Graveside services for infant child of former Seminole residents, Alannah Faye Brown are scheduled for 2 p.m. Saturday, March 20 at the Little Cemetery, north of Seminole.
Services are under the direction of the Swearingen Funeral Home of Seminole.
She was born and died on Tuesday, March 16, 2004, to Jeannie Michelle (Dockery) McNeill and Corry Ray Brown, at the Renaissance Women’s Center in Midwest City.
She is survived by her parents of the home; one sister, Breonna McNeill, all of Paden; grandparents, Johnny and Sherry Brown of Shawnee, Jean Dockery of Wewoka and Gerald Dockery of Wewoka; and great grandparents, Roy and Shirley Cox of Seminole.
Clara Brown
Funeral services for lifelong Seminole resident, Clara Rae Brown, are scheduled for 2 p.m. Wednesday, June 16, 2004, at the Swearingen Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Doyle Long officiating.
Interment will follow at the Little Cemetery under the direction of Swearingen Funeral Home of Seminole.
Brown died Sunday, June 13, 2004, at the age of 73 at Seminole Medical Center.
She was born May 19, 1931, in Seminole to Ollen Hyatt and Marie (Boruff) Hyatt.
She married Willie Henry Brown on April 18, 1951, in Seminole.
He preceded her in death on March 1, 1999.
She was a homemaker and a member of the First Assembly of God Church, Smiling Seniors.
She was a dedicated wife and mother.
It is known that she once changed a diaper, while driving across a bridge, with her baby in the backseat; and this was long before pampers.
There wasn’t anything this woman couldn’t do, she was resourceful.
A friend said, "She could whip up a meal on a nickel."
She was a wonderful mom and is still called mom by many of her children’s friends.
One person said, "She was a mother to everyone."
She was a loving grandmother.
One of her grandsons said, "She is the one I have always respected, looked up to and honored as a true example of a real woman."
If you knew her, you were very fortunate, and if not, this is your loss, what a precious treasure.
She will be greatly missed, always loved and the memories of her life will grow more fragrant with each passing day.
Thank you for the life you lived and the gift you gave so many.
May you rest in peace "Miss Lady Bug, " you deserve it.
See you in eternity.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Willie Henry Brown on March 1, 1999 and one daughter, Judith Romano on March 27, 1995.
She is survived by one son, Billy Brown of Seminole; two daughters and sons-in-law, Deborah and Max Fairchild of Edmond and Cheryle and John Janes of Holdenville; eight grandchildren, Sean Moslander, Aleschia Ritter, Jesse Fairchild, Jerry Fairchild, Nick Janes, Megan Janes, Zack Romano and Jon Romano; and eight great grandchildren, Kaleb, Kaden, Abigail, Peighton, Joshua, Camdyn, Seth and Morgan.
Casket bearers will be Sean Moslander, Jesse Fairchild, Jerry Fairchild, Nick Janes, Zack Romano, Jon Romano, Max Fairchild and John Janes.
Eugene Brown Sr.
Funeral services for Eugene Roy Brown, Sr., 63, are scheduled for 11 a.m. Saturday at Macedonia Baptist Church.
Rev. E.G. Bert of St. Stephens Baptist Church will officiate. Burial will follow in Westwood Cemetery under the direction of Myers Mortuary.
Brown died Sunday in Lansing, Kans.
He was born Sept. 29, 1940, in Wewoka to James Clyde and Kathryn Ponder Brown.
He attended Douglas Grade School and graduated from Douglas High School in 1958.
He was a member of St. Stephens Baptist Church until he married and moved away.
He worked as a quality assurance specialist for the FAA in Oklahoma City.
He’d also been employed at Tinker Air Force Base, working a total of 21 years with the federal government.
He was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers, Donald G. Brown Sr. and James Clyde Brown Jr.
He is survived by his wife, Ethel Brown, of their home in Leavenworth, Kans.
Other survivors include five sons, David, Gene Jr., and James, all of Oklahoma City, Michael of Guthrie, and James of Irving, Texas; and four daughters, Rhonda Sofola Brown, Beaumond, Texas, Dedra Edwards and Lquiita Brown, Oklahoma City, and Angela Rhymer, Baltimore, Md.
Brown is also survived by two brothers, Henry B. Brown of Wichita, Kans., and Rudy Brown of Oklahoma City; and 17 grandchildren.
Eunice Aline Brown
Services for Seminole resident Eunice Aline Brown are scheduled for 10 a.m. Friday at the Swearingen Funeral Chapel, Chaplain Cathy Manuel officiating.
