Funeral services for Seminole resident, Bonnie Jean Adkisson are scheduled for 2 p.m. Monday, Jan. 5th, at First Baptist Church in Seminole, with Rev. Bob Hammons officiating.
Services will be under the direction of Primrose Funeral Home of Norman.
Interment will follow the service at Sunset Memorial Cemetery in Norman.
Adkisson died Friday, Jan. 2nd at Presbyterian Hospital in Oklahoma City.
She was born March 7, 1931 in Moorewood, Oklahoma, the daughter of Fannie Mae (Rice) Moseley and Nathaniel Carnes Moseley.
She married Samuel Estel Adkisson in 1950 and resided in Norman for 35 years.
They relocated to Seminole in 1985.
She was preceded in death by her husband; mother; father; one brother, John Clyde Moseley; one sister, Francis Moseley McDaniel; two grandsons, Bradley Edward Adkisson and Nathaniel Chase Adkisson.
She is survived by her daughter, Donna Burks of Norman; her son Sam Adkisson of Seminole; three grandchildren, Shawn Adkisson of Seminole, Samuel Adam Adkisson of Edmond, and Leisha Buol of Norman; two great-grandchildren, Bradleigh and Braden Buol of Norman; two brothers, Leroy Moseley of Leedey and N.C. Moseley of Kansas City, Mo.; as well as many nieces, and nephews.
Jenni Lynn Akins
Private family services are planned for longtime Seminole resident Jenni Lynn Akins, 52, who died Friday, Nov. 12, 2004 at her home.
Akins was born March 6, 1952 in Louisville, Ky. to William Harold and Agatha Daphne (Smith) Highsmith.
She married Donald A. "Don" Akins Aug. 1, 1974 in Gainesville, Texas. She was a heat and air technician and a truck driver until 1984, when she was disabled. Akins was a of the Mormon faith in Seminole.
Her mother and grandmother preceded her in death.
She is survived by her father of Louisville, Ky.; her husband of the home; son, Arlin of Seminole; step-daughter, Kimberly Robertson of Henryetta; brother, Bobby "Shawn" Peterson of Missouri; two sisters, Deborah Gail Rose of Oklahoma City and Limberly Ann Highsmith of Louisville, Ky.; and two grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to a favorite charity.
Frankie Jo Alderson
Mass services for longtime Maud resident Frankie Jo (LeClaire) Alderson are scheduled for 10 a.m. Monday at Sacred Heart Catholic Church with Father Matthew Brown, O.S.B. officiating.
A rosary will be held 7 p.m. Sunday at Pickard-Swearingen Funeral Chapel.
Interment is to follow services at Sacred Heart Cemetery under the direction of Pickard-Swearingen Funeral Home.
Alderson, 51, died Wednesday, Dec. 22, 2004 at Carl Albert Indian Hospital in Ada. She was born April 20, 1953 in Oklahoma City to Franklin LeClaire and Virginia (Hughes) Plumbley.
She married Leonard Alderson on Dec. 1, 1970 in Paris, Texas and was a homemaker, of the Catholic faith and a member of the Citizen’s Potawatomi Nation.
A sister, Shelimane Blaine, preceded her in death.
Her survivors include her parents of Oklahoma City; her husband of the home; son Travis Alderson of Seminole; daughter Summer Alderson of Shawnee; four brothers, Wichita, Reggie, Sterling and Fletcher Blaine, all of Oklahoma City; sister Kelley (Blaine) of Oklahoma City and two grandsons.
Robert Eugene Aldridge
Funeral Services for Seminole County resident Robert Eugene Aldridge are scheduled for 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at Stout-Phillips Chapel in Wewoka.
Interment will be at Resthaven Cemetery in Seminole. Services are under the direction of Stout-Phillips Funeral Home.
Aldridge died on Saturday, Dec. 11, 2004, at the age of 74.
He was born June 9, 1930, to Robert E. and Florence (Harris) Aldridge in Ogden, Utah.
Aldridge attended Wewoka schools.
His parents preceded him in death.
Survivors include a number of other relatives and friends at Oakridge Nursing Home.
Henry Alexander
Funeral services for Seminole County native, Henry Luther Alexander, of Oklahoma City are scheduled for 11 a.m. Thursday, April 8 at the Macedonia Baptist Church with Rev. A. Glen Woodberry, of the Greater Mt. Olive Baptist Church in Oklahoma City officiating.
Interment will follow at Westwood Cemetery of Wewoka under the direction of Myers Mortuary of Wewoka.
Alexander died April 2, 2004, at the age of 41 in a motorcycle/car accident in Oklahoma City.
He was born Feb. 20, 1963, in Wewoka as the seventh child to L.B Sr. and Gertie B. Alexander.
As a child, he attended New Hope Baptist Church in Wetumka.
He received his education in the Wewoka School System and lettered in basketball, football and track, graduating in 1981.
He attended El Reno Junior College where he earned an associate degree in business communications and played basketball, where he earned the nickname, "Luke."
Alexander continued to pursue his education at Concordia Lutheran College in Austin, Texas.
