in death by both sets of grandparents and three uncles.
Survivors include his parents, Jeanette (Joseph) Factor and Robert Carl Warden; five sons Merrick Vaughn Warden, Joshaua Warden, Jerron Warden, Chebon Warden and Harlon Warden, as well as one daughter, Deleana Warden, all of Clinton.
He is also survived by three brothers, Ronald Russell Warden of Wichita, Kan., Michael Warden of Oklahoma City, Gary Dawn Warden, Donald Ray Factor of Enid and one sister, Stacy Bequer of Fayetteville, N.C.
James Warn
Memorial services for James Edward Warn, brother of Seminole resident Deborah Stacy, are scheduled for 10 a.m. Wednesday at the Cathedral of the Hills Church in Edmond.
Graveside services will be held at 2:30 p.m. at the Highland Cemetery in Okemah, under the direction of Matthews Funeral Home of Edmond.
Warn died on Saturday, March 1, 2003 at his home in Edmond, at the age of 60.
He was born to Rev. Jodie and Gladys Warn on May 8, 1942 in Okemah.
Warn graduated from Oklahoma State University in 1964 with a Bachelor of Science in chemical engineering.
Following one year of employment with Monsanto Corporation in Alvin, Texas, he was employed by the Conoco Refining Corporation and spent two years at the refineries located in Ponca City, and lake Charles, La.
In 1969, he joined Kerr McGee Refining Corporation at the Wynnewood Refinery as Senior Process Engineer.
During his 26-year career with Kerr-McGee, he held positions of Senior Project Manager and Refinery Manager at the Wynnewood Refinery, Director of planning, and Vice President of Refining at the Oklahoma City corporate office.
He went on to become Executive Vice-President/Chief Operating Officer of the Kerr McGee Refining Corporation in Houston, Texas.
Additionally, he served on the Board of Directors of Halterman, Inc.
In 1995, after assisting with the sale of Kerr McGee Corporation’s Refining Division, he was employed as Chief operating Officer of Greene and Associates, Inc., in Dallas. He retired in 1999.
Warn was a 30-year member of the National Petroleum Refiners Association, holding a position on the Manufacturing Committee, and a member of the American Institute of Chemical Engineers.
He was also a charter member of Leadership of Oklahoma, and owner of Warn True Value Hardware in Okemah.
Warn was a member of the Cathedral of the Hills in Edmond where he served as Deacon.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Warn is survived by his wife, Sharon, of the home; three sons, Darren Warn, Edmond, Craig Warn, Edmond, and Brett Warn, Lawton; one brother, Lance Warn, Okemah; and three sisters, Deborah Stacy, Seminole, Theresa Beasley, Branson, Mo., and Kathy Wilbourn, Wewoka.
Mary L. Ward
Graveside services for former Seminole resident Mary L. Ward are scheduled for 2 p.m. Thursday, July 10 at Little Cemetery.
She died July 7, 2003, at the age of 75 at Medical City Dallas Hospital.
She was born May 25, 1928, in Seminole to John Leo Wood and Ocie P. (Sharks) Wood.
She was the office manager for Fowlers Ethan Allen in Richardson, Texas.
She belonged to the Church of Christ.
She is survived by her spouse, Curtis Ward of the home; two sons, Warren Ward of Richardson, Texas and Roger Ward of West Palm Beach, Fla.; one daughter, Melinda Adwon of Tulsa; one brother, Floyd Dale Wood of Midland, Texas; and three grandchildren.
Rusty Dawson will be officiating the services.
Services will be under the direction of Swearingen Funeral Home, Seminole.
Willie Washington
Graveside services for Wewoka resident Willie Washington are scheduled for 11 a.m. Saturday at the Lima Cemetery in Lima.
Rev. Walker of the Highway Church of God in Christ will officiate.
Services will be under the direction of Myers Mortuary of Wewoka.
Washington died Friday, Dec. 12, 2003 in Oklahoma City at the age of 83.
He was born to John Wesley and Alvelonia Washington on Dec. 16, 1919 in Seminole County.
Washington lived most of his life the Seminole County.
He joined the U. S. Army on Dec. 30, 1942, and was released with an Honorable Discharge on Jan. 10, 1946 at Camp Chaffee, Ark.
Washington was preceded in death by his parents; four brothers, James, Percy, Ora and David; and four sisters, Corine, Rose, May and Orlie.
He is survived by one son, John Washington, Oklahoma City; one daughter, Sherry L.Washington, Oklahoma City; one brother, King S. Washington, Sacramento, Calif.; two sisters, Jessie Hunt, Stockton, Calif., and Bertha Simpson, Wewoka; and four grandchildren.
