Memorial services and interment for former Seminole resident, Edith Virginia (Pippin) Conway, were scheduled for 2 p.m. March 6 at Resurrection Memorial Cemetery in Oklahoma City.
Services are under the direction of Floral Haven Funeral Home and Cemetery.
She died Saturday, Feb. 28, 2004, at the age of 83 in Tulsa, surrounded by many loved ones.
She was born Dec. 4, 1920 in Hugo.
Conway graduated from Seminole High School and then married Jack Conway in 1942.
They lived in Oklahoma, Illinois and England before retiring in Oklahoma.
She was a vivacious woman who touched many lives.
She was preceded in death by her parents, William Richard Pippin and Virginia Mae (Loftin) Pippin, husband of almost 53 years, Edward Spurgeon "Jack" Conway; daughter, Wanda Louise Taylor; and brothers, Wilson Eugene Pippin and Allan Pippin.
She is survived by her sons, Thomas Conway, and wife, Linda of Seminole, and John Conway and wife, LeEtta of Bartlesville; daughters, Vivian Wells and husband, Clark of Keystone Lake, Ida Day and husband, Roy of Tulsa, Bettye Bidwill and husband, Charlie of Northfield, Il., and Jan Conway of Sandy, Utah; brothers, Cecil Pippin and wife, Ommie of Cumming, Ga, Lee Pippin and wife, Thelma of Seminole, Ralph Pippin and wife, Marion of Seminole, Lloyd Pippin of Amarillo, Texas; sister, Bernice Lindsay and husband, Harold of Marlow; 21 grandchildren; 13 great grandchildren; Uncle Ralph (Edna) Loftin of Hugo and numerous nieces and nephews.

Larry Conway
Graveside funeral services for former Seminole resident Larry Conway are set for 11 a.m. on Friday, July 2, at Wolf Cemetery under the direction of Swearingen Funeral Home.
Mae Lois McGrew will officiate the service, and interment will follow, also at Wolf Cemetery.
Conway died Sunday, June 27, 2004, at Valley View Hospital in Ada, at the age of 52.
He was born Jan. 17, 1952, in Seminole, to Joe Nathan Conway and Mary Elizabeth (Watson) Conway.
He was preceded in death by his parents; one brother, Jerry Conway; and two half-sisters, Louise Black and Ethel Riley.
Conway is survived by seven brothers: Richard Conway of Oklahoma City, Charles Conway of Midwest City, Clarence Conway of Oklahoma City, Larence Conway of Oklahoma City, Loanzo Conway of Seminole, Dale Conway of Seminole, and Johnny Conway of Oakland, Calf.; and one half-brother, James Conway of Kansas City, Kan.
He is also survived by four sisters: Clarice Cagg of Anadarko, Doris Carter of McAlester, Freeda Conway of Seminole, and Alta Griffis of Norman; and two half-sisters: Mattie Ledbetter of Tulsa, and Jeneva Phelps of Kansas City, Mo.
Edith Coody
Funeral services for lifelong Konawa resident Edith Coody will be 2 p.m. on Monday at Rock Springs Baptist Church with Jimpsey and Tim Harjo officiating.
Interment will be at Vamoosa Cemetery under the direction of Pickard-Swearingen Funeral Home. Pallbearers will be Harold Cully, George Tiger III, Brandon Cully, Buddy Lindsey, Grant Cully, and Sam Tiger.
There will be a wake service at 8 p.m. on Sunday at the Rock Springs Baptist Church.
Coody died Sept. 17, 2004 at a hospital in Ada. She was born to Sam and Eunice (Bear) Cully on Nov.9, 1930.
She married Roger Coody on Sept. 18, 1965 and had been a homemaker. Coody was a member of the Motezoma Baptist Church.
Her parents, husband, sons, Thurman Carpitcher and Frankie Cully, and sister Lana Cully all preceded her in death.