Interment is scheduled to be at Arlington Memory Garden in Midwest City.
Swearingen Funeral Home is handling arrangements.
Brown died Wednesday, Oct. 27, 2004, at Pioneer Nursing Home. She was 89.
Brown was born Feb. 21, 1915, in Biloxi, Miss., to Samuel E. Mardis and Lillie (Sanford) Mardis. She moved to Seminole from Mustang in 1996.
She was married to Frank Everett Brown who preceded her in death Dec. 23, 1972.
Brown was a retired welder and a member of First Christian Church.
Brown was also preceded in death by two sisters, Syble Robinson and Bessie Moore.
Johnny Lee Brown
Funeral services for former Seminole County resident Johnny Lee Brown, 22, are scheduled for 10:30 a.m. Saturday at Swearingen Funeral Home.
Rev. Tim Emmons will officiate. Burial will follow in Little Cemetery.
Brown died Sept. 7, 2004, at St. Francis Hospital, Tulsa.
He was born Jan. 25, 1982, in Shawnee to Phillip Brown and Modean Campbell.
He attended Strother Public Schools until eighth grade, moving at age 12 to Shawnee, where he graduated from Bethel High School in 2001.
While in school, he was active in the FFA.
Brown was home on leave from the U.S. Army’s First Armored, 137th Alpha Company, stationed in Freebird, Germany.
He was a specialist E-4.
Survivors include his mother, Modean Campbell of Shawnee; his father and stepmother, Phillip and Linda Brown of Prague; one sister, Wanda Comstock, Shawnee; and his grandmother, Joyce Brown of Seminole.
Pallbearers will include T.J. Roberson, Matthew Causey, Bo Cannon, David Guderian, David Casto, Greg Smith, Sam Myclintoc and Chris Campbell.
Honorary casketbearers are Zaniel Doyle, Chris Giels and Aaron Dickson.
Elsie Browning
Graveside funeral services for Elsie Browning, mother of a Seminole County resident, are to be held 2 p.m. Monday, April 12 at the Holdenville Cemetery with Rev. Jim McNab officiating.
Services are under the direction of Hudson-Phillips Funeral Home.
Browning died Friday, April 9, 2004 at the age of 92 in Holdenville General Hospital
She was born April 13, 1911, in Francis to Jack and Beatrice Heatley
She moved to Holdenville with her family as a child.
She married late husband, Jim Browning, on December 18, 1929.
Browning held various jobs in Holdenville where she worked at Central School Cafeteria, Buxton Drug Store, Cattleman’s Café, P & S Clinic, and Seamproof.
She and her late husband also managed the local airport, where they worked and lived for thirty-one years.
Surviving her is one sister, Lillie Hayes of Holdenville; three daughters, Barbara McFarland-Pelts of Enid, Ann Pattison of Sasakwa and Jean Morrison of Kiser, Oregon; eight grandchildren; twenty-five great grandchildren, two great-great grandchildren, and other family and friends.
Browning was preceded in death by her parents; her husband of fifty-three years, Jim Browning; sons, Jimmy Jack Browning and Ronnie Browning; her sisters, Edith Meshew, Gladys Meshew and Pearl Hughey; two brothers, Earl Heatley, and Oris Heatley; and one granddaughter, Lisa Morrison.
Fred Bruner
Funeral services for Holdenville resident Fred Bruner, uncle to Seminole County residents, are set for 1:30 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 30, at the Middle Creek #1 Church in Lamar, under the direction of Hudson-Phillips Funeral Home of Holdenville.
Rev. Fred Lindsey and Rev. Johnson Roberts are set to officiate, and burial will follow at the Bruner Cemetery in Lamar.
Wake services are set for Wednesday evening.
Bruner passed away Monday, Sept. 27, 2004, in Okemah, at the age of 66.
He was born in Lamar on Feb. 17, 1938, to Sunday and Bessie "Lietka" Bruner.
Bruner was raised in the Lamar area and attended school in Lamar and Moss.
He moved to Holdenville in 1984 and worked as an upholsterer for many years, owning Holdenville Upholstery since 1984.
Bruner was a member of Middle Creek #1 Church in Lamar for many years.
He is survived by his wife, Wynema Bruner, of the home; daughter, Marian Larney, Lamar; brother, Joe Wallace Bruner, Lamar; step-children; step-grandchildren; four grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
Pallbearers are Doug Bruner, Joe Bruner Jr., Keith Larney, Brian Larney, Myron Sekayouma, and Yotin Keawphalouk.