He became a member of the Greater Mt. Olive Baptist Church in Oklahoma City, as well as a member of the men’s basketball league.
He worked for Fred Jones as an automobile assembly lineman for five years and was employed with Dayton Tire as an automobile quality technician.
He enjoyed sports and riding motorcycles as his hobbies.
His grandparents and one brother, Decovan, preceded him in death.
He is survived by his parents, L.B. and Gertie Alexander Sr., of Wewoka; three brothers, Saunders Alroy Alexander and L.B. Alexander Jr., both of Wewoka and Ivy Alexander of Tulsa; and three sisters, Vernonia "Pat" Kline of Washington, D.C., Rita Colbert of Edmond and Sametria Stevenson of Oklahoma City.
Naoma Alexander
Funeral services for Naoma Hampton (Jordan) Alexander are scheduled for 3 p.m. Thursday, April 8 at the St. Louis First Baptist Church with Glen Williams and Rev. Wayne Taylor officiating.
Interment will follow at the Collins Cemetery in St. Louis under the direction of the Knight-Swearingen Funeral Home of Maud.
Alexander died Monday, April 5, 2004, at the age of 84 at Shawnee Unity North in Shawnee.
She was born Oct. 4, 1919, in St. Louis to Fain Dexter Jordan and Altha (Patrick) Jordan.
She married James "Speck" Hampton on Sept. 23, 1939, in Sulphur.
She was a homemaker and a member of St. Mark’s Methodist Church in Maud.
She lived most of her life in St. Louis and was a Pottawatomie resident for 84 years.
She was preceded in death by her husband, James Hampton in September 1979; two brothers, Ray Jordan and William P. "Big Bill" Jordan; and several other family members.
She is survived by one brother, Raymond Eston Jordan of Hugo; two sisters, Dorothy Williams of Maud and Edith Splawn of St. Louis; and other family and friends.
Casket bearers will be nephews and great nephews.
Lillian Louise Alford
Funeral services for Lillian Louise Alford will be held at 2 p.m. on Monday at the Hudson-Phillips Chapel in Holdenville with Rev. Don Reed officiating.
Alford, 84, died Aug. 6, 2004 and she was born Sept. 9, 1919 to Henry David and Netta "Bell" Woodruff in Locust Grove.
She was raised in Hannah and married John Walter Langwell, who preceded her in death, on March 27, 1979.
Alford lived in the Calvin area for a while and later moved to Holdenville in 1957. Later in life she married Herbert Alford.
She has worked as a welder in a Calif. shipyard during World War II. She has also worked at Boyce Manor Nursing Home as a nurse’s aide for many years, and as a private duty nurse in Oklahoma City. Alford was a member of the Living Christ Church Inc. of Greenville, Texas.
Her husband Herbert Alford precedes her in death.
Survivors include her three children, Sandra and husband Tommy Kirkland of Blanchard, Larry and his wife Lu Langwell of Holdenville, David and his wife Diana Langwell of Wewoka; 13 grandchildren; 16 great- grandchildren; and one great great grandchild.
Pallbearers for the services will be Cecil Cox, Roger Woodruff, Ronnie Woodruff, Jake Woodruff, Gary Woodruff, and Bo Woodruff. Honorary pallbearers will be Lenval Woodruff, and William Henry Cox.
Interment will follow at Hannah Cemetery in Hannah under the direction of Hudson-Phillips Funeral Home.
Judy Allison
Ayako "Judy" Allison, 73, Wewoka, passed away at Unity North Hospital in Shawee on Tuesday, July 6, 2004.
She was born on March 5, 1931, to Hisajitakanashi and Kiku Takanhashi in Utsunomiya City, Japan.
She married Sam Allison in March of 1952. They have been married for 52 years.
They had three children, Jim and Donnie Allison and Judith Maye.
She was a homemaker all her married life.
Services are scheduled for 1 p.m. Friday, July 9, at Stout-Phillips Funeral Chapel.
Rev. Henry Siems will officiate. Burial will follow in Oakwood Cemetery under the direction of Stout-Phillips Funeral Home.
She was preceded in death by her parents; mother- and father-in-law, Frank and Dewey Allison Sr., and her brother-in-law, Frank Allison Jr.
Survivors include her husband, of the home; three children and their spouses, Jim and Darlene Allison, Wewoka, Donnie and Leslie Allison, Leawood, Kan., and Judith and Jerome Maye of Moore; grandchildren, Ronnie Allison and his wife Misty of Wewoka, Ron Harris of Moore, Clark and Cole Allison, both of Leawood; two great-grandchildren, Bradley Stockstill and Mackenzie Allison, both of Wewoka; a special brother- and sister-in-law, Carl and MayAnn Braden; nieces, Carla Ann Cormack and husband Guy; nephew, Gearld Duarne Braden and wife Schrie; great nieces, Kelly and Kristy Cormack, Ashley, Allison and Autumn Braden; and other family members and loved ones.
Pallbearers will include Ray Sheffield, Tony Sheffield, Gearld Duane Braden, Guy Cormack, Kenneth Johnson and John Smart.