She is survived by sons, R.D. Coody and Stanley Coody both of Konawa; daughter Nema Coody of Konawa; three sisters, Mary L. Tiger, Joyce Cully, both of Konawa and Leona Chosa of N.M.; and six grandchildren.
Faryss Anthony Coody
A service for lifelong Maud resident Faryss Anthony Coody will be held on Thursday at 3:30 p.m. in the Maud High School Auditorium with Bro. Glenn Peck and Rev. Sandy Harjo officiating.
There will also be a viewing from 8 a.m. to 12 p.m. at Swearingen Funeral Home on Thursday. Interment will be at Vamoosa Cemetery under the direction of Knight-Swearingen Funeral Home.
Coody was born in Ada on May 8, 1987 to Faren Anthony and Ruby A. (Nail) Coody.
He played football (#10), basketball, and baseball for Maud High School. He was also an avid hunter.
Coody is preceded in death by his grandfathers, Jack Nail and Franklin Andy Coody, Sr.
He is survived by his parents and sister, Feliza Coody all of the home; grandmothers, Lou Perry of Latta, and Ruby Nail of Maud.
The casket bearers for the service will be Steven Nail, Jeff McFerran, Ca-te Jesse, Curtis Nail, George Nail, and Coach Butler.
The honorary bearers will be Keith Nail, and the entire Maud High School football team, Franklin Coody, Ronnie Silas, Bill Anderson, and Cary Fletcher.
George A. Cook
Funeral services for lifelong Wewoka resident George A. Cook are scheduled for 2 p.m. Thursday at the New Life Church.
Interment is to follow services at Oakwood Cemetery under the direction of Stout-Phillips Funeral Home.
Cook died Monday, Dec. 13, 2004 at the age of 69. He was born Aug. 4, 1935 to Howard and Jimmie Cook in Wewoka.
He grew up in Wewoka where he graduated from Wewoka Schools in 1953. Cook married Betty Salazar on July 13, 1957 and was self-employed in the oil field business for over 40 years.
His mother Jimmie Cook, one granddaughter Blair Barkhimer and a special aunt Letha Mathis all preceded him in death.
Survivors include his wife Betty of the home; his father Howard Cook; three children, Clifford Cook and wife Carol, Greg Cook and wife Dana and Rhonda Barkhimer and husband Carl, all of Wewoka; six grandchildren, Jeff Cook, Jennifer Cook, Jordan Cook, Austin Cook, Blaine Barkhimer and Seth Barkhimer; one brother Don Cook and wife Jeretta of Wewoka; one sister Trevia Streater and husband Darrell of Wewoka; and numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Pallbearers for the service will be Jeff Cook, Jordan Cook, Austin Cook, Blaine Barkhimer, Seth Barkhimer, Mike Streater and Dewayne Streater.
Juanita Cook
Funeral services for longtime Seminole resident, Juanita Vernice (Wetsel) Cook are scheduled for 10 a.m. Tuesday, April 6 at the Trinity Chapel and Resthaven Memorial Park with James M. Cook officiating.
Interment will follow at the Resthaven Memorial Park in Shawnee under the direction of Swearingen Funeral Home of Seminole.
Cook died Saturday, April 3, 2004, at the age of 78 at Seminole Estates Nursing Center.
She was born Sept. 11, 1925, in Amarillo, Texas to Jackson Ernest Wetsel and Myrtle Lela (Lovin) Wetsel.
She graduated from Seminole High School in 1945.
She worked for Braums for 12 years as a district manager in the Tulsa area and opened the first Braums in Seminole in April 1977.
She was a member of the Harvey Road Baptist Church .
Her parents and one brother, Raymond Ernest Wetsel, preceded her in death.
She is survived by one son, James "Jim" Michael Cook of Seminole, two daughters, Susan Carol Kunz of Salt Lake City, Utah and Janice Lea Medlin of Baton Rouge, La.; one brother, Elmer Roy Wetsel of Albuquerque, N.M.; eight grandchildren and ten great grandchildren.
