Funeral services for longtime Seminole County resident, Bertie Mae Clark, of Konawa, are scheduled for 2 p.m. Saturday, June 5 at the Church of Christ in Konawa with Richard Winters officiating.
Interment will follow at the Vamoosa Cemetery under the direction of the Pickard-Swearingen Funeral Home of Konawa.
Clark died Thursday, June 3, at the age of 84 in Konawa.
She was born May 22, 1920, in Vian to William Bolin and Sadie Ross (McCoy) Bolin.
She was married to George William "Bill" Clark on March 29, 1941, in McCurtain.
She was a longtime Konawa resident, having moved from Marble City.
She worked for several years at Konawa Public Schools as a custodian and also worked at Blue Bell in Seminole as a seamstress.
She was a member of the Church of Christ in Konawa.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, George Clark on Oct. 4, 1989; one son, David Clark on Feb. 26, 1997; and one grandson, Phillip Scott Clark on June 16, 1997.
She is survived by three sons, George Clark Jr. and Herman Clark, both of Konawa and Ernest Clark of Nashville, Tenn.; three daughters, Shirley Boren and Juanita Moore, both of Konawa and Sadie Villines of Wolf; two brothers, Mitchell Bolin of Marble City and Richard Bolin of Fort Smith, Ark., 17 grand children and 17 great grandchildren.
Serving as casket bearers will be Bobby Villines, Nathan Villines, Justin Villines, Steve Clark, Lucas Clark, Adam Clark, Bryce Clark, Craig Klima, Brent Daniel, Jeramy Welch and Eric Bowman.
Edith (Hack) Clark
Funeral services for longtime Seminole County resident, Edith Florence (Hack) Clark are scheduled for 2 p.m. Friday, Jan. 23 at the Swearingen Funeral Home Chapel with Dr. Kelvin Mosely and Noland Sluder officiating.
Interment will follow at Maple Grove Cemetery under the direction of Swearingen Funeral Home of Seminole.
Clark died Tuesday, Jan. 20, 2004, at the age of 81 at Unity Health Center North in Shawnee.
She was born Feb. 26, 1922, in Tonkawa to Charles T. Hack and Martha E. (Taylor) Hack.
She married Billie G. Clark in 1970 in Duncan.
She was a longtime Seminole resident, moving to Oklahoma City in 1971 and to Shawnee in 1998.
She retired from Western Union in Oklahoma City in 1985 and was a homemaker.
She was also a member of the Temple Baptist Church in Oklahoma City and was currently attending the Trinity Baptist Church in Shawnee.
She was preceded in death by her parents.; one sister, Phyllis Loraine McMichael; and one brother, Clyde Hack.
She is survived by her husband, Billie G. Clark of the home; one brother, Louis Hack of Seminole; and one sister, Mildred Sluder of Tyler, Texas.
Casket bearers will be Gerald McMichael, Jackie McMichael, Scott Plockett, Rick Plockett, Bill Phinex, Randy Pool and Ryan Pool.
Selma Clark
Graveside funeral services for longtime Seminole County resident, Selma Louise Robinson Clark, of Wewoka are scheduled for 11 a.m.., Thursday, April 8 at Oakwood Cemetery in Wewoka with Rev. Dan Factor officiating, under the direction of the Stout-Phillips Funeral Home of Wewoka.
Clark died Monday, April 5, 2004, at the age of 90 at Elmwood Nursing Home, Wewoka.
She was born April 10, 1913, to Sam and Lola Robinson in Spaulding where she grew up and attended school.
She married Elmer Roe Clark on Sept. 6, 1930, in Hughes County and they made their home and reared their children in Wewoka.
Clark was a homemaker and an active member of 7th Street Baptist Church, Wewoka.
She moved to Wewoka in 1948.
She loved sewing and cooking.
Clark was the last survivor of her 15 brother and sisters
She was devoted to her family and church, and will be remembered in our community as a gentleperson who genuinely cared for those around her.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Sam and Lola Robinson; her husband, Elmer Roe Clark in 1989; two children Nadine Mulkey, and Louetta Parks; and nine brother and five sisters.
She is survived by her children Laverne Russell of Pocasset, Preston Clark of Cleveland and Linda Green of Noble; 11 grandchildren; 20 great grandchildren; three great-great grandchildren; and a host of other relatives and friends.
Pallbearers will be: B.J Parks, Brent Parks, Tony Russell, Jesse Smith, Ray North III and Bradley Mulkey.
Helen Claybrook
Funeral services for lifelong Seminole County resident, Helen Wingate Claybrook, of Wewoka were scheduled for Tuesday, March 16 at 10 a.m. at the First Presbyterian Church in Wewoka with Craig Claybrook officiating.
Interment followed at the Oakwood Cemetery in Wewoka under the direction of Stout-Phillips Funeral Home.
Claybrook was born January 26, 1920, to Clarence L and Faye (Engels) Wingate.
She graduated from Wewoka High School in 1938, where she was active in the band.
She participated with the band that won a national contest in Chicago, under the direction of Everett Wilcox.
She continued her education at the Cincinnati Conservatory of Music and graduated from Oklahoma City University.
Helen married Clarence Claybrook on May 19, 1942, in Wewoka.
They owned and operated Claybrook’s Laundry and Dry Cleaners for many years in Wewoka.
He preceded her in death in 1974.