Clinton Watashe
Funeral services for Seminole County resident, Clinton Dewayne Watashe are pending with the Stout-Phillips Funeral Home in Wewoka.
He died Friday, Sept. 26, 2003, at the age of 27 in Hughes County.
Gary Watson
Funeral services for Seminole resident, Dr. Gary Watson are scheduled for 10 a.m. Friday, Nov. 19 at the Gaskill Funeral Chapel in Shawnee with Dwyane Dennis officiating.
Interment will follow at Resthaven Memorial Park under the direction of Gaskill Funeral Home in Shawnee.
Watson died Tuesday, Nov. 18, 2003, at the age of 47 due to a car accident.
He was born Jan. 5, 1956, in Shawnee to Glenn V. and Lorine Watson.
He was a Shawnee High School graduate as well as a graduate from UCO and Texas Chiropractic College in Houston, Texas.
He was a practicing chiropractor in Shawnee for over 25 yers.
He was married to Sherri Lea Williams on June 25, 1994 in Las Vegas, Nev.
He was a member of the American Chiropractor Association, Chamber, Rotary, NCHA, AQHA, RHA, BCA, Kiwanis and Central Church of Christ.
He was a horse and dog trainer, which was his true love.
He was a loving son, husband, father, stepfather, grandfather and friend.
He was preceded in death by his father-in-law, Joe Williams.
He is survived by his wife, Sherri Watson of the home; daughter Jessica and husband Kon Khandros; one son, Ryan Watson of Shawnee; stepsons Bradon and Brandon Blackburn of the home; granddaughter, Paris Khandros; parents, Glenn and Lorine Watson of Shawnee; mother-in-law, Eva Williams of Cyril; and numerous friends and relatives.
A fund will be set up at First National Bank and all proceeds will be donated to various organizations.
Almeter (O’Guinn) Watts
Funeral services for Wewoka resident Almeter (O’Guinn) Watts are scheduled for 11 a.m. Monday at Macedonia Baptist Church.
Rev. Clayborne Johnson of Greater Pilgrim Rest Baptist Church is set to officiate.
Burial is to follow at Westwood Cemetery under the direction of Myers Mortuary.
Watts died Tuesday, Dec. 31, 2002 at Select Specialty Hospital in Oklahoma City at the age of 80.
She was born Aug. 15, 1922 in Wewoka to John O’Guinn and Anna Ruby Brown.
She was self-employed as a beautician for 55 years in Wewoka.
Watts was a member of Greater Pilgrim Rest Baptist Church.
She was preceded in death by her parents and three brothers, Alphonso, Elwood, and Olean O’Guinn.
She is survived by one son, Vincent Keith Watts of Wewoka; three brothers, Ulysses O’Guinn and Harold O’Guinn, both of Wewoka, and Delbert O’Guinn of Oklahoma City; and one sister, Dovie Walker of Toledo, Ohio.
Michael Weger
Funeral services for Seminole County resident, Michael L. Weger will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Wednesday, Oct. 15 in the Stout-Phillips Funeral Home Chapel, in Wewoka with Rev. Dan Factor, officiating.
Interment will be in Oakwood Cemetery in Wewoka.
Weger passed away Sunday, October 12, 2003, at the age of 44.
Michael was born Sept. 18, 1959, to Ishmael Leon and Florene Weger.
He attended Wewoka schools and was employed by Ackerman Drilling, Konawa, and Mahoney Electric in Wewoka.
He is preceded in death by his father and his brother, Danny Ray Weger.
He is survived by his children, Jesse Weger of Valiant; Jason Weger of Oklahoma City, Micah Weger, Johnny Weger and Jeremy Weger all of Wewoka; one grandchild; his mother, Florene Weger of Wewoka; one brother, Larry Weger of Sasakwa; four sisters, Sharon Bryant of Wewoka, Cathy Sipes and Pam Calvert of Holdenville, and Janie Pierce of Allen.
Lula Merle Weir
Graveside funeral services for Seminole area resident Lula Merle Weir are scheduled for 2 p.m. Thursday at Neal Cemetery, Prague.
Charles A. Hunt, chaplain of Palliative Hospice Center, will officiate. Burial will be under the direction of Parks Brothers Funeral Home.
Weir died Tuesday in Holdenville at the age of 89.
She was born Aug. 1, 1913, in Prue to Robert Carl and Nettie Mae (Severn) Pattison.
She was a homemaker and married Teddie W. Weir on Feb. 2, 1960.
He preceded her in death in 1977; she was also preceded in death by her parents, three brothers and five sisters.
Survivors include nieces and nephews Augusta Dickerson, Nadine Mulinex, Bob Thompson, Clariece Burns, Clifford Pattison, Butch Pattison and Teresa Browning.