Lela M. Cooper
Funeral services for longtime Seminole resident Lela M. Cooper are scheduled for 1 p.m. Thursday at First Baptist Church.
Rev. Tommy Clark will officiate.
Burial will follow in Maple Grove Cemetery under the direction of Swearingen Funeral Home.
Her casket will be open only during the service.
Cooper died Sunday, Dec. 12, 2004, at Sequoyah East Nursing Home in Roland at the age of 91.
She was born March 10, 1913, in Lumberton, Miss., to W.S. and Frances (Kennedy) Howard.
She was a homemaker and a member of Eastern Star. She was active at First Baptist Church, where she taught Sunday School for several years.
Cooper moved to Roland six and one-half years ago.
She was married to Malcolm W. Cooper on March 2, 1934, in Marion County Miss.
He died Oct. 28, 1998.
She was also preceded in death by her parents and one son, Jerry Cooper.
Survivors include two sons, Jim Cooper of Gans, and Malcolm H. Cooper, Lumberton; three daughters, Nelda Blaylock, Muldrow, Sandra Glen, Sulphur, and Ardath Strobel, Scranton, Ark.; one brother, W.E. Howard; two sisters, Ann Chambers and Helen Reynolds; three half-brothers, Walter J. Howard Jr., Harvey Howard and Q.C. Howard; three half-sisters, Lois Hoffer, Violet Bridges and Lula Rae Carpenter; 17 grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers will include grandsons Lee Wade, Jarrod Armer, Bobby Strobel, Gerald Strobel, Michael Strobel and Doug Cooper.
Wanda Lee Cooper
Funeral services for Wanda Lee Cooper, Wewoka, are scheduled for 2p.m. Thursday, Jan 15 at the Stout-Phillips Funeral Home Chapel in Wewoka, with Pastors O’dell Hardeman and Tim Robert officiating.
Interment will be in the Jackson Family Cemetery, under the direction of Stout-Phillips Funeral Home.
Cooper was born in Wewoka on June 5, 1940, to Roy and Myrtle Hill.
She spent most of her time growing up in a loving, God fearing home.
Wanda was the sixth of nine children.
She has always been a very funny, loving and kind mother, sister, and daughter.
She married Cecil Cooper in 1957 and nine children were born of this union.
After being married, Wanda and Cecil decided to move north where they found the state of Kansas to start the growth of their family.
They later relocated to the state of Missouri.
Wanda later moved to Chicago, Ill., and nurtured her nine children until she returned to her home in Wewok.
Wanda belonged to Evangelist Baptist church in Oklahoma City under the pastoralship of Tim Robert.
In 2002, Wanda joined Emmanuel Temple of Praise and Deliverance in Shawnee under the pastoralship of O’dell Hardeman, where she remained in good standing.
Wanda was preceded in death by her parents.
Wanda leaves behind ten children, Cecil Jr. Cooper of Kansas City, Mo., Reginald Cooper, Delisa Cooper and Herman Cooper, all of Shawnee, Curtis Cooper Midwest City, Walter Cooper Oklahoma City, Roosevelt Cooper Kansas City, Mo., Tonya Lee Cooper of Orange, Calif., Gregory Cooper. and Alonzo Cooper, both of Kansas City, Kan. and seventeen grand children, Desmond, Donavan, Demond, Devon, Brittaney, Darius, Gregory Jr., Rosalyn, LaQuninda, Curtis Jr., Alisha, Bryce, Tre-vell, Zavion, Akil, AJ, Zerrena, Derrell, Herman Jr., Deandrew, and Cory Cooper, one great-grandson, Jaylyn, sisters and brothers are Artellia McElwee of Spencer, Naomi Graham of Los Angeles, Calif., Doris Arnold of Austin, Texas, Myrthanna Madkins of Wewoka, Earcell Pittman of Kansas City, Kan., LeRoy Hill of Englewood, Calif., Priscilla Liddell of Spencer and Patricia Terrell of Okla.