Also preceding her were her parents, one sister, Hazel Wingate, and her special companion, Cluke Myers.
Claybrook continued her love of music by being a long time supporter of the Wewoka High School band.
She accompanied band students in solos and ensembles for three generations, including her own children and grandchildren.
Helen was also an active member of the First Presbyterian Church in Wewoka where she played the organ for over forty years and was ordained as a ruling elder.
She was also an active member of the Wewoka Alumni Association for many years.
Claybrook is survived by three sons and daughters- in- law; Curtis and Donna Claybrook, of Diamond Bar, California; Craig and Laurie Claybrook of Dallas, Texas, and Keith and Diana Claybrook of Wewoka; and one daughter Karen Keim of Pacific, Mo., one brother and sister- in-law, Kenneth (Bud) and Lovella Wingate, and one sister and brother- in- law Paul and Mary (Wingate) Bergquist; grandchildren, Derek and Kirsten Sosbee of Stillwater, Chadd and Lisa Claybrook of Fayetteville, Ark., Ryan Sosbee and Brooke Tucker of Wewoka, Brian and Kristin Whitlock of Ada, Jason Keim and Lindsay Keim, both of Pacific, Mo., John Claybrook of Dallas, Texas, Steve and Judy Wilcox of Indio, Calif., and Greg and Kim Grisafe of Redlands Calif.; great grandchildren, Carson Sosbee and Cameron Sosbee both of Wewoka, Connor Whitlock, Cooper Whitlock and Carter Whitlock, all of Ada, Jamie Wilcox of Indio, Calif., Samantha Grisafe and Kyle Grisafe, both of Redlands, Calif.; and a host of family and friends.

Barney Cloud
Wake services for Seminole native, Barney Lee Cloud will be held at 6:30 p.m. Saturday, March 28 at the Stout-Phillips Funeral Home Chapel i Wewoka.
He will be moved to the Sand Creek Eufaula Baptist Church, Wewoka, at 4 p.m. on Sunday, March 28, with Wake Services to be held at 7:30 p.m.
Funeral services will be held on Monday, March 29 at 2 p.m. at the Sand Creek Eufaula Baptist Church in Wewoka, with Rev. Houston Tiger officiating.
Interment will be in the Cloud family cemetery, under the direction of Stout-Phillips Funeral Home, Wewoka.
Cloud died Thursday, March 25, 2004, at the age of 62, at his home in Oklahoma City.
He was born Nov. 5, 1941, in Seminole to Daniel Cloud and Annie McCoy.
He was reared in the Seminole County area and attended Bowlegs Schools.
He was employed by Oklahoma Roofing Co., in Oklahoma City.
Cloud served in the Army as an ammunitions bearer, with an Honorable Discharge in 1962 and a member of V.F.W. # 9966 in Del City.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Daniel and Annie Cloud; and two brothers, David Cloud and Lee Cloud.
He is survived by Betty Ann (Morse) Cloud of Oklahoma City; two sons, Monroe Cloud and Barney Cloud Jr., both of Blackwell; five grandchildren; one brother, Holland Cloud of Arkansas City, Kan.; four sisters, Evelyn Coursey of Wewoka, Maxine Overbey of Ada, Gerldine Cloud of Konawa and Betsy Bender of Oklahoma City; and a host of other relatives and friends.
Pallbearers will be Quinton Shouse, Larry Coursey, Ottie Lankford, Darrel Cloud, Leo Cloud, and Cleo Cloud.
Honorary bearers will be Holland Cloud, Robert Coursey, Tommy Overbey, Raymond Alexander, Pedro DeAnda, and Bill Glass.
Maria Rae Coachman
Former Resident’s Daughter Dies in Tulsa Car Accident
The daughter of a former Wewokan has died after an auto accident Thursday near Tulsa.
Maria Rae Coachman, 17, Tulsa, died in the emergency room after an accident at the I-44 and W. 56th Street intersection in Tulsa County.
She is the daughter of Jerome "Charley" Warledo, now of Edmond, and Charlotte Coachman, Tulsa.
The accident report by Oklahoma Highway Patrol said Coachman was a passenger in a vehicle driven by her cousin, 19-year-old Christina Joy Coachman, Tulsa.
Christina Coachman was not injured.
Another cousin, Samantha E. Dushane, 15, of Tahlequah, was treated and released from a local hospital for minor injuries.
Troopers said the vehicle was traveling at a high rate of speed and swerved left to avoid another vehicle, went into a broadslide and struck the barrier wall.
It overturned onto its top, ejecting the victim, who was the only one not wearing a seatbelt.
Coachman’s funeral services are scheduled for 1:30 p.m. Tuesday at Little Quarsarty Baptist Church.
Rev. Ledkey McIntosh will officiate. Burial will follow at Wiley-Watson Cemetery north of Dustin under the direction of Stout-Phillips Funeral Home in Wewoka.
Wake services are set for 7:30 p.m. Monday at the church.
Coachman was born July 11, 1986. She attended Sequoyah High School in Tahlequah, finishing 11th grade.
She lived in Moore until 2003 when she moved to Tulsa.
She was baptized at Glorietta Baptist Church.
Survivors include her parents; siblings Timothy and Tafv Coachman of Tulsa.
She was preceded in death by her grandparents, Charles and Leatrice Coachman and Johnson and Betty Jo Warledo.
